Reviews of Radix Nutrition
We took a whole suitcase of Radix with us recently to Patagonia. At the end of a long day hiking sitting down to these tasty meals was a treat. My favourites were the breakfasts as I prefer to start my day with a hot meal. Being a diabetic on insulin and hiking for days at a time lends itself to a whole other set of challenges where micromanaging food and carbohydrates is the norm. Radix performed exactly as it promised and I could go about my day without worrying. We left a few packets in El Chalten with another hiker who loved them.
Thanks so much team!
Used Radix performance meals on a recent trip over the Canning Stock Route one of the the longest and most Dangerous desert tracks in the world. 2000km of Desert Driving. Even after two weeks I was looking forward to the meals and the convenience and time saved will make Radix a permanent fixture on my expeditions. I researched quite a few different companies and Radix was my choice in regards to ingredient, nutritional values and not having anything artificial in the food.
Radix Nutrition has been amazing for me as a serious triathlete!. The nutrition they contain is excellent. The meals are perfect for travelling and on the go. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a nutritious meal!
From fueling hard days in the mountains to a quick nutritious meal at the office, following training, on the road or a quick breakfast before an early morning start. Radix meals are so versatile and take the thinking out of good quality nutrition in so many situations.
I used Radix meals while training for an expedition. The meals were so easy to prepare and we couldn't believe how tasty and simultaneously nutritious they were. My favourite one was the Mixed Berry breakfast.
I remember sitting near the summit of a volcano at 4800 meters with my best friend eating a delicious Radix meal for dinner after an intense day of altitude hiking. It was great because all we had to do was boil water and mix it into the Radix meal. Then we sat back, ate, and watched the sunset. 🏔️😍
I would recommend Radix meals to anyone who is into the outdoors. Whether it's a short hike or a long expedition. Radix meals are more than worth it! ❤️
Its impressive what Radix has done with freeze dried meals they truly have changed the game it what we all thought was possible. The meals are so good, you could serve them up at your dinner party and people would ask you for the recipe.
Started using them as the safe option when travelling & racing to be 100% in control of the food you are getting when you are in the back blocks in Asia or South America. The berry breakfast has now become my go to race morning nutrition.
Now use it all the time as a daily resource when you're time constrained just bang some water in and you know you're getting some good quality fuel. Saves the default to hitting up the bakery or takeaways which is always a bonus.
We absolutely loved our Radix nutrition meals. We came across the brand while researching the most nutritious and cost-effective dehydrated meal for our New Zealand thru-hike, and we have no regrets buying hundreds of meals at ones!! There are so many options, and they all have really distinct flavours that you can never ever get sick of them, with the system of rotation of meals that we had, it could take up to 2 weeks before we had the same meal again - but of course our favourites such as the Free Range Chicken Curry and the Asian Style Wild Alaskan Salmon made frequent appearances. It even exposed us to trying out venison, which we were surprised to like a lot! They had options that would keep you full and satisfied from breakfast through to dinner time. No doubt the minimalist but aesthetically pleasing to look at bag will catch the eyes of other hikers at your next campsite or hut, we had so many compliments and questions about what its like while on the trail! Every night we looked forward to the Radix meals as a treat!
We were super impressed at how seriously the team takes personal hygiene and keeping sterile areas absolutely sterile, and just the general cleanliness at their warehouse. The workers are passionate about the product and we felt very happy to trust them as our main source of nutritious meals during our thru-hike.
We have recommended this brand to many friends who have given us back feedback. It's great to support a local brand like Radix. We will be buying more in the future!
I took Radix Nutrition meals with me over to the US to hike the Pacific Crest Trail! Five months of walking, and your body really craves the nutrition that Radix meals could provide. The protein content, as well as the quality of the calories I was getting made me feel so much stronger. Some of the stretches of the trail, I would have to survive on ramen and pop tarts but whenever I got a box that I had shipped ahead with the Radix meals I was always stoked because I knew I'd be getting REAL food out on the trail. UL tip: I also ended up ditching my stove, and cold soaking the meals (even the salmon ones), which worked a treat! I would just let them soak for about 40 minutes while I hiked.
I have used Radix on my last 2 major expeditions, 70 days kayaking around Vancouver Island and 130 days across Australia’s deserts on a pushbike. I love the durability of the product and the fact that I don’t have to think about whether what I’m eating is nutritionally balanced or not. When I eat Radix I know it has everything I need to perform at my best, I have guaranteed energy and a faster recovery time! 100% best freeze dried products available.
My climbing partner and I were fortunate enough to have a bunch of Radix Expedition meals on our expedition to Mt Mckinley (Denali). We found the meals were very tasty and something we looked forward to after a hard day on the mountain.
Some positive critism:
-The meals do not have much salt (this is probably good because some people prefer little salt and others can add it).
-We found that the meals were not always filling. I would prefer them with 1000 calories and some more carbohydrates.
I look forward to using Radix for all my upcoming adventures and love that they use quality ingredients with the adventurer in mind. 👍 Keep it up Radix.
Finally, some quality and highly nutritious meals that actually taste delicious! We love Radix - we've found it's ideal for camping/tramping trips when weight is an issue (you just add water) and also for racing overseas. You know exactly what you're getting, it's light/easy to prepare and there're heaps of flavours to choose from to keep things interesting. Highly recommended to anyone hungry, travelling or health conscious!
Can't get enough of these meals! Light and nutritious - perfect for climbing. My favourite flavour so far has been the morrocan wild venison, very tasty 😊
I can absolutely recommend Radix meals. They are using nutrition dense natural ingredients and are delicious and their meals haven't got fillers and numbers in them like some other companies. My team and me raced recently in Asia and we usually crave food from home right after our events but with Radix meals this hasn't been the case. We love these meals for taste and health reasons
I raced a 3.5 day adventure race in the Andes in Ecuador with the Movistar Terra Adventura Team. We were stoked to tuck into some Radix meals along the way. The wellbeing meal range (plant based) were easy to take with us as they don’t need hot water and gave us a refreshing boost while trekking or riding. The berry breakfasts were a real winner to squash those early morning hunger pains and the expedition meals we used in transition because they are great calorie-dense, fresh and wholesome food when we crave a hot meal in transition! the salmon was the favourite here! Thanks radix you are awesome 👏
Just spent a day in the bush and for dinner I had a BBQ organic beef. Very tasty and filling. Certainly hit the spot. Can't wait for breeky.
Radix is perfect on the road. Love to bring some meals to university or also while doing outdoorsy stuff - cause all it needs is hot water to prepare the foods. it's affordable and a healthy alternative to prepping own food or going into expensive restaurants. I just love to refuel with Radix Nutrition. Since i am allergic to gluten, there's no better choice than the Radix meals. I highly recommend them! Go check them out and convince yourself!
This product is so great!! Whether you are an athlete or just a busy student, this is the perfect on-the-go or at home meal. Its instructions are so simple and easy to follow and the food tastes delicious. I can recommend both the lunch/dinner and the breakfast variety.
If you are worried about waste: don't be. Radix Nutrition uses minimal packaging and the package automatically becomes your bowl so there is less cleanup and therefore less water wasted on doing the dishes.
The best thing about it is that they are super healthy and yet very delicious and require barely any work or time to prepare. If I could, I would only live on these!
We took 5 Radix expedition meals. First time to try. They were all very tasty and had a good amount of protein. Yummy spiced and balanced flavours. The only suggestion I would like to make is to have some variation. Maybe a potato mash? All of them had the same base I feel.
Ordered 3 for a try - alaskan salmon, mexican chilli beef and wild venison. Really good (with a bit more salt for my tasting) but find it a bit blend. Not sure about others. Maybe a couple salt satchels will do for me. A "No subject" email with no greeting no content just a PDF receipt was a bit odd as it didn't look that friendly or professional. Compare to other premade meal packs I can see Radix meals more nutritionally complete. Well done guys export heaps overseas perhaps with more NZ iconic dishes
Im new to Radix, so was more than happy when i tried the breakfasts, looks like astronaut goop...but damn it tastes good, definitely two thumbs up.
The Radix Team was great! Annie and Mike took me around the factory and showed me how the meals are made! Awesome Experience! Very helpful and made me feel very welcome!
Amazing meals for on the go. Doesn’t matter if you’re at Uni or hiking up mountains. So easy to make and don’t take up a lot of room. Especially love the breakfast range. Plus everything is gluten free. Perfect for Coeliacs!
Great to see that they can cater for those with special dietary needs like plant based, AIP and FODMAP. Delicious and tastes better than I expected. I love the crunchy nuts and chewy banana pieces in the well-being mixed berry breakfast.
Pure and clean food!!! Easy to make even in the remotest area just have a boiling hot water and you are all set. Its has a good indication of the macronutrient in each food pack you eat.
Extremely satisfied with the Radix product. Recently completed the Milford Track and was the envy of my friends while consuming these for breakfast and dinner.
Big fan
