We found our Thule cycle locking bar knob no longer worked so stopped off in Taupo to enquire about seeking a replacement. Shortly after leaving the shop the Team rang to advise they may be able to affect a permanent repair. 10 mins later the job was completed.
Great service, many thanks Team.

Friendly and helpful staff, good quality bikes to hire. Recommend heading east around the lake (turn left at the water) and pack a picnic or stop for a (not cheap but great view) pizza at the sailing club place.

We recently spent time planning for our next bikes moving to electric, with great staff. If you had a staff photo space on your website for current staff it would be great as we could check a couple of things to help our decision making with a staff member who changed our thinking about possibilities. The staff member who not only scored a try, but nailed a conversion was able to get a certain person to try an electric bike that actually fitted her.

I went to 4 bike shops in Taupo to buy a bike and not one had even half the customer service level of Pack and Pedal.
The sevice from Neil was superb and he made sure the bike we chose was the right one for our daughter.
The whole family came back the next day to buy the bike, and the rest of the staff were just as great as Neil. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I popped into Pack &Pedal to get some advice on cycle needs as I'm doing the Ironman next year. Hendon went above and beyond with info and advice. I got introduced the the bike mechanic and other staff that worked there. The shop is locally owned, and you get that good old fashioned service. Hendon took the time to chat to me and organized a bike service.
Fantastic that these guys are open 7 days a week and until 6pm week days.
I will be returning for my cycling needs for sure!!

Do not hire a bike from anywhere else. I arrived as they opened and presented them with a challenge. They could not have been more helpful and, apart from great service, solved my non-bike related problem. Absolute rock stars.

Nigel from Pack & Pedal was great. We were on a mountain bike holiday and my flywheel was busted (essentially meaning I could not pedal). We had a very small amount of time to see a mechanic about the issue. I called ahead and explained to Nigel the situation. He was very understanding and told us to roll into the store.
We arrived at about 3:40pm. After pulling apart the rear hub Nigel explained that a spring had split and the flywheel was not engaging. He then proceeded to fix (in MacGyvor fashion) the issue within 20 minutes. Great service and value. If you need to see a bike mechanic in Taupo, Nigel is your man.

I hired a bike for a ride out to Craters MTB Park via Huka Falls. They put my pedals on the bike without fuss and had the bike set up brilliantly for some fun and safe riding on the local terrain. These guys even had the tyre pressure bang on for maximum grip and ride quality - I am surprised how many hire shops don't do this. The quality of bike provided by Pack & Pedal is also a step up from most other shops. I would certainly hire from these guys again and wouldn't look anywhere else.

Visiting from Perth. Rented some bikes and had a great afternoon cycling to Huka falls. Shop staff were friendly and helpful and made the process pretty effortless. Would have given 5 from 5 if the gears on the hire bike weren`t jumping so much for me, the wife however had no issues so all up okay.
