Went there without a booking. Both Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Was able to rent a car for a couple of hours out of town for sightseeing. Terms & pricing were clearly explained. No hassle as well when returning the car. Highly recommended !

We were after a small car just for a day trip to Piha. Mani from Smart Car Rental was incredibly kind, helpful and supportive with that. Absolut hassle-free and quick pick-up in downtown Auckland and the same at the drop-off close to the airport. Mani even gave us a ride to the domestic terminal of the airport! Thanks so much for that! I highly recommend Smart Car Rentals and next time we hire one of their pretty Mustangs!

After days of enquiries I finally booked our convertible ride , a Mercedes slk 200 at smart car rentals. The person in charge , Mr. Mani became a good friend and helped me in all ways to get the booking done. The car was in perfect condition and the people are highly professional. I owe smart car rentals for making our honeymoon memorable and fulfill our dream of driving a convertible. They have the best reasonable rates for high end cars and I would highly recommend smart car rentals !!

I hired a Mustang for a week from Smart Car at Auckland Airport and did a driving tour of the North Island for my 50th. The car was a new model with 10K on the clock, immaculate, amazing, all that I could have hoped for. Mani and staff were sensational - they were there waiting for me at Aukland airport and took me back at the end of the trip. Everything went smooth as clockwork, security deposit was promptly returned. I will be a return customer for sure!

Awesome place to rent a vehicle in Auckland. I made the silly mistake of missing the free number of KMs per day, gave a call to Brendan and he gladly offered a change of vehicle even though I have already collected the limited KM vehicle. Brendan linked me up with Vinay and an almost brand new vehicle was provided to me. What they did help saved me around $600. The vehicle offered was in great condition and the handover takeover process was done professionally with proper identification of any existing damages. Once again thank you all so much.

We hired the mustang as a wedding car and found Smart Car Rental very easy to deal with. The car had a bit of wear and tear but nothing major and great for the price!

Rented a VW Golf from Smart Car Rental. A great car, almost brand new and for about what I would have paid elsewhere for a bog-standard Corolla. Car had smartphone integration, rain-sensing wipers, lane assist, cruise control etc. We were arriving at the ferry terminal and they happily picked us up from there for no extra charge which was very convenient. Furthermore, Brendan was very accommodating with my various requests and queries. I was not sure how long I needed the car for and Brendan said I could just book it for the longest time and if I needed to bring it back early I could get a refund. Note that this is different to their standard terms and conditions, so if you want to do something like this contact them via email and arrange it in advance. They are very helpful!

it is my first time to visit New Zealand and i rented a car from this shop to go travel around by weekend. i called to the shop and Ryan told me i could get a car immediately upon arrival. he also gave me a phone charger as we forgot to bring it. when i returned the car, i told the staff, Brendan, that i got a parking penalty from Wilson Parking and i asked him how to pay it. then Brendan was so nice to help me arrange the penalty. since i am leaving by next day, i really got no time to settle this payment, Brendan is very helpful. thanks again to Ryan and Brendan. i cordially recommend this shop to all visitors. they are so nice, helpful and considerate. if i come to Auckland again, i will definitely rent a car from them again!

Just a short walk from where our cruse liner came into Auckland Port, the customer service was excellent, our short 1/2 day hire was easily accommodated with a suitable hire price and we couldn't have hired from a better place. I can recommend Smart Car Rental. Gary

After reading some bad reviews, I was a bit scared renting the car here but since the price is so reasonable I thought I'll give it a go! The reservation went smoothly but the cancellation policy was very strict and that is when I got scared again. After readying the policy carefully, we're not allowed to cancelled at all, only 24hrs after the booking. I'd made a booking months earlier, just to secure the car but I was quite worried if anything would go wrong, and I might have to end up paying for the rent since I couldn't cancel, but I gave it a go anyway! (I was BRAVE!!) So we rent a mini convertible for 2 days. On the day (I'm always the lucky person), our flight from Queenstown was cancelled due to the snow storm! I immediately phone and emailed Brandon, to let him know that our flight was cancelled and we're flying to Auckland the day after. Thank god Brandon was KIND AND UNDERSTANDING! With this situation, I was pretty sure I will end up paying the rent for 2 days. So when we arrived Auckland, someone picked me up and brought me to their office. He told me I got upgraded to VW convertible, because there was something wrong with the mini. And there was no charge for this. Then at the payment, he mentioned the price, which was a bit different to the reservation form, at first he thought it was for one day, and then I asked why it was so expensive for one day, and he made a phone call and correct himself that it was actually for 2 days rent (as expected) I didn't wanna pay for the 2 days rent, since I only had one day left. So I asked him if I can cancel, and he made another phone calls, and said YES, I can cancel, without any charges !! I was like REALLY ?!?!? This is the greatest news ever and this people have some MERCY! (After all the cost we had when our flight was cancelled) So yea! I first thought renting the car here would be a nightmare but no, it actually went well and smooth! Thanks to Brandon and his team for their kind understanding and so helpful. I would recommend you guys to go for their service! They are easy to talk with and helpful! Thanks again, we will definitely use your service when we come back!

I must say many thanks to Vinay. I wanted book a cabriolet for Christmas but all cars were booked already so I got notice about that. Unfortunately I didn't read my email properly so I came to the office at my original booking day. Here I found out how silly am I. Lucky for me here was Vynai who helps me solve all situation. He was really nice, hepfull and even the whole fleet were booked he made few calls and in few minutes he found out for me other cabriolet cars. I can just fully recomended as the way how company treats customers is extremely high.

I found them helpful and cheap. We got a brand new Golf, (1000 km), and put best part of another thousand on for $133 per day. Heaps cheaper than Hertz or Avis.

I hired a Jaguar from Smart Cars for the anniversary with my wife - I absolutely loved the experience with Smart Cars; they were professional and they had ensured that the car looked as presentable as it possibly could for our special day! Highly recommend their services.

Excellent service from start to finish. Trustworthy, friendly and reliable. We dealt with Mani the whole way through and he was understanding and accommodating. Mani helped me to organise all the fine details like getting picked up and dropped off and was patient in explaining the insurance etc. We thought he owned the company he was so professional!
