Super friendly and helpful staff member and we managed to get my husband a great winter jacket. The company prides itself on producing garments made of great quality material and we feel like we've bought clothing that will last a lifetime

Very nice shop. Visited several times before purchasing my insulation jacket. Tommy each time was so helpful and he really knows his stuff. Hope his manager is reading this. I'll definitely be buying more gear from AE. 😃

Very impressed with this store. It is hard to find quality technical apparel that also looks great around town, but I finally found it! Store is well presented, staff are friendly and knowledgeable, but not pushy, and fact that it's a NZ brand is the icing on the cake. I absolutely love my Alechemy gear, and will definitely keep coming back.

Had a great chat with the staff about which clothes and bags I should pick up for my travels (shout out to Tommy). The actual product seems to be made to a high standard as it hasn't shown any sign of wear or tear yet despite being lugged around multiple countries and is warm and comfortable to wear. 100% would recommend.

Was looking for a nice warm coat and the friendly staff with the nice tattoos on his arm helped me. He's recommended things and helped with sizing. Definitely a must go!

While AE isn't a "fair trade" brand, a wide range of fabrics used in the tech wear type clothing are smart fabrics that reinforce sustainable practices (found in a lot of jackets).
For instance Pertex® Eco, is a lightweight, tear-resistant fabric made from 100% recycled polyester, derived from the likes of post-consumer recycled PET bottles or fabrics. Not only is the fabric sustainable, it’s also windproof, water repellent and breathable and durable. By utilising recycled yarns in the production of Pertex® Eco, the demand for raw materials is reduced. Pertex® Eco is a Bluesign approved fabric which also reduces the amount of potentially harmful chemicals used in the fabric making process.
There is a lack of information on ethical practices but it is good to support a local NZ brand. For this we rate AE as 4/5 in terms of its overall business and for its performance driven style. :)

Completely agree with the previous review. Smart fabrics, technical clothing and NZ made. Also love that friendly tattooed fellow

Cool store with some really cool stuff. The staff are really friendly and knowledgeable too. Only minus is their beanies don't have pompoms on them lol.
