Friendly staff with a smile. Always stop here whenever I road trip to Christchurch and back driving further south. This business offers dine in and takeaway. Good coffee, light lunches, cakes and sandwiches available. Covid rules apply, scan QR code, sanitise hands, and a vaccine pass is necessary. This cafe is situated just before going over the Ashburton river bridge heading north, a suburb known as Tinwald. Other businesses flank the cafe on either side, which are worth the time to look at. Recommend stopping as a stopover.

Great service. Fast and efficient. Food and drinks were lovely. Attached to a cute garden gift shop

The service was so friendly and eager to serve and the food was amazing ,i had the lamb salad ,every mouthful was sumptuous 😜✌💛

Nice food with plenty of choice. We were a group booking but jammed in too tightly. An extra table would have made a big difference. The staff were lovely and helpful. The shop is amazing a place that you could linger in for hours. Outside in the nursery there is a great selection of plants and garden nick nacks.

This Cafe has amazing food and great coffee. With the garden centre attached you can shop then stop for coffee or visa versa. What a great concept.

Great Farmers Breakfast. Great value, great serve. Definitely recommend.

A nice little cafe, all expected offerings including a good selection of Pastries and Savouries. Good coffee, nice feel to this place, part of a nursery so just has a good atmosphere. A great stopping place going north or south,and gets very busy at times tho staff still seem to cope pretty well. We enjoy this spot

I absolutely love Lushingtons, my Mum and I always stop here going South and again on the way back home. It's only and hour from Christchurch so we have also just gone there for a nice drive day out. The food is impeccable and we always find some great gifts for others and ourselves. The Garden centre is full of lush plants too.

Quick break here for morning tea. A great place to browse and maybe buy a nice gift for someone

Nice place to break a journey. The cafe counter is separate from the eating area which is nice as we didn't get the noise from the batista machine. Good menu but not so much cabinet food which was a shame. Plenty of cake/slices for those with a sweet tooth. Good coffee. The gift shop has a good range of goods too.

Lovely and clean, great food

Good coffee but very disappointing custard squares. They were rubbery and seemed past their best. We ordered two but ate less than a quarter of one . Unattentive service. Pleasant setting.

We visited the flower shop and it had so many Rose's and shrubs.. trees.. name it it was there. Staff were friendly and free to offer assistance. Lots of knick knacks and even a cafe within the shop. Wide selection, prices were great. Keen to go there again soon.

We went on a Sunday & needed help in the garden depo. They had no staff on with knowledge in the weekend. We then had some food at the cafe. Mine was nice, just a slice frm the cabinet but my partner had a cooked meal. He thought it was very sml 4 the price &left still feeling hungry. A nice cafe though but the meals need an improvement 4 the price.

A lovely spot for an autumn Sunday morning tea and browse of the shop and garden centre. A table in the front of the fire in the dining room was a nice and cosy spot. The coffee and walnut slice was delicious as was the choc and berry brownie. The shop also has a nice warm central fire. There is a huge range of interesting items on the shelves and in the outside areas.

Nice stop off between Timaru and Christchurch. Yummy potatoe wedges. Has outdoor space on a hot day.

Good gluten free selection and coffee. Restful tea room and you can look at the plants next door too.

Stopped for a meal, lovely food, staff very friendly and helpful, maybe need a little training. Shopping surprisingly fun nice bits and bobs at reasonable prices, good stop for tourists, honey and wool products cheaper than tourist shops.

Tried the strawberries and blueberries icecream and they are nice. Prefer more of the strawberry flavor. They mixed in fresh fruits with vanilla icecream, very refreshing! Nice shop to walk around as they also have planted plants.

What a place! Stopped in ashburton overnight at a motel, and needed a cofee and a bite to eat in the morning, we were out of luck and decided to wait untill timaru, as we couldn't find anywhere that was open and served what we wanted. On our way out of town we stumbled across this gem of a place, Lushington's cafe, we ordered coffes and they were done swiftly and tasted good, there was a wide range of cabinet food and even ice cream! Not only is it a cafe, but a garden centre too, while we waited for food we looked around, and found some very quality items at a good price. The cafe offers take away drinks and meals and has neat and clean toilets. I would totally recommend this for anyone passing through for a refreshing bite to eat.

Was disappointed in that we couldn't order sandwiches - menu or cake cabinet only and the menu consisted of meals etc - they do not make anything on request i.e. sandwiches etc - clean tidy and nice - staff who spoke to us could be a little more pleasant

Great place for lunch and coffee. Superb menu and excellent food. If you want to buy plants, they have wide selection of ornamentals and flowering plants to choose from. It's worth a visit!!!

Very very noisy...person on counter not friendly and abrupt. Limited gluten free and no savoury finger food..not even a toasted sandwich. Not every gf person wants a meL ancertainly not a sugar feast in the morning. Customer service rather poor though girl on the floor lovely

Huge range of plants, flowers, trees and shrubs. Also a good place to buy gifts, a good range of baby gifts, artificial flowers and household decorations. Staff are quick to help and knowledgeable when asked.

I waited for my friends to meet me there. Was not made to feel as tho I was taking 'paying' space, but welcome. Food lovely and service pleasant no big delay following ordering. Will be back.

We accidentally discovered this lovely cafe and had some ice cream over there. We loved the ice creams and the staff were so nice and friendly.

Food was OK for the price, seafood chowder was pretty good but the lamb curry was pretty boring. Fast and friendly service though which was nice. Also a nice atmosphere.

(Translated) A cool place in a Garden Center. A good place to stop between Christchurch and the road to the south. We had chicken tacos and were served very well. (Original) Un endroit sympa dans un Garden Centre. Un bon endroit pour s'arrêter entre Christchurch et la route vers le sud. On a pris des tacos au poulet et s étaient très bien servis.
