It's culinary artistry, at its finest, making it hard when you try choosing from such a tantalising range. A local favorite boutique butcher. It has huge range of gourmet meat product - from sausages to marinated steaks etc. The tidy store is well maintained and you can see all the signs were beautifully written. Their specials are good deals and worth trying. You can’t find all these in a supermarket. You can buy some ice cream cone just few steps away!

I am originally from Nadi, Fiji lived among the rural sugarcane farmers of Sabeto. I migrated to New Zealand 24 years ago and live at Central Auckland. I have taken retirement at 70 after working for a Company in East Tamaki for long years and now I am 74. Me and my wife Agnes decided to go to Pukeno to taste the ice cream which we heard of from friends. After tasting, we went to a nearby meat shop to look around. I met Dale a lady staff and I bought pork garlic sausages from her. She also gave me a pork cooked sausage to taste. I went home and fried the sausages which I liked very much. My wife doesn't eat pork but she helped me in frying. Now, I know the place where to buy meat, sausages and bacon.

Passed by Pokeno on our way to Tauranga, as friends said this town is well known for the bacon/meat (apart from the ice cream🍦 ). We bought two types of bacons and a couple of kinds of sausages and we weren’t disappointed 👍 The ladies taking the orders were also nice and very accommodating. One of them even gave samples of the sausages, which convinced us to buy so very good promotional strategy 😊

Went to pokeno for an icecream and spotted the meat shop. What a fantastic array of meats and well displayed which led to an impromptu purchase of stuffed chicken breast wrapped in bacon, herb crusted pork loin. Crumbed chicken breast stuffed with camembert and jalapeno sausage, and the service was so friendly. Can't wait for dinner.

Best Christmas ham and sausages. But be careful - there were flies on the inside of the shop front window where the meat is displayed. Most meat was covered with cling film, but not all. Seating outside loaded with overweight natives fouling the air, puffing away on tobacco. Well, I think it was tobacco. Better this time during the week. Pre packaged ham, bacon & ham steaks excellent. Also bought a beef roast. Free sausages for customers.
