Went in and found my dream shorts.
Lots of pockets and good fit but best bit
GOOD for the environment. As my last pair of shorts from Kathmandu lasted over 6 years. I expect these to do just as well.
I have put some natural dyed fabric next to them in the photo to show the colour. Both Blues come from plants .
The coconut shell button is atreat and sturdy.
These pants will eventually rot and dissolve.
Much better than plastic.

Staff nice in Nelson and helpful. Information on paper ticket re dye also appreciated.
Lots of nice merino garments as well but my last merino skirt is still going strong after 7 years. Recommend.

S.I arrived and the first things I saw were tents.. I ordered a pizza delivery and eat it in the tent along with some coca colas.. I accidentally spilled all my food and drink all over the tent, I folded the tent down and sat on it until they closed to cover up my mess, when asked to leave I refused and they saw the mess.. I was lead out of the shop by a jelly bean trail and then deposited in a wheelie bin by the manager, got a free beanie I Snagged from the thermal collection.. Bloody well worth it!
T.Large spacious and well stocked floor. Staff were proactive and helpful. Purchased an inflatable ground mat that was perfect for my needs, and the price was discounted as a member of the club.

H.Great shop! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff and they even suggested tramps for me and wrote them down. Most staff appear to be seasoned trampers etc which really helps the customers
S.They have a good range of gear here. Helpful staff and friendly too. Generally fairly clean. Unfortunately they didn't have any of the tops I liked which are also sun protective. Not particularly fashion conscious but really not stylish if you need that sort of shirt.
P.Great store right in the heart of Nelson. The sale on at the moment is quite good and fortunately didn't end like so many other sales on the weekend. Grabbed a few bargains today. The staff were friendly and helpful and they had my size in the items I wanted. The Kathmandu gear is usually pretty good so I'm pretty pleased.
S.Usual franchise standards. Clean store and well laid out products. Easy to find what one is looking for.
P.Purchased a hydration bladder. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Price, with sale discount and a rewards voucher was very good, but never buy from this chain unless the items you want are on sale.

A.Amazing staff. Helped every step of the way setting me up with the right pack and poles. Nothing but praise for my brand new gear being freshly tested in the Abel Tasman.

g.Fantastic place especially if you are into the great outdoors. Anything to do with tramping fishing in fact a beaut place to browse through good warm clothing here also tents and camping stuff too.

3 stars because a member of staff told us we could refund any item that we changed our minds on. It was only on reaching the Queenstown store that we realised we could only return for store credit.

Huge open wonderful shop ( a retail dream), always seem to have staff but never one at the til. Some girl was fussing over stuffing a sleeping bag back into its bag for a customer (will she do it for every trip or the lady will have to learn herself?). After a minute ot 2 we had to catch her attention 3m away that we wanted to pay. She made a call. No -one came, she still fussed over the woman with the bag. After watching needless faffing and not being served, we left the tent we were about to purchase on the counter and walked out.
Not good enough.
B.I had a really wonderful experience with one of the staff members. She was friendly, helpful, and has set me up with the club membership. I don’t remember the name, but she was from Sydney if that helps. :)
