This is a great place for breakfast/brunch and I have loved every single meal I have ordered. The menu isn't overwhelming while still giving you plenty of options to choose from. I usually buy my coffee beans from here and have never been disappointed. They have a rotating single origin of the month, which is great to try out new varieties of coffee.

Went there yesterday and learned that they don’t do creamy mushroom anymore. The waitress confirmed this with the kitchen for us and said unfortunately there’s not enough ingredients :( Other than that, coffee was great and same as the service. Scone was warmed but on the dry side. Banana loaf was cold - had a bit of ‘been in the fridge’ taste but moist. A bit of contrast here. Would have been good if they were both warm/toasted and moist/fresh.

Had great service from Britney, she always serve with a smile and accommodate. Service with a smile, even from behind the mask. Shes got a glimmer in her eyes and is great with banter too. Would give 10 stars but google only allow 5! Great coffee too and appreciate the different choices of milk! Baristas clearly knows what they're doing.

Great experience here with the family. Kid friendly and plenty of room. I had the mince on toast and it was as kiwi as it can get. Service was real quick and the food was up to standard. Our waitress was welcoming and took care of us through out our brunch experience. Portions were more than expected and the prices on point.

Amazing coffee joint, voted best coffee in NZ for 2015-2016 and rightly so. The affogato was delicious and smooth. The lunch sandwiches were much more than we bargained for, flavourful and filling.

Popped in for coffee and cake (2 years back) My partner has always enjoyed going there and has been meaning to take me there for some time. My experience was good service, good coffee and good food. Even the butter was spreadable, often problematic at many other cafes. Been again today, nothings changed. Still five stars and worth the time to visit.

I went there with a friend because we had a discount coupon so why not. But honestly wow the food was delicious and so well presented. Quality restaurant, check the pics. You have to try the corn fritters and the panfried fish but I think everything is delicious. The turmeric latte a bonus. Great outside space had the big breakfast ($24) and bottomless coffee ($6). The coffee was pretty average but for $6, 2-3 cups will make your money worth. The big breakfast was abit on the pricey side but presentation was good, came with 2 large piece of bacon, sausages, fried mozerella sticks, poached eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, sour dough bread slices and homemade butter. Good coffee as one would expect from the owners of the brand :-) I had Coconut Porridge with banana, berry and passion fruit yoghurt. Creamy with a good contrast of flavours and a generous size. French Toast with Rhubarb and Apple with Mascarpone and Pistachio Crumble was a creative take on a cafe classic. On a Sunday parking on the street was easy. Busy but plenty of helpful staff ensure prompt service

Nice, but disappointing. Altura used to be my favourite cafe thanks to incredible coffee and crispy french fries. Unfortunately the coffee has gone downhill a bit, it's still nice but is a bit plain and wasn't quite hot enough (and I like my coffee colder than most). It's a personal preference but I'm gutted they've switched out the french fries for straight cut fries instead. Food was nice but serving size was tiny for the price, and lacked flavour or seasoning. Karaage was cooked perfectly but it had absolutely no flavour. The aoili had no garlic flavour at all. Service was lovely, they were clearly very busy yet still offered a smile and made you feel welcome. Overall I'd say it's a nice place to visit but we won't be back, for a long time at least. $71 for two coffees and two small meals is a bit much for me.

I've downgraded my rating of this place. I've been there 3 times lately, and its impossible to get even a smile out of the staff. Walk in and the staff look at you blankly and fail to acknowledge you. Its not that hard to smile and welcome customers. My wife and kids stood waiting for a table for 5 minutes as staff walked back and forth past them like they were invisible. Moving forward i'll get my coffee at a place where it feels like i am wanted.

A great coffee shop and eatery here on the North Shore. They are also the main coffee rosters for Altura Coffee. You can purchase coffee beans from them, they have a good variety of different blends as well as coffees from different country's. Top quality coffee, with a wide variety of eats and delicious food to enjoy. We had a Cuppachino to drink and something light to eat. Very friendly and helpful staff. There is lots of parking for your vehicles. Highly recommend for any future customers for top quality coffee and something to eat. Let us support our local businesses during these tough times, support local. We will definitely be back again.

We discovered Altura when we went to the Midwife close by for our first child and stopped for a coffee. Ever since we are regulars, our son is now 5 years old. Altura is one of our all time favorite places. The coffees are exceptional, the food is so delicious. They are always friendly no matter if we turn up with friends, at a lunch break with colleagues or just for a weekend breakfast with the kids. If you get lucky they are roasting coffee beans while you are there which fills the place with an irresistible scent. Don't forget to buy your coffee beans here.

Bit of an institution on the shore and justifiably so, been a few times and went away happy every time. Lovely sunny Saturday spring morning having a wonderful caesar salad, perfect balance of ingredients and everything fresh with a few extras I wasn't expecting like cherry tomatoes, I've had a few in my time and this would be the best, the coffee was rich and nutty, a 5 out of 5. Used to come here before the renovation and was always happy with coffee, cabinet food and their service. Not sure what happened after they reopened as I found the cabinet food selection poor and prices increased. What really dropped down is the service standards...some of the stuff were even unfriendly and didn't seem to enjoy their job anymore:( Hope you can sort it out soon!

The very best in coffee from a boutique coffee roastery. The cafe is a very pleasant and smart place to sample the best tasting coffee. I enjoyed attending the Coffee Appreciation Course. The instructor, Micah was great. It was informative and very well presented. Rather than a class room doze off lecture it was interactive and hands on. The best news is that one can order on-line for the freshest coffee to make at home. I intend taking more advanced courses with Altura.

Great vibe in here. I had the fish it was tasty and well presented but the taste felt like it was lack lustre the veggies were under done as well. For the coffee I had the nitro and an iced latte both were nice coffees and had a real dark taste to it. I prefer a lighter flavour so next time I'll try another as these guys have plenty of coffee choices on offer! I'll be back for another visit!

We were having a late lunch at about 1:45 pm. The food cabinet looked bare but there was plenty when one took the time to look. We ordered a coffee and found a table to await table service. The coffee was cool on arrival and had a bitter taste. Not bad but not what I was expecting from a premium coffee purveyor. The waiter who brought the coffee took our lunch order but forgot the Rocky Road slice to have with our coffee. Bugger. Lunch was a shared big breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, baked beans, hash brown and mushrooms with toast and butter. It came quickly and was hot and delicious. The professor complained to the young woman taking our money and she discounted one coffee. We were happy with that outcome but in retrospect we should have asked for the coffee to be done again as they have made good coffee on previous visits.

They have great coffee, but its damn hard to get one because it's so busy. Parking is scarce, staff are a little unfriendly - mostly because they are so flat out you tend to feel like a just another number they are processing. Food is good, but it feels like there is just this air of hostility and tension in the place. If none of that bothers you then no problem!

First time here, food was good coffee not too bad but had better. What wasn't very good was the service was not really welcomed by staff and they seemed disinterested in us so we had to call them over. Probably won't go backunless someone else is going there for something.

My favourite coffee roaster in Auckland. Love their single origin Mexican - it's now a staple in our household closely followed by their Altitude blend. Online ordering works well and beans usually delivered in a day or 2. Probably the most consistent roasted beans we have bought.

Went out to buy coffee this morning from one of the suppliers we buy coffee from and they couldn't really be bothered answering my simple questions. So I left and went to Altura who not only answered my questions but spent considerable time doing so. Well done Altura, thank you.
