Lovely ladies here in this idyllic spot. Very nice place to stop for a coffee and a bite to eat. Great outdoor area to sit in the sun or under the shade of table umbrellas and trees. You can even go for a walk around and meet the local cockerels.

Very nice coffee. Friendly service. Beautiful place with lots of seating inside and out. Convenient location for stopping along highway 1 for food, drinks, restroom. And a lovely little dog called Teddy 🐕

If you want to experience something just a little different from the usual glitzy coffee lounge try this place. The food is good and the pasteries quite nice too, they are made lm sure substantially with butter making the pastry rather nice and tasty. Besides all this the shop offers a wide range of lovely gifts for that someone special you may be on your way to visit. Definately worth a call for a first time experience. I will be doing just that on my way home to Papamoa tomorrow

Outstanding old fashioned little cheesecakes with jam, gorgeous little homemade savoury pastries like mince, venison and chicken. Large outdoor deck so you can take yoir dog on a leash. Go here worth the stop.

Definitely a hidden Gem. So glad we were feeling hungry at the right time on the expressway to stop here! We had a bite to eat and some drinks. The staff were lovely and had nice outdoor seating area with horses and chickens in the paddocks. Very peaceful. :)

A lovely little cafè with plenty of room out the back to look around. The coffee was good, the French toast, banana, bacon and maple syrup was amazing, there was heaps of bacon. Certainly a good price for what you get. The corn fritters and eggs bene went down well with the others too. Very friendly, happy serving staff too.

Fantastic setup for children with the outdoor section. We had 4 very happy children run around and stretch their legs whilst we enjoyed lunch. Great stop half way for us travelling from Auckland to Taupo. Food was fantastic including the coffee. Highly recommend.

This place is like a hidden gem. It's hard to miss on the SH1 but looks quite nondescript from the road. Amazing food and great sized portions, beautiful art and gift shop, and wonderful staff.

Needs a shakeup... service is slow, food is on the expensive side & the facilities are run down. Bathrooms in particular are very average with poor fittings & lack of care. Outdoor tables & chairs need a good clean...

Every time we have a wonderful visit and great food. Even open Xmas morning what a lovely surprise and stop we had last Xmas 2018. So sad to hear of latest awful incident I hope it does not deter you from carrying on. I absolutely love taking the time to stop into Karapiro Cafe on my way through to the Waikato, especially when being served each time with a welcoming smile, no matter how long or short my last visit was (if you haven't already figured me out, my one biggest pet peeve is poor customer service, and I'm definitely not afraid to post about it!!). There is something for everyone, a variety of choices for food and drink, including gifts made by locals, to browse the store while you wait, oh and purchase (thank you soooo much for my #'s, and the offer to gift wrap them) plenty of seating options inside and outside, my mango smoothie was soooo yummy and cold, perfect for a muggy day, with a sml chicken pastry 🥧, and a sml mince 🥧 was packed with so much flavour, I'll have to go back and try the venison one... so people get off the busy roads before hitting the waikato express way... it's worth it.

Always a great place to stop. Coffee is some of the best and food is very tasty. The Big burger is really filling and I am usually not able to finish it.

This is a haven of peace from the busy highway. The staff are considerate and Mr Zheng is generosity personified. A great please to visit, delicious food, peaceful surroundings. So dreadful to hear of the awful and indiscriminate shooting of Mr Zheng, however so pleased to hear that he is making good recovery progress. Good luck to Mr Zheng, his family and staff.

Quiet, cosy, casual This describes the cafe perfectly. Just quiet, cosy and casual, as if you'd dropped in to your nana's house on the way home. It has a large outdoor area for families and plenty of friendly faces and toys to keep the kids busy. Please continue on to Auckland if you are looking for a high end cafe with a more expensive taste ;) Rob Aucklander
