Very happy with my experience at Ezi Car Rental at Auckland Airport. Being my first time renting a car I was not sure what to expect. What I received was warm, friendly and professional service. When you arrive at the airport you need to call the Ezi Car rental team on the number provided in your confirmation email. One of the reasons that I chose Ezi Car Rental was due to their opening hours. Having a flight that arrived at 5pm, I noticed that many other rental companies close at 5.30, Ezi Rentals was open until 7.30pm on that day. When you call, they will send a shuttle to pick you up and take you to the Ezi Car rental depot. I called after being processed through airport security and it took about 15 for the shuttle to pick me up from the International terminal, which was pretty decent considering it was right on peak hour Auckland traffic. If you have an overseas mobile, you might want to make sure you have your roaming plan set up before arrival so that you can make a domestic call. I was fortunate enough to be the only one being picked up so we left straight away. Upon arrival to the depot, my rental car was waiting for me out front, so i loaded up my suitcase and then headed inside to confirm my details. The lady who helped me out was genuinely friendly I was really impressed with her service. Being relatively familiar with NZ roads, I chose the basic level insurance which had the highest premium, but all in line with other rental car companies. The lady at the counter confirmed that was my choice. I understand that you are able to upgrade your insurance cover at this time if you need to. The car I booked was a Toyota corolla hatch. It was the perfect size to fit my large suitcase in the boot. Travellers with more than one large suitcase might want to consider choosing a larger vehicle for a bigger boot space. The car was modern, had many safety features and was fuel efficient. The drop-off process was just as straightforward as the pickup. You park in the drop off parking area to the left of the main building, return your keys inside and confirm details and then shuttled back to the airport. Overall, I would have no hesitations recommending Ezi Car Rental. Their customer service is excellent, equipped with modern cars, good opening hours and offer a great shuttle service.

Got 2017 CorollaYaris! It's totally new! And I like it. Calling Ezi from airport public through free phone number. The driver picks me up from the airport is so quick with no more than 5 minutes. All rental process is fast and the staff are professional. Pay my car rent and insurance with a credit card. Sign papers. And ready to hit the road!

We think we got a great deal renting directly from Ezi. I kept checking the price and it kept going lower so I'd make another reservation and cancel the more expensive one. We picked up our car in Dunedin and were greeted by very friendly staff. I also appreciated the free 2degrees Travel SIM cards on their counter - came in handy! We were upgraded to an almost brand new Rav4. We dropped off our car almost 3 weeks later just outside of Auckland Airport and took their free shuttle to the airport. Had to wait 10 minutes for it but it left right away and it only took another 5 to get dropped off right in front of our terminal. Easy and trouble free rental!

Outstanding beyond all expectations. Again. If I could give ten stars I would. Since first trying Ezi eight years ago I've never used another rental company. The others are either overpriced or the cheap outfits' cars are wrecks. Why pay for expensive on-site rent as part of the daily rate when the depot is so close and just a really quick shuttle trip? On my last trip I rang the help desk to see if the depot could store some large cartons and spare bags during our stay. The agent was most helpful and rang the branch on another line. The answer was 'Yes, no problem at all' which I really didn't expect. Without us even asking, the staff in the branch had taped copies of our rental agreement to the items so they wouldn't get mixed up. These guys are a shining example of how other companies should operate, regardless what kind of business they are in.

On 17 Aug between 15h00 and 16h00 I was in your AKL airport office to pick up a car which I was due to drive to Tauranga. On arriving at your AKL airport office I was informed that government were going to make an announcement due to a COVID community case. Rather than drive to Tauranga and have to drive back the same night and return to Christchurch, I thought it best to wait to hear what the announcement was going to be. The 2 ladies who assisted me that afternoon in your airport office were phenomenal. They are an absolute asset to the company - going beyond what I would have expected. They were incredibly relational, and I left feeling as though I had met 2 beautiful people with extraordinary hearts. This is the heart of the business and because of them I will return. More businesses need to understand that! Maya Angelou once said "people will forget what you said. People will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel". I only hope that they are acknowledged by management and that they feel that acknowledgement.

The prices are great; however, the staff can be hit and miss. Generally speaking, the late night staff are more personable than the day time, which is a shame considering the lack of consistency. The cars are all in good condition. As you can imagine, they are all base model vehicles so the luxury might not be there. The pick up/drop off service is great. As such, would fully recommend this place in the event of needing to rent a car.

We were recommended a car rental with similar name that wouldn't let us book the day before .... we then found EZI Rentals and will certainly stick with them. Kiwi owned and operated, fast pick up. Great car and fast, friendly, easy processing. We will be back.

Had a great experience with this rental company, the actual process was very swift, simple and unproblematic, made for a comfortable drive and easy pick up and drop off. There was a $400 bond on top of the payment though but will get back once dropped off and checked for any damage etc. Staff were so kind :)

We’ve heard some pretty bad stories from multiple people about how renting a vehicle can go wrong. However, we were pleasantly surprised with our first experience with the team at Ezicarental! Website information is accurate, booking process was quick & easy. Upon both pick up & arrival we received awesome customer service from one of your team members who was also very informative. The simplicity of it all without any hidden costs of things etc was much appreciated by us. Vehicle inside was immaculate inside and considering Auckland is under a water restriction therefore unable to clean our cars, the outside was still very much clean. Second time I’ve used this company. Very good no fuss service. Fast and efficient. Nice modern cars. There was a slight scrap on the drivers rear of the vehicle that they had noted as a scrap on the rear of the vehicle so check out car before leaving.

Great car rental company is easy to deal. The shuttle is quick and the staff are friendly. They are open early and late, which means no after-hours fees. They also don’t gouge. My uninsured vehicle took a small stone chip to the windscreen, and the charge was $69. Super reasonable.

I rented out a 12-seater for the day. Ezi Car Rentals was the cheapest rental I came across. Great customer service. Staff were lovely and well informative. The van was in great condition, clean, comfortable and spacious. Not only were we able to fit everyone, there was heaps of room in the boot to fit our 4 trestle tables, 4 bench seats, a large chilli bin, 2 storage containers plus other bits and bobs. All went well. Car was close to new, in great condition, exactly as booked, well priced, pick up process fast, despite being at 1am. There were 3 staff on the counter, which was much appreciated and this made the process fast. Good insurance options - love the nil excess option. Little slower shuttle service than competitors at pick up, since only 1 van operating. At drop off time an extra shuttle was used on demand to get some customers, who were short of time to get their flight, to the airport quickly. Appreciate the good service from the staff member.

Ezi Car Rental are a great company to hire a vehicle from. I booked a Toyota Corolla from EziCar online through a 3rd party Rentalcar.com. I also took the insurance offered by Rentalcar.com which was a huge mistake as it is issued by a company in the UK and if you have an accident, first you have to pay the excess to the rental company and then try to get your costs back from the insurer. Do not do this. The woman at Ezi Car went out of her way to get my online insurance premium refunded so that I could pay for their own comprehensive insurance and drive away knowing I had no liabilities for any damage to the car whatsoever. Next time, I will book direct with EziCar. I had a 4 year old Toyota Corolla for 5 weeks at a good rate and thoroughly enjoyed driving it. At drop off they shuttled us to the airport terminal as well! Very impressed.

Absolutely wonderful car rental in Auckland airport. Ezi car rental has a brand new 2019 fleet, free shuttle bus to the airport terminals and professional and efficient staff to provide help whenever needed. I hired a Toyota Prado form Ezi for a 12 days road trip around north island with my family during the Christmas / New Year. From shuttle bus Novotel hotel pickup on the first day, to car return on the last day and shuttle bus back, I really felt like being looked after well by Ezi. The whole experience is smooth and efficient. And their rate is highly competitive in the market, too. Thanks again Ezi car rental. Please keep up the good work. Renting at this place was definitely Ezi! Booked an SUV (Rav4) on my trip to Auckland. The vehicle was clean and the staff were more than helpful. I had to extend my reservation by a couple more days and the customer support helped really well. The branch is off-site from the airport terminal however, they do shuttle pickup for your convenience.

We enjoyed renting with Ezi and will definitely rent again. They are beating the majors hands down on the value - the cars are new and the prices are lower than competitors. I have removed one star however as there is still room for improvement. Our flight was an hour late and we were getting dangerously close to being locked out of our hotel for the latest 9 pm check in. Getting to Ezi before 8 pm didn't seem like a disaster though. But, yes, it was! The staff behind the counters was so slow, taking literally 10-15 minutes per customer, happily chatting away and being friendly... to the person just in front of them, completely oblivious to the fact that other people in the queue might be in the hurry. I have made a corresponding comment to the lady when my turn eventually came. She's done me in 3 minutes. We made it to hotel 5 minutes to spare. All good. So still happy.

Very nice place to rent a car from. They were all very helpful from the shuttle driver all the way to the counter people. My car was waiting for me and after a few minutes and signatures at the counter, we were off. Unfortunately, the car itself was not so pleasant. While it was fairly new with just a small scratch on a fender, the car smelled awful. Just like really bad body odor. Maybe someone took a nap in the car under the sun and just sweated all over the seats. Other than that, no complaints. They took the time to reply. From what I see in other reviews, they write back to others too. This is a sign of a great company who actually cares about their customers. Thank you for attentiveness.

Fantastic service from start to finish! Easily one of my best car rental experiences. Pick up was easy and staff were friendly, professional and honest. Car was in perfect condition and super clean. As the name says very easy to book, car collection very straight forward after being collected from the terminal. Very clean car which served us well no issues. I booked a Toyota Yaris for six days from the Auckland city depot, to be returned to the airport facility. After I made the initial booking I requested to return the vehicle a day later, which was approved quickly and professionally. When I arrived to collect the vehicle the staff member was extremely friendly and very thorough - he went through the toll roads and options for avoiding them, showed me the closest petrol station to my drop off point, took me out to the car to do the inspection and showed me a few features of the vehicle. The car was new and very good to drive. I did 1221km over the six days and have no complaints about the vehicle. When I arrived at the airport depot, I simply dropped off the keys and hopped straight in to a waiting mini-van to be shuttled to the terminal. The service was at all times exceptional and I was amazed at how cheap it was. I have hired cars many, many times and this was by far the best experience I have ever had.

I had read a lot of negative reviews about this company online, but decided to take a chance because their price was great for a 1 year old car. My experience with Ezi could not have been any better. The shuttles to and from the airport were on time, fast and friendly. The staff at the office were efficient and friendly (they organised an International Drivers Permit in under 10 minutes!) and the car was practically brand new. I would definitely rent with them again.

Hire a car over Xmas and New Year for 5 weeks. Price is best when searching all along online. I have given a latest Toyota Corolla which is excellent. Customer service is great beside a bit of wait when we get there. I understand it's a peak season and people all turn up at 1 go as they all come from the shuttle and everyone wants to start their holiday asap. Return is also simple and I received the invoice via e-mail after the journey finish. Overall excellent Ezi car rental. Will come again soon.

5 stars. We booked at Auckland airport. We got picked up literally as we stepped out of airport. Friendly staff took our info and gave us the car keys(near new Rav4). Super simple process and car was in great condition. While dropping the car back Took them 2 minutes to inspect the car and without waiting we got dropped back to airport. Great price and they don't charge anything extra like cleaning etc. I would highly recommend them.

Very happy with the car and friendly service. We were picked up promptly from our flight and driven the short distance to the depot. Processed very quickly and without fuss and were in our car and away very quickly. The car was late model with low mileage. On return our luggage was put directly into the shuttle bus by their friendly driver and we were in and out in no time - Too Ezi!!

The desk service was excellent. The pickup service from and to the airport was quick. The car was quite new and clean. They also give me a free upgrade to a bigger car. I rented the car for 5 days and it was value for money. One advise is to make sure you detail on your copy and sign by them before you leave all marks on the car, big or small, even the wheel covers . When I returned the car they picked on a mark on the wheel cover and tried to charge me but fortunately it was marked on the paper. Otherwise I would recommend Ezi car rental from Auckland Airport and I will rent a car from Ezi car Rental on my next visit to Auckland.

Wonderful experience. I have always used the same rental company each time I came to New Zealand but was unable to book a car with them as the website would only take bookings 48 hours ahead. I found Ezi Car Rentals and don't regret it. The website was customer friendly and I was able to do a last minute booking. Booked 5pm and picked up vehicle 7:30am the next morning. Service was quick and efficient and all paperwork and vehicle were ready when I arrived. They say 15 minutes from arrival to process but I was in and out in just over 5minutes. The vehicle was exactly as stated on the website (2018 model) and perfect for me. On drop-off I was met by a staff member as soon as I parked the vehicle (before I was even out of the vehicle and after a quick check was given the okay to go. Affordable vehicles. Wonderful employees. Great service. They offer FULL insurance coverage which I highly recommend (that means $0 excess, or "deductible"). It takes the worry out of renting a car. Also, GPS was affordable (and needed, since my U.S. cell phone didn't work well). I won't hesitate to rent from them in the future. They are my NZ go-to rental car company.

The car we requested in our booking was exactly the car that we received when we picked up the vehicle. The staff who picked us up at the airport and the staff that went through the paperwork for our booking at the office were all very friendly and efficient. Likewise the staff who were at the depot when we dropped off the car were equally as efficient and helpful. After checking the car and confirming all was in order we were quickly assisted with our luggage to the small bus for our drop off at the airport. Definitely can recommend this car rental. Everything was quick, smooth, the provided car was exactly as promised during the booking and there were no unexpected charges. The pickup at the airport was so quick! Renting the car was easy and efficient. The car was clean and well-maintained--probably next to new. The price was fantastic, but the best experience of all was how understanding they were when we had to return the car early due to my father-in-law's passing. Bit dissapinted our Guaranteed vehicle was Up/downgraded to a Rav4 2wd. Sold as an upgrade but price was less/same as Camry hybrid which we got for fuel savings on long trip. Should have asked for downgrade to corolla as we didn't need large vehicle that drinks fuel

The pick up at airport was efficient and the driver was kind and friendly. The reception staff of this time is good. But I was kept waiting for an hour to rent a car because the car has not cleaned yet. You didn't prepare a car. I was in a hurry so I was disappointed. The driving seat was still a little dirty. My Toyota Corolla fuel efficient was very well.

We had a mixed experience with Ezi, although much of this was not necessarily within their control. We had to wait for quite some time for their shuttle (due to a crash) and then we had to wait for nearly an hour to pick up our rental because there were so many people picking up cars at the same time. Our car did not have a child's car seat installed despite the fact that we had booked this and we later discovered that although the car seat was installed correctly the fittings had not been adjusted for our young baby. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and genuinely helpful, and were trying to go as fast as possible given the circumstances. We were also given a free upgrade which we appreciated. For the future, I would suggest that Ezi consider training for their staff on how to adjust car seat settings for children to ensure these are correct.

We have just completed a 7 day rental with Ezi Car Rentals and have nothing but high praise and compliments for the experience we had with them. The customer service we received at pick up and drop off was excellent and the car itself (Rav 4) was beautifully presented and very safe to drive (so many features). Their offsite office is only a short distance from Auckland Airport and there was absolutely no hassle transferring between the terminal to the Ezi Car office via their complimentary shuttle service. Their rental rates were excellent and the no excess option we chose gave us peace of mind that there would be no surprises during or at the end of our rental period. If you're after a cheap rental - boom, you've found it. Great rates on slightly older cars. The car we got was a 2010 model (8 years old), with moderate kms - didn't feel too used and abused. The remote central locking wasn't working but could still lock with the key, and the carpet by the drivers pedals was a bit ripped up, but outside of that the car was perfect. The shuttle service was prompt and worked perfectly. We will definitely use these guys again.

I definitely had a five star experience with Ezi Car Rental in Auckland CBD. We called them to see if they had a seven seater vehicle available to pick up immediately and they had one ready for us straight away. The car was super clean and in perfect condition. The price for the day was literally half the price of all the other major vehicle rental places for the exact same thing. They were also the only company who were ok with an early drop off at the airport. The process was quick and easy. I parked the car, locked it and placed the keys in a drop box. Really simple.

The shuttle service to and from the airport to the Ezi Rent site was efficient and friendly. With the site for pick up and return of vehicles being away from the main airport access is very easy and avoids the congestion of some of the other car rental companies. We unfortunately experienced a broken window but this was handled very well by the staff with the best possible outcome.

Pricing is reasonable as compared to other car rental providers. However, the location to pick up the vehicle from Auckland was not as accessible. We had to make a call (toll free from a public phone) and arrange for a vehicle to pick us up to the Ezi office, which felt a little remote. Nonetheless, car was in a good driving condition, but the inside of the vehicle was a little dirty, especially the dashboard, cup holders and glove compartment, where we found stains and dirt. Otherwise we enjoyed the drive in NZ and SUV is definitely the way to go.

I had to extend my rental and they applied the 4 and 7 day discounts. The headquarters is in Auckland airport but easy to get a shuttle to pick you up. After being on a long haul flight I decided to walk which was not quite so straightforward and it took me and my bag about 25 minutes - I could have done with some instructions for walking because in some places there are no footpaths.

The difference this time was that the car had a number of very obvious (and one significant) damage but all that was marked on the check out form was a stone chip on the hood. The cars we chose to rent were slightly older but twice over the course of a month we had to return a vehicle as it was not roadworthy. This is extremely concerning. I appreciate newer models would most likely be more reliable but, as the entire length of Route 1 seems to be being re-sealed, we were concerned about paintwork chips etc so elected for already worn-in vehicles. Value is great but safety is essential.

We picked up our booked car on the evening of 19th May. The shuttle bus was at the airport to pick us up in no time.The returnal was as easy, dropping the car and hopping on the shuttle bus that dropped us back to the airport. We received a free upgrade, so our car had a built in GPS. The prepaid fuel option was very good as it was about 30-40 cent cheaper per litre than at the petrol stations throughout New Zealand. And to return it empty was a time saving fact for us. The car was in a super condition, the full cover insurance made it very comfortable too. All in all nothing to complain, would recommend it any time.

Car was faultless, no issues. Pickup and drop off from nearby depot to Auckland International Airport created some unnecessary worry. On arrival, the Free phone at airport terminal I was advised to use was out of service so could not dial Ezi's freecall number as advertised to arrange bus transfer pickup. Called using my mobile roaming instead. Due to flight delays and late arrival very concerned that depot and transfers would close before we picked up car. We were advised to check car over before leaving and report any defect, but it was parked in dark car park so not able to verify condition on pickup. As mentioned already, car was perfect so no issue. Return car to airport with full tank requires planning ahead to avoid the 10-20% higher petrol prices in the area of the airport. They run 2 transfer buses, but stopped running 1 of the buses when i arrived, so had to wait an extra 15mins. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Best advice was to watch out for windscreen damage caused by stone. I took extended insurance as part of my travel so did not use the extra insurance offered. Made full use of car cruise control with radar and lane departure warning. Made for very easy driving.

It is really easy to rent a car from Ezi Car Rental in New Zealand. You only pay when you pick up your car and without any hidden fees (what you see on their Website is what you pay, unless you do any upgrades). The staff are friendly. When we returned our car at the Auckland Airport (7 Percivall Gull Place to be exact), we handed over the key to the counter and they took it with a smile on their face. Was wary that I would be hit with hidden charges etc. that you read that unscrupulous companies add however I found EZI CAR RENTAL very transparent, no hard sell and really easy to use. I changed my drop off point and date whilst in the middle of my trip as my plans changed slightly and this was easily changed by the call centre with extra day charged at same rate and no admin charge. I did go for NO insurance and took out a separate policy with my insurance company to cover the excess costs if needed and this made the hire a very economical way to tour NZ. Would recommend wholeheartedly and certainly will be using again

Hi, Ezi Car Rental is just as the name says, our pick up was quick and easy, we did not get the pay for fuel upfront, but we got the full comprehensive insurance, zero worry. We had a puncture on Saturday afternoon, called Exi Rentals and told us where to go. Called the Tyre Repair Company on a call out as it was after hours and the tyre was replaced not repaired, zero cost to us. 2nd time I have used Ezi, and they live up to their moniker. Picked us up from the airport, straight to the Ezi depot, and driving out the door 15 minutes later. The car was exactly as advertised. Make sure what your booking price was, is what you get charged. They tried to overcharge me almost $70 more until I showed them my confirmation email.price - check the fuel level. I didn't notice until 20 mins later when I was heading south on the motorway that my tank was only just above 3/4. When mentioned on return I was told that those models have a dicky fuel gauge and that it doesn't read full. Funny though when I filled it up the night before it showed full no problem. Apart from the above the car was great with very friendly service but I got the impression if they can squeeze a few dollars more out of you they will use these subtle things to do it.

Great place have used them many times and have always made 5 star reviews, however I was a little disappointed on this occasion as I got a tiny little stone chip and they wanted to charge me the $1500 excess! After I was really not impressed and spoke to the general manager I managed to get them to reduce this to the actual cost of the repair which was $69. I use them whenever I need a rental car however on this occasion whilst I’m aware there is a cost for repair of stone chips the $1500 excess is crazy!

The vehicle was in excellent condition and rented at a very fair price. The 2 carseats we hired were in worn / poor condition and were not installed for us - which meant we had to install seats we were unfamiliar with, into an unfamiliar vehicle, with no instruction manual. This presents a grave safety issue, in my opinion. I suggest that staff at Ezy should be trained in carseat installation and this should be a service included with the cost of the hire.

Me, my wife and two kids had flown in from Tokyo in the morning and were due to fly on to CHCH the next day. We were booked into a hotel downtown for the night, so we decided to rent a car for the day to transport all our luggage there and also take a look around the city. The rental process was fairly streamlined so we were on the road in no time. The next day we had to return the car at 10am, but that left us with 7 hours to kill before our flight and I didn't want to just spend that waiting at the airport. Upon arrival at airport, we called the office and was given instructions to go out of door 7 and cross the road and wait for the van to pick us up, we were told they will be there in 15 minutes. And that we had to cross to the far side of the road and wait there at the mini bus stop and they will be back over to pick us up in 5 minutes. They had all been waiting for the same pick up for the last 45 minutes, we were all across the 3 different waiting areas. Not one of us say the van come the first time around. We didn't believe that the van actually did come the first time around. Even if it did, and couldn't locate us, why just drive away back to the office, couldn't the driver have called the office to say that he couldn't find us, and asked the office to call us and tried to organise for us to come over. Lucky we didnt have to be somewhere at an earlier time. But it did take an extra hour of waiting before we could be off. Having said that, when we were picked up, the van was clean and the driver courteous. We had good friendly service upon arrival, and was processed promptly. The car was what we expected, clean and well maintained. Drop off was good and was a quick process. We may use again if we can somehow be guaranteed that the pick up processes would be improved. ie: if the driver cant find us, do not drive away, get the office to call and find where the customer is, after all they do have our phone numbers.

Returning the car was the easiest job in this world. But the pick up was a nightmare. Arriving at the domestic terminal in Auckland, the van picks up the passangers at a very bad located spot. No cover, exposed to rain. Your offices are too far away from the terminal, so the van has to pick the maximum number of persons, and the trip to the office takes too long with many stops. Van took too long to come. The process for contracting the rent also took very long, and there was a big queue with two people only to attend. The car itself was ok.

This firm is very easy to deal with. The car, a Rav4, was very good. Only problem was the wait at the pick-up at airport, then the delay in getting a car. They were very crowded. Then again, the drop-off was excellent. Will definitely use again.

I had intended to give a 5 stars rating to ezi. But upon returning the car, all changed because of one receptionist. I returned my car on the 10 April 2016 at about 1840 hrs. The receptionist is an indian lady, short and slightly plump. She is the ONLY rude person we have come across in my 12 days of NZ holiday. Her attitude is arrogant, and she always speaks with an impatient tone. When she returned to the office from parking the car, we still thanked her and she did not even look at us and reply. We were shocked at such aloof and unprofessional attitude. The rest of my experience with ezi have been wonderful. Their frequent shuttle services to and from the airport makes it a breeze. The receptionist we met during collection and the shuttle driver are such friendly people. The car I received, a Mitsubishi Outlander, is in great condition with only about 13000 km clocked. Everything went smooth and happy until I returned the car. I hope the management will look into this incident and take steps to prevent it from happening again. It is such a waste to allow one incompetent staff to ruin the whole customer experience.

The car was fantastic, so glad it was a diesel considering the price of petrol in NZ. The only hiccup was returning the car. We had an early flight so I called Ezi Car Rental to confirm someone would be there to take us to the airport in time for our check in, i.e. somewhere between 5am & 5:30am, my advice from the rep at Ezi was to grab a cab from the airport as they couldn't confirm the shuttle would be available this early. So we dropped off the family and one of us grabbed a cab while the other returned the car to Ezi Car Rental. The atrocious part was the taxi driver could see I was desperate he didn't want to lose his place in the taxi queue and charged us $40 to do an internal trip within the airport grounds. Given no other real choice, we had to comply. And when we arrived at the Ezi Car Rental depot there was the shuttle bus...

It was a fine (automatic) car and I enjoyed driving it but it had serious problems on two occasions - it overheated, slowed right down and the engine could find which gear it was happy in. I informed Ezi and they said they would record my comments and give it a good service on its return. However, when I handed in the keys, there was nothing on file about my problems!

The car was good but I wasn't happy that I had to pay extra money for fueling when I returned the car. I filled up the tank on my way back as it was filled when I took the car. As they handed me the car key at the reception by not showing me around the car, I noticed the tank wasn't full not long after I hit the road. It was too late to go back and had it checked. I just assumed they would already know it wasn't filled up before me but no. If they explained me better by showing the car, things would've been much eaeasier for me. This is why I give this company 3 stars. Besides I had a trouble to use GPS because I wasnt familiar with it 😓

This is the second time we have used Ezi Car from Queenstown. They are super easy to deal with and the big benefit for us was being able to take the car on the ferry over to North Island with a return to Auckland - don’t know of any other car hire companies that offer this facility. Rav4 was ideal as it swallowed all our luggage easily (3 large suitcases plus smaller bags) and was smooth and comfortable. The only frustration was an intermittent fault with the GPS where it lost the ability to enter a destination - this must be a common fault as we have experienced this on every RAV4 we have driven?

My car-rental experience with Ezi at Christchurch airport was almost faultless: pick-up (of a pre-booked car) was fast and uncomplicated; the vehicle provided was of the make and model as guaranteed at the time of booking. The vehicle was ready, clean and filled. Staff at Christchurch airport were friendly and efficient and provided with the rental agreement a printed outline of the vehicle which showed no pre-existing damage and advised me to check and confirm this or report any pre-existing damage. Return was equally fast and trouble- free. I returned the vehicle without damage and reported this to the desk at Christchurch airport, however as the only staff were inside the Terminal no staff member was available to verify the condition of the vehicle at that time. This procedural arrangement is the only criticism I have and I will wihout hesitation use Ezi again.

Used Holiday Autos for CDW but much better to use Ezi’s because if any problems you have to pay up first and claim later against Holiday Autos. About my 15th rental here, i should guess, absolutely like the staff and the cars and wouldn't use anyone else just now. one suggestion...modern cars are all different, I think a wee card on the seat spelling out the top five things (where the usb port is hidden, which side the petrol cap is on and where the trigger to open it is -i wasted fifteen minutes in an american car once, it was in the glovebox!)- how the auto park brake works and how to enable disable auto features like wipers and headlights might help. But Ezi car is a class act and this is a suggestion, not a criticism.
