My go to place for dumplings.. Not sure about today's patch! Didnt taste as fresh

Pork belly bao from this place is a must. They call it an 'ugly burger' which I found confusing at first but it is a steamed bao bun. They also have a selection of dumplings which are freshly made to order or an 'ugly bowl' which is basically a bento bowl where you choose noodles or rice, a selection of salads and 2 meat/toppings. Everything I have tried has been super nice and reasonably priced and there are plenty of tables inside.

Friendly staff, nice food at a great price. Good range from dumplings to bowls.

Beef & Brocolli was made well and the customer service was excellent.

Nice food would have been better if they sold coffee ☕️ on this cold day

I love dumplings!!! These were ok, done in the large flat style whereas I prefer smaller, fatter ones. Not much filling and the wrapper was quite thick. Vinegar & chili oil supplied & soy sauce on the table.

Ordered seafood noodles and it came with surprises. Presentation was quite pleasing with heaps of seafood and great flavour!!!

This was a great experience. It offered the choice of healthy salads, a variety of chinese meat dishes and omelette (3 choices per meal), with a choice of noodles or rice as accompaniment. Buffet style so no waiting. Friendly service too. Price was right for the meal. 2 size options. Yum food.

The service was great, the food was absolutely delicious, the prices were affordable and loved the soup. Drove all the way from Manukau to go to that place only and was so happy with my decision. I asked for the large Ugly Dumpling bowl and what I got for the price I paid,it was well worth it. Definitely worth going to.

Food was great, really enjoyed the portion size as it was enough for me to take home later (and I usually don't leave anything on the plate)

Tidy clean premises featuring europeanised Chinese food. My dumpling soup came quickly, featuring 6 tasty dumplings in a clear soup with Bok Choy and a sprinkling of spring onions over egg noodles. The Ugly Burger was a couple of pork belly slices in a bag bun with carrot, cucumber, red onion and baby spinach with a hoisin type sauce. A little up there at $5.90 but ok compared to other takeaway offering in this area and given the high quality of premises. The steam pork dim sum was large and flavoursome - more bread than usual but still satisfying. Lots of seating here, with typical buffet style selection of Chinese favourites to have on rice, or an array of soups or dim sum.

Lots of vegan options. Been staying at a hotel for 4 weeks and ugly dumpling have been our fave place for lunch. Great value for money, big portions and super friendly staff.

Cheap and easy fast chinese food. Always satisfying never disappoint. Big generous portion always every time. Very happy to travel the distance to come here and enjoy good food.

It was a friendly and clean place with lots of variety. Had BBQ pork rice dish which was nice. Will try again :)

We had the fried rice and the dumplings, and both were excellent with generous portions. It's a nice place to stop by for a quick lunch if you're just picking up your car and are hungry.

Food portion is high but prices are also slightly on the expensive side. Definitely need to share food.

sooo goood!! this is such a great place for a filling meal, that caters for alot of different diet restrictions. The staff are friendly and the place is really spacious and nice. Theres lots of flexibility with the food options. Similar to subway- you pick a dish, pick the vegetables you'd like and then it's all cooked together and served (quick).

Nice, spacious, great for large groups, delicious food. Dumplings could have more meat though.

The rice bowls are well priced although options of dishes are limited. However there are a lot of other food options available ranging from soup noodles to fried noodles and rice. Dumplings are decent too and staff are friendly and polite. 1 of the better options in the area.

Fantastic service and good price. Main down fall is the place echoes too much so with all the noise you don't eat too stay. On top of that the space between the chairs is too small so you end up at someone else's table cause your too close.

Pork and veg dumplings were delicious, as were their chicken wings.

My wife had the seafood noodle soup, which was very good. I had chicken fried rice noodles but they were very "oily" - not my favourite. Would go back again and choose the soup instead.

This place is pretty decent for what it is. Nice and quick meal, reasonable number of choices, and prices aren't too bad. Depending on the day you go, things can be a bit oilier sometimes, but if you're looking for a quick meal while waiting at the airport area, it's pretty good. However, it would need to step up its game, since they are competing with Carl's Jr and KFC.

Friendly staff, decent food. The 12 of us came here for lunch as part of my mates stag do, with him dressed in a full on SpongeBob costume. He asked if he could get miso soup refill and the staff happily did it for free!

My aunty and I were recommended this place by the kind Asian gentleman who works at The Warehouse. In entering the Ugly Dumpling, we were greeted by two lovely servers who were cheery and helpful (especially to my 75 year old aunty) in selecting from a very vast menu. What I enjoyed most was the dumpling soup and my aunty had a selection of rice, meat and veges. Very tasty and affordable.

It was ok. Just ok. Bit oily and not the right kind of sauce. Needed chili for the dumplings.
