Big ups to the team at USAVE car and truck rentals. I hired a moving truck for the weekend and the day before, USAVE were unable to make the truck available but recovered the situation magnificently, getting me a truck the following day and adding in some helpful extras like blankets etc for the move. Then when I left my airpods behind in the cab after a long day of moving apartments, they went the extra mile to get my pods back. Overall the process was smooth and the staff friendly and helpful. I booked a box body truck of 10-11m cubed and this was ideal for a small size move, and easy to drive and park even in Auckland traffic! thanks team

We hired a high top cargo van from USAVE last Sunday. The online booking process went smoothly. We were warmly greeted by Sharnie when we collected the vehicle. Her attention to COVID19 requirements was very good. We achieved the result we were hoping for. Upon returning the vehicle, Sharnie was once again very friendly and helpful. Easy to get too in the city, cheerful staff and very efficient. The customer service is great as the customer comes first. Clean, and a waiting area if you do have to wait. We didn't have to wait at all. Vehicles are no nonsense, and no frills. Perfect to do the job you are after it for. We chose a van for our needs. The vehicles are clean, any marks on the vehicles are checked and agreed first before you drive away. The agreement was explained to us before we left and in clear language. My partner and I were very happy with what we got, the service we recieved and we will be back for sure.

Great service from these guys, friendly and prompt. We hired trucks on a couple of days to move house - the trucks were clean, tidy and easy to maneuver. The taillifts and reversing cameras definitely make it easier.

Excellent service. Murray and his team on the Strand in Parnell are fast and efficient. We hired a car for 3 days at extremely short notice. It was ready to pick up within the hour, washed and fully fuelled. Quick, easy and no fuss. Couldn't have been better. Highly recommend for car and truck hire in Auckland.

I had a great experience with USAVE from start to finish. The booking process was easy and the price was great. The office was busy when I went to pick up the car on Saturday morning but I was met with a friendly greeting and a smile and was soon looked after. The contract was well explained including insurance and charges and the handover including check of the cars condition was straightforward and professional. The car was very clean and in good condition and exactly what I had ordered. Drop off was similarly straight forward and once again I was met with a smile. These days it's amazing how some of these basic things can be lacking in a customer service experience but USAVE get it right. I highly recommend USAVE for both service and value and will definitely use them again. Keep up the great work.

Excellent service and good value. We rented a 10 seats minivan and it was the perfect choice. They gives you the chance to pay the bond in cash which is really appreciate for travelers. Thanks to the man who attend us at the front desk he were great :)

5 Stars work from these folks. Me and my friends rented a van to go down to Ruapehu. Staff were super friendly from beginning to end, the van was great, clean and quite new. Also they facilitate the return of the vehicle after hours by letting you just park by the place and drop the keys off into a pipe that slides into their office. Best vehicle hiring service I've tried so far, good price and will definitely use them again. Thanks guys.

Usave are Awesome & really good value! We've used them several times now for small moving trucks - good prices, really efficient and really easy to deal with. A like that they are ok with after hours drop off... can be stressful meeting an end of day deadline in Auckland traffic!

Picked up the Hitch car at Auckland airport which was pretty easy. They were one of the last rental companies with cars left on a busy Sunday. Cheap and efficient. The return was a bit more complicated as the depot wasn't well indicated (search for Usave not Hitch) and we turned around for a while before finding it and almost missed out return time because of traffic. There is a bus going central not far from the depot but the staff was not really helpful in providing indications onwards after we dropped off the car which is a shame because so far the service was 5 stars. We had to find it ourselves after the receptionist told us there was no public transport option around, which wasn't true.

What an amazing professional, helpful and wonderful team at USAVE. So helpful, affordable, and the service was brilliant! The experience was made so much easier and helped things go so smoothly... The little truck got up a steep as driveway with ease! The truck was awesome and did the job perfectly! Highly recommend paying that little tiny bit extra for blankets, strops and trolley as it made moving so much easier and faster! Happy with the whole experience from start to finish! Great service from USave Parnell, Auckland. Have hired a high top van for a previous house shift about a year ago and a cargo van again yesterday. Both times the vehicles were reliable , well maintained & a pleasure to drive fully loaded. The office staff were very pleasant to deal with providing fast efficient processing of my hires. USAVE is not only conveniently located, the staff are friendly and helpful. They give directions with a smile, making it a pleasant experience to rent from them. The car i was assigned was an older model, and its windscreen-wiper squeaked a bit, true, BUT the condition of the car otherwise was wonderful. no worrying noise,quietly efficiently engine. Best part - the engine was capable of reaching high speeds efficiently, no shake, no rattle, no roll ... i did not even realise the speed i was at, so smooth and pleasant an experience it was. Thank you, USAVE for maintaining your cars well, thus allowing a visitor to have a safe, comfortable experience. Definitely will contact your company in future as the overall experience is Exceptional.

The staff was really nice and very helpful. I was about to rent a car for a single day for a trip to Hobbiton, but the staff member instead suggested that I rent the car for two days instead because the mileage deal is much better for two day rentals. I took her advice and it ended up saving me a TON of money. The car was in good shape and clean as well, but it would have been better if it had bluetooth or a headphone jack so we could have connected our phones to the car radio, but over all it was still a great deal and we were glad we rented from USave.

My wife and I hired a Subaru Outback from U-Save Car& Truck Rentals. what a great small SUV. The staff were really great and friendly nothing was to much trouble. I will be recommending U_Save to all our family and friends in Australia. Again thanks Murray and your friendly staff

I rent from the USAVE guys roughly three times a month. The cars are always clean and the booking process is simple and reliable. I have made a reservation as late as the morning I needed the car and they always have the vehicle I want. The level of customer service the team offers may be partially lost on those who only rent from them once, but to a frequent renter you can clearly see how much they appreciate return customers. If I could rate them more than 5 stars, I would! ****************

Booked a cargo van for the day. The 200 free km's that come with their cargo van rental was our main reason for going with USAVE and I would definitely recommend it! Totally worth it and would use them again without a doubt. Van was brand new and worked like a dream.

USAVE not only picked us up and dropped us off from our hotel at no charge, they suggested we rent a less expensive car than we had picked out for our intended use. USAVE helped to make our big moving-day a breeze. The truck we hired was awesome and held so much of our belongings. The equipment we hired; furniture blankets, hand truck an straps, were so useful for shifting our furniture. Picking-up and dropping-off the truck was super easy and convenient at USAVE’s location on The Strand. Murray and the team at USAVE were very friendly and helpful. There are some stellar reviews here and they're not at all off the mark. I've hired vehicles from USAVE on four occasions; it has been without exception a hassle-free experience. I generally dislike dealing with businesses - there always seems to be something that grinds my gears. Poor pricing, half-assed staff and generally unreliable service. None of that applies to USAVE. The counter staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly people who offer very competitive pricing on a range of vehicles that suited my needs perfectly. I have no trouble recommending the business and will return whenever I need to move goods, happy in the knowledge that I'll receive quality service every time. An unreserved 5/5. Thank you USAVE for ensuring that hiring a vehicle is the least bothersome experience I could hope for.

Booking, pick up, instructions all were smooth & quick however after returning the vehicle i was charged for about a hundred extra kilometres. Fortunately, i did happen to check the receipt the next day & inquired about it. They checked and confirmed their mistake & refunded back the amount but this shouldn't have happened in the first place. Hence the 4 stars otherwise everything was good.

This Company is NOT related to USave USA. USAVE Auckland is a well run business. I rented a Nissan car from them for 4 weeks of touring New Zealand. Murray listened to my needs and offered what turned out to be the perfect car for my needs. He actually dissuaded me from a higher priced car. I hate moving but it was made easier when it came with a reliable clean/tidy vehicle, professional and surprisingly good prompt confirmation with the online booking system. This guys aren’t out to take more than they need so fair and reasonable cost structure. I did have to spend a couple of minutes more at the pump to refuel to top it to their level because when these guys give you a full tank to begin on it’s full ;)

The single axle closed in trailer was perfect for moving furniture on a day when no rain could be guaranteed. It fit a queen size bed easily along with various other pieces of bedroom furniture. Special mention to Sharnie whose service was excellent throughout... really impressed with my first usave experience!

I highly recommend U-Save for any type of vehicle rental required to fulfill your needs. My partner and I managed to book a vehicle cheaper than any other rental company in Auckland, and this was for our two week tour of the north island over the Christmas holidays (peak time). The car we rented was so economical and tidy, that we only filled the fuel tank twice, saving us heaps over the holidays. We also got a free upgrade from a 2 door to a 4 door hatchback for free, giving us a bigger vehicle. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful; and we will definitely be using them again on our next trip. Thank you very much U-save for making our holiday easier.

Staff members are friendly, talkative, and helpful. Pick-up was hassle free and fast. Returning the truck was also the same. Their truck was very handy, easy to drive albeit it was one with a manual transition; and the truck can take so much of heavy stuff. Their rate is reasonable too.

Great communication, They replied super fast, and had the truck booked with details instructions before the other competitors had even got back to me. Everything explained really well. Once the truck was returned, receipt with all the info I needed was emailed straight away. Will be using these guys again without a doubt and will recommend whenever I can.

I hired a people mover from Auckland to Tauranga. The young lady at customer services was friendly and answered all my questions. The vehicle was clean, had no issues on my trip, and was surprisingly economical when it was time to fuel up. Hire rates were good, and I would definately use them again.

Rented a people mover for 5 days, it was a used Japanese import. I had no issues with the vehicle. It was reliable and drove well. The service was great and staff helpful. I was able to return it to another location for a $40 fee, which was convenient.

I have rented USAVE cars numerous times in the last year. The cars are mechanically sound and safe to drive. Staff have been helpful and always dropped me into town or picked me up from my hotel room when I needed a car. Commuication has always been prompt and professional. Rental car prices are very good value. Happy Customer!

Extremely helpful and friendly team of staff helped recommend a suitable van for us to hire for moving flats. Staff recommended we use a high-top cargo van for moving our queen-size beds which meant fewer trips moving furniture as mattresses could easily stand upright. Easy pickup and drop off of vehicle. I couldn't recommend this company more - courteous, genuinely responsive to my request for suggestions re the appropriate vehicle to hire; the vehicle was clean and tidy; they helped with (free) parking for my vehicle during the hire period - and most importantly they were the cheapest of the three quotes I obtained over the internet. An effortless and pain-free exercise from start to finish - thoroughly recommend them!

Moving from one location to another can be pretty stressful, add to the mix a single female trying to get everything sorted by herself and the anxiety can really start to rise...I needed a vehicle to take a load of furniture across town- the website is easy to use and the quotes and confirmations quick and efficient. Then I angst that the vehicle I had chosen was going to be too small.I rang and- "No worries.Just come in, and if you think you need a larger vehicle on the day,we will organize one for you". I hired a Toyota people mover for a holiday up North last week. The car was in excellent condition and quite luxurious inside. It was easy to drive and handled wet roads well. The only slightly unnerving feature was it's tendency to run backwards a little when doing a hill start. The Usave office in Parnell impressed with it's smartness. The man I dealt with was efficient and professional. He could have a been a bit friendlier though. The price I paid for the car was lower than other Auckland rental companies but the vehicle and service provided was better than my experience hiring from other more expensive companies. I highly recommend Usave rentals.

Absolutely Brilliant service from the team - They are always having things returned and taken out showing that they are a company that everyone loves. I had used the cargo van which was easy to drive, ran on diesel meaning the consumption wasnt much, got 200km free per day which was great! Definitely recommend!!

Fantastic service here. Needed a van for a day to move stuff in and out of storage. USave were reasonably priced and one of the few commercial hireage agencies that came with some free km. Easy booking online and the service was great when I picked up the car and dropped it off - fantastic staff at the city location.

Excellent service, the paper work was painless and a free pick up / drop off is offered. It was very flexible with a short notice booking / pick up all in the same day. The Parnell branch provides an excellent location for people in the city who don't have a car. Also the ability to return the vehicle after hours was invaluable.

Convenient Location and Great Service. Both interior and exterior of the car was amazingly clean. Not many rental companies have kept the condition of the car this clean. Plus point is definetly the friendly staffs, always cheerful and explained the details clearly to me before handing over the car. Will definetly rent a car from them again when I need to use a car. We are four Australians who hired a people mover from USave for our 15 day trip around the North Island of New Zealand. The online process couldn't have been more simple, the pick up at Auckland Airport was prompt, the return to the Auckland City depot was so convenient, and we were taken back to our hotel, which was greatly appreciated. The vehicle was so roomy for the travelling we did, with plenty of room for luggage, etc. It was smooth running for the entire trip, which made for a very pleasant and enjoyable visit to NZ. All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly.

If you're looking for a cheap, reliable and good deal on a car rental - look no further (seriously!...). Easy to locate, very close to the city of Auckland and fantastic, friendly service. The car was really economical and the price was the best I could find. Would highly recommend using USAVE and will use them when I return to Auckland.

Circumstances had cancelled a booking at another car rental company. Left with no transport, we decided to approach “U-Save Car & Truck Rentals”. Fortunately, a Subaru legacy has just returned earlier in the morning. The customer services responded adequately, and arranged a high priority to have the station wagon cleaned, and its roadworthiness checked. The vehicle was ready to be used within 15 minutes. Moreover, this vehicle is reliable on the road, has spacious interior. Provides adequate power when passing slow traffic and merging on the motorway, and good for long distance drive. Altogether we have had a perfect holiday.

First time hiring a vehicle, needed a box body truck to move some belongings from storage into a house. The vehicle was booked online in advance, then picked up from the rental location. Everything I needed to know was explained clearly, including where to fill up the fuel, how to unlock and open the rolling back door, etc. Return was just as easy: dropped off the vehicle; deposit was refunded minus the mileage charge; done. The only thing that was unexpected was the upfront deposit, which was not clearly stated on the website.

I rented a 12 seater Ford Transit for 3 days. The van was in top condition and the manual driving was just awesome. We were 10 people and 5 of us drove it and everyone liked it. The van was economical as it was diesel engine. I will definitely hire from them again.

Great experience, I had the vehicle for 26 days drove to the south island and back to Aukland. Due to my poor planning I needed a vehicle last minute (over a long weekend) and USAVE was the only company with a vehicle availible that suited my needs. it was realible and good on gas plus I couldnt find a company for a better price. My next trip to NZ I will rent from this company again if the situation arises.

I've used USAVE twice now for moving-truck rental. At two separate locations (central AKL and Airport). Both times I did relatively high KM with no issues. Staff were very helpful and prompt with everything inc. back-paying the bond. Also they're by far one of the cheapest which is why I tried them in the first place!!

Hired a cargo van this time (previously a box truck) and had no problems again. It was waiting for me ready to go. Only negative was that the brochure indicated the width was 1.5, but at the floor between the wheel arches it was only about 1m. I had wanted to put some wide objects on the floor but had to put them on top where it was wider.

The staff I dealt with were friendly and helpful. I hired the Economy Sedan to drive to Wellington and pickup some gear. It had plenty of room and was a comfortable ride. Would hire from them again.

I've rented from here several times now. The staff are always pleasant and efficient. No fuss or hassle. It's easy to park just outside, and out-of-hours returns are simple. Several petrol stations nearby too as well as public transport. Booking on line is easy and so is phoning.

Seldom do you have the pleasure of dealing with a company that ticks all the boxes - USAVE is one of those rarities. First, unlike many of their competitors, they are open seven days, including long-weekend holidays. Second, they have a great website, which is breeze to navigate; clearly states all rates, charges, & extras (so no nasty surprises - only specials & discounts! ), where you can easily make an advance booking. They have an excellent selection of vehicles in top-notch condition including cars, trucks, vans and 4WDs, plus handy locations at Auckland central & airport. OK, so that's all good, but then you have to factor in: great rates, great staff, plus they over-nighted our car (we hired a 15m² truck) at their lock-up free of charge. Thanks to Murray, Lance and Kim (at the AK central branch) who went out of their way to help. This review might read bogus but I assure you it's not; this is the kind of review I'd write for any 5 STAR operation, and USAVE, in my opinion, is such an operation. Murray—I think he was the boss—even suggested a way to save money on our next hire: we were opting for a car and covered trailer; he suggested a small van instead, (made perfect sense). Now that's service! Fantastic team, great experience; highly recommended!

Superb. I wanted a van for the weekend to move some furniture across town. Everything went perfectly well, they even threw in a hand truck which made moving a breeze. Excellent service I would definitely use them again anytime I need a large vehicle.

I have used these guys probably 7 or 8 times in the last 10 years or so - usually for a truck or a van. Sometimes the trucks can be a bit rattly and can be well used but the service is first class - nothing is ever a problem and there people are always very helpfull.

Nice and Easy! Seeing as we booked a 4x4 so last minuet as well as being on a labour weekend. Not a 5 star because we had to swap the first car because its air bag light was on, a little inconvenient but was easily replaced in no time with no questions.

I hired nissan tidda, it was nice experience dealing with usave car, specially insurance cost per day 20 is cheaper as compared to other rental car provider in auckland. But 200km per day limit should not be there, instead it should be 400km per day.

I found the service just OK. Since, this was my 1st hire I was expecting the customer service Rep. to give a bit more info. +ives: - 1) on time rental and return 2) Handy location 3) Friendly staff -ives: -- No major -ive points although I do have a few suggestions. Suggestions to USave: - Ask for some customer background info. in truck hiring for example: a) I wasn't told the truck was manual (fortunately, I knew how to drive a manual) b) Was not offered a dolly (even at extra charge) c) The truck did not have an incline roller at the back. At the hire time I asked for this however it was took late and none of the available trucks had an incline roller at the back. 1st hires: Do remember to ask for these extra features even if the customer reps. do not mention these. These do make a big difference.

Ok if you need a van or truck, but their insurance requirements are overly aggressive. They'll bill your credit card $2000 for any accident, regardless of cost or who was at fault.

I just hired a station wagon from USAVE for the second time. The first time was for a week and they were the cheapest, plus had a location I could get to by foot. The price offered by a Nissan Tiida was very tight and well below what was requested in other nearby businesses, located in the vicinity (350 dollars compared to more than 800 that were requested in other locations). The car was impeccable and did not give any problem in the 10 days of travel (and was used intensively). The staff was very friendly in the deal, and they recommended places to visit, as well as the best routes to get there. It was possible to rent the car on the same day (our previous reservation via Internet in another business was canceled due to delays with the flight), probably thanks to the larger size of the vehicle fleet, compared to the adjacent businesses. (Translated) We rented a car at USAVE in Auckland City for a couple of weeks and everything worked well in the car. We had chosen to return the car late which was after their closing time. We were told that the car should only be back before they opened the day after and it worked really well!
