Hired a camper through Mighway, that was "Mighway Managed" - the owner lives overseas and obviously pays Mighway to manage their asset on behalf.
Despite getting confirmation the night before that the camper would be ready to pick up from the Christchurch depot... I was met by some nice young fellas from another company who had know idea what I was there for. They said there were no staff from Mighway working (Tuesday) and weren't aware of the booking.
They kindly sorted it for me (around their own customers... thanks fellas!). Took 2 hours for them to find the camper and prepare it to an acceptable standard.
Great idea putting consumers in touch with RV owners, but I wouldn't bother renting a "Mighway Managed" camper again - if you're using Mighway I would find the ones that are managed by the actual owner is my suggestion!
Overall the camper itself was great, but the mismanagement by Mighway brought the experience down for us hence the 3 stars. Feel bad for the owners overseas who are no doubt paying a premium for their RV to be managed effectively.

Our first motorhome experience with Mighway was a great one! Steve and Lyn were prompt at replying to our queries before the trip. They also provided us with a link to an orientation video so we could familiarise ourself with its features and equipment prior to picking it up. They made things easier by driving the motorhome to Auckland Airport and allowing us to drop it off there on return so we could make our flight in time. Steve provided advice when we had questions whilst we were away and he ensured that the handover at the airport was efficient and smooth. We would highly recommend “This is it”; a modern, spacious and tidy motorhome with everything you need for a great kiwi holiday.

The van was immaculate and was well kitted out with everything to make our holiday an excellent experience. Patricia was really helpful suggesting places to stay which perfectly suited the wishes we had expressed to her.
We found the manual gear box a bit challenging despite being brought up with manuals, but Patricia appeared to have no difficulty at all. Perhaps we didn't hold our mouths right.
Altogether a great experience. Many thanks Patricia.

We had been looking for a nice motorhome to experience this type of travel. Many websites were not that friendly and then we came across Mighway. We were fortunate enough after applications were made, to be selected to hire a 6 berth motorhome owned by a Rotorua couple Mana and Katarina. This was in our mind ideal as we had room (with just the two of us) to have a bed made up all the time rather than unmaking the bed to access the table etc.
The motorhome we hired was named Te Arawa and delivered to our door by the owners. After about 15 minutes of general 'getting to know each other' chat that left us feeling like we had meet old friends. The hand over was very smooth and easy, we felt comfortable (as much as you can) and excited with the new adventure ahead. Mana and Katarina left us with "if you have any issues, questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact us."
We headed off and were on our way. Of course driving a motorhome is similar in some ways to driving a large SUV, 4X4 or a small truck. Once comfortable with that we were fine. Te Arawa is well fitted out and basically has everything you could need.
Te Arawa is a really well presented motorhome, has awesome internal heating for those chilly nights and everything is right there for you. It looks and feels like a new unit.
During the week, we had a couple of concerns to which we did not know the answers and reluctantly (one never wants to be a nuisance or look incompetent) contacted Mana and Kat. They were most obliging and all sorted quickly.
In the week that we had Te Arawa, we travelled 1500km and had an amazing time seeing parts of New Zealand totally unknown to us previously. On our return, our handover to Mana and Kat was once again simple, friendly and we were all happy at the end of the day. Truly a no hassle, no headache experience.
As to others wanting to experience motorhoming, Mighway and Te Arawa are a great combination and we would highly recommend both to anyone considering the opportunity.

We rented mr sunshine through mighway Christchurch. We had a great 2 weeks touring the south in comfort. Never were we cold. I found it a bit difficult to drive as I’m a bit short but my husband loved it. There was more than enough bedding , but little
Things like door mat, t towel, little bit dish liquid, basic essentials to get you started . Other than that all was great 👍

We were a family of 5 with three adult children. We had a fantastic time traveling through Arthur's pass and returning to Christchurch through Lewis pass. The camper was clean and and easy to drive. The pick up and handover was extremely detailed and friendly.

Great motorhome. What a great way to see New Zealand. Totally enjoyed this trip around the East Cape. This is the perfect way to take some time and enjoy what we have. Thanks Shirley and Glen for renting us your awesome new motor home. Highly recommended.

The campervan "Lost'" had all the comforts of home, a hot shower and toilet, fridge with freezer compartment and Trevor had included all the basic groceries, fly spray, insect repellent, laundry detergent, umbrella, extra duvets to ensure a comfortable stay.
"Lost" was easy to drive having an automatic gearbox and power steering. It included an awning for shade, a 3 burner gas cooker and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
I would like to hire "Lost" again next year.

Thanks to Jan and Bram for renting us their motor home, it was awesome. We were hoping to travel round the East Cape but in the end avoided a weather bomb and headed instead to Taranaki and got to explore the Forgotten Highway as well as getting lovely weather and awesome surf at Taranaki. The camper is a 4 berth but we loved having the space just for the two of us as we have a few hobbies and we’re able to take surfboards, photography gear etc. The bed is amazing and we both slept very well, yay for the bamboo topper pad :). Mighway facilitated the booking as well as an adjustment we had to make and I would highly recommend all three, Jan and Bram, the Sandhopper camper and Mighway.
