On a Mountain bike it’s about 2 hours and 15 minutes from Codgers carpark to the top, constant grind all the way, not steep but it is easy to get cramps if you aren’t prepared. The downhill from the saddle is pretty rocky, only the lower section through the bush is really smooth. I did My home in Maitai coming around the trail in 3 hours 40 minutes. It is a nice experience with some awesome views.

Superb ride. Some loose rock at top once out of bush line for about 1-2 km would probably be the trickiest. If you manage to get through this the downhill is probably achievable with care as surface currently great. Long uphill favours the fit, or ebike.

Great walk. Is alpine Country so take appropriate clothing. It was very windy on the tops

A good steady incline. You require a moderate or greater level of fitness to enjoy. The downhill has had a lot of work done to improve the ride experience. A lot of switchbacks so make sure your break pads are in good order

Long easy climb up Dun Mountain, rocky downhill for 9km then single track fun... a NZ classic loop

Lonely and barren, not a good place to get caught in a storm, but on a nice day its a great spot to meander through. Surprisingly there's a toilet nearby.
