I made an appointment, turned up at the prescribed time and the service was carried out within the allotted time frame to a very high standard. I was very impressed with the rational and helpful information conveyed to me by the shop staff. Overall a big ups to the service provided and received.

The two bikes I took in for servicing look great, thanks Matt. But it was disappointing to book last Monday for Friday servicing, drop the bikes off on Thursday night then not hear back. I called on Friday for a status update and was told the workshop was behind so they'd try to get them done on Saturday. I phoned again Saturday but was told the job was unlikely to be done today. I explained I need one of the bikes for work on Monday so then the guy I spoke with said he'd organise another mechanic to see if he could do them Sunday. I appreciate everyone gets busy but its hard to plan anything without any feedback, so a bit more communication would be appreciated. Cheers.

Great service in helping me choose the right bike, for me. Kevin very understanding while helping me chose and buy. John extremely patient and helpful in teaching me how this great bike works. I'm very grateful to both.

I have placed a number of orders with these guys now, not because they were the cheapest but because they are hands down the fastest delivery. considering I am in the central north island I can place an order on a Sunday and its in my hands by Tuesday lunch time. incredible service, simply onto it. will continue to purchase online from these guys as service like that is hard to beat. well done guys, keep doing what your doing.

Ordered a new NCM Milano Plus after a test ride. Kevin was very helpful and the bike arrived exactly when he predicted, Given a thorough tutorial by another staff member on pickup which was much appreciated. Very pleased with both the service and the product.

They are always really busy but Kevin (owner) took the time to ride my bike and diagnose the issues. Mostly I'm the issue. Bike was ready when they said it would be and runs like new. My extended family buys from here and we are all happy with the range and the service.

A friendly team to deal with on the phone and in store. They had a specialist tool I needed to get my bike running as good as new again. Proud to have them as my LBS.

Came in with a flat tyre and some sealant. They were really helpful and let me use their tools to install it and inflate the tyre.

We purchase 2 x Wattwheels e bikes from Papanui Cycles mid Jan 22. Kevin took his time with us explaining differences between hub drive and mid drive , he explained all features of the bikes of which they are packed full of, we took them for a small test drive from his shop and was instantly sold on them. Asking how far you would get on a battery which was approximately 130kms ,we think if you live in Christchurch or somewhere flat that yes yiu may get that but as we live in Dunedin we never for a minute expected to get that distance from a full charge which we don't. We are getting on average 85-90kms which we are thrilled with , and being in a city full of hills we are most impressed. I can't reccomend highly enough Kevin and his team at Papanui Cycles and the Watt Wheels brand don't walk or drive past, go in and talk to them they know their stuff.

Matt is the workshop, is great to deal with, basically I took my boys, Bike to another shop first to get some repairs done, local shop to me, ( bike is 3 years old, not had much done to it in tho 3 years ), first shop went over bike and were like, your going to need to spend bout $4-500, to fix this bike, I only really wanted the rear wheel fixed, and trued, they suggested I just buy a new bike.... wt... I called Papanui cycles was put on to Matt (on a Sunday afternoon too), he said bring it down, so he could take a look, Bike all fixed, as good as new, less than $100.. including a new tyre... I have been to Papanui cycles is the past and not enjoying dealing with the owner,, himself (very cold), but staff on drop off and pickup were friendly and great to deal with, seems the owner knows how to employ good people tho...

Took my son’s bike in to get a puncture repair done and received a text within an hour to say it had been done and it was ready to collect. So prompt!

These guys had a great selection of tyres!. All the bike shops I tried and no one was stocking 27.5 inch except these guys. You came across a bit abrupt but I know your a one man army who's busy trying to serve multiple customers so algood. Happy as and tyres were reasonably priced. Thanks👍.

the service chap ( Last name Todd ) provided good service( hence the 3 stars ) and very approachable. The owner was extremely rude to my wife when she rang and checked the situation of the two EB's. Despite she advising no tx had been received to us, the owner declared it had been sent , we ascertained to an incorrect number, he replied we had given them that number and it wasn't his fault if we provided the wrong info. The number he tx was nothing like our cell numbers... rude person. Upon picking up the bikes I noticed they had booked then in under another name and despite my spelling our name and confirming those details when I dropped the bikes off, they had incorrectly booked them to another person, hence the tx message they sent, didn't come to us. Would we use this company again for anything, like heck we will and if approached for recommendations, you can guess our reply.

The mechanic is real great he done a top notch job on my bike my partner brought in. But tbh the owner was really rude both times going in. Bad communication online, at the counter. He really doesn't make you feel welcome in the store. Wasn't impressed with him communication. But we got there I'm the end, I guess. I would recommend the company as they had good quality bike parts and items I needed. But don't expect much when it comes to customer service unless your buying a 5k electric bike. He don't really care about you...

Good advice given on the bike and any repairs etc needed. Always willing to help with issues and offer recommendations on tyres/ inner tubes etc

I replaced two tyres on my bike . After paying and as I was about to leave I asked the mechanic if he could put oil on my chain . He was very obliging . Cleaning the whole mechanism and giving good advice on eclectic bikes . Thanks

Kevin went above and beyond to recommend me a Mountain Bike to suit my (Really tall) height and set it up for me. Also helped my partner with a bike suitable for what she wanted to do too. Very pleased with his suggestion and all the help he and his staff gave us. Prices were competitive with the bigger chain store retailers but the great service made it well worth while. Thanks Team. We will be back in before Xmas for bikes for the boys.

Excellent family business, very helpful when selecting a mountain bike for our children. Nothing was a problem for these guys, they even delivered the bikes to our house for free when they wouldn't fit in my car. Top rate service, highly recommended.

Purchased 2 bike chains via trademe. Received some quick release links instead. The title of the auction was '8 speed Chain-KMC. The main photo was of a 8 speed KMC chain. Update - they sorted it out. Gave me a full refund.

Very knowledgeable staff but shop is too small for the vast range of bikes and accessories. Seems very cramped but huge amount of gear to choose from and all top quality.

Kevin and team always do an excellent job and work around the clock getting bikes back to owners asap.

Great shop, not a lot of parts but that can be expected due to shortages. Highly recommend Gary in the workshop.

I am a avid roadie and mtb rider, and have been using Papanui bike shop for years for servicing and advice. The Team are very helpful and in my experience always go the extra to get things right. They always have a busy workshop, a testiment to their good work IMHO. I would recommend them. Keep up the good work!

After a strange and unhelpful customer experience with another bike shop today I tried Papanui Cycles and had the polar opposite experience! Kev and his team are awesome! If you are a new to biking like me but you're clocking up the kms and you are training for an event I highly recommend Kev! I went to see if I could get my gears fixed, he jumped straight on my bike, and within mins was explaining why my gears weren't working and what he could do for me. I had a few more questions, got some great advice and as a result I will go back to buy the bike I am on the looking out for, for an event I am currently training for. This was an excellent experience with front people who like people. I felt listened to, I felt I could ask stuff and I left with what I need for now. I can pick up the bike he is fixing for me today! Also, another great thing was he didn't try sell me stuff I don't need😁 Thanks so much Papanui Cycles. 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went in with my teenage son today to buy a bike for him.The owner served me and he gave excellent advice, let my boy ride it outside, and gave a one year guarantee. The owner shared his vast experience on cycles and was such a positive and engaging person. He stressewd the importance of after sales service and outlined in detail what he could provide. I would strongly recommend Papanui Cycles.

Good range of bikes, but have a habit of up selling things you don’t actually want.
