L.I love wandering around this churchyard. Unfortunately, its closed now due to earthquake or something. I have a family plaque from the 1800's inside. The trees are beautiful, and so is the architecture. Very tranquil.
C.One of the historical places but it was close due to its conditions
C.If visiting New Plymouth...or if you live here..you should visit the cathedral. Although the actual Cathedral is closed for earthquake strengthening there is still much to see. The graveyard is full of people with some of the most interesting stories. The garden of remembrance is a beautiful and serene place to sit and contemplate. There is always a warm welcome at the welcome desk for information
K.I have the landscape plans of this place and the vicaridge dated 1967. Names all the trees and i think some graves. Pretty cool .
J.Hopeful place. Closed because of earthquake regulations and possible danger. You can not see inside but the lovely building and trees can be viewed. A path from Pukekura Park leads to the statues behind the Cathedral and the video shows how it has a table for lunchtime . It is within walking distance from the central business district.The building at the back is new.
P.I would recommend visiting no matter what or where you stand on religion, It is factually a very historical building that has been around since the Maori wars .Realisticaly from day one of New Plymouth history
n.What an interesting place. It transported me back to an error my great great grandparents once lived. A must see.
H.Lovely grounds with interesting old trees and a walk up the hill behind. Cathedral closed for strengthening repairs when we visited. Small friendly op shop across the road.
P.It's just one of the oldest awesomest buildings in New Zealand partner do get the money to earthquake it maybe the person who wins Lotto will donate a bit haha
M.An awesome place to visit a must do Tuesday mornings at around 8am
K.Biggest and oldest piece of newplymouth history. A must see for sure, the most stunning, mesmerizing old building still standing in newplymouth.
H.It's been standing for over a hundred Years.The beautiful Church is now closed and has to be upgraded to be safe from Earth Quakes. SAD FEELING!
C.Beautiful building, haven't been inside getting restored at moment.
I.Good friendly volunteer servers, proceeds go to charities and good opportunity to catch up with old friends.
B.Hope they soon will find the money needed for earthquake strengthening and open the building again
L.Beautiful old structure. Parked cars get in the way when taking photos though.
