I.The Pacific Island Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand at 2 Edinburgh St, Newton, Auckland has a nice, friendly Pacific community. The church is relatively modern and has limited parking space underneath, so most of the parking has to be done in Edinburgh St, or nearby streets and car parks.
The history of the church may be tied in with the very cosmopolitan AGGS (Auckland Girls Grammar School) which is located nearby down Howe St. and has an approx 70% Pasifica representation on its roll.
Even if you're not a Christian, I'd recommend you attend a service in this church, just to savour the diversity of community spirit that prevails.
Highly recommended.
j.I love the approach they have taken during the Sunday services with a live band feel of praise and worship. The youth numbers seem to be declining as does the regular goers. This may have something to do with location as it's in Central Akl while the pods of P.I communities seem to be in the West Akl and South Akl areas these days.

Church my wife and I got married she passed away 3 years ago our 5children
babtized in this church, wonderful memories to look back and be thankful.
D.This church has history for the polynesian people in the 1960's .I attended here as a you ng boy.weddings and funerals conducted here.Sione's wedding nz film scenes were shot here also.good memories.And it still continues to be utilized today.
