L.Omega had great communication contacting us on day prior to pick up. Pick location was right next to our hotel so very convenient. Drop off at depot by the airport was very quick and easy. Their cheap prices led us to hire a bigger car so very relaxing to drive. Would use again!
l.Overall a brilliant experience. The price was one of the lowest I could find but this did not mean I would have a bad experience. The car was clean and modern, pick up was after hours but effertless and drop off was even better as staff were very friendly and even provided a shuttle to the airport. Will definitely be using them again.

J.My rental car experience was great from pick up to drop off, with staff being friendly and helpful and the price, including insurance, was very reasonable. I would use them again definitely. Mazda demio had no problems on the hills and was very economical. $50 petrol for 5 days travel Queenstown to Wanaka, Cromwell and back to Qt again.
E.Easy and stress-free to deal with. My only gripe was the one central call centre contact number listed... instead of numbers for individual branches to contact them directly. This made contacting the branch we were hiring the car from, a little frustrating. We loved our holiday and the car was in great condition and comfortable to drive.
J.The three of us hired a small Toyota Vitz from Omega Rental Cars at a very reasonable rate compared with International rental companies.The staff were great, wuick and easy to deal with both at pickup and drop off in Queenstown and Queenstown airport respectively. The Toyota Vitz went like a dream for the whole two weeks we had it around the bottom of the South Island. Omega allowed us to have a second driver free and so we shared the driving which was great! I had times driving and sitting in the back or front seats and all were comfortable. I would highly recommend Omega rental cars to anyone!
U.The car I got was in good condition. Good mileage. Pick up and drop off was easy. The only problem was that the car didn't have a current rego sticker. The rego was renewed but apparently they didn't have time to pick up the sticker. They told me that not displaying the correct sticker isn't a problem but I'm pretty sure you can get fined for it.
I think it is a good idea to get full insurance when you are renting a car. That way you won't run into all kinds of problems.

p.Rarely do I review a company, but I feel compelled to in this case. Omega is the best car rental company I have ever done business with in my over 50 years of car rental experience. Every aspect of my interaction with them was professional and fair, and the rental met my expectations in every way. I only wish we had a car rental company as competent in the United States.
N.We recently rented a vehicle from Omega in Queenstown, NZ. The young lady at pickup was very friendly and there was no fuss, while the drop off in Christchurch was quick and efficient. The Toyota Corolla we booked was not the newest vehicle on the road but drove very well and was well maintained. Most importantly, we appreciated the great value that Omega provided when compared with the opposition. I would definitely use Omega again. Highly recommended.

The service correspondent in Auckland was an intimidating lady who never smiled and spoke in a very bad manner. Very bad experience as a customer.
The car was excellent here but prices were high. . Did not like the fact that they do not let you pay by cash -charged a surcharge on the card. I was not informed before hand about this and we were tourists and had changed the currencies It was a double loss.
Sorry Omega rentals. We like your cars but the customer service needs to improve a bit. It was much better last year.

E.The contact in Queenstown was really friendly and efficient and we had a car within an hour of making a very last minute enquiry. The car was tidy and reasonably priced. The shuttle to the airport when we dropped off the car was also very efficient and friendly.
V.Found the an amazing deal (by renting in a southern location and returning car in a northern location) on an older model rental and it performed great, no problems. Communication was always quickly replied to and staff always pleasant and accommodating. And when the Covid lockdown suddenly occurred and we weren't going to be able to get the rental back to the agreed upon place, Omega allowed us to return it to any of their locations. The national lockdown didn't allow driving, except to the supermarket, and Omega reduced our rental rate to a very nominal fee...without us even asking for a reduction. It would have been very difficult (and expensive) to find transportation during the lockdown to an airport once flights back to our country were finally available, so we were really thankful to have the car. Really glad I went with a New Zealand owned and operated company and truly appreciated their consideration and Kiwi kindness in these unprecedented times and situation.
T.Rented from Omega in Queenstown. Great value and great service. I was looking for an insurance-included package deal and was willing to have a "used Japanese import" rather than a brand new car. In fact our Toyota hatchback had only 50K on the clock and looked like new. A real bargain!

A.Chose this company from all the good reviews I read. From the pick up until drop off, everything was fast but the staff made sure you are provided all information you need. We rented from Queenstown and the service was top notch. We rented a small toyota corolla from online and got the exact same car. Didn’t have any problems driving around the south island. The drop off at the Man street parking was very easy as well.

h.Superb car rental company! Used for the first time (used Avis and Hertz in the past) and can highly recommend. The check in and check out were simple , the staff excellent at both ends. The car was was fantastic. The price was very good considering the service and quality of car. Cannot fault the company. And on returning the car to Christchurch airport the return location was literally minutes away from te airport and the shuttle to the airport frequent and caused no delay .

S.quite good & smooth experience in getting the car but returning part is something need to be improved as due to the working time difference for winter and summer season. I collected car at Queenstown branch & returning at Auckland airport. I nearly unable to return the car properly due to Auckland depot only work until 530pm in Sept due to Sept falls in Winter season with shorter working hour (even though website & agreement said 630pm which is referring to summer season starts from 1 Oct)
T.Good value but you get what you pay for. I just needed a car to get around Queenstown and nearby towns, as well as a trip to the glaciers on the west coast. So it was an older Nissan with over 130000 km but perfectly functional. The service for both in town pickup and airport drop off were good. My only complaint is the very scummy practice of not giving a full tank so it is hard to replace petrol: either not enough and they charge you or too much and they benefit from the extra petrol. Very bad practice but not unique to Omega.
J.Outstanding service, I was really happy with our rental in Queenstown recently. Once we arrived there was a wait of less than 10 minutes for the shuttle. Once arriving at the office, our consultant was really fast and efficient at getting us on the road. The car was really clean and had no issues at all. The snow chains worked well when we were driving in snow from the Remarkables. When we returned the vehicle I had allowed extra time but the consultant was so quick and efficient, the shuttle had us to the airport early! The only thing I would do differently is not pay the additional insurance. I thought Omega was going to pre-authorise the excess but they don't so my travel insurance would have covered it. I will know for next time but I would still definitely recommend and use again.

Paula at the Shotover street office was lovely and friendly and even suggested places to park the car overnight. The car itself was clean, hugely economical and easy to drive...

Vehicle was comfortable & serviceable, rental rate reflected the bodywork deterioration. Vehicle proved reliable, economical and adequate for our excursions, all the way to Auckland.
A.We hired a vehicle this week to get us around Queenstown and beyond and it was great. The hire was easy online and the pick-up was straight forward. As Queenstown is traffic heavy all the time we went across the road and up a few flights of stairs to get to our vehicle initially. I would advise if you have suitcases to have your travelling partner/s to meet you on the ground level around the corner to transfer the suitcases rather than lug them up the stairs.
The vehicle was perfect for what we needed and it was clean and easy to return out near the airport. Al the staff were friendly and efficient, we would definitely hire through Omega Rental Cars again - thanks everyone!

M.We hired a used Toyota Camry which was roomy and comfortable. It was reliable and very good value for money. The staff were helpful and efficient. There was no fee to start in Queenstown and finish in Auckland. I would definitely recommend this hire company.
E.Picked up a car here for our trip on south island. The toyota coralla had about 100000 km on the clock but it was in a good state and drove fine. The checking in and paperwaork was fast and efficuent and in the office all necessary brochures of our trip were available for free.

S.As far as car rental companies go i was very happy with how everything went, obviously being forced to pay the $0 excess insurance from previous car rental experiences (not with omega) means there shouldnt be a problem. I had a fair wait to get my car as the pickup location was different to the office and they had quite a few customers at the time
G.Efficient and friendly check out and a great, fuel efficient car which we drove up the Crown Range Road, through the Haast Pass, up the West Coast Highway all the way to Nelson and eventually Picton. We returned the car at the Ferry Terminal where we also received efficient and friendly service. We will be using Omega again on the North Island and will recommend Omega to other travellers.
P.We had the best service from Omega rentals from the time we picked up the rental on the 14th October in the Queenstown city center to when we returned it at the airport on the 18th October.
The woman who greeted us was the same woman who checked us back in at the end and I have to say she was so helpful and pleasant it was a pleasure to be assisted by her. Unfortunately I cannot recall her name but her friendliness remains clear in my mind.
Starting the holiday with such a great impression set the tone for the rest of the trip.

Z.Last June I booked a car online and to be pick up in Queenstown city ,but when I arrived there last month around 3ish the office was closed then I contacted them thru phone and they said to me that they move to a new address a month ago! I spent a lot to pay for the taxi because it was difficult to locate their new office. In the end, they upgraded my car with the same price which was really good.
G.A pretty straightforward experience with Omega. Easy pickup and return from their Queenstown office and nearby multi-level car park. Car was well-loved externally, but this did mean we didn’t have to worry about every scratch, nick or dent when returning.
A.Pick up from Queenstown efficient though not in the most convenient spot being the middle of the Main Street. Drop off point in Picton was first class as it is right next to the inter island ferry terminal. The car had some issues that got fixed within 24 hrs no hassles at all with omega rentals thankfully. Great prices, and reasonable car.
R.We were so happy to find Omega! Got a rental at a fraction of the price of the major companies. While the car wasn't new, it was in fine working order, and we were able to pick it up in town and return it at the airport on our way out of the country with no upcharge.
E.We rented a Toyota Corolla from the Auckland city centre branch. The car was clean and ready to go when we arrived. The staff were very helpful and walked us through the damage assessment on the car (i.e. scratches). There were also some handy AA travel guides in the office.
We returned the car to the Wellington Ferry terminal branch. Again the staff were really friendly and kindly dropped us and our luggage off at the ferry terminal.
The car was great to drive and we had no problems.
B.Rented a Toyota Previa people mover late January for 10 days picking up in Auckland and dropping off in Wellington. None of the major rental car companies would allow return of similar vehicle except from where you pick it up from. Hence, went with Omega. I must say we were pleasantly surprised at the service and the actual vehicle. Well presented, straightforward rental process, not to mention the significantly lower price compared to the first-tier rental car companies. From now on, Omega Rental Cars would be top of the list !!
L.Awesome experience hiring a car from Omega. Cheap, easy, pleasant staff. It was great having the kids car seat in the pick up van to make things easier. The only room for improvement I can see is at the booking stage. The website kept crashing, and when I rung to get the web deal I had been in the middle of booking the woman told me that there was no way they would be doing that deal as it was too cheap. I just waited for the website to work again before booking, but that lady could do with a reminder that the "customer is always right." Would happily use again anyway, thanks.
j.The car was old but worked very well indeed. Except for the radio, but even if it had of worked, the radio reception probably wouldn't have.
But I did have a couple of problems with the car 1 was that inside the car it smelled like a stale ashtray, but you got used to that. The other, which should not have happened, was that the rear tyre instead of being 210 was only about 100. Obviously I pumped it up, and it stayed inflated.

R.This is my second time to rent a car from omega. This time we pick up at Queenstown city. The staff in the shop is so new nice and professional!!!! I must give my big sincerely thanks to him!! Otherwise omega upgraded an perfect car for our long trip from Queenstown to Auckland.
R.Omega was less than half the price of others. The car was a 10 year old Nissan that ran very well, everything worked as it should. The car was picked up in town and returned to the airport. I would use Omega again without hesitation.

Most importantly, considered safety of the customers - traveled with my 14yrs old daughter & niece only. Provided monetary convenience wise for the customer as Shotover staff even suggested to drop off car before 5:30pm in order to save $36 storage fee.
Rented premium SUV for 4 days. Allocated us 2015 Subaru Forester AWD with a little over 87T mileage.
The car never failed us from the charming Queenstown, steep alphine terrain of Cardrona Alpine Resort further to the mountain & tussok grassland of Lindis Pass, cruising spectacular scenery of Mount Cook, prestine water of Lake Tekapo right to re-building Christchurch.
Certainly, Omega is my go to car rentals.

G.They picked us up at the airport and shuttled us to the rental center. We discovered a squeaky fan belt, and they replaced the car for us, no fuss. We were in NZ for one month and saved about $1000 vs. Hertz or Avis. Our first car had 100,000km; second car had 30,000. Except for belt issue, both car worked fine.

J.The car itself was great for what we paid however the booking and collection was disappointing as the response to a few emails with questions did not happen until after the car was collected. My parents ended up at the ferry terminal in wellington where we were instructed to collect the car according to the paperwork, however the car was at the head office address so they had to get a taxi. I also wanted to pay in advance for the car which is normally charged to the driver, but even this took a few emails and calls to arrange..

C.We had 2 separate hire cars (Mazda Demios) with Omega, in North and South Islands. The first, from Auckland to Wellington, was great and drove well. The second was newer but oddly not as comfortable and had an odd revving thing happening after changing gear. It wasn't anywhere as near as nice to drive. However, Omega generally were great to hire from. We really appreciated the lift from the chap at the Wellington Ferry depot from the depot to the central area. It was also helpful to 'check in' the day before arriving at Picton to collect the second car, therefore finding the car waiting for us in the car park rather than queueing with everyone disembarking the ferry. A suggestion for improvement would be to include a parcel shelf in in the boot of the Mazda Demio models as the boot allows luggage to be fully on show.
A.Quick check in and car pick up, friendly staff. The car was parked in one of their designated spaces in Mann street car park, which is right across from the office (though up quite a few stairs, I got a lift round as one of the other cars was needing dropped off into its allocated space). The office is right in the centre of town and a couple of doors down from Fergburger, if you're fancying a tasty burger before you pick up your car! I would hire a car with them again.

V.Although it took awhile for the receptionist to serve us, causing delays n our itinerary, it was a great car rental company. the terms and conditions agreed were clearly emphasised before driving the car.

Only slight downfall was the need to call the office to return the car to the undercover car park, as we didn't have a NZ sim card.

Tout s'est très bien passé avec cette compagnie, depuis le pick-up à Queenstown jusqu'au retour du véhicule à Picton. Le jour de la récupération de la voiture, il n'y avait que 7 barres sur la jauge d'essence et la personne l'a bien noté sur le contrat afin que je la rende avec exactement le même niveau. Les équipements de la voiture n'était pas parfaits mais pour le prix économique à laquelle je l'ai louée, cela était très bien ! J'aurai aimé qu'on me précise avant que le menu de l'écran de contrôle n'était qu'en japonais...! ^^
La personne qui a récupéré la voiture à Picton m'a même proposé de m'emmener à mon hébergement pour m'éviter de marcher.
Très bonne expérience donc avec cette compagnie et je repasserai certainement par eux pour une prochaine location !
P.S : ce sont vraiment les moins chers du marché en Nouvelle Zélande !
