Nice cafe with good views. Very friendly staff and good food. Quite busy place during the weekends.

Excellent service, dog friendly for outdoor seating. You can also buy food the cabinet which is $8-$12 if you are after paninis or a smaller lunch and still sit down.

Lovely cafe with beautiful setting. I was there with a friend for brunch. Their Crushed Avocado was absolutely yummy. The poached egg was very well done to my liking. We decided to share the plate and it came to our table in two separate plates, wonderfully decorated as if we had ordered two dishes. Those who attended our table were very friendly and helpful. It was my very first time there but didn't feel like that. Being a sunny hot day, I ordered iced chocolate which was somehow different from what I expected where I thought I would get a chocolaty drink but it was a small jar of plain milk plus a bowl of vanilla icecream covered with a layer of chocolate which was absolutely delicious. Thanks for the good experience. I'll certainly will be back.

We had breakfast here on a busy Saturday morning! Nice ambience.. Tasty food and friendly staff.. Nice place overall Loved Eggs benedict and Mango coconut smoothie.. yum!👌🏻

Amazing coffee and location, and staff were incredibly observant and prompt - however I found the food a bit plain for the high prices. My eggs bene with salmon consisted of only two colors (orange salmon, white potato, orange/white egg), and the result tasted a little heavy/rich. A splash of wilted greens or even a basil drizzle would have brightened the overall effect, possibly without much effort/cost added (though I'm aware we're post pandemic and still recovering). Would go back for the lovely service and good coffee, but would be reluctant to pay for food...

Best brunch place in takapuna. You can enjoy the beach view and feel the breeze while having meal there. I have ordered egg Benedict with smoked salmon on the top. If you are looking for a quick and satisfying breakfast or brunch. Just go there. Btw, this café is a good place for bloggers 😉

Very pleasent place to sit and enjoy the beach view, Staff are attentive and friendly. I can't say I've been impressed by the drinks the few times I've been here, they're pricey and pretty average. However the setting definitely makes up for it

Good food, great location but a bit more expensive comparing with the food portions.

It was a very lively place, crowded and filled with people. The service staff was extremely friendly and offered us blankets to the customers seated outside. Which I thought was a nice touch. The food was good. Most of us had the fish and chips or beef burger. The fish and chips was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The coffee was not bad too. We had the pastries for dessert which was good too! Would recommend visiting if you have the time :)

This stylish and welcoming cafe ticks every box. Genuine and lovely, attentive staff who stop by your table for a chat and offer fantastic service. Delicious food with a varied selection to chose from including gorgeous cakes, fresh juices and great coffee. Plus they’re dog friendly, making our pooch feel welcome with a dog biscuit and fresh water. Wonderful experience both days we visited. Oh and nice views! Can’t recommend enough. Well done - you guys absolutely nailed it.

I only stopped in to buy some ice cream and it was really nice, being reasonably priced. The service was quick amd everything looked clean. There was seating available in and outside and it's right by Takapuna beach and the beach carpark

Wow great site. Very engaged staff and our food was excellent. Will bring friends back for more. Almond milk made onsite. The gelato blocks are also popular from the queue. Didnt try one this time.

The store is located beside the cafe and it was busy the whole time I was there. It looked like they had cabinet food, ice cream and coffee for those wanting to grab something on the go. I went to the cafe to have afternoon tea. It wasn't too busy so I was able to grab a table on the deck outside. It was quite nice with the breeze and the views of the beach. I got water and menus after finding a seat. It didn't take long to get someone to take my order. I tried the roulade cake from the store as well as an iced caramel. I quite liked the ice caramel. The caramel was salted just the right amount so it was sweet and salty at the same time. The hazelnut and chocolate roulade was ok. The sponge itself was a bit dry and hard to eat. Having it with the cream inside made it taste nicer and it was a lot more enjoyable. The food menu was quite interesting but the breakfast items were only available until 1500. The nice location and food makes it a nice place to grab some food.

A hearty brunch with a great view of the beach. Extremely busy in the morning, but service was phenomenal from a friendly group of staff. I asked for salmon and mushrooms with my bene, but had included bacon anyway, which was all but good for my calorie counter. Overall, it is on the (very) high end of the price scale for breakfast and the food is pleasant, portion sizes are large and the quality of ingredients are fresh.

A dog friendly cafe! Gave my little best friend a dog treat and a dog blanket as it was quite cloudy and cold. The service was actually impeccable, fast and reliable service, and the food came out in record time! The eggs bene, classically good with a great hollandaise sauce. The beef ragu was also delicious, and there was a hint of an Asian taste. They also have blankets for the customers who were seated outside which was a nice touch!

An excellent experience while enjoying my conversation with my best friend along the beach. The salmon was cooked well and the beef burger served as juicy and tasty. However, the bread was over toasted and even hard to chew😅 Overall the view, food and service were great 👍🏻 If you want to have relaxing time and later walk along the sea, this cage should be your destination/ starting point.

The atmosphere was amazing and I loved the view. The cafe was very clean. The waitress and waiters were committed to great service and were very friendly. I loved and enjoyed every food and I highly recommend honey smoothie. Also, the salted caramel gelato was a bit salty but it was great.

Nice relaxing spot for an early dinner, good beef burger and excellent crumbed fish and chips. The views would have to be one of the best in Takapuna.

A nice spot to catch up with friends Good basic modern New Zealand classics, and a great view of the beach if you can get an outdoors seat. Lots of vegetarian options available and dog-friendly. Plus, their iced chocolates come deconstructed which is fun. The gelato line is long, but we thought it was worth the wait.

It was my first coffee place in New Zealand, I went there right away when I arrived in 2012. I still remember the amazing salmon eggs Benedicts they have. I do remember accommodated little doggies with their plates. Cute. Nice memories. I love healthy food in New Zealand.

Above all, I think the atmosphere and food go well together. The interior is outstanding, and all the employees are nice and kind. Above all, the food was delicious. If I visit this area again, I will visit again🤎

Very nice outdoors seating area with a nice view of the beach. Good service but finding parking can be a bit challenging there.

Ordered the French Toast with Bacon, plus a Gypsy Kombucha. Really enjoyed the flavours of their breakfast. The only thing I didn't like was their orange shards. They were a little thick which kind of ruined the dish whenever it camouflaged itself with the berry compote. Service staff was also very friendly and welcoming. Most of them tried to keep a smile on their face, while one of them was frowning the entire time. I understand it may be that he had a lot to do while in the busy service, but compared to the other staff who smile often, it's a big difference. Ambience wise, was really comfortable. Doors are open to the beach, plenty of shade from the sun. Plenty of seating, in a open space. No squeezing required. They also have pastries and gelato, but I'll save those for another time.

Great location and it gets busy most weekday mornings as a result. The tea is really nice, which was a surprise. Menu items are on the pricey side, but the cabinet food sufficed for a snack. Seems to be a hot spot for young mums - there are always a ton of prams out front and babies inside!

One of the best and most popular cafes on the Shore.Usually full but one is handed a lobster that buzzes when a table is available.Great atmosphere and efficient.It helps that the veiw over Takapuna Beach is pretty special.Normally a walk to the far cove and return 'allows ' one to have a small cake or meal if so desired.But don't come all at once!😊🎄🤸

The coffee was decent and didn't take too long to arrive, even though the place was fully packed. The food was also great. Decent portion sizes and the quality was of a pretty high standard. The eggs were poached perfectly and over all didn't have much to complain about, except for the fact that my toast was more bread than toast. The atmosphere of the place was relaxed and clean. Had a modern beach house vibe to it. Service was good and I didn't feel annoyed or invaded. Felt quite natural and were around to notice when I was ready to order, or my plate needed clearing and even when my drinks were low/empty. The place seems to be busy often and we had to wait, however we waited a no more than 10min tops. Overall great experience and would recommend.

Busy, humming cafe, right by the water with great views of Takapuna beach. You can sit inside or out. Coffee is great and hot. Food well presented. The lamb was really tender and went well with the yoghurt, cucumber and flatbread. The scampi was juicy and plump, a real point of difference for egg lovers. If you’re still hungry, you can order dessert to have at the restaurant, or just pop next door to the adjoining shop, The Store, and pick up a delicious pastry or a gelato in a cone! The salted caramel gelato is amazing!

I'm a man of plans.. whenever I go for holiday, although free & easy.. I've got to have an itinerary. I felt lost without knowing what to do for the day, to some extent my wife complained (in a friendly way) that I'm too meticulous. So we were back to Auckland for a night stay after spending one whole day covering northern Auckland area. I'll skip the whole accommodation drama which was unsatisfactory so the next morning upon checkout, only a good breakfast could uplift my mood and uplift my mood it did! Since I didn't want to stay in downtown Auckland, I chose Takapuna which is a vibrant beach side area about 10 minutes drive from Auckland. It also houses a lot of nice restaurants, bars and cafes. This time I chose Takapuna Beach Cafe which is located on The Promenade directly next to the beach itself. ◾Reservation is recommended especially on weekends because it is wildly popular with the locals. It can be done through their website. ◾We chose to be seated indoor because it was winter and the kids were shivering. ◾The cafe exudes this kind of cosy atmosphere with attentive and friendly service team. ◾ Omelette with broccoli, spinach and stracciatella - it has the runny texture which I like. ◾Eggs Benedict with slab bacon - lovely hollandaise sauce poured in top of the poached egg with a thick slab of bacon on the side ◾l went for broke and ordered their "The Grill" which comprises of pulled pork shoulder, thick slab bacon, crispy agria rosti, poached eggs, borlotti beans and pain cereal with extra chorizo. ◾Nothing a good cuppa latte wouldn't do to kick start my day as I have a long journey down south (about 3 hours) later. I wish that I have more time to spend in this cafe but we had to catch up with our tour elsewhere. The lunch menu looks promising too.. perhaps on my next visit to NZ.

The Takapuna Beach Cafe is my favorite best place to go for afternoon tea and to get a Coffee when I am staying in the Takapuna Beach Holiday Park when I have a holiday at Takapuna every summer, and they provide excellent service and it is situated at the same address as Takapuna Beach Holiday Park where I'm staying, every summer when I have a holiday at Takapuna.

This is our favourite local spot to go to. Great location and the food is consistently good. Cheers to all the team there!

A stunning location with excellent food. The place was amazingly busy and the staff and service was still brilliant. My only thought was it would be great if it was licenced. The smoothy I enjoyed certainly made up for that though.

Both ordered scampi, the one with pasta was great, and the other one is folded egg, which is lighter but still very tasty. price here has gone up compared to other cafes, and it is still super busy. Also a Dog friendly place.

Great view nice atmosphere had a coffee and banana milk ice cream on a perfect beach day and it was awesome

Amazing service over level 3, stayed very calm and professional when faced with multiple ignorant people ignoring the mask mandate. They truly care about keeping us safe and are doing a great job in these tough times.

From the moment we walked in to this beautiful cafe by the sea you couldn't help but love the view! The service was amazing. The friendliest waiter who made you feel at home, which the way he greeted people you could see for some it was a 2nd home. The food was incredible! We had smashed avo with added potatoe Rostie which alone I would go back for! Add a morning coffee yum! All over beautiful cafe, amazing food and service plus Dog friendly which just added to the happiness ❤

Enjoying light meals late afternoon after some beach walk. Nicely located near to the boat landing. Ordered the ice cream and it is so smooth and nice. Also ordered the fries, found it so nice. Service is just okay. The view is nice since it is overlooking Takapuna beach. Can be very crowd, so please just be patience. Recommended and will come back.

The hot chocolate was nice and demure, not the strong cocoa taste but nice anyway. I liked the chocolate tasting marshmallow too.

Service was great and very attentive. The hot chocolates were fun as I didn't realise they were deconstructed! The haloumi entre was seasoned perfectly and so so delicious. The fish skewers were also very yum!

The cafe is very pristine and has a gorgeous view. It was extremely busy although I did manage to get a window seat without booking. A lot of waiting staff running around but it still took over an hour for me to get my food and all iI ordered was poached eggs on toast and a "medley" of mushrooms. Unfortunately I had to wave down a server and remind her what I had ordered. She went and checked and said food was on the way but I knew full well my order had been misplaced. It wasn't until I went to pay that I received an apology for the delay. As for the food...the medley of mushrooms was simply a large spoonful of fried mushrooms and I got 1 piece of ciabatta with 2 poached eggs on the side and a small hot chocolate. This came to $24.50. Overpriced for what it was I thought. So sadly even though the view was nice I left disappointed and won' t be back

Probably the best Sunday morning brekkie place on the shore! Loved the French toast - who knew fresh Feijoas make a great garnish? Also, the Apple & Thyme soda was a refreshing alternative to OJ. Highly recommended. More so if you like sitting next to the beach while you enjoy your first meal of the day. Loved it.

My friend and I come here every Friday morning with our kids (2 prams). We are always warmly greeted and the prams/kids are never a nuisance. Chris in particular is just amazing! So friendly and fun, yet professional still. Yes the location is amazing but the staff really make it a great spot to visit!

Great cafe! The bakery close by can serve their bakery items to your table at an extra charge. Or you can take away from the bakery. The croissant from the bakery is a solid 10/10 - make sure to get it heated up!

Amazing place with wonderful food. Ice cream just out of this world! Nice walk along the coast, bit tricky in places, not suitable for prams, wheelchairs, small children etc.

Amazing location on the beach. The Full English Breakfast(FEB) that they serve here is verry different from any other FEB I have ever had. They poached their eggs instead of frying them, they had a very thinly grated hashbrown that was heavily peppered.(not my favorite). A THICK piece of bacon, and a veggie and meat mixture on the side, and a thick slice of whole wheat bread. Summary: great location, great service, but they tried to get fancy with the Full English Breakfast and messed everything up for me

The location is so unique in a crowded Auckland cafe scene and the offering is pretty good. Considering how busy they always are and the level of support they get from the local community it seems a shame they haven’t kept the interiors and furniture etc to a high standard. COVID closures would have given them a great opportunity to give the place a really good clean and tidy up. Locals are starting to feel a bit like the love is one way. Hopefully it gets some love and attention soon to bring it back to where it should be.

We arrived on a very rainy Saturday along with a very small dog. Because of the weather all outside seating was closed so we expressed our disappointment as we had driven a long way to be there. The staff were awesome in their response, in a sheltered corner outside they set up two umbrellas under the overhang and bought out five mohair blankets (yes one for the dog !!) and we proceeded to enjoy a fabulous lunch while watching windsurfers in the pouring rain. Great work guys you went well above the call of duty. Highly recommend this café.

We just stopped in for a cup of coffee. The coffee was excellent, and the service was great! They kept filling our glasses with complimentary sparkling water. Brilliant! And a fantastic view, right by the water. They serve wonderful icecreams too.

I just love the food here and how friendly the staff is. My favorite dish is without any doubt fish and chips, so far the best one I had in NZ.

Buzzing with good vibes, lots of staff and they tended to us quite quickly. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was served quickly, it was tasty. 😊 Always a bonus being that its beach side with a beautiful view. Bathroom - Clean and modern, better then 90% of cafe bathrooms in Auckland.

The service was really quick. Coffee was good too. I loved the cold press juice. It tasted great and healthy at the same time which is a rare combination.

Such a great place. Service impeccable. We came on a public holiday and were seated quickly, orders taken and turn around wa quick. Plenty of staff on who were all attentive and friendly and the food was excellent.

Want to experience perfection? Go to the Beach Café. Perfect setting, perfect furniture, perfect service and perfect food. Go early because sure as hell you have to wait but in a location like this waiting adds to the experience. Leave your phone at home, kick off your sandals and soak up the vibe.... This is bliss.

Wonderful open indoor outdoor setting with ocean views. Food and coffee are excellent. Small menu but has everything you could want. Good drink choices smoothies juices etc. Prices are fair. Staff are excellent.

the cafe is located in a great spot which ha not change much. the food quality has drop slightly (chips were cold but the waitress replaced with hot chips quickly) the service was spot on. I had a fish burger, and it was ok, not the same compared to a couple of years ago.

Without a doubt, this cafe is a glorious location by the water with fantastic views and a perfect location to have a meal or coffee. Personally, after my experience today I will probably not order food again there, and will stick to coffee. I was disappointed with the portion size of my lunch which was one piece of sourdough bread, one poached egg, about 1/3 of an avocado mashed on it, and a few cherry tomatoes. I think it was overpriced at $24 and certainly did not provide a satisfying lunch. But, it guess it’s the beautiful location you’re paying for, not the food.

As a regular, I can vouch for the Beach Cafe's super friendly service, good coffees, gelato, pastries, and a la carte menu. Sparkling water on tap for the win! Obviously the views are stunning. The staff get to know your coffee order which is a nice touch. My only recommendation would be more vegetarian/vegan options on your menu pretty please : ) Kudos for your sustainable options by the way! (e.g. keep cup friendly, no plastic straws, wooden ice cream spoons instead of plastic).

My brother and I had an early dinner here last night and had the best time!! The food was great, the ice cream amazing... We even got to sample the flavours first! Such a lovely atmosphere being on the beach, but the best bit was the awesome staff!! The two front of house girls were delightful and a real asset to the business. So genuinely friendly & ready for a laugh. Kitchen staff were great too. A lovely experience - can’t wait to go back!!

Although we didnt have food we were totally impressed with the lovely service, good coffee & cool teapot of kawakawa tea. We received constant refills of sparkling water & were given the days paper. Busy place on a tuesday morning & from what we saw deservedly so.

Lovely location and really cool staff! I went there with some friends and my dog. Unfortunately the kitchen was not operational that day but we had amazing coffees and a great time on the deck. Hope to be back there soon for a meal

Come here occasionally, but cannot be faulted. There is sometimes a short wait in the weekends, but you can't blame them for being so popular. The position right on the waterfront is perfect, and considering the food is very good, it is only expected that prices are higher than average. Coffee is excellent. So is the friendly and attentive service. Love the free sparking water.

A visit to Takapuna will be incomplete without a stop here.... definitely one of my favourites

Great food, better location. Always a classic stop after a walk or swim in Takapuna beach. Or just a great place to catch up and take in the atmosphere. Best ice cream in Takapuna as well. Prices are a bit in the expensive side, so you are paying a premium for the experience. Still, it's a good place to take visitors from out of town to show off what the North Shore has to offer.

We love to walk along this beach with it's fantastic view... but gets a little scary when all the dogs are about... barking, growling & pooping everywhere!?! Such a pity...

An absolutely fantastic location right on the beach front. Stunning views. Very good service- a large, efficient and cohesive team providing very friendly service. At least five staff members said farewell to me as I left! The food was great with considerable portions for a reasonable price. I would definitely go back.

Very busy and tightly packed with little room between tables. Wait staff were excellent attentive topping glasses and providing straws etc for the kids. Only had the Ice mocha but it was very good. Comes with ice cream which is a first time for me. Great views and a pager System for those who have to wait for a table.

This Cafe is in a great location, right by the water with great views. Its on the higher side of price but you do get some great food here. The coffee is really nice and they have a nice little takeout part as well that has Gelato Ice creams. It gets busy in the summer or on nice winter days. They have some nice outside seats as well.

I love this place, the food is great, but the ice reams are amazing. Be prepared for a bit of a wait for a seat of R an ice cream though, it's a very popular spot. Word of advice, if you're getting ice cream, remember to pay for it BEFORE going to choose what you want, or you'll line up for no gain and be sent back to pay. Signage on that isn't super obvious, although it is definitely there, but with so many people lining up, it can be easily missed. Beautiful location too, right at the Takapuna main boat ramp.

Small word of advice if you need to remove a certain item from your dish when ordering, it's best to explain why otherwise they may replace it with a similar item, not too good if it's a nut or gluten allergy. Overrated cafe, Great location, nice coffee The food was served cold for our entire table. Poached eggs tasted like vinegar, mash potatoes tasted sour. Every element in the dish was cold and that was for 12 people in our group.

This is a very popular cafe and there must be good reason for this rating apart from a really lovely setting. Our visit wasn't great. The cafe was very busy. The service was just ok even though the staff were working hard. Two of our four meals very mediocre. So were the coffees. Maybe we should have told the staff at the time but it was so so busy we didn't want to wait even longer and so busy it wasn't a relaxing and pleasant experience.

One small juice $8. Nothing on the menu sounded like me and what did was between 25-30. Someone ordered chips which were hand cut and came with aioli and sauce but it wasnt on the menu and who knows what it cost. Seemed very popular with the locals but not for me. Staff were friendly and place was packed. Coffees and their special hot chocolate seems to be the go. Didn't see the cabinet food which may have been nice

Awesome location and great indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are pretty on to it and provide great service. The food is great, hard to find traditional food options here but Nice to try new things 🙌🏼 Sparkling water is complimentary which I love! Coffee is Allpress which is always a fave ! Views are beautiful. Can be noisy and squished inside due to it always being a popular choice for locals and always being busy. Can be a little over-crowded over summer. Joined to the cafe is “the store” where you can’t go past one of their amazing gelatos or yummy cabinet food. They also do individual boxed portions of fish n chips to takeaway which is delicious for a summer evening at the beach and much nicer than the little Takeaway shops.

The hot drinks are delicious, I loved the spiced white chocolate. My eggs were a bit undercooked but apart from that the food was amazing. Staff is friendly and the location is beautiful.

Perfect spot for an afternoon. Lovely beachfront position with beautiful views. The staff and service is exceptional. Sparkling water served on tap and decent coffee. The food isn't anything to write home about but this is spot I'll visit again for sure. The salted caramel gelato from their sister 'store' is a must.

I visited on Sunny Sunday, cafe was very busy but the tall blonde lady at the front was very quick to help us to a table. Food was very nice, I had the eggs Benedict with bacon which was very nice presented on a rosti (hashbrown) and tasted delicious. My husband had the whitebait omelette, which I believe was a special, and it was to die for. Their cold pressed juice (we had the watermelon mint juice) was outstanding and our waiter was very charming and informative, he even went out his way to get us blankets when the wind got a bit too much for our children. I did however get a bit distracted by one of the workers who was not wearing the same uniform as the others (?) and she was wearing an extremely short, low cut dress, so much so that when she was reaching to put the plate with food down we could see her cheeks (not the ones on her face). That may be a plus for some, but for a family with kids, I would’ve preferred to be without the experience. Food: 5 Service: 5 Only thing putting it to a three was the distracting outfit of one of the workers not wearing a uniform. I know it is near the beach and I am all for the beach/casual vibe, but this was a bit too much.

Fantastic service. Constantly having our waters filled up. Only went in for a coffee, but was still made to feel valued. The only downside was how crammed in the tables are to each other. But I guess when your that great with customer service, you need all the tables you can get. Lol.

The fish and chips was delicious but I was disappointed that it was only warm. The same with my coffee. I should have said something but we were in a hurry and hungry. Also the food was slow in coming which could explain why it was only warm. The restaurant wasn't full so the slowness didn't make sense. Disappointing.

Visited this place many times over the years. Ambience is fantastic and on a sunny day it is hard to find a place in Auckland with a better vista. Menu changes seasonally but always contains a mix of classic favourites and new and innovative dishes. Service is always top notch and wait for food is not long even at the busiest of times.

Have been here for a couple of times. Never was let down by the food. Probably one of the best views you could ask for. It’s right next to the Takapuna beach, so can be quite busy and crowded. Food is definitely outstanding, but slightly higher price is expected as well. Also there are plenty of parking available. Highly recommend!!

It’s a great place and we went there for well over two years, but the coffee can be pretty iffy. If they don’t have a barista, they’ll throw anyone at the machine and charge you full price. The food’s pretty good, though. The view is amazing. It’s why we frequented this place for over two years. However, once we found better coffee, we just moved. Life’s too short for crappy coffee.

Probably the most famous Cafe in Takapuna. Always crowded. You need to be blessed to find an ocean view table. The food is just average, the presentation is awfully over dated. Couldn’t be bothered taking any photos.

Amazing location for having your coffee while the sun goes down. A must try would be the "House Coffee" which can be customised to suit your caffeine needs. All ingredients at your perusal. Highly recommended.

Great spot to visit for those wanting to experience NZ brunch lifestyle if only on a short trip to the country. Has a great location next to the boat ramp end of Takapuna Beach. Has a large deck area for those just wanting their morning coffee fix.

Stunning food all around have been here more than once, really nice vibe and good service. Only complaint would be that the scambled eggs are runny and flavorless. Try the iced coffee it's awesome, amazing vanilla gelato, milk and espresso coffee that you get to mix yourself.

This is a great little cafe. Best location and excellent food choice with very dedicated service staff. The only reason I didn't give it full 5 stars is probably not their fault, but sometimes they are just so damn busy it takes too long to place or receive an order. Be prepared to make some noise if you feel neglected and the staff usually put it right.

Great location but unfortunately the food and service is a bit lacking. The menu is very odd, American diner style but with various Asian dishes mixed in, leaving you with choices that don’t match well (if your friends order the burger and fries, it feels very strange to get the poke bowl!).

This is a good place to go and wind down, its close to the beach for a walk and the restaurant has amazing food with rwally good service. I will be visiting again soon in the near future.

Healing place and nice view!

Popular modern cafe/restaurant almost on the water (just has the car park in the way). The food is reasonably priced and a bit fancy. The place is always packed but theres a lot of seating inside and out so I've never had to wait. Theres a bakery that comes off the side too with it own cashier to grab coffee and a roll/pastry on the go. Lunch with green smoothie was $20. Coffee and sandwich was $11. Lots people walking their dogs popping in for a coffee. They have plenty of staff who always check in to refill water and see if you need anything. Not a lot of vege options but the menu is small to start with.

Great popular spot. Friendly staff. Could do with better food and ice cream labels in The Store as it holds up the queue with people asking. Told them yet nothing has been done. Food great in the restaurant.

Great ice cream. However this has happened a couple of times and I advised the staff member tell your owner. The icecream is melting and it was difficult to do a double cone without actually putting it in a cup. So why? Fridge going into defrost advised. So I advised time to change your fridge. Your in the business of selling icecream. It's premium price which is fine but if your fridge display unit is playing up replacement it or fix it.

Good notification system when full. Meals quite larger. Was disappointed in the beer battered fish and chips which also stated came with a salad! Salad was a couple of limp whitlow leaves with a very salty dressing. Service attentive almost to the point of too much. Location is very nice which is I think they are trading on. Some more attention to detail on their menu / meals should e considered.

Both the Store (ice cream and cabinet food items) and the cafe are great. The ice cream is to die for, the only problem here is picking which flavour but you are welcome to try as many as you like. The cafe offers a good selection of food and every meal I have had has been near perfect. This is not a place you can walk into on a weekend or holiday period expecting a table straight away. There is usually a wait and you can't pre book tables. People waiting are given a lobster shaped buzzer that will buzz when a table fitting your party is available. The staff are pretty on to it, always on the look out for empty water glasses or asking you if everything is ok. If you've got plenty of time on your hands this place is worth a try.

Yummy! food was delicious. We had the fish burger and savory pancake weigh had fish in it too. So good and great service. Aparently the chef(?) Is quite the fisherman and goes out and catches them. Could be why it was so good. I do get annoyed when paying and the eftpos asks for tip tho but thats my view, nothing against the cafe. They also default to sparking water. I'm a tap water guy and cant stand sparkling lol

The seating and eating area of the cafe was so busy so I just got a coffee to take away. They have a separate area to server take away customers which is great, so we were served quickly, the cabinet food also looked quite tasty.

Service was attentive and we didnt have to wait long for food even though the restaurant was extremely busy. I had eggs benedict with bacon - all was cooked perfectly but the bacon was tough and the bread was chewy and hard to get through. Also the milkshake was over priced at $9 for a smallish glass - I should have had water instead and followed with the fabulous salted caramel gelato.

A really generous serving of FnCs for $12 with some picnic tables with a sea view just around the back. Top it off with their peanut butter and chocolate chip ice cream. If you're in for a meal, the gnocchi or smashed eggs with a long black wont let you down.

Super busy cafe located at Takapuna beach. The staff are very efficient and keep people moving in and out quickly. We had to wait maybe 10 mins for a table We ordered the battered fish and chips and the ceviche. The batter was light and crispy on the fish. I didn’t enjoy my ceviche. I thought there was too much oil on it but that may be a personal choice. It came with cucumber and avocado moose and fermented chilli which was very fresh. Flat white was good and my partner really enjoyed the double chocolate milk shake. Worth a visit

Great food and service!

Great location, always super busy in the Summertime, and the food is wonderful, especially the handcut pasta. Some service staff were amazing, but some were quite snobby. All in all, a great place for lunch.

Eggs benny with rosti was amazing! Great presentation and friendly staff. Shame the coffee cost so much, additional charges for decaf and for almond milk.. But otherwise would recommend still!

Good service & great food

A must visit. Enjoy world class views over beautiful Takapuna Beach, Hauraki Gulf and over to Rangitoto island. Great coffee and food. As a bonus there's a small cabinet selection in the little side cafe if you want to eat at the beach or nearby reserve, and great ice-cream selection too. Super popular year round and for good reason.

Walking along the beach and enjoy the awesome view my friend from South Korea she want to spend her last days before she leave, unable to extend her Student Visa, the Cafe was full we bought ice-cream lovely place, better luck next time.. yummy!

It is truly a beautiful beach.. good crowd .. friendly people .. plenty of food options near by.. specially the takapuna cafe has some of the friendliest staff.. tastiest food options.. I tried fish and chips which definately was a bit too oily but the taste made it up .. the food is fresh and really tasty.. had a wonderful time

Excellent location. Went there on a weekday morning and had lovely decaf flat white and the excellent omelette with buffalo mozzarella. Friendly and attentive staff. Will return

We have been here a few times and it's a great cafe that looks over Takapuna beach. Don't let the fact that they are busy put you off as the service and coffee is still good even at those times.

My shore go-to cafe. Absolutely stunning on a sunny day. Trendy, clean vibes and food that never disappoints!

Best icecream in the whole of New Zealand. In summer time people line up for 15 minutes to have one. I had a triple cone and impressed the locals as I was the first to do it. The coffe one was my favorite.

Good location. Great smoothies. Gets busy at peak hours. Dishes are good though prep takes a bit of time. Can improve pricing a bit

Great service but food prices seem to have gone since the last time I was there. I have been a big promoter of TBC but wonder if the food prices dont justify the level of service and view as much now. Certainly nothing with the food except maybe the value for money.

This cafe is situated on one end of the beach. It is a lovely cafe and normal prices that you would see in takapuna. The only let down would be parking although you can park where the boats etc are but the fear of being towed is high

Excellent location directly overlooking the beach but in there defence they do not rest of the laurels of the location alone staff is friendly drinks and ice cream are great but if you would like to sit down be prepared for a little bit of a wait this place is always busy and you'll be able to see why

Food is great views are worth sitting and enjoying the great coffee and service.

An average cafe. The food cost is relative to the place. There is an eat in surcharge so I strongly recommend walking to Takapuna park. Anyways the ice creams, chips and fish are nice.

Food was good but not worth what it cost. $9 for a mochachino?!? Was expecting something exceptional for the price, it wasn't bad but not $9 good. Overall it seemed a bit overrated...like Takapuna in general.

Ok atmosphere, queueing for icecream isn't too bad but if you're paying a "reasonable" price for icecream the least they could do is put sorbet on top of icecream as it melts faster...

Excellent place to have a ice cream. But a bit busy if you are coming for breakfast Saturdays and Sundays Takapuna water front needs more restaurants like this one.

Nice cafe, good location, very popular and the wait service was friendly and quick. My only critique would be for more variety on the menu, it felt slightly limited.

I can't wait to come back ! It's perfect and my favorite local café. I live close enough to visit regularly , so you'll see me often there .

I walk Takapuna Beach 4 days a week and buy a coffee from the Takapuna Beach Cafe. The staff are great! The only thing I would suggest is if they had a loyalty card system running for purchasing ☕.

Great location and good food. It could do with a refresh of the decor as it's looking a little bit tired now. That's just something I notice when I eat out, but others may not care about that stuff.

The sweetest staff and totally beautiful menu and easy to make certain things vegan. HP Group is the bar every hospitality group should aspire to.

I had breakfast here this morning and it was fantastic, i was greeted warmly and my tasty breakfast was brought to me in perfect time quickly but not rushed. Smiley staff great food and stunning location

Ice cream here is amazing. Nothing beats popping down for a peanut butter ice cream cone, then over to the beach for some sun and relaxation during summer.

We always go for an icecream here, we love when they serve a bit more instead of just one icecream ball. Even that sometimes is full the queue go fast.
