This was the first time that we hired through Omega and we were blown away with their service. We needed to change our length of hire and they assisted us promptly without hesitation - even though it was a reduction in the hire, refunded us accordingly. Would definitely use their service again. Norton in their bookings team was super patient and helpful. Well done on the customer service!

These guys were the go-to guys for me to get a rental out of Picton. I tried the big companies on-line and they had silly pricing. I then contacted Omega by phone, and the service was the best I have ever experienced from a rental company. From there, the car was waiting at Picton for me, after hours with a hidden key. A good late model car. (Not a rent a dent place). I will use them again as my first choice.

Really happy with the deal we got here which was over $400 less than the next lowest quote for the same car over 6 days, and had pick up and drop off option at Blenheim airport for only an additional $35. Great communication and friendly 'hands-off' service, no time wasted filling out paperwork just picked it up and away we went, same on return. Competitive insurance options too. I did not return a search result for this company by Googling however, I heard about them word of mouth.

Picked the car up in Picton, then to Golden Bay, then Wakefield, Hokitika, Okarito and across to Geraldine then dropped of at Ch2 airport. No problems apart from the extra cost of a stone chip picked up coming into Greymouth. Car was easy to drive and cheap to run. Will gladly hire again with Omega

Rented a car in Picton for two days. Car was clean, and ready to go, not to mention ALOT cheaper then the other major brands. Staff were awesome, friendly and helpful as was the lady at the call centre. Nothing was too much bother. Our return ferry was cancelled and it was no problem to change the cars return time to suit. We will use Omega next time for sure.

Fabulous company to deal with. Even when our ferry from Wellington to Picton was delayed by several hours, meaning we arrived after hours, they left the car out for us, so the rest of our trip was not delayed. Very good value for money compared to other rental car companies, and very friendly staff. We were able to drop the car at Christchurch, and they dropped us to the airport for our flight.

Great experience renting a car in Blenheim from the team at Omega Rental Cars in Picton. Great experience! Rented a small suv for 9 days. It was fairly new and in good shape. Rates were more competitive than the competition. I booked let minute when arriving to Picton via ferry. The whole rental process was quick and smooth. They also picked us up at ferry station right away after booking, but the rental office is also close enough to walk to.

Omega rental cars are awesome! Everything was very organised and simple, the contract was done online. The vehicle was great and left for us to pick up at Blenheim Airport. We dropped it back, left the keys in the drop box, and took off. Super easy, thanks Omega!

This is our fourth time renting with Omega in the last few years in each of Queenstown, Auckland, Blenheim and Picton. We've been 100% satisfied with the cars and service provided. We haven't had any mechanical issues and we havent had any accidents to deal with. From booking to pick-up to drop-off, the whole process has been streamlined and business-like yet friendly, and in spite of some competitors' claims, we found that Omega's prices were the lowest. Next time we need a car, it will be straight to the Omega website, like it was this time; a few clicks and it's all done. Simple, really.

Absolutely excellent service and value. The vehicle was ready for us to pick up at the Picton Ferry Terminal. The vehicle was roomy and very comfortable as well as economical. Awesome customer service, very friendly and honest to deal with. For the last two years I have only hired from this firm. When I rang to hire a vehicle for one day on the 28th April,2021 all vehicles were booked out. Kevin made a few changes and provided me with a Demo. Thank you so much Kevin. We rented a late model Toyota Corolla for 6 days for our South Island trip from late Jan to Feb 2021. The car was clean, low k's and also had a GPS although we had one of our own. Overall experience was positive and we were very happy. When we returned the car at the Nelson branch we gave the rental a clean and a wash and Sue the lady there was very pleased.

A fantastic experience from pick up to drop off. The car was clean and comfortable, perfect for taking our 80 year old Mum on a road trip. Highly recommend this firm.

The train was late arriving but they stayed and waited to pick me up. The car was very clean and easy to drive. They went through the Contract pointing out what I was responsible for and what the insurance didn't cover. They gave clear directions to my motel. We rented an Omega Toyota Corolla from Blenheim Airport. The car was quite old but tidy, it ran well and was economical to run. I was very happy with the trouble free pick up and drop off service at the airport and the rental prices were the most competitive. It met all of our needs and expectations for the price we paid.

Great services, great prices and nice friendly people. We had no problems with our rental car. I booked to return the car back to the after hours depot and when I picked up the car they were suggesting to me to drop the car off a little earlier to a different depot and take a free shuttle from there to the airport. I ended up paying less this way which I thought was very nice. Will be considering their services for next time for sure.

Booking process was easy, pickup was also easy (office was unattended after-hours but access to the key and the car was simple and quick. Car was 3 year old Subaru Forester, which was perfect for our needs (2 couples). Drop-off was also simple and quick.

Pick up and drop off was quick and efficient. Staff very friendly. Price was good. Car worked well. Actually the above was a comment from a previous rental experience. Things have not changed. We were met off the Wellington to Picton ferry and taken to the Omega office where a welcoming person sorted out the paper work. We were soon on our way. The AWD vehicle did us proud for our trip up the Awatere and over to Hanmer Springs - an amazing journey. So, friendly people, no problems, I will definitely use Omega again

Omega Car rentals was such a good experience with its many options of cars to rent. I hired a car one way from Auckland with a drop off in Wellington. Vehicle was better than expected and service was excellent. I hired a second vehicle from Picton to Christchurch and again the process was simple. I paid for this rental while in the USA and picked up both vehicles outside of office hours. The instructions for pick up were thorough and the drop offs were pleasant and quick with free shuttles to Ferry and Airport. I would highly recommend this car rental company for anyone travelling in New Zealand.

We have just returned to Australia, after a wonderful 2 weeks in NZ. Our hire car, Toyota Corolla hatch, was picked up in Picton and returned to Christchurch Airport depot. We were met at the Interislander Ferry. Staff were so pleasant, and helpful. Staff member in Christchurch also excellent. Our car drove beautifully, no problems, very clean, was only about 2 years old. We would rent Omega again if in NZ and would highly recommend to others. Pat & Tricia Australia

We hired a car through Omega on both the north and south islands on our recent trip to New Zealand. As well as offering the best price on the size car we wanted, their level of service was above and beyond what we expected. Picking up and returning the cars was so easy, with polite and friendly staff at each location. The lady in Wellington recognised immediately we were heading for the ferry, so bundled us straight in to the car to drop us at the ferry terminal. When the ferry arrived (late) in Picton, another wonderful staff member was waiting to shuttle us to the depot. TL;DR - Cars were great, service was great, would highly recommend using Omega New Zealand!

We hired a car for 13 days and were pleased in all aspect of the hiring process and the car. The price was reasonable and the car was only two years but looked like near new. The two blokes in Picton were really helpful and funny. We were couple of hours earlier and were able to pick up the car without any fuss. We will definitely use them again.

I picked up my car in Picton after the office had closed and had no issue at all finding it. The drop off in Queenstown was just as smooth and easy with a convenient shuttle to the airport as well. My emails were replied to promptly and the car I hired was well looked after and perfectly clean. This was by far the cheapest rental company I could find, but also had many pick up and drop off points (with no one way fee!) which was my initial reason for choosing them. I would 100% hire with Omega again and have already recommended them to others.

I rented 3, eight passenger vans and one sedan during my 3 week family holiday in New Zealand. I was very pleased with the quality of service and vehicles. The shuttle service from the Airports to the Omega facilities were prompt and I appreciated the ability to drop off vehicles at their city center locations. Both the pick-up and drop-off process was quick and efficient.

Great service, reliable vehicle and very reasonably priced. Better than the bigger rental firms I would say. The two minute drive (they do pick-up and drop-off from the Picton ferry wharf) to the car yard is worth it compared to the long wait many had to endure for a ferry terminal pick-up at Avis etc. Highly recommended.

We now always book through Omega in New Zealand. We always have a very good experience and little fuss. We love the easy booking and payment system, the employees are courteous and the return system is terrific as long as you treat the car right, there is no nit picking which is a huge advantage over the other companies that make life difficult, not to mention the inflated prices the international companies charge. 5 stars for Omega

Really happy with our experience with Omega, communication was excellent from start to finish & no question went unanswered. As was the information provided by them to me, to ensure I knew local road rules etc. Everything was as they said it was. Was also cheaper to deal directly with them in NZ, than going through those online booking services here in Australia, that ‘add on’ when you buy airfares etc. The Camry we had was very well maintained mechanically, it drove like a dream. Took all those bends and mountains flawlessly even with 4 adults and a boot full of suitcases, even better it got really good mileage, and considering price of fuel in NZ, this was an important factor for me in choosing a rental car type. I will definitely be renting through Omega again next time we are in NZ. Thanks for helping make our holiday amazing and worry free.

Our experience of Omega cars at Picton was very good, with helpful staff. Although the car was quite old and had a lot of dents in it, we had no problems with it so were were satisfied. On returning the car to Christchurch, we had a different experience with a woman who was not just unhelpful when we were unable to find where Omega cars was but she was snappy as it was getting nearer to closing time. A stressful situation, was made worse by her poor attitude. Despite this, I would use Omega cars again and recommend it to others.

Outstanding service. Online completion of agreement ahead of pick-up was a breeze, with lovely clear maps and directions to uplift car. The car was excellent. I had a slight concern over the placement of the key but it was in place when I got there. The $35 pickup and $35 drop-off fee for Blenheim Airport fee should be included in the initial fee quoted and not added later. It nearly changed my decision to hire from Omega

We came in after-hours on our day to pick up car. The company left the keys and necessary information for the car, and we were up and running within 5 minutes. Very seamless, good vehicle for 6 of us, and no car problems. Would definitely book with Omega again!

Omega Rentals at Picton are amazing, I have had amazing service from the staff, during the last 5 months traveling between the 2 Islands. Whether I am on the Interislander, or the Bluebridge, the cars are always waiting,with easy access and great instruction, I often arrive after the office has closed. I totally recommend Omega Rental Cars. My last trip down south I left some items in the car and they got them to me on board the Bluebridge before we left Picton. GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PEOPLE GREAT CARS.

Omega were excellent. I was concerned that it would be a problem being picked up from the ferry terminal at Picton because I had a lot of luggage but they were excellent. I was driving away within 40 minutes of docking! Drop off in Christchurch was equally hassle free! Highly rated and would use again,

Omega has a somewhat bare-bones facility just a few steps away from the ferry terminal, where their van came and picked us up. The staff was very friendly and attentive and our vehicle (Toyota RAV4) was gassed up, clean as a whistle and ready to go as soon as we arrived. Renting a car from Omega was a very pleasant and stress-free experience from beginning to end. Highly recommended.

Staff member at Nelson airport equally great. She hopped into the vehicle to drive us to the terminal so we didn't have to transfer our bags to the shuttle. Absolutely brilliant. When all the other rental car companies thought it was too difficult Omega Picton said "no worries". They supported us for a project that resulted in 2-month of rentals with flexibility for different drivers to come and go. Great little car perfect for 2 (or even 4), Demio. Fuel economy was excellent. Travelled almost 600kms using around 3/4 of a tank of gas. Nice and zippy vehicle. Customer service excellent. I booked online with confirmation immediate. Emailed booking and information correspondence perfect for me. Highly recommend Omega rental cars Picton. And to top it off, VALUE FOR MONEY.

We used Omega Rental Cars for our road trip in New-Zealand. The car was good and the pick-ups and drop-offs went smooth. We also liked the drop-off and pick-up option in Wellington and Picton so we did not have to pay for a car on the ferry. I recommend Omega Rental Cars.

The vehicles we were given were great - they suited our needs well, were clean and worked well. Pick-up and drop-off were easy on the North Island, less easy to drop off in Queenstown as the agency is 4 kms ($28 NZD) cab away from the airport if your flight departs before 0900hrs. Customer service was great - we contacted Omega twice in our three week trip and received prompt replies and support. I would recommend Omega as good agency to rent with.

Omega Car Rental was an excellent company to rent a car from during our recent trip to New Zealand. Check out and return were quick and easy and the locations on both the north and south island well located. The drop off service was a nice and helpful touch.

Very helpful. Picked us up at the Interislander Ferry terminal. Also dropped us off after returning the car. Car was clean & tidy. Didn't like the high beam headlights on the Corolla hatch, though. Very dim & I would try to avoid hiring a similar Corolla. Happy to rent a car from Omega.

Easy pick and drop off . Car very clean and perfect size for us. We travelled all around the South Island and had a great time. Loved Nelson and the market. Franz Josef and the glaciers Unfortunately Milford Sounds was closed to private cars because of floods but this meant we were able to spend more time in Queenstown and Christchurch.

chose Omega for the first time as they offered a pickup in Blenheim and dropoff at Nelson. And their price was good. pickup at the airport was fine: car where they said it was. and dropoff went well at Nelson: they drove us the short trip to the airport, which I had planned to walk the car (RAV4) was pretty new, worked totally fine And I had a couple of conversations on choice of car, and would it be suitable for the Molesworth Rd, and they were prompt to respond. All good.

Was concerned about the pick up in Blenheim but once was there, it all unfolded just like they said it would. Was very pleased with the car itself, the fact that I got the car I ordered was great. To many times with other company's I have had a completely different vehicle to the one ordered. So we'll done. If I have any suggestions, maybe you could have a drop box at the Picton ferry terminal. But other than that, you guys were great. Thanks.

This was an unexpected surprise for me. This is a budget car rental company but the service we received was premium. Kelvin from the Picton office was waiting for me at the station on arrival to shuttle us to their depot. The car was already prepared and although not brand new, displayed a clean appearance inside and out. It performed faultlessly. On return, the drop off was smooth and trouble free. I would highly recommend Omega car hire from Picton.

Great service at both Picton and Nelson branches. Their shuttle was there when we came off the ferry and it didn't take long to get to the depot and into our car. I rented a car from Omega Rental Cars in Picton. I was taking the Interislander ferry from Wellington to Picton, and my arrival time in Picton was close to Omega's office closing time. So I arranged to sign my contract before picking up the car. Omega then left the car for me at the ferry station. It worked out very nicely. The car was there waiting for me. I dropped the car off in Queenstown which went very smoothly. When renting the car I had some questions about which insurance coverage I should get. Omega was very helpful in aiding me in making my decision. The entire rental process went very smoothly.

Omega car rentals were excellent, providing a comfortable car in top condition, with two child car seats included. The staff were very friendly at the pickup office in Picton and drop off office in Nelson, and quick to respond to our email questions during our trip. Shuttle bus service to/from Picton ferry terminal and Nelson airport also very handy. Recommended.

We recently rented a Toyota Highlander for a trip to Hanmer Springs. As we live nearby, we called in to discuss our requirements. The staff were brilliant - extremely helpful and obliging. The price was far less than we'd been quoted for the same period by the bigger rental car companies, and we were assured we'd get the car we'd requested. It was ready for us exactly on time, and the paperwork completed very promptly. The car ran really well and was beautifully presented. An excellent experience - we will definitely use Omega again!

My Omega Car Rental experience was 5 stars. Service overall at Auckland, Wellington, Picton and Christchurch was amazing, easy and clear. The staff were always very courteous and nice. I rate my experience 5 stars because they did beyond what I expect from a rental car. I had to split my rental in two different periods, for my own private insurance purposes, which meant return and picking up a new car to follow formalities. These remained only in paper and they let me proceed with the car until my final destination. As I was driving in the North and South Island they also allowed me to leave the car either at Wellington or Picton so you avoid the ferry cost. :D Tooooots recommend it and the price was great as well=)

Haven't had a bad experience with Omega yet, I am a happy repeat customer. Good communication, easy after-hours pickup from the Interislander ferry terminal in Picton, our Mazda Demio was a bit older as usual but performed perfectly. The only improvement would have been to have a working remote keyfob, we just got the valet key. All in all a good experience at a great price, I'll be back. Thanks!

Car was very clean inside. Signs of use outside, but not in any way off-putting. Staff were extremely helpful. I would have appreciated having pointed out the reversing screen as I'm not used to having that feature. I would come back to Omega in future - and recommend them.

Incredible service!! We were meant to pick our car up at Nelson airport, but our flight got cancelled and we ended up having to land in Blenheim. Called up omega to see if they could help us out at all and they were so kind and helpful. They arranged for our car to be driven over to Blenheim airport for us, with no added fee. Such incredible customer service. The man we dealt with was so kind and made our experience with omega, and our trip to Nelson in general, such a memorable one.

Booking process was simple and fast. We'd rented a Mazda Premacy for our South Island trip and it served us well despite the car didn't came in tip top condition, it had a few dents here and there but it was just aesthetic issues. Car worked fine for the long journey. Shuttle pick up and drop off was easy and convenient.

Can't rate Omega highly enough. Pick up and drop off was straight forward, no insurance hard sell, just friendly, helpful staff who shared a great sense of humour as well. A pleasure to deal with and its not often you can say that about a car hire firm! Thanks guys!

I chose Omega for our recent 3 week trip to New Zealand based on internet reviews and was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and helpful and the service was excellent at both the pickup (Picton dock) and drop-off (Christchurch airport). The shuttle service was prompt at both locations. The car was clean and of the year and model reserved, except it was a hatchback and not a sedan, but that really wasn't a problem. We drove around the complete perimeter of the South Island and had no issues with the vehicle. I would highly recommend Omega for your trip to New Zealand.

We rented a small car for a week from the Picton centre. We found that they were efficient, competent and very friendly. They even allowed us to store our bike at their place for the time we were gone.The car as well rented for a very reasonable rate. I would highly recommend them.

Omega was great from start to finish. I booked my car online and received prompt emails letting me know how to go about after hours pickup since we were coming in on the ferry. I called to get details of my car and where to find it. The rental car lot is at the end of following the blue line, simple, and they even emailed me a map of where to look for it in the lot. Rental cars are not cheap but the price was reasonable and the car was in good shape. I would definitely book with Omega again.

We rented a small vehicle to do some wine tasting and museum etc in Blenheim. Car was perfect. Easiest rental to arrange as well. Well done Omega. We will definitely use your services again.

I could not believe how sweet and flexible Omega Picton was. They were so helpful when I picked up the car, gave us a shuttle ride to Interislander after dropping the car off (a bit late because I forgot to top up the tank, but there's a gas station next door), and were nothing but fun, funny, and helpful to deal with. Highly recommended.

I had planned this trip at the very last moment and all the other famous car rental companies had increased their price a lot due to the demand. I found Omega rentals very honest and straight forward with their business. The car was really good and being a solo traveler it was very reliable. I am very happy with the rentals. Outstanding service and great rates! Our cruise ship was unexpectedly diverted to Picton and I rang Omega to book a car for the day for 5 people. We were picked up from the dock and taken to our rental car and later driven back to the dock when we returned the car. The gentleman who served us was extremely helpful with suggestions of what to do around the area in the time frame we had. I would highly recommend this company to any traveller.

We rented from Omega Picton for a four week trip round South Island. Office/depot easy to find near the town centre/ferry terminal. Our Toyota Corolla Sedan in Black looked well used but it ran faultlessly, comfortably and economically during our trip. The staff both at pickup and drop off were friendly and efficient. And of course their prices were far below what I was being quoted by other big name competitors. I would recommend Omega Picton absolutely.

Omega Rental Cars Picton was excellent. We were delayed due to a train detour and Alec stayed to enable us to pick up our car after hours. I know this cannot be expected at any other time. Fabulous and accommodating! True reflection of the Kiwis hospitality. I had need for a minivan that could sit 7. Guy went out of his way to find me an SUV that fits my need even though he could have just easily tells me no. Highly recommend this place, and here's a tip: make sure you have an online reservation or otherwise you'll be at the mercy of whatever they have left for that day.

Everything was perfect! We rented a Mazda Demian for four weeks on the Northern Island, dropped it of at Wellington, got a ride to the ferry an picked another Mazda Demian in Picton for four more weeks. Both vehicles were very reliable and well maintained. Thanks for the great service including the dead easy paper work! We totally recommend Omega :-)

Ruby, you are awesome. Thank the team so much. We were late to our rental car reservation with Europcar which apparently meams that means you wont ever get your car. I called Omega and they were friendly and ready to help immediately. After a 10 min walk from the ferry...we had our excellent omega rental. The cars are a little older, but very well maintained. The car was even cheaper than our original booking. The team was happy to help and willing to go above and beyond. Can't recommend them highly enough. Also, apparently if you call ahead they will leave it at the ferry for you. Omega, when do you start operating in the States so I can become a permanent- long time-customer?

It was really good experience with Omega Rental Cars in New Zealand. Staff was kind and nice. A car we rented was great as well. I was able to rent the car with relatively low price, compared to other rental car companies. I would rent a car with Omega Rental Cars in the future if I travel New Zealand with a car.

The car was pretty good, only minor problems. One of the electric windows didn't work and the battery was pretty old and used, which led to a flat battery within one or two minutes, when the lights were not turned off immediately. Unfortunately there were no jumper cables in the car, so we had to find someone with cables, a car and time to help us out. The service is really good, I got a car in Blenheim for the next morning, although I only called in the late afternoon. The price was good as well!

I booked a car from home, and when I arrived in Picton, it was already after hours, (8pm) and the car was waiting for me, just like they told me. I had a beautiful trip in the south island, we made over than 300km and not a single problem. Before returning the car, we made a litte change in our trip route, and I asked them if I can leave the car in Nelson instead. Again, they where so kind and let me do it. Even when I called them after hours again. Great service! Friendly and cheap. Best option no doubt.

Fantastic company - so upfront & honest!! My rental was for 40 days + 40 nights (I know, no biblical quotes required, lol) which included, drop off at Wellington + pick up another vehicle on the South Island. All totally seamless!! Most efficient, another vehicle was waiting for me right at the ferry terminal!! In my haste, I left my glasses case in the first vehicle, a couple of polite emails to Marie (in Wellington). who arranged them to be forwarded to Christchurch, my final destination, low and behold, when I arrived, yep, they were there waiting for me!! Chose Omega based on price competitiveness but will reuse for the customer service which was 10/10. Very responsive with queries even on weekends and hand delivered sunglasses that were left in the vehicle after return.

A five star experience. Great service at both pick up and drop off. Asked to change the car to a more modern car and they willingly did at no extra cost. Fab!

There are things I really like about Omega mainly how easy the process is however I was very disappointed in the $70 extra charged for airport pick up/drop off. I’m sure a selling point of omega was no hidden costs yet although I initially put the airport as pick up/drop off the fee wasn’t included until the end (without me noticing) and I would have looked around if I had known especially considering my hirage was only for 2days so $70 was a big chunk of the total cost!

Very good arrangement with the paperwork completed prior to arrival. We just picked up the keys and drove off. The only think I dislike about all rental car companies is the additional insurance option as being rather expensive.

Omega provided a well-maintained and reliable older car (which I had signed up for!) and everything performed as expected. Their staff were easy to deal with and there were no hidden surprises. Our arrival flight was delayed by over 1 hour on a holiday weekend but the Omega staff stayed on late and we got our car (I was worried as we rushed through the airport). Great car hire experience. Very easy collection (from Christchurch), with car and paperwork all ready to go when we arrived. Similar good service on drop-off at Picton. Car had been well used, but was otherwise in fine fettle and was just the job at better price than the big name companies who use new cars.

We picked our Omega rental at Blenheim Airport. 4 days of carefree enjoyment. Kelvin was very helpful answering any questions we had. Would certainly use again.

We picked up our car at the Picton Ferry Terminal. I was a little concerned since it was offsite, but the shuttle picked us up right outside the ferry door and we received our car quickly. The Staff was great. In hind sight, I was very happy that we used Omega and it was offsite since the lines for the onsite car rentals were huge! I am sure we were driving away hours before the people with reservations with onsite car rentals. Based on our experience we used Omega again in Queenstown and again had great service.

Rented a car for 10 days to tour the South Island. Pick up in Picton after hours and dropping off at Christchurch. There was no drop off in different location charge and full insurance included. Staff were fantastic on both ends. Would well recommend Omega.

Picked the car up in Queenstown - wonderful customer service! The car (Subaru Forester) was a great price for our seven day rental, loads cheaper than the opposition, and in perfect condition. Easy drop off at Picton, we even got a complementary drop off at the ferry. Couldn't be happier, from beginning to end. Highly recommend Omega.

Omega staff was very kind and helpful. We were given local tips as well. We rented a small car for about 49$ per day and although not recent, it drove very well, was reliable and had enough power to go up the steep hills easily or overtake other cars.

Once we got to the car and checked it we were extremely happy. The car was perfect, big enough for 4 people plus luggage, economical and easy to drive. The check in was done on line in advance as the ferry arrived after the Office closed. We were worried that there would be some sort of mix up. But Belinda in the office and the Ruby and team at picton were great and there was a big notice on the dashboard welcoming us. We liked omega so much we arranged another car on the north Island Cheers

We hired a Toyota Corolla 2017 and it was the best little car I have ever hires. Small enough for three people to travel comfortably in and powerful enough to saftely over take any car. It was fantastic to drive around the South Islands windy roads,. The pick up and drop off went smoothly and the staff where all very friendly. Will definitely hire with Omega again.

We had a great rental except for the radio screen being in Japanese. Very poor radio reception on the South Island in general. Otherwise the service was fine. Had an easy pick up in Picton and excellent drop off in Queenstown

I rented 3 cars over 3 weeks from Omega and can say that despite it being their busy season and me not booking in advance on 2 out of 3 occasions the staff went out of their way to accommodate me. I lost the mount for my GPS and the staff in Picton in helped me with one that did the job. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to someone looking for good value and service in a car rental company.

I pre-booked a Corolla Monday to Thursday. Excellent service, greeted by name, the right car ready and waiting, off earlier than planned. Fabulous trip from Picton to Nelson, then out to the Abel Tasman reserve. Returning the car at Nelson airport was just as easy - again greeted by name. Directed to the local filling station to top up then straight on to their shuttle bus to the terminal. Really nice friendly people ready & waiting at both ends. Perfect. Enjoyed the light banter too. Omega is a great company to deal with we booked the car on line from Vancouver, Canada. They emailed me all the paper work and filled it out and sent back. I had a couple of questions about where to pick up as office would be closed when we arrived on the ferry from Wellington to Picton.They gave me clear instructions on where to get the car. Called when on ferry and they were very pleasant to talk to and went over the instructions again to refresh and all went well Car was well maintained and in good condition. We drove from Picton to Nelson then down the east coast to Invercargill then up to Queenstown over a 16 day tour. Car worked flawlessly and was great on fuel. I spent 15 to 20 minutes learning the car and all its functions. This was time well spent as when you start driving you are not trying to figure things out and can consentrate on the road. Just a note as well as I was driving on the left side of road for the first time so I went on line and found some really good sites that gave you some driving simulations and tips that really helped out I will be booking with Omega from now on when ever available.

Great service, would recommend for your trip. I'd made the mistake of booking our car one day later and not realizing until we'd taken the ferry into Picton. We scrambled to see if we could find a different car to no avail, but we were fortunate enough that our booked vehicle with Omega was already waiting in the lot and ready to go. No problems and no hassles switching the reservation to that day, saving our trip. The depot is a short walk from the ferry, however pickups and dropoffs are arrangeable which makes it a non-issue. Our Rav-4 presented no problems on our 3 day excursion along the west coast. Friendly service and easy interactions throughout.

Excellent, no-fuss service. This was the second time in NZ I have used Omega. They were good the first time and were even better this time around. Nice people to deal with in Auckland, Wellington, Picton and Christchurch. The cars were really good - we had a 2017 Subaru Forester on both islands. This is the perfect car for touring NZ and I think it is a way more comfortable vehicle to drive on the winding roads than some gaudy painted van or motorhome. Our friends had a Corolla from Omega and they also said it was good to drive in the local conditions. Omega are very price competitive and the worry as a customer is that the service will not be as good as some of the more expensive rivals. This is not the case with Omega. First class, straightforward service. Will use them again on the next visit to Kiwiland!

Great experience. Rented a Corolla Hatch for 18 days and had no problems. The service was efficient both at the pick-up and drop of the car. Highly recommend.

Excellent service from pick up to drop off which included a change in vehicles once we reached the South Island. Customer service by staff onon t phone and in person was great; always courteous and patient with good suggestions. Both the vehicles we were provided were new, clean and in great running condition. The rates including insurance are reasonable. Will certainly use this service again, very impressed.

Booked the car through WebJet. Picked it up in Picton - all went perfectly. Was met at ferry terminal by very friendly and helpful Omega staff member. Was able to collect car and leave within 30 mins. Dropped car off in Queenstown - also very simple and good. Car was as promised (booked a 2015 Toyota RAV4 and got 2016(ish) Subaru Forester. Would happily use Omega again.

We had a great experience overall with our rental and specially the team at Picton. The manager was a very friendly and nice man. He got us a rental on a very short notice during a busy season. Great service, and the best price I could find,. Excellent car picked up from the airport, with a full tank of gas, ready to go. Superb insurance cover options, at a great price, giving peace of mind.

The hire rates were a lot cheaper with Omega than other rental companies, and the car was almost new, superbly clean, staff were very professional, pick up and dorp off were very smooth. Could not have ask for anything more, Would highly recommend.

General experiences was good and I would use Omega again. Two things that could be enhanced. 1. I picked the car up from Christchurch airport. A map of the car location was provided. While helpful, 4 adults in our party had difficulty locating the car with the map. A review of the map that accounts for various exit points from within the terminal would assist. We all know the high cost hire companies threaten us with if we do not return the car with a full tank. The car tank was not full (Just below the next line on the fuel gauge) which is just frustrating. I didn't complain at the time and maybe they would have reimbursed me had I done this and given them the opportunity to address the matter. I broke the rear windscreen of the car.(I still don't know how that happened and I suspect a faulty windscreen) That said I knew from the contract I was responsible for any such damage and when I contacted the company the staff were very efficient and helpful in helping to get it sorted. lets hope the travel insurance comes through.

So impressed with Omega’s service and efficiency. If you are looking at taking the Bluebridge ferry to Picton and renting a car OMEGA is the one. Right by the ferry terminal and petrol station with great out-of-hours approach, I will definitely use Omega again.

Great customer service and price was excellent. Drove two cars: a Corolla (South Island. Christchurch to Invercargill, Te Anau, Karamea, Picton) & a Camry (North Island. Wellington to Rotorua, Whangarei, Waipoua Kauri Forest, Auckland). Cars are older but in good condition. Never had an issue. Would rent from Omega again.

I called on Wednesday morning and got a relocation deal for the next morning. I wanted to go from from Picton to Dunedin to see friends performing in a show! Kelvin gave me a great deal on insurance and also arranged another deal for me to pick up a car to relocate from Christchurch back to Picton after I flew the portion from Queenstown to Christchurch. The drive was awesome, both the SUV and car were spotlessly clean and drove extremely well. The staff at all three branches were friendly, efficient and helpful. I can totally recommend Omega and would definitely use them again. Since I only have older vehicles I was amazed at the fuel efficiency! Brilliant value for money :-) THANKS!

We took a hire car from the Picton Depot and were served by Andrew, he was friendly, efficient and got us on our way quickly. The return was equally smooth and he provided us with a lift back to the ferry terminal - excellent service!

The first car a small Mazda, had a fault with a thumping noise, loose shock absorber I thought. Returned immediately and Andy, at Picton, gave us a better vehicle. The car being a Toyota performed well. Stone chips and scratches were recorded so we had a copy as well. Pulled into Omega's office in Queenstown and Belinda checked vehicle without any fuss. We would hire from Omega again. Price was good and service friendly.

This is a company which gives great service. We arrived at Picton on the ferry from Wellington, and the car was parked right next to the baggage reclaim area. Absolutely no problems with the car itself throughout some 4K of driving in 3 weeks. Cannot ask for more than that!

Showed up, car was ready to go and had been upgraded, everything went very smoothly. The same for the return; dropped the car off, had the inspection, everything was good to go and that was it. Had I known it would be that easy and straightforward, I would have made the decision to rent with Omega much sooner.

Was looking forward to another good experience after my Auckland hire. My new ride was a Toyota Camry of about 3 years old judging from the mileage; performed to expectation as well as it looked when I first set eye on it. My experience on the service this time round was a bit marred by the return in Christchurch. It started out well enough with another pickup from my lodging to get the Camry in Picton. Same prelim and was told not to worry unduly about the existing nicks on the car as I've got insurance. However, on surrendering the car in Christchurch was kept waiting as the black chap over there started to nick-pick off the check list. Was told a particular nick above the mud guard turned out to be a substantial "dent" implying my doing. If it were so, where did the original nick went as if I could miraculously dent the same spot? Caught off guard, couldn't do much but to spend the next 10 minutes haggling over whether the rest of the nicks on the body and windscreen were my doing or were hand-me-downs. It is fine if Omega do this with customers in the first place during the car collection. As it was already 4.45pm was told he couldn't drop me off for the 2.5km distance to my lodging, a 5 mins drive. Overall, I must say the cars and the service are good as my other hire at Rotorua didn't get me quite as good a ride.

Our car performed very well during our 12 day trip over the South Island. We had taken it in Christchurch and could drop it off in Picton without extra cost involved. The free transport from airport to office and later from office to ferry was prompt and convenient. And on top of that the rent was the lowest I had come across during my internet search. We were really glad to have chosen an Omega car!

Booked 2 previas and pickup point at Nelson airport. But our flight was cancelled and we caught a ferry instead to Picton. Omega moved our pickup point to Picton hassle free. Both cars are quite new. Thank Omega you have saved our holiday trip.

We were grateful to be able to get a car from Picton as everyone else was sold out. Omega's cars are older and correspondingly less expensive, so be advised of this. The service was friendly and pick up and drop off were easy.

Great service thank you Omega. Hired a car for a few days this week. Arrived after hours at Picton on the Bluebridge and walked strait onto the Bluebridge shuttle to the ferry terminal. Arrived there 5 mins later, collected my bags and walked about 20 metres to where the hire car was parked outside with my name on the dashboard. Easy. Took the car to the depot on my way back. Strait into an Omega shuttle to the Interislander. If you are arriving or dropping off after hours be sure to arrange this ahead of time and read the instructions. Thanks again.

Kelvin, at the Picton office, went out of his way to ensure a refreshingly seamless pickup. He was an extraordinarily accommodating, friendly and personable man. We were floored by his service. Well done, Kelvin! The Queenstown office, where we ended our trip, were also warm, friendly folks. We're thrilled with Omega, and should luck be in our favor and we find ourselves in NZ again, they'll be our choice of car rental.

Car was dependable and easy to drive. It stayed on the left side of the road the whole trip. I was so impressed that In Picton our car was parked outside of the ferry terminal ready to go. No standing in line !! Paperwork was completed in Wellington. Car return was easy also.

When we first saw the car it looked like it had a lot of surface dents but it was a comfortable ride and was well serviced. The vehicle drove well. The service when both picking up and dropping off the car was prompt and efficient. Thanks Omega.

No real complaints,only a mishap with a tyre that was beyond repair. The car given to me in Auckland was in very poor condition,the tyres were practically on the threadbare. The car on the South Island was in better condition,no mishaps. The service in general was professional, I had to purchase another tyre, the money was credited on my card with no problem,turned the car in one day earlier in Wellington and the remaining day was credited on the SI car.

Omega are a great rental car company. We were referred to them years ago by a Kiwi friend in Picton. In her accent we thought she said "Amigo". That is not altogether wrong as they are very friendly and easy to work with. As a small company, they sometimes close before the ferry gets to Picton. But don't let that put you off. The car was right in the ferry terminal car park with access to keys as described. We use Omega whenever they are an option.

A good experience with a rental car company. Not a new car, but well maintained, clean, and in good condition. A good touch - detergent in the windscreen washer water.

I was a little sceptical given how cheap these guys were, but we got first class service for the full 6 weeks we were in NZ. As we didnt want to pay to take the car from North to South Island they helped us plan it so we could drop off the car and get a lift to the ferry as foot passengers from them - awesome, and much cheaper! The budget cars are old (ours had 200,000 kms on the clock) but are impecably maintained which means you get where you want to without problems. I'd definitely use them again.

Everything went well with this rental until we tried to return it. The instructions said at the Queenstown airport but there is no Omega rental site there with the other car rental companies. Even the people at the airport parking area didn't know where you were. We then checked Google maps, who gave us an address for Omega but after driving there, it turned out there was no Omega office there either. Finally we had to phone and work our way through the various phone prompts. Thankfully a human answered and we were given the right address--several kilometres from the airport. All of this while wondering if we would miss our flight since we'd wasted so much time driving around! So Omega--please get your computer geeks to correct the return address in Queenstown, and amend your written instructions!! We were about to dump your car on the street and leave the keys inside and run for our flight.

Ideal for the Bluebridge ferry terminal. All smooth and quick both collecting and returning. Car was middle range and worked fine, including the necessary air-con! I would use Omega again.

Kelvin looked after us well, and the car was easy to find - important when the arriving at midnight. A well-priced petrol pump by the return depot too.

Could not fault these guys. I completed our hire agreement in a hurry and at the last minute, scanned and sent it, and only realised when Kelvin phoned and we were en-route to Wellington on Good Friday that I had omitted to sign in some important places. Kelvin (sorry if spelled incorrectly!) was patient and forgiving and got it sorted for us, despite it being a public holiday. When we next need a rental car in the South Island, I'll definitely be going back to these guys and completely recommend them. Cheerful, friendly, no-stress service.

Just finished an awesome trip from Queenstown to Picton, we were picked up at Queenstown airport super quick and were driving our super sexy hatchback Corolla in no time. Had an easy time getting our snow chains on because of the handy video provided in store and great tips from the staff. We needed a cheap and cheerful option and hired an older model Corolla ... it served us well, and was cheap to run. Sometimes the office at the ferry terminal gets a little overwhelmed by lots of people all wanting service at once, but will happily use Omega again

Everything was great, especially the staff.. No real complaints but, a couple of suggestions. (1) Someone had cleaned the top of the dash and made it so clean it shined. Problem was that when driving into the sun, it reflected on the screen so bad I could not see very well. Had to drive around with a black fleece on the dash to stop the reflection. (2) A battery in the key fob would have been nice.

The whole process of car rental from Omega went smoothly - we were picked up from our boat and dropped back at the airport and the car ran smoothly over the 3 weeks we spent exploring the beautiful South Island of New Zealand.

Because we were picking up and dropping off the car outside of Omega's operating hours, the car was waiting for us at the ferry terminal carpark when we arrived and we also left it there when we were done, so easy!
