Travelled around the South Island recently in a chubby camper from Travellers Autobarn and had the time of my life! It was my first time in a camper van and loved the convenience of having a home on wheels and being able to stay at the many campsites available. We travelled up and down the South Island, visiting some of the best locations in the country and having this camper van made travelling around so much easier! The van comes equipped with a very comfortable double bed, fridge, sink, table, gas cooker and so much more! We had no issues with the van, everything was working perfectly and it was easy to drive. The staff at Travellers Autobarn were also very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. I'd highly recommend travelling with Travellers Autobarn to anyone who wants to experience van life for themselves and I can't wait for my next roadie with them in the future!

Had the best experience with travellers autobarn! my friend and I travelled around in the chubby Campervan and it had everything we need! Great bed, tools for cooking, power for charging our laptops. We managed to travel all around the south island with ease and woke up in some amazing camp spots. Highly recommend.

Went to this branch over my South Island vocation. Renting a hi5 was the best choice for this. Christchurch staff members Luna and Joseph were friendly and welcome us from the start, the specs and insurance policies were clearly explained. They even have an own app to show you where the camp sites are! Very helpful. The van we got was powerful and clean. Nothing to complain. We had a great time and will be back again on our next South Island holiday.

It was a lifetime experience in campervan. We planned our trip in just a month and found them. This camper-van was so comfortable, and cute that we were so happy to book it. We will again book them and highly recommended!!

We had some issues with our reservation showing up in the system so we were kinda worried but looks like they had some sort of technical or clerical error. However, they made sure to let us know that they would take care and not to worry which was a big relief. They were super helpful throughout the whole process! Just wished they stayed open a little longer.

We hired a Kuga camper for 7 days off a Grab One deal. One of the best experiences ever! From the super efficient & friendly check in by Joseph at the Christchurch office to the 7 days on the road, we couldn't fault this holiday. The camper was extremely clean & tidy & had everything you needed for a road trip. Great to have the microwave in there too. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again & would highly recommend.

Not the newest camper vans, but everything worked perfectly fine. picking up with Mike and returning with Harry went really well, no problems at all, very easy and relaxed! We had the most amazing time in our Kuga. Joseph and Harry were waiting for our arrival and happily shared their inside knowledge about New Zealand's beautiful South Island. The van itself was spotless, the interior and all the equipment it came with was brand new. When we arrived at the office to drop off the van we were in such a rush to get to the airport so Harry gave us a free ride. Without his help we would have definitely missed our flight. Customer service couldn't get much better! We received 4 quotes from different companies in New Zealand. Travellers Autobarn was able to offer the best value for the money we wanted to spend and blew our mind with the well designed and equipped Kuga! Thanks again to team Christchurch. We will be back and hopefully won't have to be so rushed to say bye the next time.

I don't know about you guys, but I had a great experience with the Kuga and the Christchurch team, especially it was our first time renting a campervan. Van was very comfortable to sleep in, fully kitted out and easy to drive. The team was super helpful and friendly, thanks to Joseph and Craig!

My boyfriend and I rented a Kuga Campervan from TAB Christchurch for 2 weeks this Jan We had an amazing time exploring the south island, the van (automatic) was really easy to drive and had everything that we needed to freedom camp the majority of the way. We cooked every day using the gas stove and we didn't even use enough for the gas station to be able to refill it, which was great! The guys (Joseph & Harry) at the Christchurch office was super helpful and explained everything to us on pick up and drop off was easy too. I actually left my camera in the van and only realised on our flight back to Australia and they have been so helpful in posting it back to me - Thank you! We loved our portable home for 2 weeks and waking up to a different beautiful NZ view every morning :)

We had a 2 weeks roadtrip with Travellers Autobarn (we had a Kuga) and i have to say it was one of our best experiences ever. The check in went smooth and after 20 mins we were hitting the road towards the highlights of the beautiful NZ South Island. The campervan (for up to 3 people) is huge with everything u might need (gas stove, fridge, 12 volt power, solar panel, 230 w power if plugged in), really strong vehicle and easy to drive and park as well. We also called the customer service on a Saturday, and they were super kind and helpful . The bed is really easy to set up and really comfortable!! Sheets, sleeping bags and pillow are provided, clean and comfy. What can i say more, best way to hit the kiwi roads! Thanks for letting us experience the country on your way!! DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED!

We had high expectations for New Zealand, but I have to admit this country has surpassed them, and that’s highly thanks to our Van from Travellers-Autobarn, we drove for more than 7000 km, through the most remote and iconic locations, in great and not so great weather conditions, and our Kuga van never let us down. Although we didn’t use the outside chairs and table due to weather conditions, we did use the interior a lot, we had some heavy rain days and staying inside was always incredibly comfortable, and for us especially who need to some work while travel, the Kuga has proven to be a perfect companion. The internal storage is very spacious for all your luggage and bed is comfortable. Stove, fridge, and microwave are really helpful while on the road and we have used them almost every day. Although we didn’t have any breakdown we had a few talks with customer care, and the stuff at pick up and drop off, all of them incredibly kind and very helpful while explaining how the van worked and what to do in all those situations we don’t want to happen, but sometimes happen. Overall I totally recommend to choose Travellers-Autobarn for your road trip in Australia or New Zealand, we had an incredible time and would choose them again without a doubt.

We had a wonderful experience thanks to Joseph from Travellers Autobarn in Christchurch! He assisted us with the pick up and drop off of our van and helped us with questions that came up during our travels. He explained everything so well and could always reach him in case of questions/emergencies etc. He even took us to the airport at the end of our travels! :)) The van itself was just great, it was wonderfully equipped and we had the best time during our 3 weeks of travelling the South Island. We rented the campervans from Travellers Autobarn for a long weekend South Island road trip from Christchurch and they surpassed my expectations! The vans were reliable and the interior are so well designed. The bed was comfortable and having all the bedding and linen supplied. The service we received from the depot were excellent, the staff were very helpful and friendly (shut out to Luna and Joseph) Highly recommended hiring one of these for your next adventure!

Hired a campervan from this branch and the experience was great! Excellent service from branch team members, especially Harry. We had a great experience here. Clean campervan with stellar customer service. Really helpful service insuring that we had everything we wanted for our trip and the van worked great. Thanks for the Luna, who was super helpful making sure our van was available in time. Although we had a bit late to return our van, she still give us a good service and no charges for late returned. she was very friendly and helpful, we will definitely come back again!

While our pick-up experience could have been better (it just felt very rushed, with minimal information given, and a few problems/things missing in the van we needed to clear up before leaving). That said, the rest of our experience was a great one. While you could tell the van's age, it ran well for our entire 2 week trip in south NZ. The pricing was much better than competitors and when we did reach out to Travellers once they got right back to us after adding the information to the file we requested. When returning the van, we had a different person help us and he did a great job. Harry went over all the return details with us and all in all just made us feel appreciated. If you see this, thanks again Harry! P.S. just as a pro-tip for future renters, if you're driving a lot, make sure you check your tire pressures regularly! As a daily driver I bought my own tire pressure gauge and checked it every few days. It needed refilling a couple times in our 2 week trip with the constant driving and huge temperature swings the country is known for. So... bring a pressure gauge!

An amazing trip in this beautiful Campervan. We had a wonderful 14 day trip in Kuga Campervan in New Zealand's South Island. The best part of the trip was we parked and slept at many places including beach sides, forests and on lake shores, and woke to mind-blowing views of lakes covered in mist, sunrise over beaches. Kuga Campervan's are one the best maintained cars and had all essential things which we required for our trip. Driving it was very easy and interiors we very well laid out and easy going. The staff @ Christchurch was very hospitable and accommodating. Right from the beginning, pre-booking to drop off, everything went well and communication was on point always. I do like to mention about Harry Singh here who took great care of us while dropping the Vehicle and he even sent me my prescription sunglasses which I had forgotten in the car. Really appreciate his attentiveness. Would book this company and vehicle again.

Highly recommend Autobarn Travellers. Their vans are really comfy, good layout for cooking and great headspace for taller folk. Joseph out of the Christchurch office was awesome. Walked us through everything we'd need to know about the vehicle, was really funny and even drove me back to the airport!

We had a great experience with travellers! The van was nice and spacious. The only problems we had were the winter pack which contained very thin sleeping bags that didn’t really warm us up so tip: bring some extra blankets or buy some in an opshop like we did! Also the front lights of the van were really bad so we recommend checking those before driving off. Otherwise we had an amazing experience with our little van called Kevin. Great customer service, shoutout to Joseph and thanks again for driving us to the airport! :)

Have used them twice now, both in New Zealand and in Australia in different vans and have loved both experiences. Really helpful service insuring that we had everything we wanted for our trip and the van worked great. We had a slightly older model with a few bumps and dents on the body work, but the internal fit was still very good and we had no problems with the engine. Would highly reccommend and if we are ever back this way, we will book again with TA!!

Communications and customer service with these guys has been fantastic from beginning to end. It was our 1st trip to the South Island so glad we used them. We had a very food experience with this company. Even if we had problems with the car they were solved very quickly. The Customer Service was reachable 24/7 they were very kind, especially Fer and Harry. Thank you for making our trip that easy and enjoyable. Solid experience returning my camper van. They were a little busy so it took about 30 minutes but the serviceman was very friendly and got us through the process quickly. One price of advice DO NOT RENT THE GPS it is missing streets and also the touchscreen barely worked. It’s also quite pricey. Much better to get a sim card and just use google maps.

We couldnt have a better experience and couldnt be luckier cause we were helped by Harry - employee of the year and if that's not his official title, then it should be! :) He was very helpful, explained everything in detail and was there to answer any questions we got and also gave us some precious tips as to our travel. We rented a campervan for 5 weeks in May. Our campervan was in a very good condition, everything looked quite new. D. Furthermore it was well equipped. All in all it was comfortable to drive around and live in this car. Beyond that the staff at the pick up and drop off point were friendly and easygoing. As we already had an Apollo campervan in Australia I can easily say that I felt much more welcome at Travellers Autobarn in NZ. Good service, good car - can highly recommend it!

Had such an amazing time in our little van. Install the autobarn app and the Rankers app to find camp sites. Kiwi sites are by far the best!! And don’t forget to wave like a crazy person every time you see a fellow autobarn van! Service was great from autobarn and a special mention must go to Harry for his excellent customer service. Very reliable campervans. We rented our three person campervan for 2 weeks and were very happy with the standard to which it was cleaned upon collection. Comfortable and well designed interior. We would hire again. We had a couple of chilly nights where the sleeping bags provided were a bit too thin, but other than that all good.

My partner and myself hired the Kuga campervan from the friendliest staff at Christchurch. Everything was a breeze, they even took the time to give us pointers on things to see and do whilst on our two week trip. The van itself was amazing, it was SO easy to change the configuration from using the table at lunch to flatlaying and ready for bedtime, the fridge and gas stove were handy and got used every day - multiple times with nothing but smooth operation. Brilliantly designed 2018 Toyota HiAce in excellent shape. Perfect for 2 seniors who wish to sleep in separate beds and cook on board. Thanks to solar panels, we never needed a hookup. Fridge kept going for 48 hours without a recharge of the batteries. Vehicle sensitive to crosswinds. Front tires should have been replaced sooner. 24/7 power supply for our smartphones a real bonus.

Such a fantastic experience. Spent two weeks exploring in a camper and was an unforgettable experience. From start to finish it was compleatly perfect, we picked up the van and we were walked through everything we needed to know in detail and any questions we had were answered. The van itself ran like a dream the whole two weeks and was surprisingly efficient on the petrol. The bed was really nice and all the equipment like bedding, sleeping bags and pillows all seemed brand new. Couldn't recommend exploring like this more and choosing travellers autobarn is just a no brainer. A truly unforgettable experience.

Kuga is the best value camper on the market (2017) They threw in a portaloo to make it self contained for free, as well as winter pack, didn't mind about small nicks on the camper, and provide AA cover except for gravel roads. Well run, professional, trustworthy operation

I forgot to confirm my booking in advance but they managed to get me the same vehicle in under 3 hours. Luna also helped me when booking my ferry for the next day.

Make sure you pay and get the new set of equipment if you dont want to sleep in a smelly sleeping bag.

Hired a camper van from Travellers Autobarn ChC for a south island runaway, and it was superb. The campervan was nicely maintained and all functional, the journey was very good as rain with the help from their own developed cellphone app. We had a great time travelling with this van, and we will return next time when we were out there.
