Reviews of Ara-Tai Cafe

Tried their matcha green tea frappe and also their iced latte today. The iced latte tasted good at the beginning, but near the middle and end had some not so pleasant after taste. The frappe was just ok for me as well. Havent tried their cabinet food so might give this place a second chance next time.

One of the best cafes in my list till date. Amazing coffee with great views around. Prices are very genuine. Must go coffee place

Been here two times and have ordered the same thing twice now haha. My go to has been the hoki fish cakes and the summer drinks with little orbs in it. I always take away the seafood pot pie as it always hits the spot everytime. Good to have for a light meal later on in the evening for dinner. The French toast always looks so amazing everytime my family orders it, coffees are good even though I haven't tried it yet but others recommend. Pricing is reasonable. Just wish they had more of a kids range as there is only 2 options. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Call ahead to book for bigger groups. Finally took a photo of menu as there's nothing on here. Highly recommend as the views are lovely too, right by the water.

Lots of space and never too crowded. Good food and drinks choices. Good value for money. Larger groups can easily be catered for in this restaurant. Nothing better on sunny days. Close to the waterfront for a leisurely stroll. Big windows for the best view on offer! Bring your dog, lots of tables outside to enjoy a coffee with all you dog loving buddies. ❤

Second time here after a gap of many years, I found myself eating faster than usual, and opening the mouth a little wider…it’s that delicious. Spacious and cosy with wonderful water views, we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. And full marks to the hosts. This is a spacious and kids friendly place.

A very humble cafe that provides a wide selection of offerings from pastry items to coffee to great brunch products. I especially enjoyed the Apple-Feijoa Smoothie! The Vegetarian dish in Filo pastry was also very filling

Very good location with views over the Marina to the Islands.Great food at affordable prices. Always busy but the staff are excellent and wait times are minimal. Service has remained excellent, over the counter food choices were limited today. Still provides excellent iced coffee.

This is always a great place for coffee and food with really neat proprietors and staff, could do with a bit of acoustic insulation to soften the noise levels but still one of the best cafes in the Eastern areas of Auckland. The Cafe is a great size where we as members of the Howick Menzshed can get together in groups up 40 strong and enjoy each other's company and friendship with a very good coffee or a large variety of other drinks plus a splendid range of foods, cakes, snakes etc. Seating outside is plentiful with the right weather of course. Inside tables would probably cater for up nearly 150 plus fellow Cafe goers. The staff are very efficient and super friendly especially the best barista Olivia and the manager Kathrine, but all the others are neat too, really enjoy my coffees, brunches etc. here, favorite Cafe in New Zealand. Generally here weekly, sometimes more as if I meet with friends for lunch or coffee I try always to suggest we go to AraTai Cafe and once visited these friends love to return and bring other people here as well.

Good counter food and not bad menu. Great location.

Nice food. But you have to wait a long time for your food. Placed order at 11.00am got food at 11.45. Too long a wait and it all arrived at different times.

What a stunning cafe. I appreciated the wide range of food and bakery-treat options. It was very difficult to decide what I wanted to eat, because everything just looked so fresh and delicious. Light, bubbly and relaxing atmosphere: perfect for a solo coffee and treat or for a catch up with a group friends. The location is great, becuase you can stop for a cuppa as part of your morning walk or cycle, or you can drive there (more than enough parking). The views are also stunning - overlooking the Marina.

Had a business meeting here. The staff were very friendly and the coffee was good. We sat outside which is very nice in good weather. The tables also has a decent amount of space between them and the counter and serving area was clean and tidy as well. Would definately come back again.

Ordered the ‘rosti stack’ expecting some rosti. Turned out to be your average eggs Benedict with two hash browns which seems to be a loose interpretation of potato rosti haha. Cheap, average and uninspired menu. Good enough in a pinch. Coffee was pretty good. Extremely busy cafe with lines forever. If you’re looking for something casual at a nice location this is okay, but wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for a really amazing meal or anything special .

We’ve been coming here Sundays at lunchtime with my elderly Dad and yesterday we were later than usual and the staff were very accommodating in finding us a table in the shade for him. As usual service was Uber fast and the food awesome.

Fettuccine with salmon and pumpkin chicken pasta we're both nice. Serving portion was also right and coffee was really good. What more can you ask for a $35 Breakfast for 2 persons plus a wonderful marina view?

Very popular cafe with good range of cabinet food plus menu items. Coffee is pretty good too. The only downside is the number of sparrows that always seem to be present inside the cafe. Never had one poo on me, but always slightly wary.

We love Ara Tai Cafe. This morning was a family morning tea / brunch. Everything was delicious as usual. Just one hitch.....my daughter's order didn't turn up. When she enquired they didn't have it written down but she soon had a plate in front of her and everyone was happy. It's the best place to be on a sunny winter's morning.

Popular restaurant with no vacancies even though it was visited on a cloudy day. We should find our own vacant seat, but I felt sorry for not having any notice. . .Anyway the staff were kind. We waited patiently, but the food was fantastic beyond expectation.

Came across this great looking place after visiting my dentist. It was a pleasant brunch experience as they have a nice view to the marina, food is quite fresh and tastefull.

Such a selection to choose from! Great service and delicious food, the date scones are particularly good, in a league of their own! Everything made on site, super fresh.

Had a breakfast, which was delicious, however the smoothie tasted surprisingly watered down. The sparrows flying around inside is also a little disconcerting.
