My 40kw was bought from EV city.
The buyer experience and follow up care and support doesn't even compare against the other car yard. EV City is like fine dinning vs Drive through (the other yard ) Keep in mind the other car yard were also really trustworthy but just less of everything in after sales care.
Jordan has been nothing but honest, supportive and funny.
I really feel very looked after and safe with my purchase.
He has been in touch to check in on how things are going and making sure to be available for any questions or support.
I have already recommend EV City to friends who are looking for an EV.
I will be buying from them again and again. I won't even bother going anywhere else.
Being in Wellington wasn't even a problem and I still felt safe to buy from sight unseen.
The team will call you when your car is ready so you can to a virtual inspection of the car and to be shown around how it works etc.
They also follow up with you when the car arrives to virtually talk you through your questions on how to operate your new space ship.
It has been a really positive and enjoyable experience buying from Jordan and the team.

A quick visit to the local fast charge to top and a brief text exchange with Jordan at EV City and I was able to drop in this morning where his very helpful colleagues exchanged my charging cable, no questions asked, and the car is now plugged in and charging no problem. K.We purchased our 2017 30KWH Leaf through EV City 2 weeks ago and we can't agree more. Jordan, Nick and Rob are very knowledgeable, passionate and yet understanding and , probably most important, non-pushy in their customer approach.
As previous ICE car owners,this made our "plunge" into the World of EV's safe and easy.
Allthough we had previous experience with a Leaf borrowed from a friend and experienced "range anxiety", our questions and concerns were dealt with in an honest, respectful and informative way.
This made our final decision to purchase our Leaf with EV City very easy. Their customer care, even after hours, made us feel welcomed at the (EV) table, never pulled over it.
The decision for the 30KWH model was based on our local transport needs, model year, usage, price and outfit. All of this was considered in the initial talks we had with Jordan and Nick.
They steered us in the direction we felt most comfortable and happy with, based on their unbiased knowledge and personal expertise. (Thanks, Jordan ! :-) ) We have just begun our EV journey and can well and truly recommend the team at EV City.

Couldn't believe how fast they were able to work with their finance company to approve a sale, and we were able to test drive and walk away within just a few hours (half even via text message). Purchasing a car sight unseen was not a problem either as Jordan organised a video chat so we could see all the features of the car, check tyres, interior and exterior. We opted for the conversion to English Maps ( highly recommend) and then EV City trucked our car down to Queenstown and delivered to our door free of charge !
Now I have my Leaf I notice so many others in Queenstown and the majority have EV City plate surrounds. We would highly recommend EV City Christchurch if you are looking at an electric vehicle.
W.I was looking to purchase a vehicle without being able to see it because I live in Auckland. The staff with whom I interacted during the process each gave me the confidence to do so. An extensive video-conferencing call with one of the staff (suggested by Dave and undertaken by Jordan) - in which I was shown through the car, my questions answered and a list of things drawn up to be addressed with the car - was pivotal in my decision to buy the vehicle. So too was the personable nature of each of the staff. Also of comfort was that each of the four staff with whom I interacted in the course of things knew about the car, of my interest in it, and of the issues that were to be addressed in the course of my purchase. The process spoke to me of the staffs' competence as a team and the trustworthiness of the business.
D.These guys have broken the mold of used car salesmen. They are informed, polite, respectful, helpful, courteous and generous with their time.

G.If you're looking to get an EV but have your doubts about how you'll manage the transition, the boys at EV City promise a unique buying experience. Not even once did I feel like I was getting sold a car. Instead I felt like I was talking to a bunch of people more knowledgeable than myself, presenting them with a problem and hearing them propose a solution. They're always open to discussions, reaffirming what you already know or shoring up your knowledge on going green car-wise. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, answered every question we had about electric vehicles. There were two Nissan Leafs I had seen listed on trademe that we wanted to have a look at, and after listening to our needs Jordan steered us in the direction of the one which is now our new car.
(I had always thought the nissan leaf to be a small car, but it fits carseats and strollers with ease and still room to move)
They made the purchase a simple process even with trading in our previous vehicle, explained the rebate process and helped set us up with chargenet, the fast charging network across New Zealand.

and I don't mean they did not care or were not attentive, because nothing could be further from the truth. Over 3 days in the past week, I went from being an interested party to having a wife drive away in a car today.
It was, however, the journey itself that was so easy (and as EVeryone keeps saying 'it is now a no brainer to own one' too) hand held all the way and never was it a 'dumb' question (EVen if it was it nEVer showed in their reply) which was always informative, easy to understand and jargon free; not just about the car either, but how home and public chargers work, setting up access / Apps on Karens phone, the list of 'service' given by these guys would be huge if we listed them all.
As you might imagine, we think these guys should gets (and deserve) a 12 out of 10) rating. Had great fun with them setting up my wife too 😀 - she had no idea she was even going to see a car today, not alone drive one away.

W.Very early this year I bought a Nissan Leaf with the larger size battery from the folk at EV City in Christchurch. It goes like a dream.
It's first task was, loaded with household possessions to the n-th degree, to convey me from Christchurch to my new home in Tuarapere, western Southland. The route was via the Mackenzie Country, the Lindis Pass, Cromwell and Frankton. The Leaf handled it all just so easily. Whenever recharging was needed, there was a charging station available. Over the past few months, there have been regular trips to Invercargill - an hour each way. No trouble for the Leaf at all
And the dashboard features are amazing

It can be confusing going from an ICE {internal combustion engine} to an EV. Battery health, charging and driving modes instead of petrol consumption miles and timing belts!
They had a range of vehicles to show us and to test drive.
They sourced a car in our price range, checked it from top to tires and changed the computer system to English. They arranged our pick up by personally going thorough almost every aspect of the vehicle. The vehicle, 6 years old, looked like brand new.
Their customer care was exceptional, no wonder this company has so many 5 star reviews.

P.EV City Christchurch was fantastic to deal with. I am 81 and I bought a 2014 Leaf in 2015. I loved it. It was so much better than a petrol car and as most of my travel was around the City it was ideal for me. I had ‘no range anxiety’. I charged, when needed, in my garage at night. In fact I cannot understand why people have two petrol cars. They should get one electric car at least. In reality they should have two because if they do feel ‘range anxiety’ they can a hire car when they want to travel long distances. I have heard a brand new Leaf does 400ks per charge. Now no range anxiety there. Anyway I had a flood and my Leaf was written off so I bought another from EV City Christchurch who were recommended by another electric car driver. It is early days but it works just the same and I have so many different extras with my new 2017 model. I am happy. EV City listened to me and my requirements and delivered. What more can you ask for?

Bought my first 2016 Leaf in December 20, sold it few days ago to upgrade. It was checked by buyer’s mechanic and was happy to be confirmed that the car was in very good condition.
I clearly considered dealing again with evcity or somewhere else.
I have been really scared witnessing some kind of electrician « fixing » a car on another dealer’s yard, with obviously random parts of used electrical harnesses, picked up from the back of his car.
Considering the included mechanical warranty, the professionalism, their knowledge, kindness, the quality of vehicles bought in Japan, there is no point taking any risk going anywhere else, for (maybe) saving a wee bit of money. I know that, if I want to upgrade again in few years, I will be confident about the car I will put on the market.
d.A great team to deal with. I was buying from out of town and it was hassle free. Communication was clear. They know their stuff. Did a video call to go over the car. They were happy to answer all my questions. Car arrived as expected in great condition and wife loves it. I send my thanks to the whole team at EV City.
E.Hardest review I have had to write so far...
We brought a BMW i3, great car, absolutely love it, and the service from EV City was great...
Unfortunately, not long after purchasing the car, we noticed issues...
Long story short, the car had issues with the electrics to do with the main battery, a very rare fault apparently, and parts were required...
The parts took forever, and when they finally came and were installed, it did not fix the issue, it actually got worse and more parts were required...
Unfortunately, due to covid-19, supply chain issues etc etc, this car was out of action for 6/7 months, we only got to drive it for about 6 weeks...
EV City did their best to look after us, never questioned the issue, just took ownership and tried to get it fixed at local BMW shop, EV City were going to pay all repair costs, and they organised another BMW for us to use while ours was at the shop.... Bravo EV City
It was not EV City's fault, but due to lousy timing with Covid-19, the repair job just dragged on far to long.
In the end, I requested EV City refund the car and they did, I want to personally commend Dave for sorting this issue, which was no fault of their own, just really bad luck.

J.We had to do our first after hours call out to EV City. Our Leaf didn't want to start. We phoned then after 19:00 and Dave was on scene within 5 minutes. Replaced the battery and waited until my wife safely drove away. Awesome service and thank you so much!
