c.Ok, just go see... Amazing architecture if you consider the time it too,,, the material used and now the look... Free to go in and covid safe.... The neighbourhood does not look like much... Still lot of empty lots for rebuild...
K.This is the temporary Cathedral Church for Anglicans in Canterbury. A post earthquake build while the main cathedral is being rebuilt. The transitional cathedral is made from shipping containers and cardboard tube covered with clear cladding. This makes it light and airy. As well as a place of worship it also has a gift shop and guides to offer tours.
M.Choral services here are particularly beautiful. The architecture is really interesting - a luminous, elevating semi-temporary building

J.A peaceful and traditional service with an exceptional boys choir. A good place to celebrate the last Sunday in Advent. Tourists can also visit any time to see this temporary cathedral, built after the 2011 earthquake damaged the original structure.
D.Stunning transitional building that has served as far more than just abplace of worship since the earthquakes. There are always friendly people on site whobare willing to talk and show u around. Thanks to everyone involved.
R.This place itself is very impressive... I'm so glad the city came up with this idea while the main cathedral is being restored. Everyone greeted me so kindly as I walked in too and it had a very nice atmosphere and spirit inside! A must visit while in Christchurch
G.A creative response following the earthquake damage to the main cathedral. This temporary structure has managed to create a suitable religious space in a completely novel way. It uses lightweight materials, such a cardboard tubing for the structural frames, and translucent sheeting for the cladding. The interior has managed to achieve the cathedral atmosphere and is a worthwhile experience.
C.Fascinating and interesting tour around this marvellous building that was constructed following the devastating earthquake that hit Christchurch. A story of the resilience and ingenuity of the locals as well as the tradegdy that befell the city. A must visit when in Christchurch.
