Always a great experience when we come here. Food is delicious, huge selection of drinks and amazing service. There’s usually a crowd so book ahead. Given how busy this place is though I’m amazed at how they can keep up with the pace.

Had a fabulous night at Melba with friends. The staff were awesome, great service. Beautiful atmosphere and the food, THE FOOD!!! To die for!!! It is also family friendly, we had about 10 children with us and they also enjoyed their food and were treated very well by staff. Pricing is fair and well worth it. Thank you Melba 😁😁😁

First time here and was so impressed with the menu so choosing was difficult! Luckily there was a group of us and we all got different orders so could taste more!

We attended mother’s day, morning. The food is just above average (nothing super amazing). for the food we had, i’d feel it’s more reasonable to pay a couple dollars less (each). However! the 5x stars is for the customer service. I had to call a few times and each time, the staff were always so pleasant. The waiters were awesome and accomodating. We didn’t have to wait too long for our food. When it was time to pay, againstaff was great (they were different to waiter).

All the dishes were good. Drinks were awesome. Good customer service. Good experience overall.

Cafe with lots of seating available. The chicken + waffles on the menu was better than the beef burger. The beef pattie unfortunately was a bit dry. Did appreciate the generous portions!

Delish as always, for brekkie or lunch. Never much of a wait here even if it’s busy! Nice outdoor seating. The smoothie bowl is sooo yummy with a good ratio of fruit & muesli

Quick and friendly service staff were attentive and the food was delish. I had the fish taco and my partner had the eggs bene with bacon. the Berry Banana smoothie and berrylicous shake were both flavorsome...we will definitely be back.

The food presentation was so nice, and the waitress was very welcoming towards us, and made sure that our food arrived fast. The food was okay, I had the chicken waffle and he had the wagyu burger. The waffle meal was almost too much, very heavy and would be kind of bland tasting without the pickled radish, but it also seems like there was pickled radish on every dish, although that's not always a bad thing. Overall it was a nice experience but I don't think it's a place I would regularly visit.

Ordered slam dunk, steak, buttermilk chicken and garlic pizza.. love the portion and taste! Beautiful ambience and friendly staff.

Usually a busy popular place, abd given they were shirt staff due to covid, they still performed well with service, food quality and presentation.

High ceilings and huge windows lined with succulents make for a beautifully spacious ambiance. Great customer service; speedy and friendly. A good selection of healthy and vegetarian dishes. Anything you order will be delicious. Great for solo visits and groups. A must-visit!!

Glad we booked a table on this busy Sunday lunch hour - the place was packed. Really enjoyed the aesthetic theme and vibe of this place. Food was yum and the portion sizes were perfect. Excellent presentation of the meals, shakes and drinks. Our standout for the visit was definitely the staff though - each one we interacted with (one when we arrived, our server and the guy at the till) were friendly, professional and attentive. Super quick table service even during lunchtime rush. I didn't catch our servers name but she had pink hair. A++, she was amazing. Great place to use up my InKind credit. Will definitely be back.

The staff are very nice, welcoming and cater all our needs. There is a variation on the menu. Food is tasty and delicious. We always use this as a meeting place with friends from Hamilton. There are plenty of parking spaces in front of the restaurant. Will definitely go again.

great experience at Melba Manukau. food was amazing service was on point even though they were really busy on Sunday our food didn't take long to be served especially with 9 of us so we were very happy and will be going back .

Good service! We were greeted at the entrance and were seated right away. They were quick on getting our orders and dishing them out. We got the wagyu burger and chicken waffle, both were nicely presented and tasted even better! Portion size were pretty good too, fills you up just right.

Have always enjoyed comming here for breakfast and brunch. Good food. Staff always friendly, today was no different. Thanx Laura and team for scrumptious banana muffin with my mocha.

First time eating here. Friendly staff, quick service, reasonably priced , good food. Plus I lost my key card, left an email about losing it and got a phone call the next day saying they had it. Extra happy :-)

Didn’t realise Melba did dinner, was pleasantly surprised. The food was great, plenty of flavour and good portions. Steak was cooked exactly as each person ordered. Gluten free options were available however it wasn’t obvious from the menu. Would suggest a key on the menu for the allergens the waitress was helpful in letting me know the options though.

Finally been able to complete a long promised breakfast date with a good friend since we planned to catch up in August. It was great to see the place busy. Wait time was very quick and the staff on point today. I ordered the Avo Smash with bacon. Great dish. My friend ordered the Samlon hash stack. Which was excellent and a massive portion ... coffee was good too.

We received amazing service at Melba, I planned a surprise birthday dinner and with the help of the owner I was able to pull off a stress free night. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional, it flowed throughout the night making it a great experience for everyone. Thank you so much, we will definitely be back for more.

Lovely place, great atmosphere, busy & friendly staff, great for functions obviously book tables ahead of time & very accommodating, food took about 20-30mins considering there were other tables that were booked out for private functions, so it was busy, it was fast service, i would recommend going, even for a nice coffee & to chill its a great place

Had a good brunch here recently. Food was great with a lot of menu options. Staff was friendly and service was good. The atmosphere was cozy and clean. Will come back in the future to try some of the other food.

Very full and busy today, being Mother's day. The Melba team were certainly ready and serve time was amazing! Great service and coffee and food was great!

Expensive but good range of food on display. Busy and staff efficient. Made our coffee too hot though so it was burnt. Pity. Maybe worth another go, we have been there before and it was OK. Don't like stool seating but it's different.

Can't believe it has taken me so long to write a review! Melba is my go to for breakfast and coffee!! Never a bad experience in all the years i've been going here! Team are friendly every time so they must be well looked after :) Food is always divine! Well priced and you get value for money! have tried almost everything on the menu and YUMMM!!!! Great atmosphere, friendly and amazing Service from staff. Ordered the 3 Spice pork belly and the 3 Egg omelet, great portions and beautifully served. I loved it. Would recommend. Since we were a large & a loud group it was nice to get the corner table isolated/private . Thanks Team Melba for the service !

Great ambiance, amazing staff, always leave with wonderful feedback, staff are just lovely. Food is spectacular very recommendable for a lunch date, meeting or just for bunching.

Excellent place, very tidy and organized. Top hospitality, open area has very lively setup with herb garden. The staff are very helpful and food is awesome.

This could have been a 5 star review but fall short in a couple of things. The good: Service is friendly, décor is nice and food portions are plenty, tasty and well priced and presented, we had a halloumi salad, eggs benedicte and mighty mushrooms (very nice) coffees were very good too. The bad: Need to work on a better extractor fan so the venue doesn’t smell like fish when they cook fish & chips The ugly: Toilets, they need to be cleaned more often, we spent a couple of hours there and toilets got worse in that time.

Our favourite cafe restaurant in Manukau! Great for a quick weekend branch or more formal occasions. The staff are always very friendly and food has great consistency. Great for big groups of 8 -10 too. Love the indoor area as well as the outdoor area. The portions are quite generous and may surprise you with the great taste! Weekends can be quite busy but waiting time has always been pretty good. The staff are very attentive.

Everything was as expected from a cafe. Eggs Benedict very tasty and the coffee was great too. The only small thing is that you get the large coffee in a bowl not in a mug. Might be a preference thing but I'd rather have a handle to hold my coffee ;)

Really enjoyed eating out at Melba. Booking a table was really easy through their website. Really good place for work gatherings or any other group gatheringa. They gave us the private room which was awesome. Overall the place is beautiful, heaps of parking, food was delicious. Would definitely come back again.

A very popular breakfast place on the weekend, so either book (if you have a large group) or go early. The section we were in can be closed off if the noise becomes too much. Ran into so many familiar faces. The coffees were amazing - wound up ordering another as the first didn't last long.

Ambiance was good but the breakfast was not as tasty as it used to be. Didn’t get the woah-factor in “Eggs Benedict with Salmon and Spinach”. Even the taste of the coffee was not what it used to be.

Food is very good and service is fast, great combo. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it lacks a but of atmosphere, but the company I was with more than made up for it.

Love Melba’s food and environment!

Great service, yum food! It was easy to book online, and they were quick to confirm. I had the eggs benne with bacon (delish), one of my friends had the chicken salad (so good) and my other friend had the mushrooms and it was divine! Overall - fab lunch out!

Really enjoyed our dishes here. Chicken and waffles were moist and delicious and was our favorite the pork belly was nice and the steak was perfectly cooked medium. Parmesan chips were a great sided dish as well. Nice friendly staff and clean premesis.

Came to Melba with my partner as it was one of the only places opened on Easter Friday. The cafe is beautifully decorated and the staff are friendly. The food was quick and affordable and they offered generous portions.

Was seated fast but forgotten about for some time had to ask to order then waiter just left and didn't come back sent someone else to get our order . Food was good when it arrived coffee was OK. Little over priced for the coffee but over all not bad value . Service could have been alot better .

MELBA’s was delicious! Visited this gem for my birthday and I was very impressed. The maître d was a delete and greeted us with a very friendly smile and good humour nice and early in the morning. The food was delicious, I felt there was something on the menu for everyone. The juice was very fresh and tasty, and the coffee was quality as well. Order was taken promptly and it was only a short wait for food. The Cafe is across the road from a local shopping centre, very convenient to pop across for breakfast or lunch. Would definitely visit this restaurant again.

The place looks really nice, service was good but the food wasn't as good as I thought. Waffle was a bit too soft and cake-like, Big breakfast was a bit small compared to others.

Was flying out and looking for a plate to have lunch, Found this place and was surprised at how packed it was considering it was a Tuesday morning. The service was quite good as was the food. Portions weren't too bad as well as the price. Plenty of parking outside so it is fairly way to stop in for a quick (or slow) meal.

Food came out really fast. Spacious and busy place. Parking available right outside the cafe is great. The list of smoothies and shakes is great.

Easy going cafe with great food and good coffee. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options. The have liquor and accept card, but no paywave. If you get a long black coffee, be sure to ask for a second cup, else the coffee is too hot to hold.

Probably the only decent cafe in Manukau. I have been to Melba 3 times before this, it has always been good. Price is a bit higher but the portion size is decent and very yummy.

I popped in to celebrate a milestone for my son...first day at intermediate school. 😂 So I started with a glass of the Veuve de Vernay. As a meal I had a protein smoothie with the three egg omelette. Pretty impressed with the omelette. I got the chorizo which is extra. There was the right balance of cheese and chorizo that it wasn't a mouthful of salt with every bite. I would rate this as one of the best omelettes I've ever had. This surpasses five star hotel omelettes made in their restaurants. The seasoning was perfect and the texture was light. As for the smoothie, it was definitely something I'd have again. Made with protein powder, almond milk, cashews and dates it was very refreshing. The layout it an open airy modern take on a diner. We happened to be there on a day of a heatwave. Unfortunately one of the shades was inoperable. We sat in stifling heat. Coupled with the spicy 🌶🌶🌶 Harissa chicken pizza, which I had, it was a recipe for overheating. Service was quite good considering we arrived right on midday. The staff were attentive and got to us when they could. The mix of staff to customers was on the money. They were polite and happy to answer any questions offering to grab more water when we had run out. All in all, this is a great cafe with a great vibe. The food is sublime and is made with utmost skill and craft. The chef uses fresh quality ingredients and I would definitely come back to Cafe Melba over any other cafe in Manukau.

Visited Melba Manukau today for lunch, excellent service and delicious food. Staff was caring and asked if AC needed to be turned on. Food was served quickly. Highly recommend and definitely would visit again.

Melba is great. Really accommodating to health/dietary issues. My friend was pregnant, the second time around and they did their best to accommodate her and her eating habits at the time. Their smoothies are delicious, and customer service is great too. It is a popular spot, so do book, or expect to wait. Every-time we've been asked to wait though, it's only been 10 minutes, which isn't long at all. Everything I've had from their menu has been great. The atmosphere and the overall look of Melba is beautifully designed. I'll definitely keep going back.

The food was very yummy but it was so crowded and we had to wait for more than one hour to get our food.

Was able to get a seat straight away. Customer service good, ordered light meal which wasn't too long but bit pricey for a burger and drinks.

All food here was delicious and good portions. Did not offer salads so not the best for the super healthy concious. Lots of space for parking. Absolutely love the detour.

Great staff with nice ambience. The coffee was okay, nothing really to say other than that. Food is nice and inexpensive, unless you add the bacon or spinach etc. then suddenly it becomes relatively expensive for what it is. I would come back again just for a drink or maybe cabinet food.

Amazing place in the centre of Manukau. Such a cool vibe with food that makes you want to live in a cottage and make your own bread and preserved jams. So delicious would come back here in a heart beat.

Very good coffee, the Melba Breakfast was only average for the price and doesn’t compare with the signature breakfast of other cafes.

Had breakfast here a couple weeks ago. Food tastes great and was presented beautifully. I highly recommend the snickers thick shake and Energizer salad.

Situated in it's own building at the back of the mall, large cafe with indoor and covered deck seating of various types to suit all groups. Was busy but efficient, service was very good. All the MELBA chain of cafes run like clockwork from my experience. Had the smashed avo and my son bacon and eggs, food was very good and above average coffee. To be honest this is a great and consistent experience which takes a huge effort and years of experience but I do come away yearning for something different, some excitement, character, it feels like a franchise and I wish it didn't

Always love Melba for Saturday morning breky, can't beat the eggs bene, smashed avocado, chocolate or chicken waffle. One of our favourite places to eat!

I've been to Melba often for breakfast, food and service always top notch. But went in today for dinner, the sirloin steak was overcooked (ordered medium rare) which left me disappointed.

Love thus place for food options nothing bad apart from my friends drink that could've been easily avoided tge first time we wanted it remade other than that the service is top notch loved it 👌

The food is divine. The staff are really attentive and the place is really busy. It’s worth going to anytime you are around Manukau and near the mall.

Off the top of my head I can think of six places in this area that do much better coffee. So don't go if that's your main reason. Two places nearby whose cakes and slices are far superior. But the lunch menu at Melba's is excellent, a real treat in Manukau. It tastes great and is plated up with care and attention. My favourite at the moment is the pork belly pretzel. So good

Good size coffee, we got ours takeaway so as not to rush them. Food selection is from a menu or cabinet with good options for both. We were in for morning tea and had a savoury and sweet both were good.

Stunning food that's very tasty! Staff were amazing, even removed a wasp that had flown inside and was bothering us while we ate, can't rate this place high enough

Had dinner there on Easter Friday. Was not very busy so we got to pick where we sat, which was nice. The person serving us was very accommodating as we asked for the stools to be changed to the chairs which he did happily. The food was great and the atmosphere was relaxing. While we were still eating we were told that the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes and that if we wanted desert we needed to order it then. As I booked my table for 7pm it would have been nice to know that the kitchen would only have been open until 7.30pm. I then would have booked for an earlier time. When we received our deserts, we did not get spoons and so we needed to get them ourselves. I had also ordered another drink, but when I went to the counter to ask about it, the person who had taken my order had forgotten. I also mentioned at the time that we didn’t get spoons. Overall a good night, with a couple of things to be worked on. Would eat there again 😊

Booked online, easy process✔ Plenty of parking available, arrived and was shown our table. Staff were attentive, even though it was nearly a full house for the lunch rush, our food was served quite quickly. Facilities are clean and modern ✔ Food presentation and taste was on point with the menu description✔ 5 spice pork belly - finger linking goodness! ✔ Looking forward to going back and trying something else on the menu 😅

Service is good but just one thing I didn't like the glass cups turned upside on the table , maybe have napkins on table and then put the glass cup on top of napkins. Just an suggestion. But over all enjoyed the meals and lovely service and smiles 😊

The food was really healthy and the service was great. I loved the food and was really happy with the friendly staff always on the go it has a nice outdoor sitting also and it is wonderful and it is also a good place to take kids or just with friends I was very happy with the food and the service.

High quality ingredients and well designed meals. Portions are just enough - wouldn't hurt to be a little more considering meals are between $20-25 range. Would be five stars but I was accidentally overcharged this morning and didn't realise until I got home! and just was hoping for a bit more kid friendly service - my young nephew noticed the crayons by one of the stations. Awesome place for breakfast!

Food was good - we enjoyed chicken and waffles meal and the beef burger (which is described as beef brisket but expect a normal style burger patty, not sliced brisket). Our server was the real star of the show though! I left feedback when we left and the cashier said they receive a lot of feedback regarding this employee as she is X-Air NZ staff. We were table 4 on Sunday afternoon. Thank you for your incredible service!

Great service! Particularly from the manager Nikki! This place serves the BEST eggs Benedict!! I don’t know how they do it but they perfect the egg time and time again! It’s always the perfect consistency and the salmon is always fresh! I also looove their vanilla latte! It’s extremely delicious!

Food was good, coffee was good, milkshakes were great. Overall good place a little pricey though.

LOVE MELBA! The staff are always so friendly! I'm really impressed at their warmth towards young children, providing highchairs & activities without having to ask, and talking to my children directly. Of course the food is delicious too! Still a great airy gathering hall with positive, friendly, efficient service. I think the cheffing though already great is subtly better. It's three Saturdays in a row now that our usual orders have a certain je n'en se quoi taste. Manukau Melba has been my weekend go to and weekly meeting space since it opened except when overseas. Consistently maintained. There's never been an out of service sign in the bathrooms, no graffiti, no smelly floors or tables from dirty mops or washcloths. The staff are genuinely kid friendly without being obtrusive and no judgmental looks questioning 'what are you doing here?'. I know because I deliberately dressed like a crazy vagrant. The greeter looked shocked and uneasy, then fixed his face with a smile and asked 'What can I do for you today? Are you meeting someone?' This is why Melba's my hometown eatery.

Had a great time with a group of ladies. we had a few extra, very welcomed, guested and had enough room around our table to fit two high chairs and a pram. Without requesting a bigger table. I booked in advance which i would suggest if you are wanting to go through on a Saturday morning as it gets very busy. Was happy with the time allocated to us for our booking. You know can’t rush catch ups with amazing ladies. Very satisfied with service and food received!

Family Group of 13 - booked for week day dinner at 6pm. Great table location and timely and attentive service for our rather unruly bunch. Meals arrived in very quick time - all to exact description. Went there for dinner. Service was great and speedy. Food was OK. I had the pork belly with mash and I think I was overwhelmed by all the varying and contrasting flavours. The pork was also cooked OK. But the cheesecake was next level!!! Yum!!! If I had only had the cheesecake this would be a 5. Alas the OK dinner meal brings it more to a 4.5

Have been there a couple of time for brunch. Their service is really nice and quick. They offer a great menu with nice fresh food. Went there today as well after a few months and they have the same amazing vibe. We ordered the Bagel with scrambled egg (it's called SEB in their menu) and a smashed avocado with our coffee. Everything was delicious. Also, their staff is super nice and polite. Love going to Melba .

Great food as usual - and something available for most tastes, from quick snacks to a filling meal. Melba is one of our favourite places to eat and always seems to be busy which is a good indication of its popularity.

First time coming here ordered, open steak sandwich, chicken waffle and pork belly. Chicken waffle was amazing. Steak was nicely cooked medium, pork belly was nice but the mash wasn't my fave. Facilities were clean, and tidy and service was good.

Generally a great place however wouldn't recommend the organic granola for breakfast especially in winter. They serve it with frozen berries which you can imagine is not nice to eat when it's already cold in the morning.

I couldn't fault this place if I tried. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed. Even though it was busy, I still had a table to myself and it wasn't too noisy or crowded. I was waited on promptly and the food... the food was amaaazing and the ginger latte made me so warm and fuzzy. I can see why this place was reccomended to me so here I am passing the torch.

Firstly, great atmosphere, very well laid out with plenty of room space. Service from staff was first class and friendly. And to top, I had the best egg Benedict ever and that's a big call. What ever was sprinkled on top made it that little bit extra nice. Great flavor. Really enjoyed my tropical smoothie. Overall 10/10 rating. Well done for creating a beautiful place to come and enjoy good food. Also great for team meetings as my boss mentioned, we need to have our team meeting here... Well done.

Update: a subsequent visit. Despite closing at 9:30 pm the kitchen closed before 8:15 pm. I thought that was a bit weird. Food is still good, staff still friendly, vibes still great. Great service, made a booking for 10 half an hour before we arrived. The vibes are great, the food portions were smaller than expected but still decent value. Have been to a function there as well and the overall customer service is top notch. Would definitely recommend for brunch or a function.

Wanted to try out the dinner menu with friends. Fantastic service as always, staff were attentive, made great recommendations and meals and drinks were delivered swiftly and easily. Nice casual evening and meals that were affordable and tasty. Enjoyed the chilled vibe and opportunity to support local businesses during difficult times.

We were a work group of 18 that came in for lunch on Friday October 9th. Melba was very busy with a queue waiting to get in. The food and service were absolutely brilliant. The waiting staff were friendly and quick and our orders taken and drinks delivered in quick time. The 18 of us ordered right across the menu and again in double quick time all the meals were delivered at the same time. The food was excellent for all of us whether we be vegan, vegetarian, coeliac or meat eaters. All of us were most impressed. Our congratulations and thanks to all the Melba staff. We would have no hesitation in recommending Melba to anyone looking for quality food and excellent friendly service.

Had a great experience, staff were friendly and enjoying their day which makes for a good atmosphere, the coffee was smooth and well made and the food was very tasty. The decor is well thought out and while being a large cafe it feels warm and cozy.

I had the pleasure of eating at Melba during a very busy Lunch hour on Friday. I was with a group of 18. The speed of service was amazing our meals all came out within minutes from first to last, the staff were friendly and efficient. It still is mind blowing how you achieved this. I didnt like the chicken waffle. The chicken didnt have much favour and it was just watery inside... didnt give a good feeling when i took a bite. But the smoothie bowl was good.

Cool looking place. Was very busy but we were served right away and managed to get a table. Our food also came out very fast considering how packed it was. I bought the chicken waffles, they were very yum and well presented. My son had the kids nutella waffles. Also very yum! The only part that I was abit disappointed about was how small his portion was. It was very tiny for the price, smallest kids portion I have ever had. Great for a toddler but not really filling for a child. Other then that it's a great little spot.

Went on mother's day for breakfast, group of four and the breakfast meal was delicious but the portion was on the small side. We only had 90mins and felt rushed in ordering and eating as it was packed...

Attended for our work Christmas function. My meal was nice but steak eaters unhappy as EVERYONE got their steak rare or med rare. Meals were on table before we even arrived which was a little off...

One of the best cafes of the area, a wide range on the menu; more than just your 'usual bring menu'. Although I would have to say that I have had hit-and-miss experiences with the quality of food, always delicious but when they are busy in the kitchen, it shows. I prefer to visit during 'off peak' times.

Booked the private room for a birthday dinner it was so nice but abit dark in there even though lights were on it was dimmed. food was so yum with reasonable prices loved everything I ordered the place is so nice and modern and clean and the staff are amazing very friendly and welcoming

I have been before but this time wasn't as good. Unfortunately the service was lacking (we had to chase them). Two of our guys had steaks that were lukewarm at best even the butter didn't melt on it. Also 1 of our guys had warm beer so sadly lacking all around this time. So much promise....maybe better next time.

Lovely place in Manukau. Quite vibrant and welcoming. I always go for the chicken and waffles. The Lean Green Smoothie is my go to drink which is quite strange in a good way. I consider this place a staple in Manukau. Definitely recommend this place for anyone who's keen to go for a fancy dinner and not travel too far.

Wait staff are very quick and efficient to clean up any spills or hazards as a customer accidentally knocked over his water spilling all over table and floor. The wait staff were there within moments and saved his laptop. Cool story 😁

Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Unisex toilets with quality hand-wash. Overall, pleasant surroundings and a good experience.

We've just been there today and the melba team was very friendly and welcoming. The food quality and the presentation was excellent. But the $15 fee to bring in your own cake was not justified for my $5 cake. But everything else was great. Thanks team.

Lunch arrived within minutes of us arriving and was absolutely delicious; service was great and the wait staff were very attentive and looked like they enjoyed their job...highly recommended

Great cafe and will definitely be back. The staff could not have been more helpful. Food was good quality with reasonable portions for the price. They were happy for me to work as we ordered our coffees and breakfast. The fact that parking was easy and they open reasonably early was a bonus.

Work breakfast on a Monday morning. Maybe not the best time. Service was good, with attentive helpful staff. Coffee was great. Food? Decidedly ordinary at best. Serving size was OK but the last thing you need for breakfast in early July are cold eggs, colder toast and insipid sausages. I am sure, from the other reviews, they can do much better, but unfortunately we won't be back for breakfast. Coffee was great - did I mention that?

Really great trendy cafe. Wonderful decor and vibe, and is usually reasonably full, which says a lot. Their Thai Beef salad is so so good, and a good portion size as well. Coffee is good and other meals on the menu are tasty, though sometimes on the slightly pricier side if you're looking for a cheaper cafe eat. Would recommend though as I come here often.

The food and customer service was excellent. Huge portion for lunch. Price is slightly on the higher scale. My suggestion would be to serve reduced portion size and price it accordingly as not many people would have an appetite for big lunches. Overall, lovely atmosphere, food and staff with lots of parking spaces around.

Waffle and coffee was very good, the host greeting us probably prevents this from being a higher score. Try to be a little friendlier in future and we might come back again. Remember there are plenty of other lunch places these days in the Manukau area.

The food was well prepared. We had the breakfast burger, salmon hash, fried chicken waffle and Melba grill. The large coffee was really large. I preferred the reg coffee cause I like it strong more than milky.

I have always had great food and service at Melba. However I had organised a group of 15 people for a work function. The organisation was great, the staff were fantastic and gave us the opportunity to pre-order for efficient service. However, our booking was at 12pm and the food had begun to arrive at exactly 12. There were people who were maybe 5 minutes late at the most but the food had already arrived at the table. I was expecting the food to arrive at least at 12:20 at the earliest. It would give the group a chance to settle in and enjoy a drink and the company. It ruined the entire mood as it felt like we were being fed and rushed out the door. I was told we had the table for 2 hours so surely the food could've waited 20 minutes to come out. Having said that though everyone loved the food and the service was good.

Met here for a family lunch gathering, convenient location and very well presented with good atmosphere. Ordered a range off the menu, including kids meals, burgers, pork, all day breakfast etc. All meals came out at the same time which is nice to see and in good time considering the amount of patrons, definately glad we booked. Meals were of a good protion and presentation spot on, unfortunately they didn't please the palette as much as they did they eye. Very friendly staff and accomodating to different dietary requirements.

Had Lunch at Melba with the Pork Belly and a choc milkshake with extras. I enjoyed the food, it was very upmarket. It is a very busy location with lots of traffic in and out and the team seem to handle it well. They also offered a all day breakfast.

This is my preferred cafe in Manukau. Fresh, well presented, consistently high quality food. The decor is beautiful. Love the fresh herb planter boxes and great range of magazines, easy to cypher menu. A little put off by the winter menu choices as I had my fav's in the previous menu. I've always found the staff to be helpful and courteous, although recently sense there may be some tension. Heck, where isn't there tension, it's winter and a lot is expected of cafe staff. My hope is they can ride it out and not let daily grind bring the cafe down. We need good spaces in Manukau. Thanks Melba.

Customer service is great Cost of food for 2 is $45 to $55 Cleanliness is very good, staff is always on to getting the tables clean. Only downside, I ordered breakfast museli with fruits and unfortunately the fruits I had was cut on the same chopping board they use to cut other veges so the kiwi fruit tasted more like an onion...

Had breakfast there yesterday, the eggs benedict was served cold and one Melba Grill where over easy eggs were asked for was sent to the table as sunny side up eggs. We asked the waitress to return to the kitchen for over easy eggs and the kitchen sent her back to us saying they were over easy. They weren't. Sent back again and rather than cook new eggs over easy, they were put under a heat lamp which baked the top of the egg and made them chewy. So we weren't impressed. Don't tell a customer what kind of food they have ordered cause did it occur to you that you could be serving those who work in the hospitality industry? (That's how we know it was put under a heat lamp, chewy fried eggs yummm right?) FYI Melba Cooks: over easy eggs are fried and then flipped in the pan then flipped again and put on the plate to serve. The objective is to cook the top of the yolk but still serve a runny egg. The only redeeming factor was the hostess who seated us was lovely as was the waitress.

First time visitor today. Loved the food, coffee, service and decor. Some feedback - maybe on extremely windy days like today, you could not use those 3 tables that are right in front of the door? The door was slamming, despite your staffs efforts to stop it. Every time the door opened which was often, a huge amount of wind blew in. Serviettes and things on the table blew off. It made for a really unpleasant visit and we left earlier than we wanted to. You were busy, but it might be worth not using those tables on days like today. I wouldn't sit there again, and will wait for another table to become free next time.

Food a little on th pricey side of things. it is a busy place which probably means they are doing something right. Had the beef brisket burger. Didn't like the pickles but I think that's just me. Took them out and the burger was only mediocre. Would still give it another go to taste other food on th menu.

Went for breakfast with my partner, great building and lovely seating arrangment. Coffee was ok but not anything to boast. Menu looks nice but execution when it arrived was lacking. The poached eggs over cooked and tasted purely of vinegar, and described as a 'house hash' but actually a potato croquet. Tasted great but wrong description. Overall not bad but needs some fine tuning to make it great.

Our group had bacon and eggs, the Melba grill and S.E.B, all was yummy. Service was very good considering how busy they were (Mothers Day), very pleasant staff a credit to Melba. Will be back as I want to try there cabinet food which looked devine.

Based on my one experience at Melba Manukau, I really liked it. I had the salmon & kumara breakfast mash stack and a rasberry iced tea and it was delicious, will definately be back again. Nice clean & modern decor, chill atmosphere.

It's been the same food for at least 2 years, service has improved but still needs a revamped menu. Good if you've never been before. Milkshakes are the highlight.

Friendly service, nice food, fairly quick, and standard pricing for Auckland. Easy parking options although there are a lot of people and some time limits.

Nicely presented 'hipster' style cafe/restaurant. All the typical decor like exposed wood and highly inefficient dim globes hanging low give this a very charming atmosphere. Food is of a high quality and reasonably priced. I'll be back for sure.

Really love the ambiance of the plqce and the food, its just sometimes my meal was a little bit too done.. happened twice already that my egg was not watery. Not really complaining because it did seem busy but yea 😊 would recommend still

I come to Melba regularly. Food, drinks and service are consistently high quality. They make food that looks and tastes great in a clean and open environment. Dont hesitate to give this place a go!

My first time at Melba for dinner and to be honest, I was disappointed, maybe in the manner of our waiter or the portion of our food. I guess both but lets not be too critical, the service was fast.

Based on today's experience I would rate in 1star because the food was below average today but overall this is my fav place and they have great food ,good service friendly staff.best chicken waffle ..iv been going to this place for almost 2 years now.there serving size has been downsized than before but taste remains the same :)

Came here first time for breakfast, interior nicely designed, great atmosphere. Friendly staffs & services. It's nice to see a café of this standard in south Auckland, no wonder it's always busy here. Will come back here to try other items on their menu!

I had the pan-fried salmon with pumpkin, brussel sprouts, and miso sauce this morning and it was absolutely delish - the plate itself was as pretty as a picture and it tasted as good as it looked! I was pleasantly surprised when I was served the best cafe meal I've had in a loooooong time. The service was also excellent, as was my coffee. Thank you so much!

Very lovely place for brunch. The wooden interior make the atmosphere warm and bright. The servers are friendly and helpful. The food is very decent on its look and taste.

great atmosphere and fast service! i think the prices are a lil steep for the quality of the food (prolly won't make a difference lmaoo THEY GETTING COINNNN), and having multiple servers was a lil confusing 😅 but other than that, it's decent.

Definitely a place I would go back with my family. Amazing food and coffee. The toilet is not easy to use with direction the door opens. It was not easy taking my three old active boy in there.

Fantastic array of food. I’ve tried a good number of them over quite a few visits we’ve made, all excellent! Great friendly staff.

Loved it. Nice pizzas, big range of drinks, desserts, and extremely friendly staff. I recommend Melba's. Close to the Farmers carpark and also has a generous carpark of its own.

Loved the atmosphere here, staff are really friendly. Not many vegan options (just a heads up) but other than that - excellent place! :)

I honestly love this place, i just started going there last month and omg i love it. they make the besf coffees and the food is to die for. i go everymorning for coffee and 3 times a week for either breakfast or lunch.

We turned up to MElBA manukau on a Saturday morning without a booking and needing a table of 14. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Service, food, atmosphere was excellent.. We will definitely be going back to MELBA..

Super friendly staff, food came really quickly and was so delicious! Big portions so really felt like value for money.

Food was fine but the service was rediculous. I walked in. Stood by the wait to be seated here sign and 6 people went pass me without even greeting me. Just a little "someone will be right with you" could have helped. After I was finally seated no one came to the table for 15 minutes. I had my menu down and tried to catch sombodys eye but it didn't work.
