Reviews of Shaky Isles Coffee Co.
K.
It was average. The Chai latte was very sweet. They missed one Flat white for us. I do like the atmosphere - bit artsy and casual. The price is however high for students.

I usually go to Strata when I'm on campus but every now and then I'll switch it up... The vibe of this place is not bad, but the food and coffee were ok but a bit pricey for students... There were some tiny bugs flying around near the counter when I went which was weird. See photo for the abstract latte art. Bit of a noisy study spot but good for meeting people.

YOU ARE LEAVING REVIEW ON THE WRONG CAFE! Its in Auckland New Zealand, where we are in lockdown level 4 coming down to 3, and still closed as University of Auckland is closed for at least another two weeks! PLEASE REMOVE THE REVIEWS as these reviews DO hurt the business! ALL PEOPLE ARE WELCOMED IN BUSINESSES REGARDLESS OF THEIR VACCINE STATUS!

Not a whole lot of food options but a nice and quaint place to eat and chill.

A pleasantly located cafe in a sunken courtyard by Symonds St. Clean, with good lighting and only slightly crowded tables. The staff are polite and pleasant and take care to get orders right. The food is OK: fresh with and generous servings of a generic cafe menu. But why, for example, throw some kind of BBQ (??) sauce on top of the bechemel on top of eggs benedict? And yet another cafe in Auckland that carefully makes its coffees but leaves tea drinkers with a tea bag.
All up, if you're hungry and on a campus with pretty blah lunch places, this is probably a better choice than most of the others. But not worth making a trip

Lovely staff and great coffee. Cool vibe, great place to meet up with friends or colleagues.

I love the atmosphere and the music selection. The unit's wifi works here so it's the perfect spot to study and work. Great coffee.

Totally rate this place, good food, great location for uni students, plenty of seating, average prices.

A little bit tired now (understandably) but still serving great coffee in a vibrant, trendy setting. Especially nice during off-peak times of the year when it’s not super busy. Can’t comment much for the food though.

It's a nice Cafe but it is quite pricy. They do have vegeterian options available, but can't be guaranteed as most of their food is cabinet food.

Lovely staff and great coffee. Cool vibe, great place to meet up with friends or colleagues.

Such a good place to eat or get coffee. Portion sizes have gone downhill substantially since my last visit though. In saying that all 5 fries I got with my massive chicken burger were super good!
J.
What a shame I can't give 6 stars! This is the University's flagship quality café, which is matched by a really groovey interior design and beyond friendly service. Whether you're landing a billion dollar deal or taking someone on a date, shaky isles is the place to go.

The BEST eggs benedict I have ever shoved in my mouf! and they don't skimp on the bacon 😍
R.
I had a good old fashioned milkshake there.... Good friendly service, will be back
A.
Very friendly, welcoming staff. Food good but mighty expensive.
T.
Beautiful fit out and great coffee to. I nearly had a heart attack from the child brew. Didn't eat here but from what I see it looked good.
A.
Service can be average due to understaffing which sucks but I always have a great time here!
P.
Best sit down coffee place on campus. Pricey pastry. The affogato here is a win.
P.
Food is good. Just need to open a little earlier for me to be able to get breakfast before 8am
M.
Lovely, if pricey, cafe. You're not going to find bargains here, except for their Budgie meal. The portion for the Budgie isn't very big, but it's big enough to be filling. Tasted decent. I've also had their piccolo and manuka mint tea, and both have been pretty good. It gets really crowded and quite loud here, so not the best atmosphere to study in. Their decorations are top-notch though.
G.
it's a nice place but they are toooooo slow
A.
Their coffee is not too bad though often is a bit too hot, and the food was ok. Staff members are quite friendly and efficient though most of the time aren't interested to have a chat. Also have a coffee kiosk at the engineering building that can be quite handy especially to get your morning fix; however, during the semester breaks, the kiosk will open 1-hour late and close an hour early.

Day 1: Best as granola - mango sorbet n coconut yoghurt = genius. Day 2: Ordered a milkshake (presumably the specialty here) and only 2 of 5 flavors available = super huge fail.
C.
Pricey, take too long to take your order and they are just generally very inefficient.
A.
Had the Bulletproof coffee today and it was the most amazing coffee I have ever had in my life.
A.
Lovely little cafe by the library, where you can fool yourself into believing that you live the life of a flaneur - deadlines, credits - you're above all that. While the cafe isn't exactly expensive, the portions served from their displayed food counter is not particularly value for money. Grabbing a coffee on the go or sitting down with a beer/hot chocolate while you read a book or send yet ANOTHER email to an employer may be a wiser choice. Come for the lush ambience, the soft music, and the happy faces at the counter - you'll be glad you did when you spend yet another all-nighter and question your life decisions later.
A.
One of the best places in uni to grab a friend or a coffee and chill out for some time. 😁
T.
Sweet Chai Latte is pretty average.
A.
Chill place to hang out. Music is always a bit too loud—bring noise cancelling headphones.
T.
Crumbed Eggs O.M.G! Great coffee too and service to match. Highly recommended!
