Hired a hatch back over the weekend. From the booking process, to picking up the vehicle was straight forward. We were processed quickly, so from start to finish it went very well. Would highly recommend!

We hired a car from this company and the service was great as well as the quality of the car. We chose the 4WD option as it would let us go deeper into the island, to places like man o war winery and poderi crisci. Beautiful and new car. Very happy with it, will definitely book again! Thank you.

Went over to treat a customer that lives on the island and chose the VIP option for the day, and I can guarantee that it really means VIP, was given a Jeep Cherokee that was beautiful inside and out. Good service and good prices.

The reason as to why Waiheke Rental Cars are receiving 5 Stars from me is because of the customer service that both the operations manager and another employee showed during a time of distress. My car was sliding down a steep bank at Matiatia in the unsealed carpark. And I was anxious and had no one to turn too for help. But the employees that helped remained professional and virtue towards the cause, and for that I am very thankful for. Time and effort that these employees put into solving my problem that day in the wet conditions will not be forgotten. From bringing a car to help tow. To special equipment to assist in the process. For this I must acknowledge and praise these gentlemen that work for Waiheke Rental Cars for the virtues that were shown that day. Thank you again! And you definitely deserve the 5 Star Rating from me.

Friendly staff, well organized and the vehicle was to be expected for the price. Definitely appreciate a Toyota Voxy vehicle on a whole new level! Did the job well for 8 people around the island for 3 days and saved many expensive taxi trips.

I live on the island and needed a car for the week as mine had some mechanical issues. This company was promptly available to help, best prices and quality cars on the island. From a local, definitely recommend.

Best experience ever. Car was cleaned and working perfectly. The business is family owned, great service, no issues or dramas and they even took us back to the hotel that we were staying, after returning the car. And they’re super friendly, great job

Very friendly and professional. The whole rental experience with them was pleasant and smooth. The car may not be the best but we didn't really mind it as long as it got us to where we want to go. They are willing to do the extra mile as well. We accidentally left a scarf behind in the car and so they attempted to contact us through our mobile, but since we were from Sydney, we didn't get the missed call until we returned back to Sydney. At first, we thought they would've discarded it but when we contacted them back, they still had it with them and they were happy to post it back from Auckland to Sydney. We were very grateful for that (even though it was just a scarf). Thanks guys!

I hired a car for work purposes to get our team of builders to and from ferry daily. To be honest these are the nicest, most helpful and accommodating folk you might meet on the island. Would recommend to anyone for any type of vehicle. Sure the cars are not brand new but they are clean, well serviced and I found them to be entirely reliable. 5 Stars ( you will not get that from me for the big name rentals - we rent vehicles frequently ).

Highly recommended! I made a mistake on my reservation date (on the first weekend of school holidays!) and they have gone above and beyond to sort out a car for us and pick us up from the wharf. Friendly, helpful, fantastic service as well as good value. I can’t recommend more highly!

I had a great experience with this company today. I was met at the ferry on time; they even called to check that I was on the ferry, I suppose in case I had missed it so they could adjust their pick-ups. They were professional, courteous and really, just wonderful. I even got a tip on where to get the best fish pie on the island. Pretty sure they were right about that, too. :) Will definitely use them the next time I'm on Waiheke.

The vehicle was good with competitive pricing. Experience was all good until I found out my credit card had incurred extra charges and it all went south. Got in touch with the receptionist and sent through gas receipt on the day as proof. Contacted them numerous times thereafter to follow up. 2 month later, I'm still waiting for them to get back to me with a refund. Thanks, got the refund yesterday - 04/03/2020

Great customer service. I travel to waiheke often for work and always receive great service from all employees. They are always willing to work with me if I need to amend my booking . I wish all car rental companies made it as easy as waiheke car rentals!

Booked 8 seater from here. It is very spacious and large. We all fit well and comfortably in this vehicle. Definitely recommend this vehicle for a group of people travelling together. The vehicle was very clean and tidy also. 5 stars.

Just got back home this weekend from Waiheke island. We booked a 4x4 for the couple of days. Before we got the ferry from the city we received an email with all the information regarding collecting the car, as well as a text message asking what time we were arriving off the boat. The lady at the kiosk had everything ready and was really helpful & lovely. The car was modern and clean. The island has amazing views and we stopped off at few vineyards for wine tasting and food. Definitely will be back ☺️

Lovely lovely staff & service!! After being let down from a different company we walked into this shop the lovely staff helped with everything we asked, when our ebike had a problem with the brakes the guy came out 9pm Saturday night to fix them with no problems!! Highly recommend!!!

The employee Hamish is the reason I'm leaving for this review. He was brilliant. Usually takes an hour for us to put in a car seat for our daughter but he went out of his way to assist us. Excellent service

Very impressed with the service - car arrived at our accommodation 20 minutes after we first rang. Clean, tidy car, reasonably priced. Easy to communicate with and the car return process was smooth too.

communication was easy, staff was cool. but car was not clean as expected, and picture displayed on the website seems a latest model however in real life its a pretty old model. probably wont go rent next time

Absolutely brilliant company and people to deal with. We booked the day before with family from overseas on board. Car worked perfectly, aircon excellent, communication great - all at short notice. We rushed back to get 9pm ferry and I didn’t read the last instructions of leaving petrol receipt and parking ticket in the car. They handled my errors perfectly with grace and humor. We totally recommend their service and their staff were amazing. Many thanks

Excellent, picked us up at Kennedy Point within ten minutes, had the car I asked for, and at fairly short notice, reasonably priced, not the flashest newest car but hey its Waiheke and it was exactly what we needed, communication was prompt and service was great

Absolutely flawless experience from online booking to pick up and drop off . Vehicle was great and gave us a perfect day on the island no problems. My top remark goes to communication - txt messages prior to arrival on island, phone call at docking, clear instructions for use etc and a friendly team ( Thankyou ladies! ) and a way better deal than bringing your own car over too 👍

I hired a car from Waiheke Auto Rentals a couple of weeks ago, and the service was amazing simple. I pre booked the car, signed the paper work when I got to the wharf. I was then told that my car would be ready, and that it would be pre-checked with my name on the dashboard. The car was tidy, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you to all the staff, but a special thank you to Mariano for his great service.

Getting around Waiheke island in autumn may not be as easy as it is in summers...I recommend car...they give u a manual and automatic car rental option... affordable price...friendly staff

Fantasic service!! We called at 930am on a monday morning to hire a car (we saw the fun little convertible online and just had to hire it!) And by 10am the boys had driven it to us, dropped off the car and we were on our way! Such great service and the guys were fun, energetic and very fast. We then extended our hire for an extra 2 days. We come back to the island each year and we will use these guys everytime 👌 thanks for everything

The car we rented was not up for driving on the dirt road tracks and steering was very unsafe. We were also told to re fill is the beside Kennedy’ point which it wasn’t and cost ya two trips.

The online booking worked well and was confirmed a few hours afterward. However, the collection of the car on the next day had some troubles. Nobody showed up on time, and the car was actually at the wrong place for the pickup. Everything else went well. The Daihatsu Sirion we rented had several dents and scratches but was driving fine. It was a great way to explore the island and stop at any place we liked.

Easy communication and good car, great service

We hired scooters with these guys to begin with! Ended up with a car!... best decision we made was to listen to the guy about hiring a vehicle instead! (I believe his name was Nacho.) Waiheke is definitely better explored by car. They picked us up from the Kennedy Point Ferry Terminal, with easy instructions being sent out saying what to do/look for once arrived off the boat. The rental pick up was easy and straight forward, with the drop off instructions being easy as well. (Returning at Kennedy Point at our convenience and catching ferry back) renting a car from Waiheke Island Motors made our trip to Waiheke even better than expected. Thanks again Nacho and Julian :~)

The experience was somewhat in line with a "Waiheke vehicle". City slickers shouldn't expect the normal rental experience with this company. The car wasn't exactly spick and span - and not in great condition, I thought the weirdest part of the whole experience was that YOU had to pay for parking when returning the car to the carpark... to be fair only $3. Compared to other reviews, our experience wasn't that bad! The car wasn't ready for me to pick up on the day even though I was late due to the ferry and I had to wait for it to be ready, but luckily I didn't have anywhere to be. Next time I would consider paying more to go with another company with better vehicles and my complaints are only superficial.
