Reviews of Wintergarden Cafe

Had a beautiful brunch early January. The food was a work of art. The outside setting was gorgeous.

Stopped for brunch here this morning.
We both ordered the crumpets; mine was the gourmet crumpets (sweet) and his was the salmon and avocado crumpets (savory).
Both were beautiful on the plate but the yum factor was all lost and the flavours just didn't work for me.
Nice setting, quiet and enjoyable.
p.s. Our cutlery were brought to the table and not sitting in a pot for everyone to touch. Big ➕ for this Cafe.

Nice spot hidden away in the domain. Adjacent to a pond and the winter gardens, so there’s a nice amount of wildlife enjoying the area.
Food was not too bad, nothing amazing and I thought it was quite pricey. Coffee was nice but not amazing. Staff were pleasant but they seldom entered the dining area unless they were delivering food.

Even on a dull winter's day you'll get a warm welcome here. There are tables outside and in as well as a spacious dining room to cater for larger groups. Parking is easy and close as well. The coffee is consistently good and the food from the kitchen ranges from the standard cafe fare done well to the more creative dishes done with style. The cabinet options include the most fulsome array of pastries you'll see outside a patisserie - and the service is prompt and friendly. They've sussed out what works well and thankfully they're sticking to it, and doing the superb setting proud.

Good food platter, love the variety. Reasonable price. Nice coffee, but not the best. Friendly service.

Ordered a grazing box during L3 lockdown. At $25pp it was totally worth the money. Easy process and quick collecting.

Amazing food! Friendly and professional staff. Suitable for small function/wedding. Easy to find parking spaces.

The cafe is located beside the duck ponds in the Auckland domain. I stopped by for lunch since I saw that they had a crayfish dish made with squid ink pasta. It was fairly full inside but the outer tables were mostly empty. I decided to take the bench which looks out the window.
I had told them I was looking for a table so they came to me to give me a menu and to take my order. They also had a cabinet by the counter for food as well as the items on the menu.
The pasta was quite nice. There were large chunks of crayfish that was tossed in the pasta. The flavours reminded me of a shrimpy dry laksa. The dish also had a slice of garlic bread as well. The food was nicely flavoured. The prices are a bit on the high side for a cafe, hovering around the $25 mark. It is a nice place to grab food, particularly if you like somewhere a bit quiet surrounded by greenery.

Such a beautiful place to have lunch with the family❤️ The food was amazing, excellent service. And gorgeous view when you sit outside 😌
