The guy who works there is awesome would love to give him 5 stars. But upon returning it a unhappy sounding woman named Karen said the vehicle was supposed to return at 9am which was news to me as had previously picked the car up at 3pm & agreed with the guy will return same time 3pm on the date due, so anyway, rushed there after not much sleep & returning from a long road trip to hand it in because she said it'd be an extra days charge otherwise, not my fault but ok. She said it was booked for someone else next day or something which is all fine but I had a 3pm drop off time so I was definitely confused. Anyway, filled up the tank along the way, a little was missing I guess from the 20 minute or less drive there, so had to go back down the road just to put $15 in otherwise would have been charged $15 ontop for her to put $15 in around the corner. Fair enough I guess? But was a hassle in the stress of it. I turned up half asleep in bare feet as I'd rushed out the door in a panic & her tone made me feel like I was the one in the wrong.

Excellent friendly service from lady answering my call from booking to collecting and returning the car. Rental car was of such good quality I wanted to keep it. A used car business is on the same site so it made the transition from renting then buying a car really smooth. Very pleasing experience with RaD Car Hire New Lynn.

Excellent car hire company! Incredibly fast replies and very friendly staff. Much cheaper than alternative hire places I was looking at that had similar models. I hired two vehicles from the New Lynn branch: a Nissan Note, before the level 4 lockdown, and a 2015 Toyota Corolla when things started opening up again. Both cars were incredibly clean and drove perfectly with no issues. I used their site to prepay for the cars and, when picking the vehicles up, all I had to do was sign a form and present my driver's license. Easy as that! Highly recommend RaD and would use them again in the future!

September 2020: Much better experience with the vehicle than the last time, though an older model it was excellent apart from brakes being a little soft. Great price for the quality of the vehicle. Customer service from Rouella and the team was top class! Looking forward to the next time already. June 2020: My experience with RaD Car Hire has always been great. My only issue on this occasion was that the older vehicle did not feel very safe to drive over long distance and on higher speed roads, the handling was not great and it felt unsteady whenever the surface was a bit uneven or the wind was a bit strong. Suspension was poor enough and head-rests not up to modern standards, making any sort of long-distance driving uncomfortable and again feeling more unsafe. Also we experienced some smell of fumes at times and one of us developed headaches whenever the windows were closed which is necessary at higher speeds or in bad weather. The vehicle was also struggling somewhat for power/acceleration on any hills. And the radio reception was not very good, with also just one speaker working. I realise it was an older vehicle.

Brett has been so pleasant and easy to deal with. The paper work was all ready and all I had to do was sign and drive away. I rented a car for 2 weeks and he kindly upgraded me. I also wanted an extension for a week but later I was lucky enough to buy a car and cancelled the 1 week extension with no fuss either. I would recommend RaD Car New Lynn and will def use them again. :)

Totally recommend RAD. Drove the car from Whangaparoa to Hastings, all over, and back. Not one problem. Great gas mileage, awesome air conditioning. Friendly helpful staff. Even when arriving a little past the deadline, they were understanding.

It was very simple and easy to both collect and drop off the car. We had no issues at all. I would say that I was expecting a newer car when we arrived and were given an older and different model ( not as shown on the website) but then, at the price, what we got was fine.

We hired a car from Rad Car Hire to do a tour around the North Island and were incredibly impressed with the service we received. We had such a good time on the trip and the car drives were seamless and really enjoyable. The car was really comfortable and we really enjoyed exploring the North Island. We really happy with the customer service, price and quality of the car. I would definitely recommend anyone use RaD for short or long trips. We are planning another holiday at the end of this year to travel and explore more of New Zealand and RaD is the only place we will hire from.

Hiring a rental via RAD New Lynn was a smooth process. Booking on their website took less than 10 minutes. Getting to their location was easy as they are right next to the New Lynn bus and train hub. The day of pick up and drop off went seamless and I was in and out pretty quickly, all while following COVID protocols. The rental was not too expensive, was clean and came with usb, aux and unlimited kms. Post drop off, I had some pending commercials but after reaching out to them, Rouella was very diligent and helpful to get everything sorted quickly. Definitely recommend trying them out. Additionally, anyone wishing to return their rental on a Sunday can make use of their after hours key drop off.

Great experience staff were friendly and helpful, even offered to drive me to where I was staying (even though they were unable to) after dropping the car off. Quick communication via Email allowing me to book an extra day. Car wasn't so great, but then it was the cheapest option. Cars could have done with having the manual kept in the glove box though so that you know what the lights mean without having to google them.

Brilliant company for lower cost rental. I rented a van to travel around in and van drove really well and was great for what I needed. Couple of little nicks and clearly a used vehicle but inevitable for cheaper rates. Rowella was really helpful and couldn’t do enough to help - particularly when I rang from whangerei at a gas station when I wasn’t sure how to open the fuel cap. Would really recommend for low cost and you’re not bothered about brand new, perfect condition vehicle. Only improvement would be that vehicle could be a little cleaner - I found a a couple of items belonging to the previous renter in the back!

We hired a car from RAD car hire to travel to Lake Taupo and Napier. We received excellent service. The car was ready on time and all paper work was completed quickly and efficiently. Our family would simply like to say a big thanks to RaD car hire for the very professional service they provided to us during our stay in Rotorua/Auckland. On arriving at the airport to collect our car, we discovered that it was too small to take all our luggage. This was our fault in not choosing the right car. However, RaD were more than happy to upgrade us to a larger vehicle (a 10-seater van no less!) at no extra charge. While we waited for delivery of the van, Selena at the RaD airport office kindly bought us a coffee. Our stay finished with us driving up to Auckland - RaD were one of the few companies that would allow us to drive the one-way trip. After delivery of the van to RaD's office at New Lynn, without prompting Scott very kindly offered to drive us back to our hotel in the city. We were very impressed with the customer focus and service that RaD provided and they really helped to make our car hire experience all the more easier. We'd highly recommend RaD to anyone thinking about hiring a car, thanks again!
