Been here for both lunch and dinner menus, both are excellent with lots to choose from. Food is tasty and the premises great, well maintained and lovely warm atmosphere. Lots of parking. They also do high tea, I didn't get any photos but it was also really good with our own private room for our group to enjoy.

I wanted to throw my mother in law a surprise birthday high tea because lockdown made her miss out on celebrating her 70th birthday last year. I contacted Fisher House and made the booking end let them know it was for a surprise birthday. The manager Piyush told me he would give us a private room for free if one was available on the day to help with the surprise. On the day we had a private room and the service was above and beyond. The staff if so friendly and helpful. They catered for the dietary requirements I told them about. The food was delicious and well presented. The lovely manager kept checking on us to see if we needed anything and if everything was ok. He later brought a complementary slice of cheesecake to my mother in law and sand happy birthday with us. That was really nice of them and I was so thrilled to see how my mother in law was having the best of time. Everyone enjoyed their meal and had a blast. I can’t thank Fisher House manager and the staff enough for making it a very special day for my mother in law. I can’t recommend this place enough!!!

We had a babyshower there this weekend. From the bookings right to the very end they were very helpful and quick to response. The venue was beautiful and the high tea was delicious. The staff went out of their way to make everything perfect. What a wonderful day we had there. Thank you so much.

Tried this place for lunch today with my workmates and we were impressed! I got the lamb shank which was so good, the mashed potato was velvety smooth and delicious, the gravy was the highlight and the shank was superb — it wasn’t falling off the bone but it was very tasty. Service was great and the staff were friendly. The food came out fairly quickly. Coffee was a little average but that was the only downer for me! Will definitely visit again.

I must admit I came here 10 years ago and the food wasnt too great so stayed away until today when a friend suggested we come here. Today food and service was excellent, really appreciate the staff letting us hang out for 3hrs without making us feel like we had to get out. We ate our meals and just drank water which they continued to top up. My salmon meal was so good that I will definitely be returning to have it again very soon.

We had a friends wedding dinner in one of the rooms here. It was really good that there was plenty of parking. The place was nicely decorated with lots of horses on the wall. Most of the food was served in a timely manner and it was generally tasty. The pasta serving my friend got was actually quite large. It was a nice venue for an event and the food was decent. I'm not sure of the costing though.

Lovely food and setting. We all had a great evening. Staff were very busy in other parts of the venue so limited service topping up water jugs. Also limited with supplies of wine glasses provided!. One of the staff unfortunately had terrible body odour

Went for a business event so there were quiet a few people in the group. I didn't order food till after the meeting, we were informed that the kitchen would close in 5 minutes, my order and several other people's orders were completed in a polite and professional manner, it was refreshing to not be told it's too late to order. Thank you to the staff in the front of the house and in the kitchen. The food was tasty and plated well. The atmosphere was friendly and warm. I would have taken photos of the food but it didn't last long, an enjoyable experience.

Great spot after work or for lunch. I had the fettuccine carbonara today and goodness me it was delicious. Creamy, well portioned, well cooked pasta and incredibly tasty. Generally friendly staff and usually busy in summer! Will keep coming back!

Piyush served our family of 5 for dinner on Sunday, key items to highlight: - ambiance is perfect - service was excellent and timely - spacing in our area of the restaurant is good - menu is just the right size, enough options to choose from but not overwhelming. - the entry was delicious (pork belly), serving size was good for price. Things that could improve for 5 stars: - the dessert (we ordered the mousse) was quite salty, we were hoping the hazelnut flavour stood out more - the steak was good but probably needed a bit more seasoning.

Went on a Fri nite, very busy with groups for Xmas. Had to ask at the bar to get shown to our table. All 3 of us enjoyed our food, all the dishes were delicious. Service was not good. It was slow and basic questions couldn't be answered. We ordered Cosmopolitans and what came back wasn't a Cosmo. We queried it, but nope they felt they had it right. All 3 of us knew they didn't. So we just didn't order any more drinks. I'd go back again but maybe not in a hurry.

The venue is exquisite and staff friendly. I was a little disappointed in the Thai salad, sauce tasted bottled and too much had been added. Food took ages to come out. We were a fairly large group. The pizza looked small for the price but the lamb was delish.

However, where they fell down was, when we had finished our dinner, we asked for cups of Coffee, and they said that they couldn't serve Coffee because she had just cleaned the machine, so it was closed off. They did themselves a disservice, by not asking previously before they closed off the serving of coffee-disPpointing..

We held our event on Saturday with about 30 people. Our manager on duty was Piyush and with his team helped us to get things set up. During the course of the evening the staff had also been attentive and timely in bringing out food etc. Amazing venue would recommend to anyone who would be wanting to have their own party in a serene setting.

My family eats breakfast here at least once a month. Food and service have been always good. Most recent visit was last Saturday served by Piyush was great despite being alone to start their day. For us, this is one of the great places to visit in East Tamaki area.

Went as a group of 10 people, most had steak of some description which I was told was pretty good. Myself and one other had the crispy pan fried snapper which basically was pretty tasteless. The lobster bisque was watery and really had no flavour at all. lovely venue, deserts were nice, service was a bit haphazard.

Had an amazing function for 30+ people on Sunday to celebrate my birthday. Staff were very friendly and efficient. It was absolutely perfect, the staff were helpful and friendly, they helped with setting up and with clearing our. They were very flexible and were happy to accommodate all our requests. Fisher House has a lovely setting. It is a beautiful home with some NZ history. The garden area is great for family groups to sit and also take photos. The food is always good and the staff are great. My family always celebrate a pre-Christmas brunch there.

I was at Fisher House a couple of months ago and my experience was terrible! At that point, I decided not to return to this restaurant any time soon. We were a group of four and paid nearly $450 for a three-course meal (including drinks). I must say the food was disgusting for the price that we paid!! Last Saturday, we decided to go and try out the breakfast! We thought we were taking a huge risk by trying out this place yet again. We walked into the restaurant with a bit of worry from the previous experience. We were warmly welcomed with a big smile by one of the staff members. He introduced himself as Piyush. We started with a nice conversation by explaining about the previous visit and he apologised for the terrible experience. Then he promised us he won't disappoint us this time. I MUST SAY HIS WORDS WERE NOT JUST WORDS BUT INSTEAD, HE PROVED THROUGH ACTIONS - THIS TIME, MY EXPERIENCE WITH FISHER HOUSE WAS FANTASTIC! 5 STAR FOR PIYUSH AND BECAUSE OF HIM WE WILL DEFINITELY COME BACK!

Attended a friend's wedding here this afternoon. Was rainy the whole day. Had the terrace all to ourselves. The Heatstrips on the ceiling made it quite comfortable without being overheated. Approximately 40 guests. A great selection of food - antipasto platters, beef kebabs, chicken skewers, vegetable skewers, fresh hot chips, a selection of crumbed seafood, two different varieties of pizzas, tuna & salad sliders, plus orange juice, water, red and white wine. Never knew this place existed. A lovely venue for a small group.

On Saturday afternoon, 9th February 2019, we had a Diamond Wedding celebration function at Fisher House for twenty eight people. The meal selection allowed something for all tastes, was plentiful and efficiently delivered by the staff. This venue is easily accessed both from the North and the South, with a large parking area. The staff were pleasant and efficient and the overall cost very reasonable. This is the third function that the family have had there and it will be top of the list for further functions

Location is amazing. It's very quiet and you seem like you're in a cottage in the middle of nowhere. Even if it was a rainy day it would be cozy eating inside. We went for lunch and there were a few options that were not available, including the Nutella mousse which I really wanted to try. The staff were friendly and we hadn't booked in advance so it was great they served us. However they did forget to put in one of our orders so we ended up waiting quite a while for all the food to arrive. They gave that dish at a discounted rate to make up for it. The food tasted great. I prefer the duck fat potatoes over the normal chips so I would go for those. The bclat I had filled up for lunch and struggled to finish that plus the potatoes. I did have tiramisu for dessert which was yummy but had too much chocolate sauce with it. Overall it was a good experience and would come back again. I would have scored it lower but the staff handled things well. It's worth a visit.

Also, there are outside seats with umbrellas and awnings (+ small garden) at the back. There is also a big room for a corporate evening (with catering)!

Went there for lunch today. Six adults and two children. The food standard generally was fine but exactly where the problem is I am not sure; service or kitchen. I asked for a ceasar salad with smoked salmon. It arrived with chicken, not salmon. I sent it back and it returned with a couple of small slices of salmon added. Another adult diner had ordered a roast vegetable salad that was clearly described as having pumpkin in it. When it arrived there was no sign of pumpkin at all. It was similarly returned for rectification. Most of the meals arrived together except two. My wife had a lamb shank which she said was very good but it arrived after almost everyone else had finished their meal. The other late arrival was fish and chips. I can understand the late arrival of the lamb shank but fish and chips 20-30 minutes after everyone else's meal is not good form. Really all the mains should have arrived together. We had asked for the children's meals to arrive asap which they delivered on. So food is slightly above average but the meal delivery leaves a lot to be desired.
