S.Beautiful on so many levels... fantastic vietnamese food, awesome people serving with generosity and a genuine attention to their customers happiness. Beautiful plants everywhere lovingly grown by Johnny... can't speak highly enough of the experience of having a birthday hosted at Josy.
J.Yummy food and coffee. Very busy cafe in a great location. Only giving it 4 stars as the food was so hot it burnt my mouth. Otherwise lovely.
h.Lovely lovely place in Grey Lynn. I sat in the back corner with all the cosy seats and warm fire. However I thought the outside seating and seating at the front was so beautiful with all the hanging plants, bamboos and peace lillies! Really nice spot to meet friends, go on a date or (as I am doing) sip a coffee and read a book! There is a fair amount of parking as well which was good for me and my van 😁
K.Very cosy atmosphere with extremely friendly staff. Coffee tasted amazing and served hot, and the food was extremely good with a very pocket friendly price point. Would definitely go again if I find myself back in the area

J.Now they opened for dinner!!! And the authentic taste of the Bún Chả brings me right back to the smoky and busy Hanoi bun cha places! If you don't know what that is, American Chef Anthony took Barack Obama out just to dine at a Bun Cha restaurant in Hanoi during his state visit.
M.Wonderful little cafe - the breakfasts are delicious and really good value. From the lunch menu, both the pho and the banh mi are absolute winners - assuming that the rest of the food is as good. Great ambience, friendly staff - all round good stuff.
I.All you can ask of a neighbour cafe. Have been a patron for 30 years. Ownership has changed more than once but the high quality of the food has never varied.

D.A stalwart regular. My goto cafe in grey lynn. Does french toast or a big breakfast get any better? The stand out on the lunch menu has to be the pork belly for me.

Definitely go here at least a couple times you won't regret it.
It's one of Aucklands hidden gems. Highly highly recommend.

Z.Best brunch food I've had in a long time! I had the eggs benedict on potato gratin and it was amazing! The hollaindaise tasted like it had a secret ingredient and the portion size was just right. It was full service with a smile too and I enjoyed being able to sit outside.

V.The corn fritters are good, especially the relish(?) they use. Baked cheesecake is also really good. Nice atmosphere too.

The beef was soo tender, it has the consistency of Wagyu! But I must say... It wasn't as optimal as it could have been. The broth was actually quite bland.
Add more fish sauce, thai basil, garlic, a couple of alfalfa sprouts with some chopped chilli and a squeeze of lemon or lime and you're onto a genuine winner 🏆
Please take this into consideration.... It's hard to find good genuine beefy pho in NZ and I did pay like $24 bucks for it.
Then I'll change the review to 5 stars 🌟
M.Addicted to the Josy Bowl. I add a side of chicken, not because its necessary but because I'm greedy and the Josy chicken is delicious. And Josy Cafe makes, without doubt, the best coffee in all of Auckland.
A.Consistently good service and menu. Enjoy the coffee and scones. Busy at all times of day. Service is so efficient. Space to sit and work or to meet up with a group. Sufficient indoor and outdoor seating. Lovely fireplace indoors. Didn't notice other heating but was lovely and warm indoors on a cool winter day.
N.Wow, an amazing steak with mushroom sauce and chips. Wonderful service too ! Would definitely go back. Will be recommending to all of my friends :)

s.Have been here multiple times in the last weeks and it has always been perfect. Eggs Benedict is my go-to, they use potato gratin instead of bread. The staff is friendly and they remember what coffee I always have. Highly recommended!
S.Good food and coffee - some nice vegetarian and gluten free options too. Went through a revamp about a year ago, and I have to say I preferred the old approach to the food - less fussy, simpler. I'd rather have good fried mashed potato than gratin slices drizzled with balsamic reduction. That said, this is my go-to for breakfast in Grey Lynn.

L.this cafe has been my local for around ten years. has changed owners a few times but the coffee and food have always been good. a good place to meet up, friendly staff, wifi and all the other stuff you'd expect.
T.The restaurant was fully booked today, but despite being under staffed we were served quickly by our friendly waiter. The big breakfast Josy Grill is what we both ordered. They allowed for substitutes to cater for allergies.

E.Yum + Cosy fireplace! We had a great flat white, warm traditional vietamese noodle chicken salad and mince on ciabatta bread. The flavors were amazing. Dishes were full of herbs and spices, delicately balanced and delicious. Great portion sizes. I love the options to suit everyone. Water was served and topped up. Will be back for sure. Also a toy box and highchairs for kids. Plus great customer service from their friendly staff.
A.1st time I've ever had eggs Benedict with potato au gratin instead of bread. Call me unsophisticated ,but gosh was it delicious. My partner and I were impressed. Great staff. Quiet, unobtrusive surroundings. A touch of Grey Lynn magic.

Menu was a bit limited as my first 2 choices were not available however the food my friends and I did order was beautifully presented with great flavours. Definitely some Thai/Asian influences. Service was prompt. Toilets were a major let down as were the bland furishings. Would try again once a full menu is up and running.
