The Team are very Efficient, Professional and extremely helpful. I cannot recommend Patrick and the team enough! I had purchased a 2013 Subaru WRX Blizzard Edition from a dealership which led to a very upsetting moment on the 3rd day of owning the vehicle, I had a slipped bearing issue in the block . Patrick from day one was super helpful and Efficient. The result was a New Engine and New Turbo. Now I have a car which I can enjoy driving, knowing that I had the right team work on it for me! I have been back a couple of times for daily servicing and checks. They Never fail to impress! Once again can’t thank Patrick and the team enough for helping me.

At the end of last year I bought a classic WRX STI v5 GC8. Some bad luck (though to be expected of a JDM performance car 21 years old) I ran in to head gasket troubles driving it back from the South Island. I immediately made contact with PBMS and spoke to Patrick Frick (Managing director) Even as busy as their workshop is they were able to start on it right away which I appreciated greatly. Patrick was very knowledgeable and helpful and even though I probably pestered him a lot throughout the repair he always remained enthusiastic and kept me up to date at every turn. I ended up doing a full v7 short block build with "all the goodies". The quality of the workmanship was outstanding. Being a diesel mechanic myself I have some idea what to look for and I could tell these guys know their stuff and do everything to fullest. I would never have been able to do this repair/build to the level of quality that they have. Not only was Patrick great but his team were equally great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Daniel even let me sit in with him while he tuned my car on the dyno which was an awesome experience. (Highly recommend Daniel) Last but not least they always use quality parts made in the UK/US/AUS (Not China) Now I have peace of mind that I have a well built, solid and reliable engine that should last me a long time. I will never take my car anywhere else as long as I own it. Thomas

Absolutely by far the best place to take any JDM car. From servicing to tuning Patrick and the guys at PBMS know exactly what they are doing an provide and exceptional and friendly experience. Had taken my BRZ numerous places when it was having issues and no one could solve the issue. These guys had it sorted within hours and have never had issues since. Well priced and a great experience all around. For any JDM owners out there, this is the best place to take your ride!

First of all a big thank you to Patrick and the team for their help on tuning my car. If you're looking for a tuner, this is the place to go! They treat you like family and make you feel at ease with any questions you have! The hospitality is amazing from the team and they help you understand how the car will perform with the tune given. I have a custom tune and the team did an awesome job on attending to my needs. The prices are fair and reasonable as they have high quality workmanship and experience in the field with working/tuning cars. If you want something specific speak your mind and the team will listen and even provide feedback so you can have your car tuned to your specification. The tunes and work are done safe and conservatively so you don't put stress on your engine/turbo etc, keep up the awesome work PBMS! I'll be coming back for more!

You can tell the team at PBMS put pride and effort into the work they do. After my Secondary Air Pump failed, I took my new 2010 WRX STi in to get the pump removed and for a general service. Patrick was very genuine and friendly, and listened to what questions I had about my new car. You can tell their customers are important to them. Knowing the history of PBMS and as I drove my car in, I knew I was right at home. Had a fantastic, smooth drive home and have to applaud Possum Bourne Motorsport for their great work! I'll make the couple hours drive to Auckland whenever I need the Subi serviced. Well done.

Possum awesome！ I know the workshop for a long time. Patrick let me did a last minute booking and work overtime to help me check my forester headgasket problem. They are nice and helpful. and every single invoice and quotation are come with explanation of whole working process. Courtesy car are beautiful and you can be a superstar on the road. they give customer some advice about how to save money and best solutions. this is the best workshop so far I think?! oh I forgot they use subaru genuine parts! I can’t recommend PBMS enough! Patrick and the team are super friendly and helpful. They tuned my 2011 WRX with minor bolt-ons to 219KW at the wheels, way more than I was expecting! They also went the extra mile to tune in a few pops/bangs and sometimes, flames! I couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out 😃. If you’re looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and well-priced place to tune your Subaru, PBMS is the place to go!

I had excellent experience with PBMS. I drove 8hrs to get there as I know they are that good. I had over boosting and under powered issues caused by previous tuning. PBMS managed to fix that all within short period I was visiting them. Highly recommend this tuner and engine builder. Right now I'm planning bigger things for my car with them.

Best Dyno tuning and workshop company in NZ! I had my STI Forester recently tuned here and was impressed beyond expectations! their team is highly trained and professional in every aspect, customer service was way above expectations as I had a last minute issue as they were closing, so they quickly diagnosed the issue and stored it on the spot!! - highly impressed!!!!!!

These guys are the best in the business. I had my Subaru fitted with a large turbocharger and tuned to make 500hp out of it’s 4 cylinder motor which has now lasted well over 2.5 years and 60,000km!

Honestly their services is very educational, and utmost friendly. I would love to keep working with them for my car needs however they took over 1 year just for their own dyno since Gary left. And their pricing can be over the moon as well. I would love to return, but I have already begun work with E & H, otherwise I would come here and I can only stay loyal to 1 company.

To start, I will say that PBMS are on the expensive side. However, you absolutely get what you pay for, They are completely worth every single cent. Customer service is absolutely Sublime, all of the staff are absolutely lovely to deal with and interact. Heck, the first time I ever went there, with nothing more than an enquiry, I was given a full tour of the workshop by Patrick. The level of knowledge and Workmanship is absolutely brilliant, and they are always happy go give advice and suggestions to suit your needs. Even down to the invoices, you get a detailed document explaining exactly what work they did and how they did it, which provides great peace of mind. If you have a performance car that you want looked after, PBMS is the place to go - They even were excited to work on my honda.

I cannot recommend Patrick and the team enough! From booking in the vehicle to communication to post work service is just unbelievable! Booking was so seamless, Patrick talked me through their processes of their 9-step tuning process on how they make sure your vehicle is safe pre-tune and post-tune. Asked me what power goals I’m after, max boost, current modifications etc.. Even did me a huge favour on a touch-up tune on a weekend! Pushing great numbers from a 1.6T engine, can safely say is the fastest MR16DDT Pulsar in NZ! I highly recommend PBMS to anyone needing any vehicle work done, especially vehicle tuning! I will definitely be back for all my future cars! Cheers team!

Absolutely awesome bunch! when it came to tuning, Patrick and his team assured me that with confidence. Their product and technical knowledge was bible. Gave me great advise for mine turbo Legacy prior to tuning and up grads I needed before the tune to chase for the power i was looking for. The first time that I arrived at Possum Bourne, Julius took me for a tour around the garage explaining what they were doing and how good they could totally modified, improved or just maintained a customer car, based on their expectation. In my case, the result after a few times coming at the garage to drop off my Subaru was always above my expectation. I've always been impressed how efficient the team is. Also very friendly, passionate and taking time to share and talk about cars.

My car was in a real bad way!!! I had been to 2 mechanics previously and the work they did was lucky to have my car running for 2 months before more problems I contacted Patrick at Possum Bourne Motorsport who sent a guy out to look over my car organised everything and kept me up to date about everything happening with my car. Thanks very much to the whole team at PBMS for their excellent service, communication and work provided. My JDM legacy Wagon now has a real Subaru sound from the invidia Q300 with high flow downpipe and above stock Impreza STi power levels with all the flat spots smoothed out from the dyno tune. Thanks again and I’m sure I’ll be back again one day for more power!!

I received the recall notice from Subaru for the valve springs to be replaced in my BRZ. My worry, apart from fixing something that wasn't broken, my engine was no longer stock and Patrick and his very professional team helped put my mind at ease with taking on the removal and reinstall of my Harrop Supercharger. He then dealt with Winger Pukekohe to have the recall sorted on my behalf and oversaw the operation from start to finish. In my opinion PBMS are THE team for all your mechanical needs and mods. Communication was very open and clear. I highly recommend with all confidence you contact Patrick for your servicing and any modifications.

There's very few performance shops in nz that are trustworthy, reliable and do amazing work. PBMS is right up there at the top. Patrick, Julius and the team have worked on my car over the last months, and have built it to such a high standard of quality and performance. The car is now an absolute beast! These guys did a really good job tuning my wrx 2014. It was really obvious they added a lot of power. But I didnt appreciate just how good the tune was because of the intake I chose (cobb SF intake & box). To everyone considering intakes, these cars like consistent temperatures. That Cobb box lets a lot of hot air into the intake and you get big shifts in temps. Iv since sealed the box, my powerband moved to the left by 1000 rpm and now I get a big torque snap at 3500rpm. Tune wise my car runs a lot smoother than stock. I had inconsistent power with stock tune and 2nd gear sucked. 2nd gear now has balls which makes roundabouts awesome and it pulls to the redline with every shift. If your worried about problems that come with modifying cars, dont be. If there are any problems with the tune or installs they will tweak it under their warranty. Patrick is awesome to deal with, really good communication skills and he's extremely helpful with any questions you have. As an example we are putting together an arduino carputer to tackle VDC issues from a quick ratio steering rack I installed at the mo. In contrast Torque performance didn't even respond to my request for a quote for a tune. Im glad they didn't now. Your in good hands with PBMS.

First time there , Julius took me for a tour around the garage . Showing the different builds and what they do and how they look after the cars . Took my Subaru there for a full build (SleeperSTI) Julius was keeping me updated by taking photos of the process and what’s happening . Loved the outcome of my subie and still happy with it to this day . Good workmanship, everyone so friendly, professional at what they do . Recently purchased a VW Golf Mk6 R. Contacted Patrick (who has looked after my Evo for many years) to discuss maintaining/modifying the Golf. They performed a PBMS service and a APR Stage 1 tune for the engine and DSG. Car runs faultlessly with excellent hp/torque gains while improving driveability. Whether its Japanese or European Pat and the team can service/tune/modify etc to your needs at the highest level. Regards, Shaun

If you are looking to get your Subaru Done Up .. PBMS the place .. I built a Subaru Forester SH5 (Very unusual build , some custom work). PBMS helped me with build advice and tuning and other bits and pieces, the car getting a huge power increase approx 200 HP to 315 HP at wheels, tune is smooth and as good as factory. More plans to get to 500 HP mark and definitely PBMS is the place i'm going to get help from. Apart from all Pat has time to talk to his customers regardless how busy he is and he is willing to give you guidance if you are building your own.
