Visited this location today to rent three ebikes. We had no idea what we were doing but the staff here were incredibly helpful. I didn't catch his name but the Irish guy working helped us so much and even offered us the 2hr rental instead of us needing to pay for the 4hr rental. All we had to do is fill out a flier and pay and we were good to go!
Ebikes were $50 each for 2hrs. The trail is super easy up to the boat Cafe restaurant thing. They were very easy to use and the battery was great! Didn't run below 80%
10/10 would recommend this location and the bikes they have.

Had my bike through the "work cup service" as it needed a solid check over, first big service since it was new 4yrs ago. The team did EVERYTHING that was needed. Brakes are beautiful, suspension buttery, it was all stripped and lubed. I couldn't be happier, it's like my bike is new again. Best part is they called to advise any addition costs (where parts needed) and overall although it cost a fair bit I reckon it was miles cheaper than the specialized dealer in Auckland I used last time and best of all no issues and no surprises. These dudes are legends!

Very highly recommended. Won't be taking my bike elsewhere!!
I'm fairly clueless and on a bike that's new to me, so I very much appreciated Rob taking the time to really delve into all the details with me. Super knowledgeable and patient - up there with the best customer service I have ever experienced and I walked out with a whole lot more knowledge than I had when I came in.
In the space of a few hours and at a very reasonable cost (cheaper than the big chain store on the corner that shall remain nameless!) they managed to convert to tubeless and install two new tires for me, helped me set up my suspension to suit my weight and riding style and had a look over things to give me an idea of what might need servicing as the season progresses. Not once was there any attempt to up-sell or to get me spending more than I had intended when I walked in.
Absolute legends. Thanks Rob and Vertigo for your hard work and for your support of the local scene!

BEN from Lincoln UK, is the best bicycle mechanic I have dealt with. I rocked in 5:40pm Easter Sunday and he saved my South Island bicycle adventure. Great shop, great team, happiest customer ever!

Friendly and helpful staff.
Suggested a few trails for me and my son. Included gondola pass.
Not cheap, but I thought good value for money as there is NO cycling uphill, and all your time is spent on the mostly well maintained trails.
Heaps of fun with my 10yo son.
Bikes were in excellent condition and the soft tail was perfect for the trails

First day of holiday I popped up in the shop for few questions . I have to admit that my bike was in a bad state as I don't take the time to look after it. Anyway they offer me to chenge my break pad straight away and check few others thing quickly to keep me safe at the gondy for the week and we arranged a service for the end of the week , great service and friendly staff

Friendly and helpful staff. We rented two e-mountain bikes for the day. Super easy transaction and great equipment. It was $79 for a four hour rental, including the helmet. Great way to see Queenstown and the surrounding area. The shop supplies a map and suggestions as to where to go.

At $39 per hardtail mountain bike for an afternoon, it’s perfect for my son and I to tackle the gentle 30km round trip along the Queenstown Frankton trail, that takes you around the golf course opposite the township.
The service from the 2 guys today is very friendly and accommodating. The bikes are more than adequate and they have a huge and diverse range of bike rental options, including guided tours. They also give out a helpful map of trails in the area, with difficulty and fitness levels etc.
Our bikes are clean, and well serviced, although both of them needed the gears tweaked to make the shifting a little more responsive and precise, which we passed on to them upon our return. The bikes were noted for servicing and we were thanked for our feedback, so presumably they were indeed given a quick tune up in this area. This is the beauty of renting bikes from a bike shop (versus your accommodation etc)- they are able to quickly service the bikes when they need attention. My suggestion would be to take your bike for a short ride and see how the gear changes and brakes are performing, and then ask the guys to give them a tweak if required, as it usually only requires a few twists of the cable adjusters to get them in tune, and they will know exactly how to do this.

Rented a downhill bike to use at the Queenstown Bike Park. Came with all the gear I needed (helmet and pads). Shop is an easy ride to the gondola and had a great day.

Easy, quick and no hassles to hire. Includes lift pass. Trails are fun, I ended up stacking on the original trail jumps so avoid that one if you’re a beginner.
G.
Great service and local knowledge. Good bike hire fleet. Highly recommended.

Just had the best ride of my life. The equipment is awesome and in a good condition. The stuff was kind and helpful. Couldn't think about better experience.

Super easy drop in, pick up and go. Friendly staff, clearly explained everything we might need to know including which routes are children friendly. Child under 18kg can sit in a add-on seat at the back, or can set up a spare seat with food rest but no paddles I'm the front. Fun activity for young family, easy bike around the lake all the way to Hilton hotel. We got lucky and caught a water taxi back, they're usually too full to take bikes. Highly recommend.
R.
Awesome and well cared for e-mtb for rental. Staff was super friendly, giving proper instructions and some nice tips. Highly recommended.
J.
A great shop with helpful staff to get you a bike quickly and on your way.
They offer traditional and electric-assisted bikes here depending on your riding style and effort you want to expend. Haha.
The mountain bikes are perfect for the Queenstown lakeside trail and you don’t really need an electric-assisted bike. You can keep those extra dollars in your pocket for beer and food instead.
The shop is right by the lakeside trail so that is even better.
Thanks to Vertigo Mountain Biking for the smooth and great experience.
B.
Good quality bikes and great service, super flexible with changes to plans, they knew exactly what we needed eg helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, spare tubes etc and got it all together for us without even needing to ask. they even sorted out the bike trailer for us. highly recommended.

Popped in here twice, once to scope what rental bikes they have and another time to pick up a bike. Both times they guys were really helpful and I felt very welcome. I'm a total mtb novice so really appreciated the help with bike, setup and what trails to hit. Guys were super friendly and in no way patronising when I was asking simple questions about how to adjust the dropper seat etc. Really enjoyed my day blasting around the Queenstown trails.

Booked a rentalbike/lift pass combo for one day with them. The service is top, everybody ist friendly and all of them are bike enthusiasts too, what makes you feel like home with you own bikingmates.
The bikes they have are all in a good condition and well serviced, however my bike I got first had some air trapped in the rear brakelines, what I noticed after the first run. Nothing critical, but I just popped back into the store to ask if they can fix it. I just got a new bike and I was back on the trails in less than 5 minutes.
So if you rent a bike there (or anywhere else you should do the same actually) just go for a quick testrun to see if you need any adjustment for brakes, suspension or whatever.
And the prices are definitely reasonable for the experience you can have here in the Queenstown bikepark. (I paid 219$ for one day lift pass and bikerental + basic protective gear)
I had a great day, thanks guys!

Excellent mountain biking shop. Tim and the shop mechanics are friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and world-cup level mechanics. In addition to nailing my bike set up, they recommended the chimichanga from Caribe for lunch. It was delicious and so large that one of the more handsome young mechanics had to help me eat it. He also introduced me to a fabulous album “Post Traumatik Stress Disorder” by Mr Trouble. Did I mention that the view of the mountains from their bike washing area is spectacular? Other than that, I can’t say much good about the place :-)
A.
Hands down the best bike shop in New Zealand. Loic and the boys were super friendly with both setup as well as trail beta, and even let me rotate between a downhill and trail bike throughout my stay. The only spot to go in Queenstown!
L.
Awesome place. About 2 minutes away from the Lakeview Camping side. You can rent "citibikes" that are actually fairly decent Giant Talons.
Really friendly staff who also helps to pick the right tour for everyone's ability.
You can rent the bikes for 4 hours and can afterwards extend the rental if your run late.

Guys in the shop were amazing, Tim and Jamie helped us out with some mechanicals to get us back on the trails... Without them it would have been a short visit for us, thanks guys!!!

I was riding the length of NZ on a tandem bike by picking up random people along the way. This was an awareness/fundraising campaign to rescue children and women from sex-trafficking.
My bike had serious damages and need some tune up and love especially after riding through the Crown range. The front disc brakes were all burnt out.
It was a busy time in the shop but Tim and his team did everything possible to fix the bike and made it look brand new and got me up and riding. Because of his help, I was able to ride another 500km and eventually finished at Bluff.
The folks at Vertigo are the nices, friendliest and most knowledgeable people about bikes in Queenstown.
Tim and team, thank you from the bottom of the heart. You made Freedom Seat possible.

last april Ben helped me in the shop and was very knowledgeable. i was unsure what would be the best bike for me as i wanted to bike at seven mile for the first time. Ben guided me to the perfect bike and i had a great day! couldn't recommend this place enough!

These guys are so welcoming and helpful. Even right at the end of the season their hire gear is in good condition and they made sure it fitted well. The gondola is a short walk from the shop, makes it easy
M.
Hired a couple of downhill bikes from Vertigo and hit the trails. Had some minor technical issues, the guys were happy drop everything to get me back out there asap. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, stoked with the service!
M.
Lovely guys, really helpful. Equipment in great condition. Unless you’re extremely bike fit, a half day on the gondola bike park is more than enough. How good!
T.
Dealt with Loic. Top bloke and was super helpful at explaining where to ride and how to get there. I did the Moke Lake, Lake Dispute and 7mile trails. Hands down one of the best mtb experience. Bike was a Giant Reign 2 which was perfect for the route. Can highly recommend Vertigo bikes. Will be using them again when I return next year! Thx Guys...TonyC

We rented 2 DH bikes + kit here for the day. Good prices and friendly service. Insurance for the bikes is not included, and I recommend getting that. It only costs 8$ extra.
R.
Dropped by on the off chance they could service my touring bike the same day and they fitted me in. Super helpful and friendly staff who really know and care about bikes. I would recommend them.
P.
Very helpful staff! I was on holiday in Queenstown and had a problem with my brakes. They replaced lever internals the next morning and I was able to keep riding. Stoked!

Rented downhill bike for half day at Gondola. Staff was helpful and friendly. Bike and riding gear was all well maintained. Highly recommend!

Staff extremely helpful, all necessary equipment was hired, even shoes. Due to the very wet weather the guys in the shop knew some areas would be muddy and suggested goggles as well which really helped me out
