J.Steve and Jo were super nice! Love the bags that attached to the bike, they were so handy. Biking is the perfect transport for doing wine tours in this area.
l.Booked with Jo & Steve through a recommendation from our air bnb. Jo’s communication was excellent and she helped us pick the tandem and even booked lunch for us. We went on a Tuesday so there weren’t as many cellar doors open but more than enough and given great advice and instructions to aid our time. Bike easy to ride, helmets provided and some of the cellar doors do reduced tasting if you flash your lanyard to them which was great! Picked up and dropped off to our air bnb and the dogs even came for a ride. Jo & Steve we’re excellent hosts and a great yarn, CANNOT recommend them enough! Thanks guys and hope to see you again in the future
L.Jo and Steve were wonderful hosts can't fault them they are natural, very friendly and hospitable people genuinely into providing the best experience possible for visitors looking for a high quality bike tour. We booked on a rather rainy day but they still managed to accommodate us and were flexible in their approach, chaperoning all of us around since it was too wet to bike (especially after wine). Would highly recommend based on this though can't say much about the bikes! Will return when sunny thanks again!
A.Wow. What a fun and fantastic experience. Jo & Steve were amazing. If you’re looking for an excellent way to see the wineries, then look no further. Steve picked us up and dropped us off outside our Air BnB door making wine tasting effortless!; we received a thorough briefing before setting out — Steve imparted a wealth of local knowledge about the region and various wineries; the bikes they lent us were in excellent condition; we didn’t even have to carry a thing on route — he and Jo collected our purchases at the end of the day. Steve & Jo are just gems. What a treat we had exploring their hood by bike!
L.We had a fantastic day cycling around the wineries and Blenheim, enjoying the scenery, wine and food! Jo picked us up directly from where we were staying and took us to pick up bikes and gear. There, Steve gave us a rundown of which wineries were open for tastings and what they specialized in, plus a very handy map. We ventured out on two mountain bikes and took in the sights at our own pace. Afterwards, we were dropped off back at our accomodations after a quick stop at the supermarket to grab some dinner snacks.
Steve and Jo were super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area, which helped us decide where wanted to go for the day. We had no problems with our bikes or gear at all. Highly recommend doing a cycling tour here if you're heading to Blenheim!

K.I looked at options to book bikes for doing the golden mile and the reviews for Steve and Jo convinced me. Now that I've done the tour I can 100% understand the great review, they are super friendly and helpful. The bikes are in good condition, the pick up was easy and on time, the booklet with information (fun facts) very interesting, they picked up our wine from the wineries (although the bags on the bike were also great) and and and. Just the best place to book your bikes. We will be back in two months to celebrate my bday with friends

P.I came across this amazing place by accident, when I'd turned the 'wrong' direction on my bike. Turned out to be the right direction as it led me here! Jo was absolutely lovely, so helpful, even though I was on my own bike and only after a map, she has plenty of time to make suggestions, offer advice and generally make sure I was going to have a fantastic day! I'd highly reccomend them for bike tours, and hope to return one day with friends to do the full package !

The service was excellent with plenty of suggestions for the wineries around. We had lots of fun doing the self guided tour! They thought of everything. We loved the wine panniers on the back of the bike for those bottles you collect as you go.

S.This was definitely a highlight of mine and my girlfriends' trip to New Zealand, and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. From the moment we booked, communication was great, and we were picked up precisely on time and driven to the starting point, where we got helmets and bicycles. They're mostly the European style bicycles where you pedal backwards to use the back brake, which can take some getting used to, and we actually ended up settling for a tandem which was great fun (although caused some initial arguments!)
You're given a detailed map with all the local cellar doors, which range in distance from a two minute cycle away up to a 40 minute cycle away, and they'll answer any questions you have, e.g we asked which were the cheap and free ones! This ended up being most of them - at all of the ones we visited, it was free for tastings or $5 for a slightly larger selection. You could also get glasses of wine for $5-7 and if you bought a bottle they knock the price of the tasting off, so it doesn't work out too expensive.
It's recommended you aim for five cellar doors, although we did six and some other people did three, so you really can go at your own pace.
We met Steve and Jo, and Jo's dad picked us up, and they're a really nice bunch. From making sure we knew our route and were happy on our choice of bikes through to nice chats whilst they drove us to and fro, everyone couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! Really recommend this as a great way to spend a day in the region.

The pickup and drop off service was great, Jo offered a lot of information about the area and the wine industry itself on the drive to the tour, and when we had enough wine and wanted to go home early, they kindly dropped us off an hour before the scheduled finish time. Great service, quality bikes and an all round amazing experience.

They have great relationships with all the cellars and this was evident when we were cycling around wine tasting. The bikes were really well looked after and had a nice wide seat!

Having spent the previous few days driving, it was awesome being picked up and dropped off at our accommodation with no worries and having the freedom for both of us to enjoy the wine all day long! Caroline was so helpful as our driver and Steve & Jo got us sorted with comfy bikes and we were on our way through the vines ASAP with their valuable tips and tricks. A very special extra was knowing that they’d kindly pick up wine for us if we bought too many to cycle with! L.Fantastic day out with exceptional service from Jo and Steve. The bikes are comfortable and the itinerary Jo planned for us was spot on - not too rushed but we still managed to get around 5 places and enjoy time at each. The pick up/drop off service meant we didn't have to worry about anything and could relax and enjoy the awesome scenery. A must do whether you're solo, a couple or a larger group - no matter the weather!!!

They really went above and beyond by providing reccomendations with a handy map and even started the day with a presentation on all the various wineries so we could plan our day. We are so glad we decided to support their small business and I would highly reccomend them to others.

Only negative would be the price, but you're paying for the convenience really.
Also note, the cost of tastings is not included in the self-guided tour- typically $0-10pp per winery.

Due to many cellar doors being closed and/or you having to book reservations, Steve and Jo made an itinerary for us and called every single vineyard to plan our personalized day. The planning was perfect and the tandem biking had us giggling the whole entire day. They were so so friendly and sooooo detailed with our own map, itinerary, print out of the menu we were going to for lunch, etc...

Every bike they had was extremely nice (we rented a tandem and totally recommend it) and a helmet, basket, and wine holders were included. They map out a perfect route for what you want to see/like to drink, and off you go straight from their property (which is stunning). We had the absolute best time and would 100% recommend renting through Wine Tours by Bike!!

K.My husband, toddler and I had the BEST day rolling around the Marlborough wineries. We turned up unannounced in our campervan, with no plan and Jo just looked after everything! Multiple recommendations for accommodation- camping, freedom camping and nearby hotels.
Combined with their pick up and drop off service they are in the perfect location with easy riding access to great wineries and restaurants, good recommendations from Jo and Steve make it easy to make the most of your day.
Having a toddler in the car seat in the trailer was so much more comfortable for our toddler, she loved it.
One recommendation - if you do Forrest last leave plenty of time! We loved it there but because we spent so long at lunch we only had 20 minutes there and we really regretted it as it was so relaxed with lovely wine flights and amazing service.

C.My husband and I reserved a tandem bike for the afternoon tour and this was one of our most memorable parts of our trip through New Zealand. The owners, Steve and Jo, stayed in constant communication with us months prior to us even arriving in New Zealand. They gave us great recommendations on where to stay in the area and even made dinner reservations for us at one of the most beautiful wineries in the area. They picked us up from our hotel, gave us a great guide and tips on the area, and even helped place our order for wine bottles we wanted to ship back to Florida. They are by the far the best bike tour company I have ever booked with and would highly recommend them! You must go with them while you are in Marlborough.

A.Steve and Jo were amazingly flexible and friendly in accommodating our travel arrangements and in making sure we were able to visit vineyards that we would enjoy. Definitely would recommend and if you have timings that don't fit into the ones online then send them an email and they should be able to help! Getting the tandem was a fun way to get around for sure.

D.A really easy, fun & safe way to taste Marlborough's great wines. Steve & Jo could not have been more helpful. They lift & drop you as part of the service, how good is that. Steve's briefing covers the cycling, the cycle routes to over 30 wineries & other tips to make a great experience.Do take his advice to finish at the Forrest Winery then it's only a 5 minute cycle ride back to the ranch.
You can tour several wineries that give free tastings. We were very pleased with the paid tastings at Nautilus & Forrest. Lots of choice to eat full lunches or bread & cheese.

Steve picked us up from where we were camped and back to the outbuilding with his bikes and then took us through the best route after we short listed the wines we'd like to try from a video he shows you that outline what wineries have what. Once that was done we were off! But not before giving us a great piece of lunch advice. Wairau river wine cellar and restaurant has a chicken burger to die for! We tried it and weren't disappointed. H.Super friendly staff and great pick up and drop off service. We booked last minute and there were no issues. Had a fab day tasting lots of lovely wines and cycling through the vineyards. Bikes were well cared for, had a basket for your bag and panniers for wine purchases. Definitely do this if you're in the area!!

s.Fantastic way to experience the vineyards. The couple that runs the place are super friendly and will make sure that youre experience is 100% in focus which is kind of a rare thing. We rented two bikes with a child cart and had the opportunity to see the region with our 2 year old kid. A must for all parrents visiting.

A.So much fun! We got collected form our hotel, given everything that we needed to have a great day and then set off on our merry way. We returned a little more merry after sampling a lot of wine and had a cracking day. I know there are other companies that do this but there's absolutely nothing that I could fault these guys with.

R.The perfect way to take on the area at your own pace. Either with dedicated cycle paths, or generous cycle lanes on wide quiet roads, it's easy even for those like myself who don't feel confident to cycle in the road. Much preferred this to other wine tours that tied you into a strict schedule.
There are many close vineyards, so while the cycling is enjoyable, you don't need to spend much time doing it, and instead can just focus on enjoying the wine. And of course the wine here - and locations - are top notch (the food too).
Run by helpful and friendly couple - and their sweet dogs. They cater to your needs well with drop off and pick up, and will help you plan your route on the bikes so you'll get the most out of it.

J.Jo and Steve were absolutely amazing and the perfect hosts! They picked us up in town and dropped us off after so it was simple and hassle free for us. We were taken to get our our fun tandem bike and started our self-guided tour in the middle of the wineries! The furthest winery (Cloudy Bay) was a perfect distance away for a nice ride and we did that one first, working our way back and it was an absolutely amazing time! Jo and Steve spent so much time with us giving us recommendations based on what type of wine we liked and answered our many questions. One of our very favorite days of our long trip, we would love to come back and highly recommend Wine Tours by Bike!!!

S.This was a very professional, organized bike rental company. I could not recommend them enough. Pick up, drop off, and collection of purchased wines is included in your rate - which is the same rate other companies charge that don't do these things! We rented a bike from another company in the area two days before and didn't have anywhere near the same level of service for the same rate. The bikes were great quality, good helmets, and really great staff. They help with information on the vineyards as well, to help you chose where to go. Very well run.

L.Thanks so much Steve and Jo for your great service. From the cheery pick up to Jo letting us spend a cheeky extra 10 minutes at our last winery before wobbling our way back to base on our tandem. The tandem bike took a bit of getting used to but nothing a glass or two of wine couldn’t fix. Especially appreciated the information on which wineries were and weren’t operating ahead of time (due to covid and harvest) and the handy map to guide us in the right direction. What a great day!
