Everything went well. we were collected by the van at Queenstown Airport and taken to the Omega depot. We received the car within about 10 minutes, we had a Toyota Vitz which was fine, nice and easy to drive. We extended the the rental of the car whilst we had it, this was as simple as making a call to Omega and they then charged the extra to my credit card. Drop of was nice and simple, we were then dropped back to the airport by the van.

All the boxes ticked. Amazing staff that helped out with pickup and drop, very quick no hassles. The car was totally to our expectations, as requested. Our first trip to Queenstown and I wanted a good rental car for the whole driving experience and comfort for the whole family. One can never go wrong with a Rav4 and ours was a luxurious model with all the bells and whistle. Very well maintained and I loved driving it. Had to extend the rental for an extra day and the team made it happen, no problems. Full points to the Omega team for providing us with an excellent vehicle at an affordable rate. You guys have found yourself a permanent customer. Thanks for being an essential part of our memorable journey.

I've rented from Omega once before in Wellington and it was a great service so thought I'd look no further for Queenstown. Everything went without a hitch. They picked us up from the airport quickly, gave us the car and told me to take photos of the car in case of any disputes as I didn't opt in for the excess waiver. I did and I didn't have any problems at the end. When I wanted to extend the hire by 2 days they did some juggling and said no problem. Then, when my family and I had to go into isolation for a few days, I suggested they come and get the car as it was sitting doing nothing they said they would. No problem. Then I remembered we had to go for Covid testing the next day! I rang back and said could we keep it a bit longer. They said no problem, keep it until we go and there would also be no extra charge. This was amazing news as we were already incurring extra costs in accommodation and airport car parking back home! Highly recommend this company for their service, friendliness, quick communication, and pricing. Very competitive. Thanks team, you were a great help.

Excellent service with very reasonable prices. The shuttle from the airport was fast and easy with the paperwork only taking a minute, plus the car was as advertised - clean too. It is very nice that their cars don’t have any rental advertising them unlike other companies as that can make them more prone to theft. Perhaps my only complaint with a late model Corolla was the speed alerts - if you don’t brake fast enough going through a speed change, or if speed gets higher than what is set on cruise control it always audibly tells you to obey all traffic rules which gets very annoying after some time! It is very sensitive so if there was an option to disable it that would be a plus. I will certainly be using them again next time I need a rental car.

Great little car: the Toyota Aqua Hybrid went over 700km on a tank of petrol.. Yes, it is a few years old, but it drove really well and Omega Queenstown were fine to rent from (we also used them from Nelson last year). They pick you up at the airport and take you to their depot to do the paperwork. We wanted to drop off after hours for our late return flight, so I dropped off the passenger and luggage at the airport, and left the car and the key at their depot (40 minute walk back to airport). Pick up from the airport was quick and easy, as was the drop off upon returning the car. Staff were efficient and the car was in clean and well maintained state. Price was competitive, especially once you factor in the insurance access reduction. Have used Omega rentals in different cities and will happily do so again.

Easy afterhours return process. It's $11 uber ride to the airport (cheaper if you select Lakes district hospital then walk across the road). Excellent customer service by Belinda who put in the extra effort to get my booking sorted. The Rav4 4wd was clean, tidy, reliable. Competitive pricing as well compared to the rest. My 2nd time renting a car from Omega, will keep going back to them in the future.

Super simple process! We were picked up by shuttle from the airport, taken to the office and received keys to our Toyota Vitz within 10 minutes. The car was clean and tidy, really easy and smooth to drive, great on gas. The staff were lovely and explained everything thoroughly. When we dropped off it took maybe 5 minutes or less and then were shuttled right away back to the airport. Great company and service.

Fast pick-up from the airport; competitive pricing on the car we rented; easy check-out and drop off at the airport. Car was overall in good condition except for the wheel alignment that we informed Omega when we returned the car. Also we took Gold insurance but we didn't realized it doesn't cover tires; and also something like if we had a single accident not involving any other drivers we would have to pay for the towing. So not really a Gold Insurance.

Got to rental car place. Rushed through even though it was quiet. Told it was a push button start vehicle. Never used one before so had trouble finding how to start car. Had to go back inside and (embarasment) had to ask someone to show me. The car had not been cleaned. When I got to our hotel I noticed the mechanics had left some kind of machine on the back seat. Next morning I had to return the machine back to the rental shop. Apart from all that the car drove nicely.

Absolutely 💯 percent recommend using this company based down the road from Queenstown Airport which also does Pegasus Car Rentals. Shuttle pick up and drops off at the airport. Franco and his team had everything set and ready to go on our arrival, the car we booked was great for the two of us. Made the beginning of our trip to Wanaka from Queenstown feel awesome and off to a great start.

Very easy process of collecting car and dropping off. Great customer service. Only thing was that when we picked up the car it was quite dirty with dust on the outside. We didn’t notice anything until day 2 we saw some chips in the windscreen we didn’t think we did it but we called up to let them know. Because we had gold insurance they didn’t care. So that was a relief. Although we didn’t think we did it anyway because the car was quite dirty we didn’t notice. Going forward inspect the car before leaving to make sure any damage. Or get the gold insurance lol.

Hired a little Mazda Demio for our 4-day stay in Queenstown. The car was clean, a little older so no bluetooth #FirstWorldProblem lol....No complaints about the process - shuttle came on time. We rented an entry level car and received a Mazda Demio. It was no Rolls Royce but it was reliable and very economical on the gas. It sat comfortably on the road at 100km/h and had enough get up and go on the hills. It was a perfect choice for my wife and I and fit 2 suit cases and "her" shopping comfortably. I have rented from Omega in the past without issue and will rent them again.

Great value considering what car rentals normally cost in Queenstown. Located close to the airport, but no shuttle after 5 pm, so I caught a taxi to the depot. Car was clean and had no issues (just needed to put a bit of air in the tyres) and it was fuel efficient. Friendly staff and good communication along the booking process and in person.

Cool staff and very helpful but come on such a big company and during Covid19 and no pay wave and in Queenstown (crazy tourism place)- no offence. However the car price is good and got a Mazda Demio during peak rentals @ $60 per day and unlimited and got ne $40 on approx 500km can't ask for more

We had nothing to say about hiring the car in Queenstown it was smooth and with no hidden charges. They also charges the cheapest among the car rentals I was looking through that time. The car they gave us is new and very spacious, and it was the way I expected it as what I have booked in the website. Returning it was quick and smooth as well no problem with them, unlike the previous car rental we had in the South Island last year, that charged so many insurance fees that we already paid full online but kept on telling us it was different. Omega Rentals were true to what they show in their website when I booked it no additional charges in the counter. The only downside was the chain I hired, when we were fitting it, it did not fit in the car's wheel we were having hard time connecting the two clasps. I was just concern that what if we need it for emergency situation, as we already got stock on ice on our trip that week and our car skidded too but luckily no one was hurt. I hope during the pick up of the car they will show us the chain do really fit before we go. When we asked the staff upon returning they said it was the right size without showing it to us.

Picked up my car on 31/10/21 at about 10.30am. The service by the counter staff was very impersonal. After signing contract, given car key to get on my way. No briefing on car spare tyre, tools and whether I should keep an eye on anything in the car when driving long distances to avoid a breakdown. In the advertisement on google Omega stated : 1. Free 24 AA Roadservice. IN MY CONTRACT it is stated I have to pay $90 -$165 to AA for AA assistance in case of a. Out of fuel b. Key lock out c. Flat battery d. Changing tyre Hence not sure what ' FREE AA SERVICE Omega says in its advertisement relates to?? 2. Did not receive free Omega Travel guides, Touring & AA Travel road atlas. 3. Inside of car was clean. It would have nice if the outside of the car had been given a wash to remove the dirt etc. As it was our first trip to Queenstown, it would have been nice if the service was more welcoming, helpful and informative. I hope you will accept the above, review your current practices and improve on it for the future. Since we are locals we knew where to get the information etc. I feel sorry for foreigners who hire a car and do not get some additional help to get started. Car drop off on 10/11/21 was no problem. Counter staff was very helpful including helping take the bags out of the car at the airport. Apart from the above concerns, we had a pleasant tour around Queenstown. The weather was very pleasant..abit too hot though. We had no problems with the car.

I just returned my car. The car was clean, safe and perfect. The location is not in walking distance from the airport but there is a shuttle bus from/to the airport to their location. Drop off and pick up services was awesome as the depot is quite a distance to the airport terminal.We were lucky as our departure and arrival flights were within Omega's working hours. It would have been great if we were informed about the scratch and rust marks. Lucky for us we noticed it as soon as we got out the car at our first stop. The rust meant it was old, however there were also scratch marks. If we had not noticed it then we would have thought this happened whilst in our possession. The best experience I've ever had with car rental services so far. Our shuttle was full and it seemed it would take time to process all of us. They brought our cars close to the office in advance, and I didn't even realize how quick everyone got their keys, as it took literally a few seconds for the paper work. Returning was also super quick. Waiting time for shuttle in both directions didn't exceed 10 mins. Thanks a lot, will definitely come back again!

Really easy to hire through the website and the complimentary shuttle to and from the airport was very convenient! The only thing we found was that when we arrived to get our rental car, the boot did not have a boot cover, however with a small request from us the team were able to help us switch to another vehicle and provide a makeshift cover which provided about 50% coverage - which was better than no coverage. Really appreciated the quick changes that were made for us!

Reliable and fuel efficient car for a decent price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If we didn't rent a car there is no way we would have been able to see everything we did in our limited time on the South Island. Omega even picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. Car was great. Clean, well presented and ran well. Only issue was that we were unaware until we arrived at Queenstown that the Omega Depot was quite some distance from the airport. A shuttle is provided during working hours but as our outgoing flight was at 7am we needed to drop the car off at the depot at 6am and take a $26 taxi ride back to the airport. Perhaps a drop off point at or near the airport could be arranged for after hours drop offs.

Pick up and dropping of car was extremely efficient and straightforward. Took the maximum CDW for the toyota highlander and was happy I did that as my windscreen had a crack whilst my road trip. Was also very honest as they were willing to revise my quote after I told them that I had a discount code. The boot space was huge enough for 4 big 30” luggages and 5 more smaller ones. Thankfully we picked that over RAV4. Highly recommended.

Pickup from airport on shuttle, taken to Omega yard and car was ready on arrival, Very professional outline of the terms and conditions, also went around and showed the marks on car (which is also drawn on diagram to ensure no shady business for false charges) Insurance is easy to sort. Full tank, Only real rule is not damage car, be safe while driving and they have a contact number incase of emergency. Also return car back on Full tank. We used Omega Rentals for 11 days around the South Island. We were very happy with our experience using them. The car was great , modern and clean ( Rav 4 2018). The service provided was excellent, they picked us up from the airport and dropped us back straight away. I will definitely be using Omega again.

2nd time renting from Omega Rental Cars in Queenstown. The latest one was over this past ANZAC weekend. They are one of a few companies I've asked who allow pets in their vehicles. Quite helpful for us as we took our little 10 month old pup with us this time around. Just gave them a call when we arrived at Queenstown Airport and we were picked up promptly to uplift our vehicle from their depot. Staff were real pleasant and some of them even had a play with the little pup. We were processed quickly and were on our way. The vehicle (Family SUV, Toyota RAV4) was very clean and tidy. After a late afternoon flight into Queenstown, to add to our problems it was found that our booking with another car hire company had not been recorded. Although very busy and under pressure, they managed to arrange a replacement car hire within a few minutes and we were on our way. On returning the process was quick and we were on the way to the airport in no time. The prices were much lower than the big players. The car was modern and clean with all the bells and whistle's that you expect today. This will be the car hire company we will look to first in future.

We were very pleased with the pickup from Queenstown Airport and the simplicity of the paperwork. After having hired cars for many years this was by far the easiest to complete and to drive away. Was a quick and stress-free process once we got to our destination. Pick up was quick and then getting the car was easy. Even had the boot open ready for us to put our bags in. Instructions on everything was laid out and easy to follow. The car itself was good, enough space to fit 3 carseats at the back and plenty of space in the boot, clean and tidy when picked up. Only grumble and why it's 4 stars and not 5, was we thought the booster seats were full ones, but were only half boosters, so we had to go hire one from another source to fit our 4 year old in. Price was cheaper than most competitors so well one. Would recommend to others, just check carseats are right before choosing them.

We picked up a Corolla sedan at Queenstown airport which performed flawlessly and got us all around the bottom of the South Island and up to Christchurch without a hiccup, good on gas too. As far as I can tell this is the only company that doesn't charge ridiculous amounts for child car seats and boosters (they give them to you free!). They'll continue to get my business as long as this is the case. Also during the latest lockdown they offered to let us keep the car until they were able to open their Queestown store again - free of charge. Highly recommended.

Omega Rental Cars is my wife usually used when we travel in New Zealand. She normally makes a booking online which is vey easy and they response very quick. She informed Omega to cancel the booking due to Auckland Covid lock down on the second last day of our trip started. One of the staff sent an email to confirm after checking the flight's status. We hired a Toyota Highlander (or similar) and were pleased that we did actually get a Highlander as it annoys me when you request something and you get something different. We phoned once we were ready for pickup from Queenstown airport and they were very prompt. The paperwork was completed in minutes and we were off. The car was pristine ... I can’t say that upon return. We were on many dirt roads and up the mountain skiing, so it’s going to need a good clean again! Return procedure was quick and easy, and a courtesy trip back to the airport with a lovely driver. I would definitely recommend and use Omega again. They had the best price for a large SUV and service was not compromised.

Cheap and cheerful. Cars were well used Japanese imports - good luck working the sat nav! Not the base spec nearly new stuff you get from the big boys. That said you don’t pay a premium as a result. Also no extra fees you can’t get out of. Usual sell ups like insurance etc. Much better to sort your own out online. Staff could have been friendlier. Pick up from terminal was fine. First car we were given developed a fault with one of the headlights. Fortunately we were in Queenstown still. No questions asked, we returned it and got a replacement. I’d much rather use these than the likes of Avis etc who’s sole purpose seems to be to rip you off.

We had a problem with our rental car showing a fault with the engine light on the dashboard. After returning the second one the staff member upgraded us to a Rav4. There were no problems with this vehicle. When we dropped off the vehicle, the manager was there to personally apologise and to explain why that light had come up on the dashboard - it was because where they were parked, wild rabbits were chewing through the cables. She gave us a refund for 1 days hire. She was very helpful and we would use Omega again, and thoroughly recommend them.

Great service and the Toyota Rav4 AWD we had for 10 days was great. Tidy, clean and well served, a few dings and scratches but this should always be somewhat expected with a rental, especially when given a great rate and a no premium insurance policy, which costs a little extra but great peace of mind. The pick up from the airport was prompt and very friendly with the base not very far away. Quick in and out for the paperwork and keys and we were of. On the return it was all the same, and when we got out of the van at the airport I realised that I'd dropped my phone somewhere, the really nice young lady driving was great, helping to look around the van for a phone plus the office was just as prompt looking in the rental we had just returned. Couldn't find anything, but when we phoned my phone after the van had left, the driver heard it as it had slid all the way to the back. She returned, jumped out of her van and came running into the airport with it, what service plus a happy thank you hug all around, really happy to have my phone back with so many photos of of our fantastic holiday. While looking for a rental car in Queenstown Omega was by far the most affordable. The car we hired was a trusted and reliable Nissan Tiida. Mechanically the car was in top shape with no issues and it drove really well. The service was great. I would have given a 5 star rating but the car smelt really bad (damp wet smell). We only noticed it the next morning. After calling Omega to see if we could possibly swap the car they offered to clean it again. We never had time to wait for the car to be cleaned so we ended up buying 2 air fresheners that made the smell bearable. I would definitely use omega again and hopefully get a better smelling car.

Attentive and helpful staff - my total cost was reduced by 1 x day of hire due to the time I picked up the car and my intention to return an hour earlier than I had indicated on my online booking. Booked a car from Queenstown airport office NZ. The booking process was fast, efficient and excellent value. On arrival, I was picked up quickly from the airport and taken to their nearby office. Despite being very busy, the staff at the office dealt with my rental pick-up perfectly. They completed the paperwork in very good time, talked me through everything in a friendly but efficient manner and I was on the road very soon. The car was super clean and in good condition. During the rental period, I called in to add a friend to the additional drivers and this was made super-easy and dealt with clearly and in a matter of minutes on the phone - we didn't have to return to base, simply scanned her driving licence on a mobile phone and emailed it over. Confirmation that she was covered came back immediately. On returning the car, I was again struck at how efficient and friendly all the staff were and I was dropped off at the airport in a matter of minutes, despite being the only person who needed it - no waiting for the van to fill up, as I've experienced elsewhere. I'd like to mention a young guy in the office called Jimmy who was super-helpful and pointed out a mistake on my original booking that I'd not noticed, rectifying it immediately (he didn't need to do that as the rental was over and I hadn't noticed). Overall, Omega is a really good company and far superior to some of the other 'value' rental car cos I dealt with whilst in New Zealand (or elsewhere in the world, actually!). I would highly recommend them over any of the others and their prices and condition of their cars are great. I will now be looking for an Omega whenever and wherever I travel.

Booked through Airport Rentals who sub-contracted car hire to Omega and Airport Rentals issued insurance. Insurance was very confusing to Omega who wanted to add more, confusing to me with my travel insurance also. Vehicle was 7 year old 2012 Mazda Demio, very beaten up with smashed and rusty rear wheel arch, scratched, dented all over especially the roof. They would not exchange for better presented vehicle, said all stock committed. Very disappointed as used for wedding. When driving there was a noticeable delay in the auto transmission when it changed gear. This was particularly discomforting and happened a lot because there are many hills in Queenstown- it had a small motor. Old model 2012, no automatic head lights turn off nor GPS. Omega staff pleasant to deal with. Would only consider them next time if I was guaranteed a well presented car. Transport to and from airport good.

Probably the easiest car rental company I have ever dealt with. There were absolutely no hidden costs or nasty surprises. Everything was explained perfectly in the booking process online - and on confirmation, they even sent video links on how to fit snow chains etc. Really forward thinking and quite rare these days - not trying to leech a few extra dollars out of you by springing costs on you when you arrive and basically leaving you no choice but to go with it. Very impressed, and won't even bother considering any other companies from here on in when travelling to NZ. The shuttle from the airport was there to pick us up within minutes of our call, and collecting the car was painless and quick- much quicker than the big rental companies! Really good cheap rental car - older compact over new year for a couple of weeks at least $12/day cheaper than any other budget offer at the time. It ran around fine and economically for us. Pick up and drop off service from Queenstown airport was efficient and the team were friendly. I wasn't so impressed about the conditions relating to excess/"third party insurance" - once it becomes arm's length like that the rental company just charge you (like it or not, fault or not, their discretion) and it's up to you to deal with the insurance company that their website offered to you :~ Fortunately we didn't have any damage or claim. The insurance company also appeared to have overcharged our credit card by $80 compared to the documentation they sent us. That query was resolved when they provided the summary that showed they had taken $80 deposit towards the car rental at the time. So when it came to taking the money they weren't a third party after all. ???

The service at Omega was good. Pick up and drop off of the car was smooth, including the shuttle to and from the airport. The car itself was also good. We were travelling with a child and they provided and installed a child seat. During booking, the car I initially requested was not available, so they contacted me and offered another, more expensive, car but at the price of the one I originally expected.

Easy to book and no fuss. Low thrills second tier cars but first tier service. They were polite, quick and helpful. When booking they gave by far the best information on booking and using the car on the Inter-islander ferry and booked the tickets for us at no extra cost above the normal ferry ticket. The car was a good little workhorse, even when taken down some unsealed roads and so we had no complaints. They have the odd scratch and bump and quite a few miles on the clock but ours was ideal and economical and large enough for all our stuff for two (and some). Airport transfers were efficient with no issues. Therefore we would recommend them and use them again if visiting NZ.

Price wise, it was a good deal considering our length of stay and they coordinated well with the car seat and trolley rental company to have these baby stuff attached into the rental car as we traveled with an infant. You look like a local and they don’t “brand” their cars with Omega stickers, so nobody knows it’s a rental (good alternative protection for your belongings even though you’re in NZ and should never worry anyway!). No problems at all. We called the Queenstown number on arrival and were promptly picked up and driven to their airport lot. New offices and car park are being built, so the place was a definite building site. The car was ready and waiting. No problems with the paperwork following the on-line booking. We paid for the car, were provided with information on the Auckland return location and off we went. 3,550 km later we returned the car which was also a simple process. Car was a bit gutless (our choice of car, 91 octane fuel and it had done 188,000 km) but was it cheap and we just traveled a bit slower which is easy to do on NZ roads. Have hired from Omega before and would hire from them again.

Hired car in Queenstown for drop off in Auckland 24 days later. I have used Omega exclusively for cars for the last seven years that I have been travelling to NZ (usually two times a year) as I have family in the North Island. Cheapest rental I could find in Queenstown from a company without a host of poor reviews. Car was old and barebones, with almost 100,000 miles on the odometer. But it functioned just fine and more than met my needs. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Airport pickup was timely and they graciously dropped me off at a hotel on the way back to the airport per a special request. Only real problem with car was a kind of crummy radio. I would rent from them again, but maybe be a bit more picky about exactly which car I accepted.

The paperwork took about 5 minutes to do and just a review of the guide for driving in NZ (do read it if you are used to driving on the right side of the road!). The car worked well and was clean and the drop off process just as simple as the pick-up. It was also nice that you weren't a constant advertisement with huge stickers on the sides or back of the car. I feel like those almost put a target on your back for break-ins. It was much cheaper than other companies and everything went smoothly from the shuttle from Queenstown airport to the Omega office and at the drop-off in Christchurch. I used Omega twice in 6 weeks. I was very impressed with the hire of both vehicles. Firstly the airport pick up and drop off worked like a dream. The cars are what you ordered, they have chips and sctratches but i found that ok as the roads in NZ do have lots of roadworks so you dont worry about the gravel etc as you would in a sparkling chip-free car. The mileage was 25k and 35k and both cars were good, both helpfully had reversing cameras. The staff in Queenstown were ultra friendly and helpful, Nelson drop off were friendly and attentive the guy who served me in Auckland was helpful but the overall office there wasnt as friendly as the others. Overall i was happy as the price was very competative and the and service good.

The cheapest quote with comprehensive insurance coverage that I could find for my 11 days South Island trip. The car rented was a 2014 Toyota Corolla 1.8. The condition of the car was good and clean. Paperwork was hassle free if you get the comprehensive insurance and this will save you the stress from any accidental damage on the car. This is the last thing you would want to deal with on a holiday trip.

Got a rental car over the Christmas holidays and rates were good. Communication with staff was excellent. After hours pick up involves paying for the airport parking fee, which wasn't ideal. The office is a few minutes drive from the airport so when dropping off they have a shuttle to bring you to the airport. It was easy and streamlined but I just forgot about the drop-off location myself.

One of the cheaper options in the Queenstown area, hence not being in the terminal building at the airport, and the fleet, from what we could see, was a little older than some of the other larger rental car companies. This being said, the pick up and drop off to and from the airport was efficient and is only 5 minutes away, so was no problem. The SUV we had was large enough for our family of 5, including 3 teenagers, and while a little older with quite a few km's on the clock, everything worked fine. You get what you pay for, so we were very happy with the value and quality when taken on balance with the economical price. Would happily recommend.

We had no issues at all using Omega Rentals Queenstown Airport Branch. Booking online was super quick and easy. Email response times were super fast and we would get a response within 5 mins of sending an email. When we arrived and collected our bags I phoned Omega to advise that we were ready to be collected and the shuttle came straight away, we only waited 5 mins! Collection of the car went off without a hitch and within 15 mins we had our car which was a lovely Mazda Demio! The car was great and served us well for the time we were there. The team were very nice and were very accommodating for our needs. We purchased a car charger from a local Noel Leeming only to find it wouldn't work in the car so we went back to them to see if it was a fault in the car and they changed a fuse without question very quickly. As it turned out the fault was with the car charger itself and not the car but the team at Omega even let us borrow one of their chargers for our time there which was lovely. A last minute flight change meant that we needed the car for a couple hours extra. I emailed through the night before we left and they responded within minutes saying we could have the car for the time we needed at no extra cost! I can't say anything else but give praise. Will definitely hire from Omega again when we are back down in Queenstown. Keep up the great service!

I asked for a cheapie this time, to keep costs down, and the car I ended up with was an aging Nissan Sunny with about 200,000 km on the clock. Yes an older car with many small dings in the metal work, but it was well tuned, had good tyres and ran like a dream. All for a great price that made it worth getting full insurance and therefore no worries. Excellent friendly service was thrown in as usual at the pickup and dropoff point, and quick transport back and forth from the airport. Highly recommended.

Also, they are only open standard working hours, so if you want to arrive or depart outside of these, you can't. Overall pretty good, but needs to deal with these issues.

If you're coming from the airport there is no direct turn into their driveway, just head to the next round about and double back. Great pick up and drop off from the girls at Qtown depot - very efficient. Small Mazda did the job at a great price point. Only negative fuel gauge was sticking at 3/4 full which could have been a drama for any driver not paying attention to distance/usage and bonnet catch release was not working. When I fixed it , was pretty clear that the bonnet had not been up between hires as coolant was very low. Topped it up and gave the staff the bottle when we got back and reported these faults. But all up still very positive and would rent again from Omega no problems.

We hired a Subaru Forester to go skiing for a week in July complete with ski rack & snowchains. The website was easy to navigate & airport shuttle system was efficient. The staff were helpful & car was great. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that our snow chains were a little different to the ones in the video they showed us & the pictures on the printed instructions were difficult to see in the dark so it took us a while to work out how to fit the chains on the side of the road when it was raining/snowing. With some help from a local we eventually worked it out. As the insurance doesn't cover damage to the car from poorly fitted snow chains I'd recommend that if renting in July to Sep for skiing & you aren't familiar with all the different types, that you get the staff to demonstrate how to fit the specific chains that come with your car.

We arrived at the airport and quickly found one of thenohones to call up Omega for a shuttle bus. They were very quick to arrive and collext us and the staff at the office could not have got us through pick up any quicker. They offered us an upgrade from a small car to a 4wd for the same rental $ as it needed to go to Christchurch our final destination. We readily agreed and after a quick check of the vehicle we were off. The car was great and no problem to drive. On arrival in Christchurch we found the office and handed over the keys. The car (Nissan) was great as it was an imported car, Omega were able to give a really good deal. I also loved the fact that I did not need to wash the car upon returning, because there are only few places in Queenstown to do it.

Overall, our experience was good as the company had a reasonable rate for the rental, and was available at the last minute at Queenstown airport. However, they gave us a car with only 75% fuel filled (felt a bit strange as I'm not used to seeing anything below full tank). Also, the person who dropped us back at the Queenstown airport, once we return the car, didn't even show the courtesy of saying hi or getting out of his driver's seat while we were loading and unloading our luggage at the back of the shuttle. We hired a car for the ten days we spent in Queenstown and have no reservations whatsoever about recommending Omega to anyone. The staff were courteous and helpful, the pick up and drop off was speedy, the vehicle ran like a dream. Would definitely use them again!

Hired a Mazda Premacy for a month for 4 Aussie blokes with full packs for tramping, and we were amazed at the amount of room we had in such a small and economic vehicle. It also had quite adequate power and handled well. We thought this and the rate were good value, and also found the hire experience and dealing with the staff excellent and hassle-free. So can highly recommend this company, and hope you keep up the good service.

Hired a budget car for 8 days from Christchurch to Queenstown. The car provided was fairly old but reliable and gave good mileage (I got 18km/litre on mostly highway driving)- I had no issues with it. What I really liked about Omega Rental Cars was there were no hidden charges and the comparatively lower CDW option. Would definitely consider renting from them if I am ever in NZ again.

I rented a Toyota Vitz in August 2018 for 11 days. Pros: Transportation to and from the airport was fast and easy. The car was ready for me when I arrived. One of the staff members gave me a demonstration of how to put snow chains on my car since I didn't quite understand the video. No extra fee for one way rental for long rental period. Nearly the same price for automatic vs manual, which was great. Inexpensive car rentals, which is great on a budget! Cons: The cost of the insurance package definitely adds up and has a number of exclusions. Unless you're driving in the snowy winter, I don't think it is worth it to get beyond the basic package that is included. The Toyota Vitz itself left something to be desired. Even though it was a model between 2007-2012, it felt older without cruise control, no USB or AUX port, and general wear. The car was all in Japanese (including radio controls), which is not advertised, so it took a while to figure out the radio. I also had some issues with the battery (it made it to the end of the trip, but just barely).

Great service- quick, efficient, no hassles with 'extra' insurance when you get to the depot, like you have in some other rental car companies, where, on top of the Insurance you paid online, they try to take another "insurance" off you. They were great. I will use them every time I go to Queenstown now.

used them twice and would go back again. minor point - need to get a complimentary ride to to the car pick up and drop off (about 2 mins) - but they arrive really quickly and as such, is not any more inconvenient then walking outside to get the cars from many other dealerships at the airport. Our car was immaculate and in perfect working order (newish Forrester). Easy paperwork at pickup and dropoff. Cant see why you wold pay more from other more well known hire car places

We hired a Toyota Corolla for 4 days from the Queenstown branch. Drove very well and no problems with car. Had full insurance so was covered with no excess if any accident were to happen. Team were great at Queenstown, easy pick up and drop off of vehicle.

Rented a car for about a week in late December. Got picked up from the airport by a nice English lass who took us through all the paperwork - no hidden surprises. The car itself was nothing special - an old Toyota with its fair share of dings - but it had air conditioning and reliably got us everywhere we wanted to go - including over the hill to Wanaka. They dropped us back to the airport after we dropped it back to them. All in all, I'd recommend them.

Easy, convenient and very friendly service. We had pre booked online and we were picked up from Queenstown airport within minutes of calling Omega. The car was ready and the paperwork efficiently completed. We were happy with the car and after a week in Wanaka drop off was just as easy, we were driven right to the departures drop off at Queenstown airport by a friendly young lady in the car we had hired which saved having to move our bags to the shuttle vehicle. Would use Omega again.

Had a mixed experience going with them. Upon getting the car we found out the even when paying for full insurance your tyres aren’t covered, which you’d think full insurance would cover everything. We couldn’t get snow chains on the day we picked up the car (which was fair enough because we didn’t book them), but later when we tried to ring to see if we could get some, we tried a few times and always got put through to the Auckland office and to people who couldn’t really give us answers as we were calling about Queenstown and just told us to drive in to see them (but that’s the reason why we called, to save us driving back in to find out there were still none available). But saying that upon dropping off the car, one of the ladies was great and moved Things around so we could extend our rental out a few more hours, even though we had booked to drop it off that morning. Probably will use another company next time.

Overall a very good experience from the booking process, being collected at the airport, picking up the vehicle and returning back to their Queenstown office. Staff was efficient and friendly. In particular I would like to thank the person on duty when we returned our vehicle. Our daughter forgot her wallet in the front cubby hole when we returned our rental vehicle and only realised it when we were getting ready to check in our luggage at the airport. I called them and they dropped this off in super quick time. Thanks again. The rental vehicle was a it older than expected, but work welll our group of 7 people.

Omega were easy to deal with online and well priced for the 4WD vehicle I was given. Pick up from the airport was quick and Subaru Forrester was clean and ready to go from the Omega site(5mins from airport). The 4WD was excellent for the drive over to Wanaka and up Cardrona ski field. Would definitely use Omega again.

They were very easy to work with. No surprises and the car(s) I rented were perfect for what I needed! I even booked a car weeks in advance and was able to pick an exact model and it was ready for me the day I picked it up. Their prices are competitive and there were no drawbacks that I could notice due to their low prices. In the USA, "usually you get what you pay for" for car rentals, but Omega has exceeded my expectations. I rented a Nissan Tiida in Auckland for a day (the budget rental). While it was no luxury car, it got us from point A to point B and was very economical on gas. My hotel gave me a voucher for a free GPS rental. In Picton, I rented a Toyota Corolla hatchback 6-speed and drove it to Queenstown. The car was waiting for me when I picked it up, and the fact that I chose a manual transmission became crucial when driving on New Zealand's tight mountain passes. Automatic transmissions just can't handle the inclines and turns like you can with a manual. I must to say I've never been happier to drive a Corolla. it was peppy while still being great on gas. Unfortunately they don't offer this hatchback model in the US! The optional GPS rental is a must if you are not familiar with the country like I was. I'd recommend Omega to anyone based on my experience.
