I had a very distressing experience with my original car however, AJ went above and beyond to rectify the matter professionally. The day before and day of receiving my new car I dealt with Kaho who was extremely helpful and had great customer service, she is a great asset to the team. I have dealt with Portage Cars on two occasions and they have been helpful at attending to all of my questions, queries and several calls.

We have recently purchased our car from Portage Cars and we can say that we had an awesome experience with the team considering we live far from Auckland. Communication thru email with Josh was smooth as. He gets back to me in timely manner and answers all my questions and concerns. They have the cheapest delivery fee to our place from other dealers I've talked to and delivered the car on the day we have agreed. Car came in as we expected from the photos. I was honestly told that one of the passenger's seat needs replacing, but they're able to fix it before delivery. No hassle. We are very satisfied with our purchase!! Price was fair :) If you're looking for fair priced and unique car model/color. They have very wide variety to choose from. Trustworthy and easy team to talk to. Highly recommended. Thank you!!

One of the o2 sensors were playing up and they sorted it, even having to work around the lockdowns thanks Sam and Kaho

I recently purchased a Mazda Axela 2015 from Portage Cars. I read their reviews on Google Maps before even going for a test drive. Like all other businesses, they have good, moderate and bad reviews. After reading the reviews, considering their high rating in Google Maps (currently 4.7 stars out of 5 ), I decided to buy the car. During this business, I dealt with AJ. He agreed that I could show the car to my mechanic, and he took the responsibility of sorting out all the issues. Long story short, he delivered all his promises. He even paid for a second FOB key from his pocket, which is not cheap, because there were some delays in delivering his promises, and he wanted to keep me, the customer, happy. So, in my experience in dealing with AJ, I can say that he is the most trustworthy car dealer I have ever dealt with. So well deserved 5 stars. Sidenote: The dealers do not necessarily know every issue of their imported cars. There might be some mechanical issues that haven't been picked up during compliance and WOFs. In my opinion, it is up to us, the buyers, to do our homework. Show the car to your trusted mechanic and find out all the issues before purchasing the car. Make a checklist and pass it on to the dealer and see if they agree to fix all issues. Then, follow up with the dealer to ensure all issues are fixed. I had an excellent experience with Portage Cars on accepting the issues. The fixation process was a bit slow, but what matters to me is that AJ fixed every single issue addressed by my mechanic.

We bought our car from Portage Cars a couple of months ago and found the team really helpful. They didn’t make you feel pressured either which was nice. We were told there was a 3 month window to bring the car back for maintenance if there were any issues and they were really good about honouring this - after hearing a noise related to the brakes we took it in and they had brakes skimmed and new brake pads put on. Thanks!

I have recently purchased a Mazda 6 from Portage Cars and I can confirm that they are a reputable second-hand car dealership with excellent service. Josh and his team are very professional in their work and I would recommend their company to others without hesitation. My car encountered multiple minor issues, but each has been overcome with fast communication and with the immediate implementation of their affiliated mechanical services team. If I ever come across another issue, I am confident Josh and his team will be willing to listen and take action. Very happy with my new car, thanks a lot!

What a journey we went on! ha! I purchased a Mazda CX-3 through AJ, he brought the car up from Hamilton for me to view. Needed a few things sorted on it after purchasing, although this took a bit of time, AJ and I kept the communications open, which is really important. Thanks again, AJ!

Our Daughter was looking at purchasing a vehicle from Portage Cars and put a deposit on a Mazda. The service was excellent, very friendly and helpful with great communication. She decided not to proceed in the end and her deposit was refunded the following day with no fuss whatsoever which was greatly appreciated.

I recently bought Toyota Blade from here and the price was great and car is wonderful. Very good prices and AJ is very good to deal with and the whole process was quick and easy . Especially considering I purchased during level 3 . There is a good selection of quality cars . Something to suit everyone’s price and budget . *Hamilton Branch* My wife and I had a great experience here recently (Dec 2020). The service from Vijay in particular was exceptional, as was the follow up texts he sent me with information on when the car would be ready for pick up keeping me up to date. The team identified and fixed any issues with the car before we picked it up including ones we weren't fully aware of and made sure we were happy afterwards which shows outstanding moral character on behalf of the shop which we didn't seem to be getting elsewhere. Would absolutely highly recommend and would like the chance to thank Vijay again for his immaculate approach, attitude and customer service.

I brought a car unseen while Auckland was in Covid alert level 3. AJ was fantastic to deal with, answering all my queries, sending extra photos and arranging delivery to New Plymouth. Ive had the car for 3 months now and it has been a pleasure to own. Everything is as promised. Thank you so much

I bought a 2010 Mazda Axela recently from Portage Cars. Unfortunately due to some unknown mechanical issues i had to return the car for a refund. To the credit of AJ and his team, their customer service was good, they gave me a pretty nice courtesy car for a week while mine was in the shop and didn't hesitate to offer a refund when the car couldn't be fixed. Overall i'm happy considering all things.

First time going to a car dealership after years of buying private. Straight away the guy was very helpful making a time to view, stood back and let me have a decent look and answered all my questions. Found that the car was a 10,000k more than advertised, body wasnt as immaculate as id liked and there were other issues, however the guy straight away sorted it being repaired, painted, etc on top the already expected service and valet for no extra cost to me! Came back 4 days later and he was true to his word - the car was in a much better condition and the one issue he couldnt fix was fairly discounted off the price. Would 10/10 buy from them again. Professional, approicable, dedicated to customer satisfaction, just to name a few. Thanks so much guys!

So far by my experience in buying cars(which isnt much), Ive met AJ and one other car dealer. Comparing the two, I loved how AJ let his cars do the talking. The other dealer, just blabbered about all the reasons why his cars cost that much and haggling is completely out of the question. I loved how AJ would grab the keys to the car first thing. While the other dealer kept the car locked and his mouth flapping forever. I am quite happy with the sale and the car was a good buy.

Great company! I made a deal with AJ thru email while still being abroad. Got the car reserved 10 days before arrival. Only needed to make a deposit as small as $200. They picked me up at the airport and provided transport to the car yard. At arrival the car had already been serviced and certified with a WOF. Even I already paid a deposit, AJ told me I could still cancel the deal since I didn’t inspect the car yet and only made a deal based on the picture of the online ad. I made a test drive and decided to buy the car. Great value for the price. Registration was done by the company as well. Within 30 min after I decided to buy the car, it was registered in my name and got new license plates. I would recommend this place to buy your self a new car. Great service and friendly staff.
