Such a beautiful church with such rich history . I love old churches and this is so awe inspiring.. I am humbled by the massive structure and the beautiful glass . With sunlight pouring in, its nothing but beauty . I hope no one will destroy it ever again. I bought as much things as I can afford . I know that’s nothing much but hope it will help in every little way to upkeep this place .

It's a beautiful piece of architecture in that real old Gothic finishes surrounded by a typical New Zealand type lush green lawns. It has a room at back of the church that has a lot of historical information and artifacts, if you don't know about it or are not the curios type that trys to discover every nook and cranny about a place then it can be easy to miss it. There is an alternate entrance from the outside

Pretty grounds and striking looks, but doors closed on us right at 4:30 so couldn't really look inside! Either way, park benches under tree shade and lovely grass all around means it'd be a great place to come relax and reflect. Notice the Psalms below at least one of the lamp posts too

One of the many churches in Dunedin and one of the few located near the Octagon. You should be able to find the church if you walk along the outer street of the Octagon, Moray Place. It's hard to miss since the top of the Church is full of spires. There is also a Heritage Museum on the premises. We only had time to get a few quick photos from the front but it did look like you could go inside to have a look around too.

The architecture is intriguing. N the glass paintings are still intact! They have gold particles in the paint to prevent fading. A chemist friend told me. I helped myself to the nasturtium growing in the lush gardens. I just love the peppery taste!

Remarkable, peaceful. Too bad we can’t go in while we are there due to restoration. A must visit destination if you are in Otago

The most impressive church in Dunedin. The rose window and the tapestry that was finished in 6 years are definitely worth seeing. (the tapestry's artistic design is very elaborate) Calm, peaceful environment.

Another beautiful church with history and beauty especially the stained glass windows. It's a real treasure. The architecture of the building is awesome. The exterior of the building is beautiful and the interior simply stunning. A beautiful mix of light and dark and fabulous stained glass windows.A wonderful old building. This church is in the city and in easy walking distance from the main square. The Altar was quite stunning so were the ceilings and woodwork. Worth a visit.

Gorgeous Church. Great place to sit and contemplate, gets lots of sunshine on the grounds during the day. Attracts a lot of tourists so you'll always have a lot of people taking photos out the front. During Spring and Summer the flowers out the front are absolutely stunning.

I was quite surprised to stumble upon this gorgeous building while walking around Dunedin. The church is absolutely stunning with it's many spires. I cannot speak to the inside, as a service was already in session when I arrived and I didn't want to walk in during the middle of it. If you are already having a walk around Dunedin, it's definitely worth a quick look.

Very beautiful church

The front is currently completely obscured by scaffolding as the church goes though some renovations. It is still open for business though and we were lucky enough to stumble into when a Maori service was in progress. Great to stop and listen to their singing. We returned later to take a look round inside. Big stained glass windows and a wooden ceiling. Interesting to find out the connection to Robert Burns....now you find out what it is too.

The building is regarded as the most impressive of New Zealand's nineteenth-century churches,[1] and is listed by Heritage New Zealand as a Category I structure. A stone church was built in 1850 which expanded and extended the original structure, doubling its capacity. This building not only served as a church, but, in the city's early days, was also a school, public lecture hall, and served as the Otago Provincial Council chambers.

Beautiful architecture and a must go for tourists who like taking photos. It is open to the public and is a peaceful sanctuary to go to when you just need to be alone.

All the other of Church of Otagos leave a lot to be desired. This one, not so much.
