G.Organised rental from home (Hawke's Bay) with all paperwork done remotely. On arrival in Christchurch phoned them and they duly turned up with our rental and took us back to their depot. Ran through the car's controls and we were on our way. No fuss and easy to get on with. Pleased we chose a people mover for four adults rather than an SUV as it had much more room. Same thing on return - all simple and easy (except we'd been picked up for speeding (6ks over limit downhill!) so had a small fine to pay later. All good - car was great, whole process was straightforward - cost less than others - so recommend
G.Really positive experience, rented for two weeks over Xmas 2020-21 period - cars went well. Initially there was an issue with my booking however Cade sorted it straight way on the day and it was hassle free. Pick-up and drop off was a breeze. Will use again when renting from Christchurch.

John and the team were a breeze to deal with, and doing all the paperwork via email before we arrived in NZ made it even easier. Our car was top notch and was dropped at our hotel before we arrived, and they also came and collected it from our hotel - this made for a brilliant stress free start and finish to our NZ visit. M.On a recent trip to New Zealand I rented a car from Affordable Car Rentals at very short notice, in a peak time. The team went out of their way to find me a suitable car which happily drove around the South Island, never missing a beat:) On returning the car, I missed finding some camera cards which they found and posted back to me in Australia.

W.We hired a Subaru Legacy wagon in August for a 12 day tour of the South Island, including the snowfields. The car was a few years old, and had a high mileage, but it was in incredibly good condition and never missed a beat. I had snow chains included, but never needed them, even though we were driving in snow at times. The price (including chains and insurance) was about 50% less than getting an AWD from any of the larger rental car groups. Communication with Affordable was by email and easy, and they were helpful with any queries.

M.Searched high and low for a 4x4 with a tow bar to tow our little boat that didn’t coat an arm and a leg and finally found one here. Vehicle was an older Prado and absolutely perfect for our trip. A.I have used these guys every time I return to NZ for a visit. Their cars are cheap but serviceable and as the name suggests - very affordable. Service has always been perfect. Affordable were even cheaper than using a pile of loyalty points with Hertz.....haha what a scam those loyalty programmes are with the big guys!!
P.I think it is most affordable place to get car compare than other companies. Its three times less than other, plus they give 200km per day which is again more than others. The conditions of car was good. Staffs are very good and friendly as well. We took blue colour 8 seater MPV. Totally recommended.
