We had an amazing experience with Campa South. Graham and Susan were really helpful, picking us up from the airport promptly so we were on the road in no time. We rented the standard van which was clean, well laid out with a super comfy bed, and fully equiped with everything you need for a road trip (No extra charges for camping chairs etc.) I like the fact the vans have no logos too. If you’re looking to rent a campervan for your NZ holiday, book with Campa South, highly recommended!

We had excellent service from Campa South Rentals. At our pick up Graham gave us all the information we needed and took the time to show us around the van explaining how it worked. He even gifted my little boy some lovely biscuits for the trip which went down very well! The van was perfect for us reliable, well maintained and the perfect size for 3 people. On return Graham kindly dropped us near the airport so that we could pick up our next car hire. All in all a great family business - highly recommend.

Renting from Graham and Susan at Campa South was easy. Graham picked us up from the airport and Susan dropped us off. In between they provided clear and invaluable information about the van and our trip. The van itself was well equipped and handled the “different roads” of New Zealand easily. We had a great two weeks (Camper Mate was an invaluable app also) and would highly recommend renting from Campa South and believe they gave us the service and attention we may not have received from a larger company.

Campa South is absolutely fantastic. Graham and Susan are genuinely friendly and helpful, they really go the extra mile to make your holiday perfect (in our case literally when they drove for hours in the late evening to bring us some stuff that we had forgotten ourselves). The campervan itself was very practical and perfectly suited to our needs. So, we were extremely happy that we chose Campa South and would definitely recommend them to everyone!

Renting a campervan with Campasouth was a great experience. The campervan was in perfect condition and very well equipped for two people : linnen, outdoor table, chairs, duvet and blanket... Graham picked up us near the airport, he took the time to show us the van and we were also very well advised on our itinerary. They were very responsive by message and telephone when we needed more informations. Susan and Graham are amazing and they were very helpfull during the pandemic. We recommend Campasouth to everyone.

My friend and I loved our holiday on the South Island of New Zealand, and a large part of our positive experience was thanks to Campa South. When people ask us what our favorite part of the trip was, we both honestly agree that the campervan was probably one of the top highlights. Our campervan (new Toyota HiAce) became our little home away from home as we wandered around the island. The van was incredibly clean, ran well, had great amenities (there was even a coffee press!), and was extremely functional (we really liked being self-contained and having a solar panel to charge the fridge and lights). Before our trip I spent a significant amount of time researching campervans and campervan rental options. I settled on Campa South in part because the company is family owned, locally based, and has a great reputation. Graham and Susan at Campa South were wonderful to rent from. My correspondence with them was seamless, friendly, and very quick. Graham spent over an hour with my friend and I walking us through all the in’s and out’s of the camper van to make sure we knew how to use the equipment, and ensure we had we good time while we were on the road. Susan sat down with my friend and I to go over the paperwork to make sure we understood the terms of the rental, answer questions we had about our itinerary, and provided great suggestions for where to visit on our road trip. After we returned the van, we discovered that we had left a pair of binoculars in the glove compartment. Graham was gracious enough to drive the binoculars to the airport to hand them off to us. We really appreciated Campa South, and thanks to their great customer service and quality campervans we had a fabulous time in New Zealand!

We loved our van rented through campa south rentals. It had absolutely no issues and took us around nz south with plenty of storage and comfort. Graham was amazing and saved our trip- telling us our planned route wasn't going to work due to expected flooding (we would have just driven out there and gotten stuck). They take the time to look after you and the van was much cheaper than comparable companies but fitted out just as well :)

Graham and Sue are really good people. They keep in contact with you and provide some great local tips on places to go. They even let us get our luggage dropped off at their place when the airline lost it, then had to deliver it. The vans we had was good, a bit older but very comfortable. We did have a bit of a power issue but they were very responsive and helpful. We have already recommended CampaSouth to others and would continue to do so.

We had a great time in a campervan from Susan and Graham. They were very nice and helpful at any time. The van was affordable and fitted perfectly to our trip around the south island. As a special service Graham came with us, when we had to change the campervan and the company, because there were no free campers left. As a bonus he inspected the new camper with us. That made us feel more save, because of the bad reputation of the new company. We would book with them every time again. We can definitely recommend them.

We hired a van with Campa South during the month of November 2018 and absolutely loved it. - Safety&Kindness : throughout the trip, we really had the feeling we were in good hands. I think when you rent a van you first want to feel safe, and that's how we felt thank's to Campa South owners (Graham&Susan) and Graham's brother Bevan. If we had a problem with the van, we knew that we could really rely on them and that's priceless. - Great van : outside the van, no tags or brand on the van (simple white van). Inside, the van had a lot of storing space and every thing you need to live (toaster, heater, kettle, gas cooker, cooking tools, cups&glasses, plates, forks/knives/spoons etc, cooking tools, camping table and camping chairs for when you want to eat outside, flashlights, cushions, duvets...). - No hidden cost : honest people. For all of these reasons, we would recommend to anyone to pick this company to hire a van. The vans they rent are great and well arranged and they are such kind and lovely people. Enjoy your trip!

We recommend Campa-South. They provided a good van, moverover, the cost and whole administrative process was as advertised. For example, they have a small deposit and don't charge until you take the van (others charge a big % before you get to the country). Pick-up and drop-off process was painless. It's not covered with huge ugly advertising. There are a lot of camper companies in NZ (and AU) and people that review seem to have a lot of bad experiences. We had ours for 5 weeks and couldn't be happier. PS- I wrote (under "Sean H.") a longer review on Rankers site with advice on using a camper but Google doesn't seem like the place for that kind of review.

Of all the campervan rentals we researched, we found Campa South Rentals the most responsive and friendliest to deal with. The Hiace Campervan we requested was undergoing a new interior and promised to be ready for our pick date - it was and without any delays. The handover was effortless and before we knew it we were on our way. The van ran well without any issues and no interruptions to our vacation. We would highly recommend Campa South Rentals where you will be looked after and get quality service.

Not knowing much about the various options and costs for a well outfitted van, we got lucky with Campa South, as their price was not only competitive, but was all inclusive. Over the course of our trip, we asked around about what some of the others were getting for how much, and we definately got great value. The service was fantastic, and the tidbits of local knowledge, particularly what to watch for weather wise, were invaluable. We were set up with a dependable, clean van that included all we needed. Two thumbs up!!!

Where do we start! From the airport pick-up, to the drop off, Graham, Susan & their friend Steve couldn't have more genuine and helpful in ensuring our van trip to NZ was one to remember. Coming from a small town ourselves, it was important for us to support this family owned business, rather than going with one of the "big guys". With family businesses, like Campa South, you can always expect a personalised service that goes above and beyond and this was no exception. Our comfy little van had everything we needed for our 2 weeks around the South Is. It's in the extra detail of things like extra blankets, towels, chairs and tables that Campa South really makes you feel like your in a little mobil home away from away. Thanks again guys! Our van was perfect, Toyota hiace is confortable !! The team is so friendly and turn a really bad experience in a good one. Indeed, we have been stuck 150km south of Christchurch because of flooding and Gram came with his personnel aircraft to pick us, so we didn’t miss our flight to Bangkok. Thank you so much again :)

Probably the best campervan rental company in NZ. Small family owned business. They don’t take big bond on credit card or rip customer off. Extremely satisfied with our rental. They have a bit older cars but well equipped and in super conditions! Owner is super friendly and even drive you to airport!

Great experience! Collected and dropped off at our accomodation before and afterwards. Graham was very friendly and informative. Good rundown of the van when picking it up. No issues with the camper. Was spacious, bed was more comfy than we expected. Plenty of room for two six footish people! All the needed equipment, foldable table and chairs, cutlery, pots and pans, gas, linen and bedding. Could not recommend more!

Our campervan was clean, had a sink and two-burner gas hob. Pots and dishes for two were included, as were bed linen, bath towels, tea towels, and mopping rags. The camper became our little home over the four weeks in which we felt very comfortable. It is very well thought out and allows you to stay in it and move around without having to get out. In addition, the windows were tinted at the back, so that you could not look outside, which we found very pleasant. Graham and Susan were very welcoming, incredibly nice and helpful. We were picked up from the airport and dropped off there. All of our questions were answered and we are sure that if we had any difficulties (which we did not have) we could have called them anytime. We were pleased that we did not join the long line of customers of the probably much more impersonal large rentals and that the camper did not have an advertising label (tourist stamp) either. Wir sind sehr froh, dass wir unseren Camper bei diesem kleinen Familienunternehmen gemietet haben. Unser Campervan war sauber, hatte eine Spüle und eine Gaskochstelle mit zwei Platten. Töpfe und Geschirr für zwei Personen waren inbegriffen, ebenso wie Bettwäsche, Badetücher, Geschirrtücher und Wischlappen. Der Camper wurde über die vier Wochen unser kleines Zuhause in dem wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt haben. Er ist sehr durchdacht und ermöglicht, sich darin aufzuhalten und zu bewegen, ohne aussteigen zu müssen. Zudem waren die Scheiben hinten getönt, sodass man raus aber nicht reinschauen konnte, was wir sehr angenehm fanden. Graham und Susan waren sehr herzlich, unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden vom Flughafen abgeholt und dort wieder abgesetzt. All unsere Fragen wurden beantwortet und wir sind sicher, dass wir sie bei Schwierigkeiten (die wir nicht hatten) jederzeit hätten anrufen können. Es hat uns gefreut, dass wir uns nicht in die lange Schlange der Kunden der vermutlich sehr viel unpersönlicheren großen Vermietungen eingereiht haben und dass auch der Camper kein Werbelabel (Touristenstempel) trug.
