This is the first time I've purchased a car online, sight unseen (other than photos), or a test drive. Steve made the whole process so easy I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. He was patient taking time to answer my questions, and provided great advice. If you're considering buying an EV I highly recommend Drive EV.

The pre and post sales help and information from Drive EV was fantastic, thanks. Steve really helped me work out what would suit us best, and took the worry away. The car was exactly as expected, and we are very happy with it. There was a small issue (outside Steve's control - a stone chip during delivery), and Drive EV went the extra mile to get it sorted, which was really appreciated. Thanks Steve! Highly recommended!

We have Purchased Nissan Leaf 2013 (Private Sale) English Dash But Japan Stereo Display We Looked For Nissan Head Unit language Conversion, After Searching WOW we got a few Dodgy Traders Even Offering Half price We know of another one that really Screwed up the Dash – LUCKY We went with Drive EV Taupo, The service was Great, They had the Video what to do But It went wrong for me (MY MISTAKE) But Phone call to them was Easy Friendly, Fixed Over the Phone. The price Was Great Because of the Service Now we have a Full English Car That We Love & It Fixed The Clock & NZ Maps, Bluetooth & More All for $300.00 What more could you ask For, Thank you & We will be Back.

Can't say enough good things about these guys. Steve and Jay came to our rescue after we managed to get our Nissan Leaf stranded in the middle of nowhere. They went well out of their way to get us a charging cable so we could get going again, and even provided a loan vehicle so we could get back to our vehicle. It's hard to imagine they made much profit on the $270 cable sale, but they were very friendly and good natured about it all. Top blokes. Our lesson from all of this was: always carry a charging cable in the car! The fast charging (50kw) stations always have cables, but if you can't reach one of those you'll need to use a slower charger instead. There are loads of Type 2 (7kw) chargers around - many motels have them - but you are expected to provide your own cable (Type 2 to whatever your car needs - Type 1 for our Leaf). Jay recommended carrying the following 'emergency kit' everywhere: 1. Type 2 to Type 1 / 2 cable 2. Trickle charger (regular mains socket) 3. Heavy duty extension cord (technically you're not supposed to use these, but if you're in a bind and that trickle charger won't quite reach the power socket...) We'll be carrying this kit everywhere from now on - it's the EV equivalent of a spare tyre!

Best knowledge around. Amazing service, I had many questions and Steve answered them all. I never felt rushed or pressured. Steve did a great job and helped in every way possible. Would highly recommend, and I'll certainly buy from Steve again in the future. Thank you. 🙂

Lots of EVs for sale here and Steve was really helpful. They have a selection of different charging cables and can get eScooters in to order.

Drive EV literally saved us. After getting ourselves stranded in National Park (fast charger was broken), we tried ordering a cable through EV's website. Ordering was easy, but the cable was not going to arrive before we left our bach due to rural courier times. The guys at Drive EV were amazingly helpful and offered to bring us a cable from Taupo at no extra charge. They then went above and beyond after it turned out we'd ordered the wrong cable. Honestly amazing service - cables are comparatively cheap (I'm sure not a huge profit margin) and the level of service they provided was exceptional. I would recommend that everyone go to Drive EV - such awesome people. When we're ready to upgrade our Leaf, we will be driving to Taupo! I've recommended them to everyone I know.

Bought the Nissan LEAF CarWings language conversion from Drive EV and 100% completely satisfied with the whole experience. The product just works. It's not the easiest process but it's very simple and the instructions are as clear as possible, Steve is so responsive on the comms. Great service. Thanks!

I purchased the Nissan Leaf English Language and NZ Map Conversion update for my Nissan Leaf. The head unit was previously in Japanese. The Sim Card came the very next day. I followed the excellent video instructions on how to do it as well as spoke to Steven a couple of times. It was all very easy to do. I am totally amazed at the end results! Not only does my GPS work and my phonebook, but I discovered features that I didn't even know that I had! Well worth it and clearly a very professional company. Highly recommended!

Absolutely been a pleasure dealing with this company, communication has been amazing Steven has to be the most patient person ever with all my questions, highly recommend to anyone looking at purchasing or just general inquiries he is so helpful and knowledgeable. This Company have made it Their Mission to import Extremely Rare Eletric Vehicles not sold in NZ directly by car manufacturers such as the VW ID.3 and Honda E and while prices they have are a little pricey for those cars you can be rest assured knowing not many people will have them adding to the exclusivity factor while saving the enviroment from tailpipe emissions Good Job Drive EV Your making our future Proud 👍

Took plenty of time to ensure we picked the right car. Showed us all the controls, set up chargenet accounts, showed us how to charge. Never worried about the time, even though we were there long after they were supposed to close. Great knowledge of ev's and the market, and no sales pressure at all. Highly recommended.
