T.Friendly family run cafe offering fresh cooked breakfast and cabinet food and drinks. Ordered eggs Benedict with avocado and ice coffee. It arrived cooked perfectly with cage free eggs, runny yolks and fresh avocado and English muffins. Good portion size and tasted delicious. I was impressed they offered organic home made almond milk and syrups. Scrambled eggs were fluffy and fresh. Lots of outdoor seating available to enjoy summer sun.

E.Lovely cafe with lots of healthy meal options. The iced latte I got today was delicious, the espresso flavour was so much richer than what I repeatedly get at the Starbucks across the road. The vegetarian breakfast muffin and chocolate fudge slice also did not disappoint. Thank you for the friendly and cheery service at the door, but most of all, for choosing not to participate in a system that promotes discrimination and segregation. Hats off to you Leaf and Loaf~
D.A loyal regular here as there are plenty of options and the space is open, sunny, and large enough for a group of us to have a nice work lunch. Really wholesome food with lots of variety; healthy meals, yum salads, and classic brunch options. Lovely staff. Been plenty of times and always a good experience.

A.A Takapuna favourite. Good location with parking nearby - either on the street or a large parking lot a block away. Food always delicious, from breakfast to brunch&lunch, or tea and cakes. Can serve a good egg! Coffee good. Staff friendly, attentive and prompt in serving. Clean conveniences. Located in the main shopping street of Taka so plenty to do in the area.
D.Best toasted veggie ciabatta in town. Highly recommend this place, everything’s quite fresh and the staff is super friendly. I’ll definitely be back.

D.Really lovely cafe . We stopped by here while passing through and had drinks . Their in house coconut milk was delicious the flat white I had and everyone else in our group enjoyed their beverages. Next time will definitely eat here ! The owner Stu is lovely , I ended up having a great chat with him and his daughter and her partner and the girl Bronte who works there are really nice too ! Don’t hesitate to check this place out .

S.Three of us went to the Leaf & Loaf today for a late breakfast. It looked like a nice place from outside. The diverse and interesting menu is chalk on blackboards above the counter inside. There were tables inside and outside, but it's a cool, grey day so we went inside. There are about ten tables ranging from 2 seats to 4 seats as well as a padded bench along the right wall. I ordered a big breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms, two small sausages, half a cooked tomato, some fresh spinach and two big pieces of toast.... With a small pot of butter. My companions ordered some fritters. One substituted bacon for the usual cooked tomato accompaniment.
I asked that milk not be added to my scrambled eggs as it makes them too watery. They use a small amount of cream anyway and the eggs were great. The mushrooms were marinated and delicious. The bacon was a good, solid prob if two decent slices. The breakfast sausages were fairly ordinary wee white things that let the whole dish down a wee bit for me, but your can't win them all. The toast was two large pieces of white sourdough or similar. It was great and I did what I often do and made a nice, big egg and bacon sandwich with it. The butter was spreadable and the bread didn't shred..... So that's a big win. My companions said their fritters were great.
The seats were comfy. One table was uneven and rocked a wee bit. The toilets were clean, though one of the two was out of order. A fun feature was the door lock on the left toilet only worked if you followed the instructions (on the inside of the door) and lifted it slightly using a handle screwed to the door. Presumable, the same approach will work from outside.... Which could be awkward.
The staff were unfailingly pleasant and friendly. When we asked about one item we had ordered, but which haven't been delivered, they checked the bill. And apologised and, as we were about to leave anyway, they put it in a bag and we took it with us.
Overall, it's a nice place. The food is fine. You should be happy. The service was (my) Kiwi Standard: pleasant, helpful and even fun....if sometimes haphazard.

M.Strolling around Takapuna on New Year’s Day and found this cafe which was not charging a 15% surcharge as a lot of places tend to do in NZ on a public holiday.
We were only looking for a snack so got a flat white, a cappuccino and a bacon butty.
The coffees both came with a small piece of chocolate brownie which was a really nice touch.
You can choose tomato sauce or bbq for your butty and it comes out on fresh crispy bread. There was a bit of a wait for the coffee and food but we were in no hurry.
The staff are very friendly here. The cabinet food looked really fresh and the salad selection was amazing. Would be interested to return and try some of these
