M.Got the truck from Orchard Road in Christchurch, near the Airport. Thank you very much !
Don't know how there can be so many bad reviews for Usave. Might be mainly Auckland branches with Auckland customers ;D
Anyway, I did book a truck online for 24 hours to move a household with 3 kids to a new home. All the costs were clearly stated on the website and the booking process. I estimated a total of around $ 180 (without Diesel) with hire cost, $20 insurance and roughly the kilometers I'll drive and expected $200, as there is always something.
The total costs were actually $ 183 after all and I filled up around $ 17 worth of Diesel. A very good price for a moving truck for 24 hours.
Could have had another hire company closer to me, which would have cost around $ 240 for only 5 hours !
Furthermore the pickup and return was easy and fast, the stuff as friendly and professional as it can be and the truck was in perfect working order.
Thank you and if I need a truck again I surely know I'll choose Usave again.

W.I had a great experience with the Christchurch office. I rented a mazda demio and GPS for about 3 weeks. The price was quite low considering the car was fairly new. I had to call once and also had a great experience with them over the phone. Returning the car was straight forward - had no problems. They even offered to drive me home because it was raining outside.

R.We booked a truck today and picked it up at the airport at around 3 o'clock 07/01/2021. After we had loaded the things onto the truck, we found out that one of the back left tires were flat. We then phoned USAVE and they told us to contact AA by ourselves. AA told us that because this was a heavy vehicle, they couldn't change the tire. Now we have to have our staff unload everything and it has already been around 3 hours and we still haven't finished. They have wasted our whole afternoon and all the staff. As a rental company, you should have checked everything before renting it out instead of renting out a useless truck with a flat tire. I'm very disappointed with the service.
Update: Changed to another truck this morning. The manager came out to apologise and offered a discount. I'm quite satisfied with the way the manager handled it.

Cheaper rates and while fleet are older, the cars received have so far been reliable.
Reasonable price for zero excess insurance cover.

H.Recommend this place as the easiest and cheapest way to move house in Christchurch. We don't have a truck license but can hire the smallest truck. Overnight Friday- Saturday $90. Plus petrol for us it was just $10 diesel and kms again for us It was $18. We traveled all around the west of town, halswell, yaldhurst, wigram sockburn two long trips.

A.I've used USAVE car rentals maybe half a dozen times over the years for NZ road trip holidays and they've always been fantastic. To be blunt - the cars themselves are a little on the old side and have the odd ding, but the prices are much less than the premium competitors. The cars themselves have always been in completely fine working order and I've covered thousands of kilometers without a problem. The staff have also always been extremely helpful, and the airport pickup/dropoff has always been easy. Definitely recommend.
B.We hired a large 4WD at short notice at a very competitive price. Pick up was excellent. The person at U Save came out and did the vehicle check with me (which is a change from normal hire car practise) and gave me a thorough demonstration of how to fit the snow chains (in case I needed them) (I didn't ... whew!) and other good advice. Good vehicle and no problems for the 4 days we had it.
M.The team at USAVE are absolutely fantastic! They are friendly, helpful and the quality of service is definitely not reflected by the price. I looked all around for a good deal on a van to be able to relocate from Christchurch to Auckland and once i called USAVE i knew they would be the ones that could look after me.
All other rental places i looked at were priced well over $100 for the same vehicle for the trip i was undertaking.
I definitely recomend coming to the team at USAVE to sort out all of your rental vehicle needs.
a.fantastic customer service . prices are great! seriously will never move with a trailer again. we got the largest truck we could without an HT.... easiest move ever. truck was extremely tidy and easy to handle. definitely recommend... you will save at USAVE 😉
M.I have rented off USAVE for the last three years every July for the family ski trip south. Have never had a problem, they're always on time at the airport for pickup and drop off, the car is always clean and very well maintained.
I would highly recommend them to any friend. A great value rental car company.

D.As far as accommodations and rates go, we were very pleased with this rental car company. After checking a few companies, we decided to ask the info desk at Christchurch Airport who they recommended, and this was the company they suggested. They had the best rates we could find along with the lowest airport transfer fees (we were dropping the car in Auckland 3 weeks later). We rented a Nissan Tida, and the car ran great, and took us thousands of miles across New Zealand. No complaints!

T.I recently had to move house and needed a good size truck, so while I was at work (painter/decorator) I noticed this truck at a house that I just painted, with USAVE Car &Truck Rentals advertised on the side of the truck, so I wrote down the number and gave them a call to make a booking. when I went in to pick the truck up, it was very tidy in the cab, in fact it felt brand new,the staff were friendly and helpful, I will definitely use this company again.

B.I'm about to use a USAVE truck to move flats for the third time in as many years. The vehicles are perfect for the job and easier to use than a trailer or a removals company if you don't mind a bit of lifting yourself and/or have some mates to help. The rates are very reasonable and these guys are a breeze to deal with.
C.Truck rental very straightforward and efficient. Definitely above average for furniture rental trucks. Location close to Christchurch airport for those out of towners.
Friendly helpful staff and open Saturday and Sunday is very useful. They also have rentals cars. Try to get one of the trucks with a tail lift hoist at the back, they are very labour saving.

R.Great value for car hire. Sure they are older vehicles. But they run perfectly and zero excess if you pay for coverage. Shuttle to and from airport as well. What more do you want!?
P.I have used usave before and they were great in all aspects of their service. This time I rang around thinking I might find a cheaper option amongst the companies that didn't return my emails or answer their phone usave was the best price. Combining their price with service you cant go past usave for truck or car hire. Would recommend anyone to use usave. Great job guys and girls keep up the great service.

E.We are living in Christchurch for 6 months and have rented a car for our entire stay. The car is a late model and has been exceptionally hassle free. The staff has been very helpful and easy to work with. They even let us park our rental car at their lot when we make trips out of town via the airport. They drop us off and pick us up at the airport as well. We also rented a car from them in Auckland. Same great treatment by staff and again a reliable automobile.
