Highly recommend!! Awesome vans with everything you need for an awesome holiday. The van we hired had a fridge, running water, pull out kitchenette with a gas grill, pans and cutlery, enough battery to charge your devices, loads of storage space and a bed that comfortably sleeps two. Absolutely loved having everything with you at all time, made roadtripping way more enjoyable when you could just reach bag and grab a cold drink from the fridge or stop and whip up a snack using your little kitchen. Andy is a very friendly and helpful, made the experience positive. Will definitely use this company again if we dont end up buying our own camper. Thanks Andy!! Ben and Emma.

We decided on out trip last minute and landed in Auckland on 27th December with nothing booked. Luckily we managed to find a campervan with Epic campers (due to a cancelation of another client). We had an awesome trip up North, the campervan has everything you need and Andy was very helpful and accommodating!

Flawless experience with Andy and the team at Epic campers! Just before I was about to leave, he noticed a small issue (loose screw on the slide-out draw) and fixed it up on the spot to make sure the van was 100% ready for the journey. I initially booked a 2 month trip, but ended up extending it to 3 months because I was having that much fun and the van was the perfect way to see the country. I can't recommend Epic enough and will 100% be booking again next time I'm back. Support your local independent operators and you will be well looked after; not just another number on the books. Our experience of Epic Campers was awesome, from beginning to end. Andy was so helpful, right through from enquiry to saying goodbye to our beloved van, Phoebe. The vans themselves are great - they've clearly put lots of thought into the design of the interior, and the extra touches like the delicious coffee they provide, to the windscreen chip repair kit (which was an absolute lifesaver for us) make a big difference. Whenever we had questions, we got a reply straight away. We looked at lots of other hire companies and we felt that the pricing was very vague and what actual van you would end up with was a mystery - with epic campers you know exactly what you are getting, and the pricing is really clear. I couldn't recommend them any more.

Renting a van through Epic was one of the best decisions I made for my NZ trip. It was all slightly last minute and Andy was super accommodating, understanding and helpful in planning and getting it all sorted! Having a pickup/drop off in Christchurch made for an easy transition and the van itself was clean and functional and actually ridiculously comfortable to sleep in! Despite some pesky bugs on the first few nights camping in Arthur's Pass and a couple of rainy hikes, visiting NZ is up there with one of the best adventures I've ever taken. Traveling solo isn't for everyone and isn't always easy, but this van was the perfect thing to make it all come together. It was really good on fuel and super easy to put the bed up and down if you just wanted to sit rather than lay down for lunch when the weather was bad. NZ is amazing, the people are unreal and you feel like your constantly driving inside a postcard. I couldn't recommend Epic more, plus, the outside paint job means it actually looks quite groovy in pics. Thanks again team Epic

Just awesome. Lots of thought put into the vans and excellent service from Andy and Nick. The mattress was so comfortable - better than hostels and Airbnbs. Some suggested items to pack (along with the essentials): - Quick drying cloth for clearing up condensation - Laundry line or coat hanger for drying clothes - Large chopping knife - Tupperware & zip loc bags for lunches & leftovers - Slides (instead of jandals) so you can wear warm socks - Tote bags and packing cubes to keep stuff organised Some helpful apps: - Gaspy to compare fuel prices - Campermate for camping spots and amenities - Google Maps to download offline maps

Just wanting to thank you for the use of Bessie, a fantastic little camper. We had a great time. We loved the fact that Bessie was smaller than most campers but definitely large enough to provide us with a very comfortable home for our 10 nights. She had plenty of room, was great to drive and easy to park.

Great little camper! We had an Epic Camper for 2 Months everything worked perfectly. Cooking facility that pulls out the back is great quality and is so ideal, life made so easy (great crockery to!). I would highly recommend EPIC Campers for all your on the road, self contained, camper needs! Andy was incredibly helpful from the start. I booked very last minute (Less than 24 hours) and heard back from Andy within the hour. He was extremely helpful in fully explaining all the ins and outs of the camper and it was very easy to navigate even for a first timer like myself. The camper itself was perfectly equipped with everything you would need and easy and convenient to use. The campers are all well looked after and maintained which makes it a very easy and stress free experience. They also provide extra information on what to do if anything goes wrong and are there to assist if needed as well. By far the best campervans in NZ! The vans are very modern, the bed is super comfortable, fully equipped kitchen, including salt, pepper and cooking oil. Everything was spotless! They provide a double USB charger, AUX cable, windscreen repair kit and washing up equipment without extra charge like other companies do. Besides that, Andy is so helpful and easy to contact. Can't recommend EPIC Campers highly enough. Andy was fantastic to deal with and very accommodating. Having travelled NZ a couple of times in campers, the set up of the vans at EPIC is ingenious. Everything has a place which makes it easy to keep organised, yet the van was small enough to go over the hills and park in towns without any issue. Perfect for our 2 month trip. Perfect van, perfect service. So glad we could use our money to support a small local NZ business. Infinitely better experience than the big name motorhome rental companies we have used in the past.

We had an amazing experience with Epic Campers, Andy was really amazing, always willing to help, with this all covid thing we were not to sure if we were going to be able to travel, he was always willing to support even to refund our money in case we could not have gone to Auckland. We had Henry as a Van, best van ever, no problems at all, pretty much $80 for a full tank, very spacious in the back very well designed, in general was amazing our experience. I sincerely hope that Epic Campers survives the world shutdown of tourism due to Covid-19 as they certainly deserve to. Their level of service stands out way above other companies and they have done a fine job of converting their small vans into very comfortable campers. I did a lot of research and read many reviews by fellow travellers before booking my van for a three week solo adventure. I am so pleased that I decided to choose Epic Campers. They exceeded my expectations and I wouldn’t consider any other company for future travels in New Zealand. Andy, the owner, genuinely cares about his clients and does everything he can to ensure a memorable road trip. He is easy to communicate with, both before and during your van rental, and thorough in acquainting you with your home on wheels before you head off. The interior layout is cleverly designed, thoughtfully considered and easy to live in. My van “The Voyager” was spotlessly clean inside and out. It’s compact design wants for nothing and is very easy to drive on New Zealand’s winding and sometimes narrow roads and to park. If you are looking for a small self-contained van to tour New Zealand and have found Epic Campers, consider yourself fortunate. They are definitely the company to book.

After we've read the references of three campervan companies which offered us a van for a cheap price we almost cancelled our plan to rent a vehicle in NZ as the comments written were mostly bad. It looked like the chance to have a good experience was around 50/50. Then Andy from Epic Campers sent us a very kind message with an offer that was a bit higher than the other three mentioned above. But after comparing references and vehicle we realized that renting a van from Andy will assure a positive renting- experience. And it truly was like that. As my wife and me traveled with our few month old daughter he offered us the Toyota Hiace which is slightly longer than his other campervans and in this van it is also possible to put a baby seat in the front. The bed was very comfy and the vehicle was equipped with everything you need for sleeping, cooking and washing dishes. The vehicle was in a very good shape and it was a pleasure to drive it. As it's a small company you've direct contact with the owner (Andy) who is a sympathetic guy taking good care of his vehicles. If you're looking for a hassle-free rental don't hesitate to go for Epic Campers. In case the offer should be higher than from other companies don't worry because you get what you pay for. I recommend to have an insurance that covers the excess of his insurance. We had a chipped stone in the windscreen and signed only for the basic insurance of Epic Campers. We payed Andy for the damage and reclaimed the cost successfully from our travel insurance (Zurich). Make sure that they also cover campervans/motorhomes

The attention to detail with the camper fit out was amazing, which made our vacation all the more enjoyable. I rang Epic Campers at lunchtime to see if there was any chance they had a free camper for a four day roadie-I was on the road by 5pm the same day in a fabulous, fully kitted out campervan with every mod con you need for a fun getaway. The bed was comfy, everything was clean and tidy and fabulous. I loved it so much I’m going to buy a van myself and do it up in a similar way. Love the layout, the price was the same as the cheapest big companies online-support local, these guys are amazing, get out there and do it!!

Our campervan rental with EPIC campers was the most exceptional experience and gave us the opportunity to explore New Zealand the best way possible. Andy of EPIC campers was very helpful from the start - our options, additional equipment, functionality of the van and pricing was clear. We exchanged multiple e-mails with additional questions, and even asked if we could borrow some kitchen equipment before our rented trip, and Andy was always quick to reply and helped us out a lot. When starting our trip he took the time to explain everything, make sure all equipment was working and we knew how to operate it. You really feel that he wants to have his customers to have a good experience. The van turned out to be perfect for our purposes. We had originally planned to rent a larger vehicle including built-in kitchen and sanitary facilities with a different company, but in retrospect we are glad that we came across EPIC campers. During our trip we came across all sizes of campervans and often valued the flexibility that comes with a smaller vehicle. You can park in spots for regular cars, need less space on (sometimes) crowded campgrounds, and the van is easier (and faster) to drive on the curvy NZ roads. Since we wanted to see as much as possible in our four weeks trip, this was definitely a bonus. And: not to forget - the EPIC camper was WAY cheaper than the campervans with built-in shower and kitchen. In comparison with the other option we were looking into, it was less than half the price. Despite being small, it had everything we needed. We had mostly nice weather, so we enjoyed cooking at the back of the vehicle, the power converter and multiple USB outlets helped us charge our phone, camera batteries and other electronics, and sleeping was super cosy. Vans are well designed for optimum use. For the saved $ we could regularly stay at the nicest campgrounds so we never felt we were missing anything. Would rent with EPIC campers again anytime.

Andy and crew are the very best! We visited New Zealand with our two year old from Alaska and Andy made it possible to comfortably camp in a van for 2 months!!! With a TODDLER!!! Everything about the van was clean and proper and beyond expectations. Andy made sure we had everything we needed and communicated promptly when necessary. Both Andy and Nick are great to deal with. You get a 24/7 personal support from Andy (owner) if anything happens, and you can really tell he cares about the vans and the company. We had a Mazda bongo which was great to drive and use as a camper. Plenty of space in compartments, an electric converter for charging phones, laptops etc, electric water pump, fridge and a big, comfy bed. If renting in winter I’d recommend renting the extra heater and power cord for use in camps. All in all it was a great experience and would come back again.

We hired a van for 3 weeks, which turned into 3 months as we continuously extended our tour of post-lockdown New Zealand. The personal and attentive service from the owner and his partner in Christchurch made the hire experience easy. We appreciated the quality of the kitchen instruments provided. Simple things like a great nonstick pan, sharp knives, and provided salt, pepper, and oil make it easier to adjust on your first night in a campervan. These Mazda vans are small, but this means they are incredibly easy to drive. No fussing about where to park and maneuvering. It's easy to underappreciate how the ease of driving a smaller vehicle contributes to a stress-free trip - we covered 5000kms to loop the south island, with many narrow, winding, or gravel roads in the mountains. While not large inside, it is possible to effectively seat 4 inside for a game of cards. Touring during winter, we were warm enough using all of the extra blankets provided (4 total) with some nights getting below 0 degrees. The kitchen sets up outside, under the back door. On most nights we faced either cold, rain, or sandflies and chose to cook inside with our portable camping stove rather than open up the cabin to use the kitchen. The canopy cover for the rear area might be nice for those planning to rely on the provided kitchen set up. Epic camper's vans are a great choice for an adventurous individual or couple that plans to cover a lot of distance and wants to freedom camp.

We had a perfect 6-week trip, among others because of the great van and service of Andy from Epic campers! All the campers have names, which shows the personal touch and attention you get after you hire at this company. Owner Andy created and designed all the campers himself with a very smart and comfortable design. The campers are relatively small, but have just enough space for everything you need. As a Dutch 188 cm tall guy, I was especially pleased with the good, long and spacious bed! During our trip we could always reach Andy via phone or Whatsapp and we got loads of handy travel tips. Would very much recommend anyone to rent at Epic Campers!

We hired an Epic camper for a month, Auckland to Auckland. The campervan is wonderful. So cleverly designed, with love and care. It is a great size, small enough to be easy to drive, yet the design makes use of the limited space fantastically. Great kitchen, cooking setup, really comfy bed and just about enough storage. We had the most amazing time and our Epic camper made it perfect.

We took our Epic camper for 3 weeks from Auckland down to Christchurch. From our first request for information through our entire trip, Andy was extremely responsive to our questions (and friendly!). He gave us a thorough rundown of the features of the van when we picked it up. I was happy with the size of Betsy (our van) - it was large enough to sleep 2 comfortably, but wasn't so bulky or top-heavy that I felt unsafe on the NZ roads. The slide-out counter for food prep was a great use of space (especially compared with some of the other options we saw people fighting with at campsites). My only concern is that at 6'1" I had to crouch to see around tight right turns (otherwise vision was impared) - which got uncomfortable on some of the mountainous stretches.

From an easy pick up, explanation of how the van works, always In touch if you have any questions, and smooth return of the vehicle we couldn’t ask for a better rental experience. There is so much thought put into every aspect of the fit out for each van. With ample storage space thought out to fit what you need perfectly, a great outdoor kitchen set up and an easy to pull out, comfortable bed. We never worried about the condition of the van as it had low kilometres and had obviously been well taken care off. Picking epic as our camper van company was the best choice we made! They care so much about their customers satisfaction and made these vans to be the cutest home on wheels!

I spent 3 weeks travelling the south island and had an amazing time. I was worried about it being cold at night but even as far down as Queenstown it was pretty cosy! It came with everything I needed to cook with and the fridge was extremely useful to keep my beers and bacon cold. Shared with a mate for some of the trip and there was plenty of space for us and our luggage. Andy was awesome to deal with too. An Epic adventure for sure!

We really enjoyed our camper, the vans aren't big, but put together in a very smart way so it never felt crammed. We rented a campervan in Auckland and travelled down to Rotorua! It was our first trip in a campervan ever and we found epic campers were perfect for this! The campervan was designed perfectly to maximise our space and was surprisingly comfy and warm! Andy was extremely helpful the whole way through, from booking to being on the road! We were able to message him when we needed and he was able to answer questions and help. This was really helpful to us as this was our first trip like this. Our experience with Epic campervans was excellent. From the first email to enquirer about a van to the last after we dropped the van off all communications were prompt. The van was super clean and Andy gave us a detailed explanation on the operation of the van before we hit the road. Being a smaller van the handling and maneuverability made fitting into small parking spots and driving on narrow roads easy. The layout with the kitchen off the back was a great use of space. We stayed dry when cooking in a light rain shower as the boot provides good cover. The bed, sheets and comforter were all more comfortable than we ever expected.

Totally loved our two weeks with Epic Campers driving from Auckland to Christchurch. The van was in excellent condition and everything just worked the way it should. We had a jucy van for 8 days before we used this Epic Camper. And I can honestly say it was a massive improvement from the Jucy Condo. There was just two of us and the epic camper was the perfect size, and had more storage that just made sense. Especially having two sliding doors on each side, was just wonderful in itself. It is more effort to make the bed if you plan on eating at the table everynight, and in winter it is cold to cook outside, but overall we were much more impressed with the Epic Camper :)
