Good food, and large portion. Egg Benny has an interesting combination of pork hock and apple, and potato gratin was well executed👍🏻. 70% dark chocolate shake is super delicious😋, the best chocolate shake that we have had so far. Staffs are lovely.

Beautiful café with lovely staff. Thank you for accomodating our request today if we could have the vermicelli noodle salad before 10am. The coffee was delicious and the noodle salad was fresh. I liked how they had the sauce on the side so you can put as much or as little as you want.

Me and my friends we love this cafe for 3 years now! Still good as usual! Every time she wants burgers, always RAD! But my favorite is beef pho the dry one maybe I will try the soup one day. The owner and service group are soo nice too ~ highly recommended!

Big portions, good flavor, worth the price! I added a side of avo to my omelette expecting the dish not to be enough food to fill me but I didn’t need it. The sourdough toast and the tomato relish were both SO good.

Rad's food and coffee are delicious and their staff are friendly. In addition to the traditional kiwi breakfast, they also serve some food with a Vietnamese twist, which is great. The food was served very quickly and I will definitely visit again.

RAD is the best café in Mt Eden village. Great menu with a blend of tradional kiwi brunch fare and Asian inspired food. Excellent coffee and really good service. Love the rose water they give you too.

Best eggs benny I've ever had! The pork hock and apple is very different to a traditional one, but it goes together so perfectly! And the black stack burger is ridiculously good!! They crispy pork belly is definitely the star but not overpowering! 110% would recommend

Delicious food. Breakfast options are awesome. It's a busy cafe, you might have to wait for a table but its worth the wait. Staff is very courteous. Our experience here was extra ordinary. Decent parking available around the shops.

First time at Rad, and the food is amazing! Its Sunday afternoon and the cafe is bustling with people and staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu is full of attractive options. I had the Beef Lemon Grass Noodles.

Warm atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. My omelette was delicious and generously portioned, and I appreciated having a full and diverse menu to choose from. The Rocket Coffee was well made too. Will be back!

Great coffee (they have coconut, soy and oat as milk alternatives) and a nice piece of lemon cake to go with it. Plenty of room. Pity Mount Eden such a dangerous place for cycling to and through. Great café for a stop though for sure!

Unfortunatley the coffee wasn’t my cup of tea Too sour and fruity for me(Long black) But food was nice(eggs beny, polenta) I would definitely come back for more “Almond croissants”.

Environment: 4/5 Coffee: 4/5 Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Their coffee is quite nice, i had a chicken burger and my friend had a deep fried prawn and calamari salad, the salad was nice and the dressing has a bit of heat, the prawn and calamari were very fresh, not oily, the burger was bit average, the fried chicken was dry, but the burger bun was nice and soft, also it's pink colour.. Bathroom needs a clean, not very tidy.. Not many wow options there for the lunch menu, n it's bit expensive

Super friendly service, complimentary coconut sugar, complimentary chilled T2 tea. But as much as I wanted to love this place, the flavours just weren't very tasty. The Banh Mi had a generous serving of tasty grilled pork, but not quite enough pickled carrot/cucumber or coriander for an authentic flavour. The bread was adequate, but wasn't quite the crispy crusty fluffy fresh Vietnamese baguette it could have been. The 70% dark chocolate shake was okay, but for $8 seemed a little lacking - it wasn't as rich or chocolatey as the description might suggest. The ribs came in quite a large serving and were okay, but again just not very delicious. When we ordered, our super friendly server commented that the Banh Mi and the Ribs were the tastiest things on the menu... so that was a little disappointing. Might be back to try something else though :)

I highly recommend rad cafe. Friendly team, great food, a must try is the smoked kahawai super duper!!! The coffee is hands down the best in the area!!!

Great staff that always seem to be happy. Food quickly comes to the table once ordered and their coffee is great. Have been here twice and both times the food was good. I would recommend their bahn mi and banana shake.

Terrific people, asked at 6:30am for waffles for my nieces 4th birthday takeaway as the family is self isolating and birthday plans were all canceled. The waffles I here were not just a work of art but was delish too. 4 year olds comment on the smoothie "this is better yours Mum". Thank you for making her feel special 💓

Best coffee in the village! Rad is exactly as it says in the name... Rad. The staff are great, patient, understanding, and really good at what they do. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and a nice place to spend some time. The food is very tasty and fresh with some twists on the regular cafe menu. Always enjoy my visit here. Does get busy on the weekend, but during the week days you can often get a seat with no trouble.

What an amazing find! Staff were fantastic- quick to appear when they sensed you needed them without constantly 'hovering'. The food was superb! Great range and for those coeliac (gluten free) like myself there were plenty of tasty options! Add in really reasonable prices and you're onto a winner coming here! And I must remember to take photos of meals!!

Love Rad cafe it's one of my local cafes, they always have top service and great food. I mean these dudes have been around for awhile they ain't rookies they know you want the yum food and the strong coffee. Also last time I was there my baby tipped my drink all over me, and they gave me a new drink free of charge I wasn't even expecting it! Amazing 👌👌👌👌

Greeted with a smile and given menus Sat at a table near the kitchen. ♿🚻 what an impressive menu choices creative meals. The super duper breakfast which is the smoked Kahawi hash egg .. Staff were polite and courteous Explained which meals were popular. Table seating outdoors if you like. Clean and tidy place

We went to this cafe based on its Google reviews and we were really disappointed. Coffee was so normal, in fact I didn't like the milk they used in their flat white. Food was average. Big breakfast came with no bread but heaaaaps of baked potato and poached egg came with a super chunky slice of bread which was hard to cut. Our half full coffees mugs were taken from our table without even asking! We didn't even notice! Kitchen is in a closed door area but still you can smell food inside.

The menu is very diverse , there is something to try for everyone . I had black burger which is pork belly with crispy skin in the black burger buns!!! Bummmm heaven on earth. Staff are very friendly, service is great and fast. Coffee is beautiful. and it's a nice and cosy place to eat. Handy location in the heart of mt eden.

Quite simply the best mushrooms in town. I had been craving these bad boys while overseas for 2 years and they are just as good as I remember! You won't be disappointed.

I really loved it here. Their coffee is truly unmatched (I've only ordered an Americano). I saw a customer there who I truly hate with all my soul; but that's not the fault of the café. Go there.

I went there because I was recommended by a friend. The coffee is dark roasted and bitter. I didn't eat anything this time, but some of the cabinet foods look delicious, so I want to try next time.

I have given some cafe 5 stars for coffee so this 5 star for RAD doesn't do it justice. The coffee is unlike any other, it is EXCEPTIONAL. I should downgrade other great coffees to 3 star out of 10 and give RAD 10 stars if I could.

Outstanding food options - not the usual Auckland 'same old eggs Benny' menu. Service is superb. Every staff member was friendly and high standard. Great venue and location.

Really great quality coffee and super friendly baristas. One of the few places I've found in NZ that does pour over coffee (which is big in the US). Leo clearly respects good coffee and gave me an amazing list of other pour over/good coffee spots in New Zealand. I went to Rad on two occasions towards the end of the day and both times received a free end-of-day pasty. Free wifi. Great neighborhood vibe.

F’ing good coffee Vietnamese-Kiwi cafe with a Star Wars there. Nuff said. Superb coffee and Bahn Mi. A hipster hangout with exposed brickwork and too-cool-for-school staff. Strongly recommend a visit, but be ready to queue!

Been here many times, really enjoyed the food and coffee. However, they recently change their coffee beans, so it tastes too sour to me. Might come back later if they could change it back to the normal one.

Big fan of the Rad Cafe. Great service, nice atmosphere, top notch coffee, amazing food. I like that they do their own style of food. I think a Vietnamese influence that makes this quite unique. My girlfriend loves the raw cake and I absolutely love their black burger which is a crispy pork belly with Viet style greens in the squid ink dyed soft bun... Served with fries this wins everytime. The mushrooms are also amazing and actually everything on the menu is worth a try. They serve water laced with some kind of elderflower or green tea which is a nice touch. I miss the Lego table numbers though!

Coffee is the best I've had in a long long time. The banh mi rolls are delicious. Only negative is lots of people have heard how good it is here and so it is always busy and therefore difficult to get a seat.

We usually go here for breakfast. The food is really delicious and enjoyable. Usually it is very busy and you have to wait on average 20-25 mins to be seated. The seating space is limited. Staff is well trained. It is more of 3.5 than 4. Sometimes it can get too over crowded.

I came here for the first time sometime earlier this year, and instantly fell in love with Rina-san's coffee. Rina, the Barista, makes some amazing refreshing coffee, and served with a warmth and smile, which you can feel in the aroma of her coffee. I now see myself visiting here more often, just to sip Rina-san's coffee. This review was written on a stopover at RAD cafe, enroute to Mt Roskill.

Nice café - coffee was good. Wasn't too impressed by food selection but what they do offer is very well made. It's tough being a café in Mt Eden given the established cafés that have been here for years are so good. Still, nice to see a café at the northern end of the village.

I love RAD! Their staff are very knowledgeable about what I can eat there, given that I'm Coeliac, and I've never been sick from it. Their greengasm salad is my favourite! RAD is my go-to place to take other people in Mt Eden and it's a hit with everyone from hipster foodies to my mum. Particularly love the green tea infused water they serve.

Very busy, but we got a table without much wait. Friendly staff, prompt service, no problem to order off breakfast menu when it was technically 15 past cutoff time, very good coffee.

I love this cafe madly. I will often take a detour through Mt Eden just to visit here. I love their early opening hours and easy on-street parking. This is my favourite coffee in Auckland. The baristas are Wellington-cool. (This is actually the only cafe in Auckland I'd recommend to a Wellingtonian). The conversations are hilarious. I love seeing Mt Eden women on their early-morning dog walk or run stopping in for a coffee. I love that dogs can get a bowl of water too! The coffee is strong and fruity and delicious. The coffee is overpriced though.

Stunning stunning service ! Staff here rock! Food rocks. My favourite is the Vietnamese Roll. Also complimentary lightly flavoured water or tea. Go here - You won't be disappointed.

Great food, people and service. Their version of French toast is awesome and their spin on eggs bene is impressive. Great coffee as well, tick, tick, tick.

If you're in need of a great coffee go here. Their rolls are pretty good too - we had the fish and the vege ones which were yum. Only downside is the coffee price. We've been living in Sydney where a fw is $3.50AUD but here it's $4.40NZD (about 40-50c more)

Mr Krabs Nori Taco really is 100% epic. Sticky rice wasn't sticky rice (glutinous) but it was still nice. Loved the octopus donuts and the salt slab cured kingfish was tasty.

My friend & I shared the mushroom dish and the super duper kahawai & green peas dish sui that we could try them. Both were great healthy options along with our capuccino & tea. Loved the food, but did not like how noisy the place is. There is no greenery or acoustic panels to diminish the sounds of the wood & brick space.
