We had a great experience at Jan Japan Motors. Goldie was very professional, friendly and helpful. Nothing was a problem for him. We purchased a car for our daughter as a birthday present and he even arranged a surprise birthday cake for her, when we went to pick up the car. A considerate and thoughtful gesture. Thank you for the fantastic service! Highly recommend.

I had such an amazing experience at Jan Japan. Goldi and his team were always happy to help me find the perfect car. Even after my purchase Goldi helped me to solve any problems I had. I will be telling all my friends and family about Jan Japan and I look forward to the next time I go back for a second car :) - They have earned themselves a loyal customer!

Bought my first car with these guys! Super understanding and helpful people. Since I didn't know much about cars, as it was my first one, I had to put my trust in these guys to not take advantage of me and they did not! Goldi is exceptionally good at his job and a genuinely good person, Would definitely recommend these guys!

Fantastic customer service. Goldi went out of his way to make sure we were happy with the car and followed through with all the AA report recommendations before we picked up the car. We love our new car. Would definitely go back to Jan Japan NZ again. Highly recommended.

Good service but the cars quality is soso，hard to find good cars

Just bought a car from Jan Japan. I must say the car is good to drive but purchase experience is not so pleasant. I have long words to say and it was the honest review from me. Two weeks ago we selected a car online and went to their yard to have a look. As agreed with them, I took the car to VTNZ for an inspection. The VTNZ inspection report claim the car overall condition is "POOR" due to engine vibration in idle state. There are other issues too. I gave this report to Jan Japan and they agreed to fix all the issues before I make final payment. So we come to discuss the final price for the car. I added 3 years mechanical warranty and one stereo with bluetooth and gps. The total final price is 10250 NZD. I still kept the original "Offer and sale agreement" which is signed by both parties. One of the good point is they offered me another car to use for free while my selected car was in service. Guatam, which is the sales guy, was good and explained every details to us and drive us to metro station in person. However, my overall impression changed totally when I went to pick the car which was ready to collect. The car battery was dead and it cannot start at all!!! I was asked to pay another 170 NZD to purchase another new battery from them. They insisted and claimed that they sell the car but not the battery. In the end I chose to agree with additional payment for battery as long as the car is good to drive. The small issues on the car were solved more or less, but I still feels engin vibrate in some certain stage. They told me it was normal, every car will behave like this. As I don't have so much knowledge about car, I choose to believe them. I accept the car and am ok to make payment. What shocked me was that they increased the three years' mechanial warranty from 1000 NZD to 1725 NZD. They said the previous contract we signed is not valid at all and claimed the insurance company is the one to increase the price. They cannot do anything about it. After some discussion with them, they agree to discrease the price and make final price at 1090 NZD which is still higher than the price we agreed last time. I really felt cheated. In the end I paid 260 NZD more on that day. Another thing is the stereo was not installed at all and they arranged to install it for me that day and took me another 2 hours. After installation, the interior was terrible. I have to clean it myself. This was a true story. I give three stars for Jan Japan because they did provide service to me and accomodate me well. But their changing their price on the last day really annoys. I have driven the car for two days and so far it is ok to drive.

Had a wonderful after sales experience a couple of times. We had a mechanical issue and another that we thought was a mechanical issue. Both times they were handled with no fuss. Thanks to Goldi and the team! My daughter is delighted with her Suzuki. I would gladly recommend their services.

Jan Japan is a perfect example of how dealers don't have to use heavy pressure selling tactics to sell cars. After visiting multiple dealers around Auckland with mostly unpleasant experiences, we came across this dealership and bought a car that day. The staff were friendly and honest when answering questions. At no point were we pressured into a sale, and they worked with my budget to find the best car for me. They are also a lot cheaper than most dealers in the area, and ive had the car for almost two months with no issues. Thanks guys.

After searching the internet for car dealerships in Auckland who sold the type of car we were after, JAN JAPAN EAST TAMAKI made my final cut based on their prices and the reviews posted by other customers. When my daughter and I arrived at the car yard it was huge with lots of cars to choose from. However I already knew what car my daughter wanted and we found it fairly easily. We both liked how the same type of cars were together as it made it easy to pick the one car she liked that we could thoroughly focus on. The car was easily accessible for us to do a quick inspection both inside and outside prior to being greeted warmly by Gautam. He is a friendly, helpful and easy person to talk with. If you're wanting to BUY A CAR I recommend you ASK FOR GAUTAM. After a quick introductions, my daughter and I took the car for a short test drive on our own which was a lot better to do as it allowed as to focus on whether the car was in a good, safe working order or not. The car passed our test drive and negotiations began. Again I recommend dealing with Gautam. Although one of the things (battery was charged instead of being changed) I had negotiated in writing were not carried out, this is the only reason I rated the experience with four stars and not five stars. If I wasn't busy that day I would've addressed the issue I have previously highlighted. But we were still happy with how the car had been presented to us when we picked the car up five days later. Thank you Gautum for organising the grooming, servicing, registering, ensuring the air con was in working order, installing the English translated Bluetooth stereo/reverse camera/video and communicating updates on the car. It was appreciated. So far so good the car has handled its first of many long trips between Auckland and Gisborne. I didnt experience any problems with the battery. The air con and stereo work like a dream. The car is smooth and comfortable to drive. My dad who is a mechanic inspected and drove his mokopuna car and gave it the thumbs up. My husband who is an upholsterer said the interior is tidy. No doubt my daughter will do a follow up review upon the cars first wof to give a true reflection of her purchase. My tips to anyone wanting to buy a car. Ask for Gautum. Before you go to the car dealers, make sure you research the type of car you want to buy so you don't feel overwhelmed walking into Jan Japan East Tamaki. If you're not confident at inspecting a car, seek outside advice from someone who is. Good luck with your purchase!

What an amazing company to do business with! Had some small issues with the car that were sorted quickly and without any hassle at all. I've bought quite a number of cars over the years, and Jan Japan would have to be the most friendly, caring and accommodating people.

I stumbled on to this site as I was car hunting for my folks. Had visited 2 car dealers that morning and saw an add for a car at this location. This has such a variety of second hand Japanese imports. I was amazed. We ended buying a Nissan note for my folks and a fair price. The staff were amazing to work with. Aqeel was very flexible and easy going to view cars with and changes the folks had. After which Goldi was also awesome to deal with. Even took us up the road to fill the tank before letting the car Go. Mohammed was fair and reasonable in price negotiations. Every staff member here just made the process so simple, Even Emily made the paper work process prompt and completed. If your after very decent models of cars, don't be fooled by appreances of the lot. Go in and look around before you miss out on a deal. Keep up the great work Jan Japan Motors. :)

Excellent customer service from the local team. Couldn't fault the sales team, they showed me the car fresh from Japan in all it's raw form, to be transparent with everything, and was happy to address minor imperfections, which I pointed. Car was ready in a timely manner and was well groomed (night and day difference from seeing it first time). Only cons from the experience, is that I think the guys that do their initial service (oil change etc) used the wrong oil viscosity (vvti engines usually use thinner oil). Car felt took a long time to warm up, and when I looked on the engine after a long drive, I noted new sludge build up, which was not there when I checked the car from the yard. I had to get its oil changed asap. Lucky I'm a car guy and knew what to look out for. Summary - I'd still buy cars from them in the future, BUT I would have my mechanic change the oil thereafter (just to be sure).

Thanks to Jan Japan East Tamaki team for helping us to buy our new Toyota Ractis, colour purple. Gautam and other guys were nice and professional. Their cars are all of good quality and their service and prices are the best in the city :) Love the car and will be recommending Jan Japan to all my friends and relatives...

From the moment we laid foot in the yard, Aqeel greeted and welcomed us, made us feel comfortable, he knew his cars and what we were after. He exceeded our expectations & totally went out of his way to make sure we were happy after seeing so many cars. We found THE ONE all thanks to him explaining every detail of the car and if there was anything we weren't happy about, he said he will fix. We will DEFINATELY be back to see them again.
