Reviews of Chuffed
L.
We went there a couple of weeks ago. I ordered iced latte and crumpets with chocolate mousse. I loved iced latte. The crumpet was not flavorful itself, but the chocolate sauce and bacon added some flavors and it went well with iced coffee. Such a nice place to have a brunch date with your loved ones.
G.
Great hidden away gem in Auckland.
Really interesting menu with great coffee to accompany.
Plenty of seating around the back so don’t be mistaken when you see a more traditional coffee nook when you arrive.
The crumpets are amazing!!! Absolutely worth the trip :)
Great spot for a break when shopping the clothes stores in the area.
S.
One of the best coffees in Auckland and an array of mouth watering treats on offer.
What a spot and perfect
For a cbd office catch up. Private courtyard to get away from the noise of the big smoke too!
K.
cool place, good service, food takes awhile
, nice iced mocha, great presentation and delicious taste.
A.
Great food, great coffee, tad expensive for the portion size of the home made crumpets, also felt like it could have been a tad bigger as well. Overall great though
M.
One of the last bastions of hospitality on High Street, this famous yet discreet cafe will leave you feeling Chuffed about locating it. Top notch kitchen, friendly staff, and of course, good coffee. Unpretentious but classy, for even a humble visitor.
D.
Great food, great coffee and great service in this lovely cafe tucked away on High Street not far from Freyberg Square. The main seating area is outdoors when it’s fine and indoors and sheltered from the rain when it’s wet. And it’s a nice quiet spot for when the conversation is as important as the food and drink being consumed.
G.
We were looking for a nice place for a quick coffee and ended up with a beautiful spot and some delicious food.
Despite needing the space for a booking at 11:50, the staff were accommodating and allowed us to grab a quick bite to eat.
There was a small wait, but that was expected considering they were busy. I order an iced americano that was smooth and didn’t taste bitter at all.
A combination of the good atmosphere, lovely staff and yummy food, 5 stars is well deserved. If I wasn’t only visiting, I’d visit much more often.
S.
This place has never disappointed me. Starting from the coffee to their cheese toastie..everything is fresh and tasty. Good value for money. The seating area is very cosy and nicely decorated.
The toasted muffin with a dollop of butter is a must try. :)
D.
this cafe joint was decent but the michka waitress was phenomenal, id like to hire her as my own personal waitress cause she just did amazing. i said yo waitress and she just did her job better than ive ever seen before.

We were visiting Auckland for three days and couldn't help but visit this place every day for breakfast! They are open already from 7 am.
The coffe was great. We tried both macchiato and cappuccino. I preferred the cappuccino. It seems they serve their own roasted coffe. A mixed of Colombian and Guatemalan.
From the menus we got the granola, avocado toast, mushroom toast, poached egg on rye. All delicious and high quality ingredients. It's a bit pricey but totally worth the quality and taste.
The menu also hasms sandwiches and healthy lunch options which we didn't try.
The staff was lovely and attentive and we felt welcomed.
The place is cozy with not many seatings and the tables are quite close to each other so if this makes you uncomfortable the place is not for you. We sat in the backyard , fresh air but also with an awning for the rainy days.
E.
I would say that one of the best cafe in Auckland is Chuffed. It is located in the middle of Auckland city and hiding in High street but once you find here it makes you come here often. Good vibe, great coffee, nice food and amazing staffs!
F.
I absolutely love this place. Their little patio at the back it's perfect for anytime. And the coffee pretty good quality. I had the mushrooms, great dish if you're vegetarian.
p.
It’s a little spot with amazing food. I really like the atmosphere, good coffee, and nice interior.
P.
One of the best breakfast spots in the city, nicely tucked away in high street. Really good food and service..
R.
Awesome little cafe rugged away from the street through a short hallway. Small table inside in front of the kitchen and coffee counter. Most immediately make way to the back porch with more seating. Beautiful bright space with tasteful decor. The omelette I had was very creative and yummy. This will most definitely be one of my go to breakfast spots going forward. Also looking forward to trying their well reviewed lunch options!
D.
Good environment and good food at the convenient High Street in town. Place isnt huge so can be packed during busy hours. I particularly liked the slow cooked lamb shoulder. Service is decent. Will likely return for more brunches.
A.
The perfect way to start your morning! Fantastic coffee and seriously yummy and healthy-adjacent food. Everything we had is just fresh and delicious. Grab a seat outdoor on the cool patio if you can and enjoy the weather.
L.
This just might be the best coffee in Auckland! Great staff also, I met with customers two weeks in a row, the staff remembered this and directed them to where I was sitting, nice touch!!
R.
Awesome hidden away little gem in the Auckland CBD that does some of the best coffee in Auckland with incredible food to go along with it. It has a great atmosphere with a hip, trendy vibe and modern fit out, seating is located out the back in a small courtyard that has a very Melbourne feel to it, very cool! Staff are also friendly and provide great service, would recommend to anyone traveling to Auckland and looking for a good coffee or great cafe breakfast or lunch.
A.
It’s good, tasty food but still nothing too special. No smoking area. Family friendly. Service is slow. Food came first, and no cutlery.
Good location.
Service: 1/5
Food Quality: 3/5
Food Quantity: 4/5

Chuffed is one of the city's hidden gems! This used to be my local coffee haunt, because of their consistently excellent coffee..... It has never failed to disappoint despite countless visits over thr past few years (it's some of the best coffee in the area). The service is friendly but not over bearing, and the cabinet food is definitely worth the slightly higher price tag. If you have the time I would recommend dining-in in order to enjoy their (surprise) outdoor deck area. This is equally as comfortable in the winter as it is in the summer due to the thoughtful additions of blankets and a fire. However if you are just dropping by for your morning caffiene hit, their scones are an excellent accompliment.
L.
Ordered chai latte and omelet. Coffee was awesome and the omelet was super delicious, and you will definitely feel chuffed with the outside dining area which you can enjoy the sunshine and the hustle and bustle of this lovely cafe. The only thing that maybe disappoint you is the long waiting time for your food to be served because this gem is super popular and this time we waited for nearly one hour to get our food on the table.
N.
Chuffed is a cafe snuggled in a nice spot on High Street. What's great about this place is the quality of both food and service. Friendly staff and one of the few places in Auckland that get you water to the table. The sandwich menu is what I usually go after and have never been disappointed. The coffee is well presented. Recommended time is a bit earlier in the morning as this seems when the charm of Chuffed is the best.
E.
We had the chorizo omelet, the eggs benedict with cured salmon and the mushrooms on toast. Great food. Very tasty. I liked my chai latte. Service was excellent. You wait to be seated but we got a free table right away which was nice. Decor is super cute, the room has a lot of light as well and is nice and warm.
L.
From a group that consists of : 2 x baristas, 1 x chef, 1 x mixologist and 2 x super foodies - beautiful spot, delicious food, and honestly the best service I've experienced in Auckland city, espresso martinis on point! Lovvvvveee!!! ❤❤❤
E.
amazing place just hides in the city
W.
Went here to try their Auckland restaurant month dinner menu. It was very delicious and the atmosphere is definitely cozy.
Both the lamb and beef are very nicely cooked, while the cheesecake really stands out as a dessert.
D.
One of the best breakfasts I’ve had while in NZ. Service was fast and friendly, menu was full of delicious items, I loved the eggs benny which was on American biscuits and mushrooms, instead of ham and toast, the coffee was amazing, smooth with some hint of bitterness. If you’re looking for an amazing breakfast, this is it!
D.
Ordered a couple of takeaway cuppas, as I heard a lot of good things about Chuffed.
Wasn’t disappointed—really good coconut flat what, friendly barista. Will definitely be back 👍☕️
A.
So pleased I visited this spot. Superb coffee (how's the latte art skills), awesome vibe of the place. Staff amazing, super friendly and accommodating (family of 4 with baby) and just a brilliant experience. A must visit!
E.
I was here early on a Sunday morning - one of the only places around open before 10am on Sunday! Beautiful little shop, nice staff and decent coffee. Worth a stop in if you are in the area.
H.
This place is sooo beautiful. If you can get space, you have to go. We didn't get food, only coffee. However the whole experience was amazing 👏
A.
The cutest little cafe! Tucked away on High Street, it can be difficult to spot. Once you enter the doors you immediately notice the cool atmosphere, warm temperature, plants everywhere… definitely an escape from the city just 10m outside. Very accommodating for vegan and vegetarians! Staff are helpful and knowledgeable. It can be difficult to get a good table during lunch time so I would recommend booking in advance!!
J.
Lunch at Chuff, THUMBS UP FROM US - We were very chuffed!
L.
Had a wonderful breakfast here. The salmon crumpet and Eggs Benedict were so good and the coffee was great. Good service too from the gentleman with the impressive beard. The cafe looks tiny but through the door to the right of the counter is a deck with extra seating.
K.
Set up is cool. Ordered their house made crumpet. Im not sure if it’s supposed to be cold or warm up tho. Its a bit bland
H.
Great little hidden gem in the middle of town. Get in early as it's quite popular and there is limited seating. Popped in for breakfast and the did was amazing. Will definitely be back again!!
J.
Always good when I come. The food is fresh and tasty. This place doesn't put too much into one dish like some places who think quantity makes quality. Long black is tasty and not bitter. Their bacon and egg bap is delicious with the tomato/salsa jam.
C.
Been here a few times for brunch and had their breakfast menu. Delicious everytime. The place is always packed and if you sit on the outside deck area, they sometimes open the roof area for natural light if the weather is good.
J.
Awesome place! Great coffee, good food, really pretty space. Tunes were spot-on and service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely return.
N.
Nice cozy café with good food on High st
Had the poached pear infused with ginger crumpets, it was gorgeous for the senses. Flat white with almond milk was beautifully served.
K.
Lovely service and excellent food. Eggs benedict with mushrooms was delicious.
D.
Great atmosphere, best place to grab coffee on an early morning. Staff are real friendly. They make the best chicken sandwiches. Highly recommend to grab a bite and share bants with staff.
R.
I cannot overstate how good the food is here. Very fresh, super tasty, I hope all our breakfasts are like this in the future!
S.
This place was mind blowing. From the coffee to my perfectly made omelette, the experience was amazing. We were in a bit of a rush due to a ferry we had to catch, but otherwise we would have spent more time here. I was learning the Auckland has a big cafe culture and this place is the paradigm case. Superb food!
J.
An all time favourite spot. Love the coffee, cuisines and atmosphere. Waiters are professional and genuinely friendly. Tried the new Avo Mash with Dhaka, it was delicious and exotic with a hint of spice which I loved so much. The new menue is great and I was happy to see the popular crumpets made a pleasant come back to the menue.
g.
Wonderful vibes and decor, fab service, and gorgeous food. Prices are as you'd expect from a cafe in town; would 100% recommend to anyone, with lots of options for vegans, gluten-free, and vegetarians peeps.
D.
Noisy back room cafe. Eggs Benedict had no style, big breakfast was okay pot of tea was really weak...
Going to the toilet was like playing supermario brothers. 3 stars
J.
We get our weekly source of eggs benedict here. Best EB going around, great service. Favourite cafe in Auckland.
A.
Delicious food. Amazing service !!
Highly recommend. Will be retuning next time I’m in town.
M.
Lovely coffee spot on High Street with superb service and the most beautiful outside seating in the backyard. Perfect for catching a break from a shopping frenzy or the hordes of people on Queen Street. Flat Whites were excellent as was the music selection!!
D.
Really nice coffees here and a hidden little cafe in the heart of the city. I haven’t tried the food but will come back.
O.
Clean, friendly, and food was delish! The buses and hist gentleman super friendly and polite...our waitress not so much...but she was smiley and friendly to all the other tables around us... So maybe it was us. #wouldgoback
P.
Beautiful location, clean rustic look great feel, staff was very friendly. Most importantly the food was delicious all the dishes have there own little touches, no boring meals here. I ordered the burnt cauliflower, which was quite delectable. Large filling pieces of cauliflower cooked very nicely with delicious hummus and a nice sweet addition and crunchy roasted garbanzo beans. My quest order the chicken burger which was also amazing and for drink we ordered the cosset chai and the hot chocolate which were both exactly what we were looking for. This has been a great experience and I highly recommend it to foodies everywhere!
N.
Great atmosphere in the courtyard, friendly team. Perfect spot for a morning coffee
E.
A really nice Cafe, quite reasonably priced food (~18-20NZ$ for an above average brunch). The staff were quite generous in letting us stay quite a while after we finished our meals and coffee even though they were quite busy. Good selection of vegetarian food and nice coffees.
Overall very solid Cafe with good ambience and food.
C.
Very hidden location but a great find in city, great coffee and food. Service was quick.
P.
Really friendly service paired with some really good food that is hidden away by its location
I.
Good spot for quick breakfast.
Hidden gem.
D.
It was our first time here today! My partner, my friend, and I really enjoyed the food!!! Thank you guys ☺
M.
Lovely breakfast, food was great, coffee was perfect. Atomstphere was quiet and refreshing. Staff were excellent. They don't take Amex though.
J.
Today I just had a Reuben sandwich and coffee. The coffee was great, sandwich was good but nothing really to get excited about.
G.
Great coffee and service super cute fit out too! A must for real coffee lovers!
G.
Great coffee and delicious food. One of the staff noticed I was a bit uncomfortable with the sun glare and quickly extended the canopy. Wonderful hospitality I must say.
K.
Chuffed is a great little cafe on High St. They serve great coffee and I can highly recommend the cheese toastie! 😋
J.
Lovely outdoor seating area at the back. Very good quality brunch food.
M.
Came here for a rainy morning breakfast, little hard to find tucked away down a little hallway, a inconspicuous back patio with wonderful views great food and a seriously bold and delightful cup of coffee.
Absolutely electric waitress with a super peppy attitude.
This is the type of place that I could spend every weekend, go on a date with your significant other or just go to escape the hustle.
10/10
C.
Nice small spot. Love my flat white with coconut milk and my vegan sandwich! The staff were awesome!
M.
Really enjoyed the omelet. Good place to meet. Considering the choices in the area this was ok.
A.
Really good coffee. The outside area creates a really nice ambience. All the staffs are friendly. I tried the egg Benedict. The best one so far
D.
Great coffee place, to me the best in Auckland! Amazing food too!
C.
Keep your eyes out for this hidden gem, great coffee, even better food and service.
H.
Great cafe, perfect for a quick meal and coffee. The sandwiches were great and the service was outstanding. Will definitely be back again for another visit.
M.
Friendly service, lamb and beef were good. Coffee was alright.
I.
This place is COOL 😎
Had a really well balanced Iced Mocha! The ratio of coffee to chocolate was great! 🤯 Also was pretty "Chuffed" the barista remembered us from earlier. It's the little things that makes the difference for customer service.
I look forward to trying a meal there!
L.
Great vibe, excellent food. Close table settings so a 4.
M.
I've always loved the idea of having a 'go-to' cafe that never disappoints and at last I have found mine!! I have been here well over 20 times by now and have yet to be let down. Their iced matcha lattes, eggs on toast, chilli scrambled eggs and fungi medley are some of my favourites. The staff are always so welcoming, I've never had to wait for a meal for over 20-30 minutes and its a good location to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city (and surprisingly very quiet). 10/10 recommend
A.
Chuffed is a beautiful little atrium style café in the midst of a concrete jungle. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The coffee is deliciously well made, as is the food. They also have a great selection of tasty vegan and vegetarian options. Highly recommend.
G.
Rocket batch brew was delicious and my family enjoyed their teas, coffees and smoothie. Awesome spot to hide away for an afternoon drink, open til 4 which is great!
E.
Great little Cafe with an delicious menu and superb food.
r.
Good place for breakfast and coffee. I loved the muffins.
S.
Good brunch meals. Cashier appeared busy
S.
Great breakfast and coffee. Nice outdoor seating even in the colder months.
J.
One of the top cafes on high st. A great place to have a business conversation right through to a coffee and chat. Very reasonably priced for the great quality coffee, food, and atmosphere. The staff are non intrusive and chuffed sits as the standard of what I’d describe as an excellent cafe and wonderful experience. Plus they have sparkling water on tap
S.
Delicious eggs Benedict for around $20. Bread was yummy but a bit dry. Bacon too. Nice environment and friendly and efficient staff. The barista/manager acknowledged us straight away and was really nice. Coffee is strong and tasty. One of the best cafes I've been in Auckland CBD.
P.
Really good brunch and friendly staff :)
G.
Perfect place to have a wonderful brunch and coffee~
J.
Waited a good 15mins just for 2 lattes..
Their milk didn’t taste as fresh as last time. Was my second time here :(
Love the atmosphere though.
C.
Great atmosphere! Went there during a nat busy lunch time and had a delicious cubano sandwich! Would highly recommend!
S.
Great coffee! Almond milk and piccolo tasted AMAZING
s.
Best coffee in Auckland! Really cool tucked away cafe with hygge outdoor seating area
P.
The best breakfast I've had in ages! 🍳🥓
J.
Really nice here. Lovely staff, food and tea. My friends had coffee which they said is good, too.
E.
Really great local spot for a sit down brunch or take away. Quiet semi outdoor eating area that you'll never want to leave.
M.
Cute cafe with healthy yummi food. The decor of the outside area is cool with graffitis used to decorate the patio. It's inside a retail area on the back.
N.
Food visual is nice but portion is a little small for the price. Nice seatings and friendly staffs
A.
I looked up "Good Breakfast Auckland". Absolutley delighted. Reminded me of Melbourne. Service kind and gentle, Coffee perfection, Benny WOW! Even the music was just low key, goid vibes. We will be back! Thank you, we are dead chuffed we came.
R.
I wouldn't have set afoot to this place had it not been for my friends' recommendation. We were quite amazed with its one of a kind set up in the heart of the city.
I had salmon Eggs Benedict. It had a very thick hollandaise sauce which I liked, but it may not be for everyone's taste pallet. My partner had eggs, and again which had a very rich taste.
P.s. avoid the seats directly next to the door to outside. The wind tunnel in Chuffed is quite something!
M.
One of the best coffee in the city center ♡
S.
Had breakfast at Chuffed today and it was great! We had the eggs on toast and the poached chicken sandwich which was amazing! Great location in the city and the staff were so friendly as well!
E.
Absolutely delicious. Warm banana porridge with lime was so tropical and indulgent, the house cured salmon was really fresh and rich, the coffees were fantastic. Don't go until next week because I plan on going there every day and I don't want to have to wait too long for a table!
N.
Great food and coffee. Will have to come back to have that epic Reuben sandwich!
Y.
I ordered salmon & Avo and extra Mushroom.
It was good
R.
I love this place. Captures sun and a beautiful layout. Great coffee. Would like to see more interesting filled rolls in cabinet so we are not pushed up to $20 for a healthy option.
M.
I haven't had an espresso as fragrant and tasty for years. Seriously, the moment they put it on my table, my nose got hit by a train of coffee aroma and it was a very pleasant ride for my taste buds as well.
Oh, and the chicken burger was great too! :-)
E.
Amazing brunch: we had the ginger poached pears on crumpets and the pork and veal meatballs. Both had perfect flavours and seasoning! Really delicious stuff. The coffee was okay -and pretty- but tasted under extracted, too acidic for me. Great place for atmosphere and service!
R.
Their Cubanos are DIVINE
Really friendly staff!
B.
Amazing food with lots of vege and vegan options.
A.
The coffee and food is always good. Although food can be a bit pricey! There was this one cool time, near the end of the day, when I asked for a batch brew, they gave me a free coffee because it didn't fill the cup! Top notch service. Plus they serve the awesome rocket coffee.
M.
The place is really chic, but tables are just too small and the chairs not very comfy. If you are in for a quick breakfast or coffee it's ok, but if you want to sit and chill make sure you get a sofa seating. The food was simple but tasty, however the staff was probably too busy or not trained well to keep up with the amount of customers.
S.
Came here for brunch and I highly recommend the mushroom medley, with an extra size of bacon. One if the best breakfasts I've had in a long time, with everything cooked to perfection.
This place is also great for coffee lovers as you get a great selection of cold brew coffee and fun shakes (like the peanut butter one).
If you decide to go during on the weekend, don't be surprised if you have to wait a little bit before being seated as it's a pretty popular spot.
M.
Yeah, pretty stylish place. Food was 👌🏽 coffee even better🙌🏽. Although refreshing, I found it quite odd that there was no internet available... if you're going for breakkie and to take care of a bit of business before attending a meeting - you might want to make sure that you have data & hotspotting capabilities.
J.
Excellent coffee, interesting food
C.
Great atmosphere! Went there during a nat busy lunch time and had a delicious cubano sandwich! Would highly recommend!
A.
Chuffed is a beautiful little atrium style café in the midst of a concrete jungle. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The coffee is deliciously well made, as is the food. They also have a great selection of tasty vegan and vegetarian options. Highly recommend.
J.
I would definitely want to try all the dishes. Absolutely reasonable price compared to the quality.
I.
Really nice food and coffee. Nice people as well LOVE IT
J.
One of the top cafes on high st. A great place to have a business conversation right through to a coffee and chat. Very reasonably priced for the great quality coffee, food, and atmosphere. The staff are non intrusive and chuffed sits as …
T.
Great coffee for a decent price.
G.
Excellent cafe hidden away from the busy street outside, with good food and great service. Highly recommended!
B.
Awesome iced latte, creamy and really balanced coffee.
M.
Cute cafe with healthy yummi food. The decor of the outside area is cool with graffitis used to decorate the patio. It's inside a retail area on the back.
E.
Both good and coffee ate delicious. The only negative would be everything could be hotter.
Service was great with good knowledge of products.
Menus were tatty, so should be replaced more often and a wider breakfast options would be appreciated.
T.
Had an espresso martini after a long time. Good toasties and friendly staff! The place was buzzing with people . It is a great brunch place!
Going to try some other toasties the next time😃
J.
Really good coffee and a nice inside, with a cool toilet
A.
Allows dogs. Great service, great meal
P.
Great location great food great coffee . An oasis in the middle of the city.
도.
One of the best places to get decent coffees in Auckland.
D.
One of my favourite CBD cafes. The coffee is superb, the service fast and polite, and food quick and good. I love the semi - outdoor area at the back. Quite unique for an inner city cafe and I'm a sucker for their Feta & Zucchini omelette. If you've not been here yet you should give it a try. Perfect place for a casual business catch up over a coffee.
G.
Great food. Egg was poached perfectly. Coffee is always great. The wait staff weren't over servicing, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Outdoor area is great on a sunny day.
C.
Chuffed WAS a delightful gem, hidden away in central Auckland that served amazing food. The atmosphere, staff, food and drinks were perfect. Its first steps into falling into a downward spiral was the constant staff change, they went from professional to lazy and inexperienced. The quality in food has dropped drastically and the number of bugs and insects that hang around the dining area really kills a persons appetite. I look forward to seeing an improvement on this cafe, it can definitely go back to being the paradise it once was with a bit of effort.
Z.
Decent food and nice coffee but definitely not something I'd go back to - at least as a vegetarian who's not a fan of eggs...
P.
Wow. Had the cauliflower salad with salmon. Place was packed and had to wait for it for a while but well worth it. Perfectly balanced. I'm not even sure why it tasted so good it seemed quite simple, hummus, toasted cauliflower, small leaf shaped slices of lightly cooked onion, couscous, toasted capers (I think) plus no doubt a few other things I was too busy eating to notice. Each element stood on it's own and showed care and attention and together they blended so well. Highly recommended. Coffee definitely better than average also. Take someone you love who appreciates simple food prepared with love.
L.
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Tasty food, just a little bit pricey.
P.
Worth a visit. Good coffee and interesting food. Can feel a bit crowded when busy.
D.
Great coffee but with greatness come crowds and so be prepared to wait for your coffee to be made. Friendly staff and very casual, possibly a bit too casual if you are in a hurry and waiting in a line for service. So, if you are in a hurry or prefer staff who doff their cap to you then please go elsewhere for your coffee so that the rest of us get a shorter queue.
T.
One of the best cups of coffee in Auckland. Tasty, well presented food is just on the expensive side. Staff are friendly and attentive. A great place for breakfast if you go early.
G.
I've been in NZ for 6 years and this was the best breakfast I've had so far.
Ginger poached pears on crumpets with maple syrup and vanilla cream. Coffee was great and service spot on.
Get there early as they get mad busy by 0930-10 on weekends.
G.
Excellent cafe hidden away from the busy street outside, with good food and great service. Highly recommended!
J.
Friendly but slightly stressed staff. Good but not great food and coffee. Smoothies adequate but nothing better than what you can easily blend up at home. Moderate prices. Nice decor and surrounds.
C.
The best hidden café in Auckland. Trust me it is awesome. Great range of coffee blends to choose from. Baristas who care about coffee like it's their career rather than kids who are just paying for uni. Never in my life had a bad cup. Great atmosphere with a covered balcony. Worth going there just for the amazing staff.
J.
Friendly staff, brilliant food. Worth a visit.
v.
Great choice of food and drinks for breakfast/brunch. The atmosphere is cosy and trendy. Nice small outside space. Perfect for chilling out while reading the NZ guidebook (many other people around us seemed to be organising their trip!)
J.
Will be going back sooner rather than later.
Great table service offered. Food quality to match. Nice selection of drinks.
The outdoor area is a great bonus in the middle of the city.
Only thing missing is a view like Cafe Barabra has on Princes Wharf ;)
K.
Just had a coffee but it was a good drop!
I.
Place is hip and trendy, nice atmosphere. Coffee was awesome but Eggs Benedict was pretty standard which was disappointing since it cost around $25 . All around nice place though, worth going to for the coffee
J.
One of my favourite cafe in the middle of the city to chill and relax. Their coffees are always on point, and not drowning in milk (e.g. small flat white). Their Reuben sandwich and grilled cheese sandwich are consistently fantastic, but their a la carte menu is also excellent.
J.
I would definitely want to try all the dishes. Absolutely reasonable price compared to the quality.
C.
Charming little Cafe, had the Reuben toastie, delicious! Friendly staff, good service and reasonable prices. Will definitely be back!
O.
My three friends and I came here for a chill brunch and Chuffed definitely delivered. The bircher muesli was to die for and the coffee was exquisite. The waitress was constantly stressed and got one of our drinks wrong, but aside from that, definitely a must go to.
M.
Came here one day hoping to do some work on my laptop but it was pretty busy (peak time for lunch), but it looked awesome inside so kept it in mind for another time. Went back for brunch over the weekend, which proved to be the right idea. Made a reservation in advance this time (!) and sat in the outdoor area out back. Full of character, the food was incredible, creative, and bursting with flavour! Service was on point and attentive. Picked up a caramel bar while paying at the front and that was delicious as well. Can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu!!
K.
Great looking cafe, excellent service, perfect coffee and delicious fresh generous food. Loved it.
F.
Really good food at a good price.
This place is a little difficult to find at the back of building lobby and is often quite busy. Most of the seating is under retractable screens outdoors so it is great in all weathers.
Thoroughly recommended!
a.
a very nice introduction to the country's eating culture and its people on our first morning in New Zealand. We had an incredible breakfast here served with a huge smile! It set the trend for the rest of our trip for sure.
H.
My partner and I came in when the kitchen was nearly closed and I ordered the eggs Benedict with smoked tomato hollandaise and portobello mushrooms. I felt a bit of hostility from the waitress as she didn’t like that I was ordering so close to the closing time. The food was average but my partner enjoyed the poached chicken sandwich!
J.
Lovely chorizo omelette and a great flat white. Busy (in a good way) but the staff couldn't have been more attentive. I'll be back whenever I'm in Auckland.
W.
Perfect combination of relaxed and intimate or just a few moments of solitude to read the paper while enjoying beautifully prepared food. Rocket coffee was well made with Fruity bright notes. Get in early for the toasted Reuben!
N.
I love this cafe, hidden just off the street,.opens up into a lovely sheltered, light and airy room. Fantastic food and good service. Very creative ambience.
D.
Great cup of coffee every time i visit there. The taste never changes. Such a great start of a day and one of the best coffee spots in Auckland
A.
Super friendly staff, and great tasting and value food to match. We went for dinner and a drink and had the entire selection of 'small plates' and liked every one of them, especially the panko and miso-caramel cauliflower - certainly recommend for a casual date night in the CBD!
N.
The single origin coffee was so good after a couple weeks of hostel instant coffee I almost cried. Ginger pear and vanilla cream crumpets were stellar. Great!
P.
Me and a friend got a "6 small bites to share between 2" gift for Christmas; we got 1 of each of the small bites. I found all of them to be tasty and we both agreed that the tacos were the best of the lot.
The atmosphere was relaxed and would be an ideal place to meet friends to catch up and grab some food. If the mains are as good as the light bites it would a great spot for a chilled meal out.
A.
Great coffee, the best we have tried on our cruise over the past 8 days. Our boys also loved the sausage rolls.
K.
Lovely cafe with great coffee, food and friendly staff. Had the Eggs Benidict with Salmon and it was lovely. Will definitely be back for Breakfast again during my stay.
R.
We went to Chuffed for the first time today, the food + coffee was superb! There's a cute rear courtyard and they had the heaters to keep the customers warm :) We were served by a chap called Thomas, he was very friendly and gave us awesome service - we'll go back again!
R.
Cute cosy small cafe in the heart of city.
N.
Every dish at Chuffed is creative, high quality and, above all, very moorish. The service is perfectly attentive and very conscientious. We've been back multiple times.
Seating is limited and the dining area is a little cold in winter but the quality of the food and service makes Chuffed so, so, worth the wait or the cold.
S.
It USED TO BE Auckland's most precious secret. Everything from the atmosphere to drinks to food to staff was perfect. Sometime in the past half a year (I am writing this in September, 2018), everything that used to be amazing changed. Food has become mediocre unless every part of the order is specified, staff service has become lazy and insects of all kinds hoard tables and the arial spaces around them.
It is truly unfortunate to see one of my favorite cafés slowly degrading. I hope to see Chuffed restored to its initial excellence in the near future.
Y.
It has a really nice atmosphere. Even on a rainy weekday morning, still popular among people.
P.
Absolutely delicious. Warm banana porridge with lime was so tropical and indulgent, the house cured salmon was really fresh and rich, the coffees were fantastic.
I.
Really nice food and coffee. Nice people as well LOVE IT
R.
Nice atmosphere, good food, nice staff
C.
Always kind well trained staffs and lovely coffee. My favorite part of this cafe is once you take a seat, staff serves the best sparkling water 😸
A.
Almond milk flat white
+ orange juice
+ bacon and egg bap
NZD$22
OJ fresh, cold, delicious.
Bacon bap decent size, thicker cut bacon that goes really well with the tomato chilli jam stuff.
Almond milk steamed well, got the artwork on top of the coffee and no splitting of the milk. Whatever beans they used in the coffee weren't for me at all, unfortunately.
Would be good if they had WiFi.
Mostly friendly service.
C.
Fantastic cafe! Tasty, well priced food with fast friendly service and the iced cosset chai is to die for. Been three times in the past month!
It’s hard to find a nice, peaceful spot in the hustle and bustle of the city, but this is definitely one.
A.
One of the best first impressions I've ever had with a cafe. Friendly, warm and inviting staff with a relaxing atmosphere.
Delicious food that catered to my needs despite having an abundance of delicious dishes on the menu. I've been here twice so far and each time have made up my meals from a selection of their sides each with a Paleo or LCHF approach.
I can't wait to return and sample a selection of their menu - especially the Cardamon Poached Pear dish.
♥
O.
It's a small, cozy place on High street. It is not that easy to find because its well inside a building. But the plus side is that its next to a nice plaza where you can enjoy your coffee on a sunny day.
T.
Great food and nice place 😍
H.
Sandwiches were amazing, philly cheese steak was perfect and coffee was exceptional.
So many things I want to come back and try
X.
Good dining environment, good food
j.
Went in the morning for my fix of hot chocolate..the peaceful ambience sets the tone for the entire day..Friendly staff
G.
Cool little place and a good atmosphere (especially if it's sunny, the outside area is neat). Coffee is good and food is also nice, although a bit poor in size - very small portions.
d.
We came here for breakfast on our first day in Auckland. I had the salmon Benedict, it was good. Coffee was good. Friendly staff.
M.
Great little gem of a coffee place in cbd Auckland.
G.
They do one of my favourite breakfasts for coeliacs - Banana Porridge: polenta, lime anglaise, coriander honey and macadamia crumb. There is something so unique about it! I've never been anywhere that has a porridge type option safe for coeliacs or a porridge made from polenta. Very unusual buy worth the try.
Can get really busy though :)
M.
What a gem!!!! Not many Cafes open in Central Auckland on a Sunday so a great find early Sunday morning. Top shelf food, service and attention to detail. Chuffed as!!!
C.
Had mushrooms with bacon and 2x moca and left happy. Will be mý choice for breakfast if in the area. Great service and coffee, food tasted different to my usual flavours but was a nice change
M.
Hyped up a little bit in my opinion. It's not a bad place, just very average. Food is OK, same with the coffee. Nothing to really set this place apart or make you want to come back.
A.
Patio is dog friendly, coffee and food delish, art on the walls is beautiful, seating area is cozily intimate. Love this place, Pukapuka and I will definitely visit again.
K.
Its a bit crowd but staffs are very friendly & foods are great
B.
Awesome iced latte, creamy and really balanced coffee.
B.
Great food, Great service. What more can you ask for? Get in early to get a table though
M.
Wonderful, friendly staff!! Walked in to get a takeaway coffee and each staff member smiled and made me feel welcomed!! Amazing coffee as well at a fantastic affordable price!
J.
Good coffee, and friendly staff, got more than a few friendly smiles, was promptly assisted with all my query’s. Nice atmosphere as well with good relaxing music.
M.
a secret place in CBD~, friendly staff..
J.
A busy lunchtime but we still managed to get a table for two. Had quite possibly the best Ruben sandwich. Got the large and split it between us for a snack sized lunch.
K.
Cute cafe but a little over priced for what you get and both the cleanliness and the attentiveness of the wait staff left much to be desired. I also found the menu description and the food served to have some inconsistencies.
P.
Unable to fault it from the care taken to present the butter, the sourness of the bread, the spectacular presentation of the food that was exceeded by its taste...they ONLY thing that wasnt perfection was the coffee is a slightly more bitter / darker roast than my personal preference...but as thats my personal taste to like a slightly lighter roast...it was close to perfection.
Looking forward to coming back and seeing if there is consistancy!
And a special thanks to the AirNZ Air Crew that recommended it to me!!
M.
Supposedly the best coffee in Auckland CBD but I wasn't overly wowed by it. Has a quaint atmosphere and reasonably good food. Definitely worth a try.
H.
Amazing food and great coffee. Always been a remarkable place
A.
Popped in to check the place out and was much busier than expected. Very friendly staff and quick service despite the crowd. Got myself a takeaway long black and left with a very nice, tangy little number.
R.
A great hidden café. But not so unknown, as it is very popular.
Good coffee and great ambience.
Worth a stop if in the high street area and need a coffee or a bit to eat.
W.
Relaxing environment with friendly staff. Unfortunately the coffee was diluted and weak every time I have been there ... The food is generally OK, but overall, Chuffed is rather overrated by the high ratings.
T.
had breakfast here 2 weeks ago monday and very busy. now we know why. service very good food fresh and tasty and coffee v good.
E.
Great atmosphere, feels like a hidden treasure. Great selection of food and drink, with excellent service. Only issue would be the noise from always being packed, a problem of being too popular!
P.
Cool setting in the courtyard out back, tasty food (I had the sweet crumpets). My flat white was ridiculously bitter, though; I couldn't even finish it.
H.
The coffee here is worth walking past at least 8 other coffee places. Consistently delicious and service with a smile. Scott and Harley make coffee like freak Columbian smoke wizards and should probably be arrested as nothing this good can be legal.
I bet their beans are magical or they spike the coffee with crushed leprechauns. So when you feel like treating yourself to a good coffee for a change go to Chuffed!!
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
A.
Attentive service, good coffee and delicious food. Our only complaint was the portion size which was a little parsimonious. A cute cafe away from the hustle of High St.
P.
Had two iced coffees. Very nice. Great service . Would go back again.
C.
Excellent spot! Had a superb chai latte and delicious Avo on Toast. Great breakfast and quick service!! Definitely a favorite.
T.
Great coffee for a decent price.
S.
Great experience and awesome crumpet with Salmon. We enjoyed Good coffee and smoothies. Good vibe on our Sunday morning visit
K.
Excellent food and coffee. Nice outdoor seating area. Worth a visit. Not five stars due to the ridiculously hard ciabatta.
N.
Good selection of cabinet and cafe food. The poached chicken sandwich is a highlight. The outdoor area at back is great for work brunches/lunches
G.
Decent "second-wave" coffee, and good breakfast options. The back area offers an unexpected slice of sky, but it's a little too cramped for private conversation when busy.
R.
Had brunch with former teacher and classmates in this homely and cosy cafe, tucked behind an alley between a couple of shops. The Eggs Benedict was lovely!
W.
Hidden away a gem with a superb breakdast
J.
Great coffee, but food was so-so.
J.
Really nice - a bit more pricey but worth it for the great food, coffee, friendly staff and quick service.
J.
Nice place with excellent coffee. Small selection of cakes. The Portuguese tarts had undercooked pastry.
A.
The perfect blend of hole in the wall and alcove to stimulate the cosy coffee experience. Always a plus where the cakes look more dramatic than the coffee...
L.
Beautiful place. The food was great and the staff very friendly.
H.
Taste better than one year before
C.
Enjoyed my porridge very much, breakfast menu is smaller though due to covid so something to bare in mind.

Always gave a great coffee here and the staff are friendly and professional, the girl at front of house even remembers my coffee after I was away for two weeks.
C.
Randomly wandered in to waste some time. Ended up finding my favourite cup of coffee in the city. Came back for brunch the following weekend and absolutely loved it.

Good service, meal a little basic but tasted great. Just loses a point for average tasting coffee.
S.
The coffee at Chuffed is always on point! The breakfast menu and lunch menus have a good range of options and the food is great!

W.
Very cool atmosphere and very good coffee. I wouldn't advise visiting during peak morning hours but a mid morning visit would likely be enjoyable.
S.
Great food and coffee, but the staff push you to get a coffee if you don't order one with your meal which is a little off-putting
A.
Coffee taste slightly blend. Atomsphere really good quite like how they decorated.
My steak was ok
V.
Really cool vibe, tucked away and a really pleasant surprise, food and coffee were great, would definitely return and take friends there !
