I would give a 5 star, though the iced hot chocolate we ordered last time had no ice cream in it and ironically it isn't meant to have ice in it. Although apart from that, this place does unreal Tuna spread, the savory and pastries are unreal as well. If you know what a good french stick tastes like then this place is where to go! Service is always outstanding. Place is always packed and people are always happy here.

Real bread, the best pastries and great coffee. Under new management and looking fresher snd better than ever. Still the same quality food, your old favorites as we as some new treats. Be prepared though. It is also super busy, but everything under control so wait is short! 😄 Still going strong. Always some new treats to tempt you.

During Alert level 3 there tuna French stick sandwiches have a become a bit bland and must be a change of mayo which I'm sad about. Also they need to put the delicious quiches in separate bags. This has been the third visit during level restrictions and the same result.

Great little bakery with fresh ingredients and organic coffee. I Recommend the baguettes and almond croissant!

Best French Café in Auckland. It is such an authentic French place, from the ambiance to the food. Loved and highly supported by the locals. Go there on the morning for a coffee and a croissant or go there for lunch for the best beef pie or galette. They started as well to do Thursday take-aways and they are just like a travel back home to France. Awesome staff and service, always... Well done Chateaubriant!!!

This cafe NEVER disappoints! Delicious, fresh, home made food, everytime! Owners exceptional, Margaux and Allan are amazing. Lovely, friendly staff, really, really good coffee and a gorgeous location! What more could you want???

Average experience. Have been here before and had a much better experience. Left feeling the food and coffee were expensive as both of us commented on the food being possibly a day or so old and the coffee not as good as other places we frequent. Left feeling disappointed.. maybe my expectations were too high.

Had a celebrating 🍾 sunday meal here today. We were welcomed at the entrance and by the owner, really nice. Food was delicious and coffee very very good. Like the feel of this Cafe. Check it out for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Chateaubriant is a little pocketful of the delights of France: authentic quiche, breads, pastries, etc, delicious coffee, and the ambience you'd expect. A sweet moment in any day.

Marvelous cafe' noir here. Or Long black I had. Beautiful Salmon quiche too. Was so very French too 🇨🇵 🥐🧀☕

Great little French Cafe. Good coffee, nice selection of deli and bakery goods. And I can honestly say that they make possibly the tastiest beef pies I've had anywhere. Not cheap but well worth the price. Wonderful combination of excellent pastry and stuffed full of chunks of tender beef in a rich hearty gravy. Just as well that I don't live too close!

Loved my pie it was flavourful and coffee was perfect. The service was wonderful with cheerful. Even puppy enjoyed her visit and wooft down a tidbit. Ty for lovely meal

French cafe This French cafe/patisserie is a great little spot for lunch with a selection of sandwiches/baguettes, pastries or cooked menu items to choose from. We tried a couple of the baguettes and some Madeleines and they were delicious. The coffee was pretty good too!

Super trendy, beautifully French and a pinch of rustic charm. On the pricier side but literally everything edible looks gorgeous. I struggled to not grab 11 things. A decent long black and tasty croissant aux almond was had amongst a pleasant hubub of locals chatting.

Favourite place to visit on my morning walk. Best coffee, love the music and French groceries! Unfortunately I cant eat wheat but the teenagers say the savoury delights and croissants are the best they have tasted !!

Excellent eclectic local deli/Caffe. Prepared cabinet foods and quality French cheeses etc. Also great coffee, and you can order ahead a rotisserie chicken, combine that with a bagette baked on the premises and you have that makings of an quick easy and absolutely delicious meal, all you need is a little of one of the selection of salads.

Charming, characterful cafe and deli, used to be run by a local French family. Fresh bread is baked on the premises. Seating inside and out, but used to have several small outdoor tables, now only two, one of which is way too large and sticks out into the pavement. Average coffee.

A cosy little French-themed lunch venue run by friendly French people in a quiet area of the Devonport peninsula. Some products are baked on site and they make a few simple but high quality lunch options including the superb "Rooster" filled baguette. Coffee is great. The décor is perfectly shabby and mismatched, which is a good thing in this case. Small, pricy but excellent pastries are available and a small deli counter offering high quality cheeses and cured meats. An excellent place to have a quiet chat over a coffee in a civilised setting.

Great selection of French baked goods to eat in or take away. It's really a bakery with a space to have coffees and is a standout performer in that space.

Having lived in Europe for two decades, I have a weak spot for authentic pastries and French food. This is one of the best in Auckland especially when beach is a stone away !

I had the Parsley Omelette with a crepe and a flat white. Was really great sitting outside in the sun. There also plenty of options to take away, warm or cold.

Iconic Devonport cafe with beautiful French cuisine and expertly crafted strong certified Organic coffee in a great location in Vauxhall Rd. The cafe is close to Cheltenham beach and with easy parking and also a handy bus stop outside. This is a Devonport must do!!!

Perfect place for breakfast or brunch on a weekend. This French cafe/bakery has it all. Great food, great customer experience, and its setting is amazing.

Pie was good, bit pricey for it's size but it's a French bakery in Devonport so that's to be expected. Coffee was brilliant.

We also bought some cheeses and baguettes to take away, then walked to the beach (Cheltenham beach) which is well worth a short hike. Everything was very good and the owners were very welcoming! (Original) De bonnes patisseries et une ambiance agréable (ils jouaient du Renaud!) On a aussi acheté quelques fromages et des baguettes à emporter, puis avons marché jusqu'à la plage (Cheltenham beach) qui vaut bien une petite randonnée. Tout était très bon et les propriétaires bien accueillants!
