Best move we made using the services of Handy Rentals in Wellington. Thanks to the awesome, friendly guys from the moment we arrived to pick up the truck and return it later same day. Nothing was a problem, very professional and patient especially when I thought I had broken the lifter and rang the office in a panic. Got me back on track with their impromptu over the phone guidance. Would definitely recommend this company to get you moving without hesitation.

Needed a medium truck for the moving of gear from a commercial kitchen. Handy Rentals mid size truck was absolute just the right size. Easy to drive with enough grunt to get up Wellington's hills and trot along the motorway at 90-100km even with a good load on. Great friendly communication from first phone call to leaving with the truck, including clear instructions about returning the truck and keys. No surprises charging wise. Would absolutely rent again when the need arises.

Could not have been better. The hire process was quick and easy, with appropriate COVID restrictions. The truck was fantastic; both modern and in great condition. The briefing was comprehensive from the staff member who was friendly and helpful. And the bond was returned less than 48 hours after I returned the truck. Overall great and easy experience. Staff were excellent and quite pleasant to deal with. I would definitely recommend friends and anyone here. However I find that your premiums for insurance are expensive, and I find it quite odd that we hire a car/van that does not include kilometers (as you charge an entry fee of $20 to "use" it) I think that the price for the rental should include some milage. Keep up the good work!

Definitely choose the one with the tail lift if your moving big stuff or entire households, it makes everything easier. My most recent was the ute with the tip lift... a total game changer. Great service, honest dealings, no BS! Can't say the same about Hireace on Abel Smith St, I was given 3 different quotes with different amounts in a 4 minute conversation. The Asian Kiwi guy who answered the phone at Handy rentals was honest, direct and kept things simple for me. Definitely be going back. Don't go to Hireace!!!!

The truck from handy rentals served our purposes perfectly to move the furniture from Kāpiti back to Wellington. So great to be able to use a truck of that size with only a normal car drivers license. The packing materials hireage was very worth getting, to keep our furniture safe during the move.

Fifth time renting a moving van from Handy Rentals and I haven't been let down yet. The staff are always excellent on pickup and return - quick, efficient, thorough - and the vans are great. I took one of the moving packs this time that includes tie-down straps, blankets and a hand trolley. I didn't end up using the trolley but having the blankets and straps was a life saver and I'll always do that again. The bowl of Fruit Bursts on the counter is always appreciated at the end of a long weekend too - keep that up guys! TLDR? Rented a tail lift truck from the Wellington branch of Handy Rentals in Pickering Street. Truck was late model, easy to drive and and had a working reserve camera which I think all trucks should have as pretty big blind spot otherwise when parking. Staff were really helpful as had to change the rental day on them at pretty short notice as well as had a early pickup.I will be using these guys again and also in case you are wondering yes this is a legit feedback\review. Generally a positive experience. Only issue is with the on-line booking system. Pick up time has no guidance about opening times. I opted to pick up after work (4.30pm) but the office closes at 4. I was phoned to collect earlier. Would be good to show pick up time restrictions when booking. Also I paid for blankets and ties that weren't supplied.

Renting a box truck from Handy Rentals was such an easy process! The staff were friendly and extremely accommodating (let me park my motorcycle at the place overnight), showed me around the truck's functions and were understanding about my nerves re: driving a bigger vehicle. The add-on moving box (tie downs, blankets and dolly) were also a LIFESAVER. Absolutely would choose them first over any other rental service in Wellington, the whole service can't be beat. :)
