Reviews of Addington Coffee Co-op
E.
One of the few cafes in Christchurch where you can choose a comfortable seat. From wooden chairs and tables to large bars to comfortable sofas. Food never has to wait long. Good coffee and food. Bruce is always happy. Regardless of the weather, it is a good place to simply have a cup of coffee. One of my favorite cafes in town.
C.
Looking for a different vibe? The Addington Coffee Coop is a place to visit. Great coffee ☕ looks like a good selection of cabinet and off the menu food. They also have a Trade Aid style shop that you need to see rather than I write about. Parking around the back of cafe if you are lucky
G.
What a wonderful discovery! A busy cafe offers delicious food, great service, and a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend this cafe.
J.
We went to the Addington Coffee Cooperative for brunch. What a wonderful discovery! A busy cafe offers delicious food, great service, and a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend this cafe.
L.
Great brunches over the last 3 mornings
Thank you!
C.
Great coffee and great food. I like the little shop inside the coffee, nice things to buy. Staff is very friendly, especially the tall guy (sorry don’t know his name).
S.
Great visit today. Nice coffee, per usual. Delicious bagel with ample pesto and cream cheese to top! Atmosphere is always bustling, cozy, great seating options for all occasions, including outdoors. Cute wee shop inside as well, friendly staff, good service. Would definitely recommend.
G.
Best brunch place in ChCh! They always keep the menu simple, which is great because it makes it easy to decide what to eat. The famous English breakfast, eggs, eggs, some other regular breakfasts and what I got, French toast with pork belly. In New Zealand, they like to cook a little bit of cooked food with bacon. I don't think I want it, but I like it! They put some fruit, syrup and cream between the toast. This is amazing!
D.
Great Cafe, great service. Don't get to go there often but I find it a great place to catch up with friends for a hot drink who I haven't seen for a while. Highly recommend.
M.
Very chilled atmosphere, large floor space with tables and even couches. Small store with a conservative concept. Staff were friendly. No filter when I came is as it wasn’t ready. Food was exceptional. Small courtyard is also available if one is willing to brave the element.
O.
I love this Cafe so much. Excellent food and coffee as well as a small bespoke shop sourcing sustainable household nic nacs.
鄭.
The staff was very friendly and the food was great! They have a 2 page menu selection and coffee too. I loved their mushroom breakfast I just wish there was a little less mushroom haha. But tasty. Big place with seating inside or out. Pricing is a little expensive but it’s worth it. Great brunch location. Go try it!

Went there for a coffee date with my wife, and she loved this place. Variety of food for vegan as well. I have never seen this cafe empty at any time. Since morning to evening people keep coming for coffee and meal. Cafe staff are so nice and friendly.
I.
Such a great and unique place. I feel they have truely created their own cafe culture in the best way possible. Everything is good here.
C.
Coffee - amazing! Atmosphere - delicious! Chatting with Bruce (owner) - Priceless! Don't miss this place when you visit Christchurch! Service is fantastic! Presentation of food was beautiful!
P.
Delicious brunch, great ambience
and friendly staff. Good vegetarian and vegan options. Beautifully plated food. High chairs for children
Great ambience. We enjoyed it so much much that we revisited the place the next day.
L.
A nice cafe but my drink could have been hotter.
I have been contacted by the Addington Coffee Co-op since l wrote this review to say if l have the same experience again, l should tell them and they will make a new drink. I am happy with their response.
R.
Was here on a Sunday morning and found the place to be very lively. The coffee I had here was amazing. The team managing this place have done a fabulous job of creating a vibrant atmosphere. The story of the Addington Coffee Co-op was interesting to hear. It was mentioned that they redistribute 70% of profits to help the lives of people within NZ and overseas. They give flags while billing to identify our orders.
M.
Great coffee, and yummy snacks. Really great experience
J.
This has been one of my local hang outs for a while. It has a fantastic atmosphere. Best spot is the big table at the back, plenty of room to read the local paper 'The Press' and catch up on current news.
Coffee and food does not disappoint either. Wide range of food and coffee that is always fresh and delicious..
K.
Excellent selection of foods catering for all dietary needs. Great coffee and ambience.
A.
For full enjoyment experience try to avoid on peak hours (10am smoko and lunchtime)
Sweatshop style interior with classic exposed rafters and brick wall.
Efficient and Cheerful staff, and variety of different food options from brunch menu to on shelf goodies and fresh bakings.
Coffee is best in town hands down, I believe they blend and roast it on site.
Cute little handmade shop is extra bonus.
M.
We had great brunch. Food arrived fast. Coffee is good (strong). We had to wait for the table but it's understandable on the weekend. Will be back again.
A.
We had pancakes and coffee it was really good . Staff members were friendly and approachable as well.
T.
This is one of my favourite cafes in Aotearoa. The service, great coffee and congenial atmosphere has always drawn my appreciation. The fact that it is a sustainably driven business makes each visit that much more special. This is a 'must do'cafe whenever I am in Christchurch.
B.
First time at addington coffee co-op, was busy but had no trouble getting a table. The cafe itself had quite a cool New York cafe vibe. Service was great! Myself and my partner both ordered the french toast (I also ordered an iced chocolate). The iced chocolate was so delicious , to the point that I drank it way too fast. Even though it was busy, my partner and I received our meals within 10 minutes of ordering. As shown above the french toast came with a variety of sweet fruit and also bacon (for an extra $5) The meal was absolutely delicious and brought together so many different flavors without being overpowering. I would definitely reccomend addington coffee co-op to anyone wanting great breakfast meals with a awesome vibe; the only negative I would give it is the price as my meal came to around $30 where as I have had bigger and very good meals (slick burger $24) cheaper , therefore I give them 4 stars, but definitely awesome breakfast and I will absolutely come back and try more of the menu.
B.
I visited here for breakfast where I had the French toast. Presentation is incredible, as too is the service! The atmosphere is relaxing with a young vibe. The story behind the Addington Coffee Co-Op is very interesting, with a strong drive for ethically sourced items and strong support for local communities
B.
Have to score a 5 as great food coffee and service with a great atmosphere. Also, very important in this cold weather, it was well heated, very toastie.
A.
Absolutely love it. My favorite cafe in Christchurch. Picolo and versato are fantastic! Always buy coffee beans from here. Highly recommended. Love it!
M.
One of the better cafes I've visited in Christchurch. Has a special coffee roasting corner, a corner dedicated to selling local ware for a worthy cause, and a nice theme to the cafe. Food was above average and coffee was excellent. Would visit it again for sure.
K.
Wow. This place is adorable, the decor is so cute and the food is definitely worth the wait for a table. We had been warned that it's best to book but we rocked in on a Sunday morning anyway just in case and managed to get one of the cute tables by the front door which are almost bar leaner style. The french toast was amazing, best I've ever had. I'm told the eggs bene was really great, too. Honestly worth the wait and worth battling a crowd. Enjoy a look in the gift-type shop while you're waiting.
A.
Very nice coffee and date / choc scone. (A little too sweet) 10$ total.
M.
Delicious food & coffee. Wonderful friendly staff. There was also a cute gift store with a range of cute and quirky items for sale. I loved the vibe in this place. We will be back!
M.
Vibe appears great and friendly. I tried the famous french toast. Well presented but i was surprised that the add-on bacon is expensive $5. Coffee was good though.
A.
Love the food, customer service especially the vibe. I can't believe I haven't been here. As this is one of the place I look for in a cafe. Definetely coming back again.
L.
Great place for breakfast and coffee. The place’s decoration is nice and nice atmosphere. Friendly and super helpful staff.
E.
Without doubt one of the nicest coffee shops in NZ. Big & airy with loads of character. Coffee is top notch. Food excellent. Really nice little store on-site. Seems to be always busy, yet had no trouble getting a seat. Highly recommended.
N.
Great food. Friendly staff. Flags for table markers is a nice touch.
L.
Nice cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating. Has a variety of cabinet and menu food available including gluten free, dairy free, paleo, vegetarian options. Well made coffees, friendly staff, plenty of seats, small car park available. What more can you ask for in a cafe :) ?
L.
Excellent food. Great organic coffee!
Can be quite busy but worth a wait.
T.
Always enjoy a visit to this place. Good vibe, good food, good coffee.
Love their ethos.
R.
Lovely food, great coffee, worth a little extra as portions large.
K.
Excellent as always. Great coffee great staff.
S.
This cafe is always gaurunteed a good time! It is always busy but there is lots of seating and the staff are accomodating. The cabinet food and menu food is delicious, and their berry smoothies are amazing! I had the quinoa porridge, which was completed new to me, and I wasn't disappointed!
R.
Great Place for Brunch, loved the flags as a nice change to the usual numbers given, great range of alternative items and all diners I was with enjoyed their food, would definitely come back!
S.
Nice coffee and slice. Very good atmosphere!
There is car park at rear
D.
We came here for a Christmas breakfast, great coffee, great food and the staff were awesome 👌
A.
Lovely presentation of French toast. Great selection of gifts are selling at the shop. Nice staffs always make me feel so good.
S.
Definitely my frequent place to go.
C.
They have nice coffee and iced chocolates, and their food is wonderful. I'd say they have the best eggs benedict in Christchurch.
My only qualm is that noise really carries through the entire cafe so it can be hard to hear someone just across the table, especially at busy times.
B.
Great vibe, great food. Even though they were busy our breakfasts were ready in no time, while still maintaining high standards
M.
Had a cuppa and catch up. Can't review food but venue big with a variety of spaces to sit. Crunches, tables and leaners. Nice shop selling ethical items.
K.
Great coffee, yummy food, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere - definitely a favourite spot! The menu changes quite regularly, and the cabinet food always looks delicious as well.
Having the laundromat and store there is a sweet touch as well, and even more of a reason to visit.
T.
Amazing coffee with dairy free macadamia nut milk and great service, we were thrilled to visit Addington Co-op and support an amazing local institution (that everyone should visit if in Christchurch!)
Have loved Addington Coffee Co-op for years and they never disappoint!
Thanks also for complying so readily with NZ Govt COVID-19 Alert Level 2 protocols, I felt incredibly safe dining in amongst others vying to have brunch!
J.
really nice place to sit and have a coffee! the interior is really well decorated, super nice and chill vibes! the coffee and the food is pretty good and reasonably priced as well! pretty popular spot, generally quite crowded and the queues are really long but this place is definitely worth a visit! (their takeaway cups r cute too)
A.
Amazing French toast and excellent coffee. Friendly team and vibrant atmosphere
M.
This place has such a cool atmosphere! Love the couch/coffee table sort of vibe here. Flags of the world as table numbers are unique touch. Coffee is amaze and food is very tasty and presented well.
H.
Addington Coffee Co can get very busy so you should keep that in mind - this is not a great place for brunch in a rush! That said, it provide a cute and quirky experience, and stellar food and coffee; the humbly named "Shrooms", "Pancakes", or "Avo" are not your typical home cooked staple!
Q.
Lovely venue, great food, quick service and really good coffee. Wooo
s.
Great coffee, Good location, limited of road parking. Laundromat on site, Good place to do laundry and have a coffee while waiting. Good dessert selection.
T.
Simply amazing experience every time we come here. Delicious food, lovely staff and a beautiful venue. Our favorite brunch spot in Chch.
M.
Really busy on a Sunday morning just after 10 but let's call it vibrant instead. I nearly didn't bother given the queue and apparent lack of tables but I'm glad I persisted. Seating - just ask your fellow patrons and room can be made. Coffee was top notch and the big breakfast, including Hungarian sausage was fabulous. I will return here.
C.
Been there for my birthday and it was awesome. The food is great coffee too but my favourite is grandma's garden tea... I'll definitely come back here.
B.
Always good, friendly staff and great food. I love the quirky atmosphere and never miss a quick shop in their store. It must be a good place because it's sometimes hard to find a spot to sit but very happy to wait.
S.
Found on Google for breakfast and coffee for our very first NZ experience. Only great taste and food quality in this busy cafe! Lovely blueberry pancakes in delicious taste and beautiful display super 5 stars!
A.
Great food and coffee. Pretty nice place to have breakfast in the morning.
C.
I always enjoy this place. Awesome atmosphere, great food and hot drinks, and an all-around cool place. It can be hard to get a table at times because it's so popular... because it's just that nice haha.
R.
My favorite cafe in CH. Love the atmosphere. Welcoming staff. Amazing coffee and food.
M.
Great place for coffee with a varied menu for lunch/snacks. Very popular and at busy times can be a challenge to find a free table. Small area outside which is nice on warmer days.
R.
Love this place. High quality food, coffee, service and lovely ethical gift store.
K.
Flippin awesome staff, and wonderful eggs bene as always, and always good coffee. It’s nice when they warn you of a 30 minute wait, even on a busy Sunday, and the food comes out in 15 minutes. Someone must be working really hard in the kitchen!
E.
Good atmosphere and friendly staff, really good food and cofffee. French toast is my favourite one. Quick service. The parking area is always busy, especially from 11 to 2pm.
R.
I absolutely love everything about this place. The decor is eclectic and cool, the food is amazing the coffee is amazing and the staff are helpful and kind. This cafe has a frenetic energy that I love. Everything pops in there and it really is a happy environment to be in. I go there whenever I have time.
v.
Love the coffee, food, service and atmosphere, great place to meet.
G.
This was my first stop after landing in New Zealand and was a fantastic way to start my Kiwi adventure. Great atmosphere and an amazing breakfast. Absolutely worth it.
C.
Best gluten free carrot cake, have to be in quick as they do sell out fast! Great coffee too. Relaxing atmosphere, squishy couches and great reading material!
J.
The coffee is superb. Friendly staff and excellent service
S.
Very good coffee for an affordable price. Staff is extremely friendly. Especially the old tall man. He is very funny and very friendly. He brought me a glass of water and told me it's a gift from Angela Merkel because he knew I'm from germany.
There is also a roastery, a small shop and a laundry inside. So a good place for backpackers to do the laundry and drink a coffee during that time.
M.
I loved this cafe. Service is very kind food is tasty and abundant and prices are ok. Ambient is serene and cheerful.
G.
Wonderful family friendly cafe. The owner is very attentive. We went on a sunny Sunday for a family brunch (with close out of town family members) knowing it would be busy, I've been there before so I'm awere they can get very busy. But it seemed like they don't know this. They were under staffed. Particularly the kitchen. The food was okay most of us had the big breakfast they were cold, and dry and eggs where over cooked on all meals. The hash was extremely adverage, undercooked over seasoned and gluey. Coffee and service was great considering how busy it was. I have had great meals here before and would go back, but they need to pick up their Sunday game.
S.
Amazing place, such an amazing atmosphere, wonderful people and absolutely brilliant coffee... totally yummy food too ... our go to place for sure for our time in Chch ... it is busy, yes ... but for a very good reason.
H.
A very cozy and relaxing place to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy your afternoon with your friends. We ordered long black, flat white and americano without disappointment. The staff wad nice and the service was absolutely prompt and nice. Looking forward to going there again when given a chance to try their foods. Cheers.
R.
A gemstone at Addington ave. Great coffee with different delicacies is served by friendly staff. Atmosphere and interior is excellent :)
J.
Busy weekend day. Great service. Best coffee in town
s.
Avocado choc mousse cake is amazing, gf too.. Just like mousse without a real sickly sweet taste.. Nice and clean premises, friendly staff and a cute wee shop as well
E.
Awesome laid back atmosphere, friendly service, and great at catering to people with dietary requirements! I was pleasantly surprised to find cabinet food that I could eat here :) My chai was beautiful, not too sweet as a chai sometimes can be.
B.
Awesome coffee and service if your lucky youl get served or helped by the tall older guy he's super nice an genuine
E.
If you haven't been here you have to try it. The food is great. Staff are lovely. I love that it's not for profit and all profits go to a charity they started in India. So we come regularly to support that while enjoying a tasty brunch in a cosy and relaxed atmosphere.
M.
Eggs Benedict with streaky bacon and Mochachino were done beautifully.
I asked to have both served at the same time, it was almost.
Friendly, professional, attentive staff.
P.
Very good Latte. Not too loud music
J.
Great food and coffee second visit will definitely return when next in Christchurch
D.
Breakfasts are HUGE! and so yummy. Coffee is so good I bought a kg if beans to take home to Wellington!
M.
Great cultural experience with most wonderful staff, fabulous food and best coffee
C.
Delicious food great service, busy cafe very popular location
K.
Great cafe, can be busy so you might have to share a table. Tasty food. Would be good to see some scones in the cabenit.
Lovely staff also
S.
The staff are fantastic. Very friendly!
Edit: Still good. Big effort on ethically sourced beans and a variety of dietary options supported.
M.
Yum yum.. and good gift shop too. Great coffee and breakfasts. One of my fav spots in Christchurch.
G.
One of my fav places in Christchurch. We went there a couple of times whilst travelling here. The vege eggs Benedict were my favourite, but every other dish has been equally good. Everyone is really friendly and helpful.
H.
Great atmosphere and always a wonderful tasty array of deliciousness!
A.
a favorite coffee shop and best way to start the day. Great coffee and the food is super good!
B.
Very good coffee, good staff. A little shop in the coffee and a laundromat.
All the staff was really nice, the whole shop is mainly fair trade, pastries are good, gluten free, dairy free and raffinated sugar free. And the place is really nice!
Definitely a place to go!
C.
Great friendly staff, lovely food and nice atmosphere.
D.
The 5 stars is for the lovely Gentlemen that works there, quite possibly the friendliest man I've ever met. He was really welcoming, got books and a highchair without me needing to ask for them and my 2 toddlers loved the stamps he put on their hands 😊
Y.
Great coffee. Pancakes very photogenic. Tasted nice. The cafe is friendly and spacious.
L.
Always a pleasure to come here. It has an ambience that kind of sings
M.
Amazing interior and vibe makes this place stand out from others in Christchurch. The staff make you feel welcome, there are plenty of vegan and vegeterian options, the coffee and food is great and it offers something uniquely cosy and heartfelt in Christchurch.
P.
Very good vegan menu if you are looking for such when in Christchurch, but also serve meat based menu as well. Prices about what you'd expect, but great atmosphere, and delicious food... Will definitely be back when next in Christchurch.
d.
Good coffee great food. Fast friendly service. Pretty much perfect cafe experience. Some of the chairs are uncomfortable but I guess that's their schtick.
c.
I would give them six stars if I could. I love a cafe where you get treated like you're no trouble and they love having you there despite their popularity. You get made to feel like a guest rather than a customer.
P.
Good food and friendly staff
especially Bruce 🙂
K.
Excellent coffee, great Date scones.
C.
Great coffee, and food And Laundry! So dang handy, wonderful service, cannot day enough about this place!
N.
Went there a few times, we enjoy the vibe and service. My partner have had the eggs benedict a couple of times and it seems so it is always on point. I've tried some of the vegan options, but still isn't my favorite. Granola was really sweet to the point not enjoyable, not balanced with the milk and coconut yogurt. Coffe is always ok.
M.
Truly wonderful food, I am biased though as my son is a chef there 😊 The thai chicken it was incredible.
N.
My go to is The Big House, so satisfying. Goes down well with an iced coffee/mocha.
Update: iced Americano was able half the size this time, but perhaps they ran out of big glasses, it was very busy. Still a great breakfast
C.
Cool place cool people vege sandwhich was awesome. Coffee rocked.
s.
Excellent coffee and epic cabinet food, never disappoints. Thank you Addington Coffee Co-op
S.
Lovely engaging staff, great food and coffee
D.
Excellent service, nice food and decor. The owner is usually there, charming young and old with his friendly conversations and free stamps for the little ones
K.
Yum! A friend recommended the Co-op and I'm pleased I went. The granola was delicious and the coffee was great. Loved your gift shop too.
Y.
Spacious cafe to work at, they have wonderful staffs who know their stuffs too! Cute little section that carries local artisan goods is interesting too!
H.
This place is always busy, but very friendly and relaxed. Families are welcome. Customers are always ready to share a table if need be. Food is good as well
A.
Great, busy and noisy cafe with great coffee and food. You can sit outside and watch Addington go past. Parking can be a pain, but that's just the way with this area.
m.
Great coffe and lovely atmosphere~ and nice staff.
C.
Hands down best breakfast/brunch/lunch spot in Christchurch. Superb coffee, interesting and seasonally influenced menu, friendly staff and wicked vibe. We love doing a bit of people watching here, Addington CC attracts a really diverse crowd... last time we were there the mix was, young families with kids, retired friends catching up, a bunch of crusaders, people working solo on laptops, a top NZ multisporter, Business people etc etc. Special shout out must go to the hospitality that Bruce (the big tall fella!) shows to everyone who crosses his path.
J.
Definitely friendly gentleman who served us with his politeness and courtesy. Lovely yummy brekky. Great variety to eat. Very full tummies.
D.
Good Coffee. And the looked for Café Ambience
M.

P.
Brilliant service, delicious food and a nice warm bustling atmosphere
A.
Excellent atmosphere and whilst busy I always manage to find a place to sit and enjoy a coffee. The food is great and caters for people that are dairy free, gluten free and/or vegan. I understand the coffee beans are ethically sourced which adds to their unique and authentic offering.
N.
I'm a huge fan of this popular cafe - the cabinet food is always super tasty and offers a good range if sweet and savory. The staff are very friendly - I've only ever had absolutely lovely interactions there. There is a great wee trade aid shop too with loads of cute products including some locally made stuff - I get my shampoo bars here (only $5!)
V.
Okay food, good coffee. I loved their interior design and ambience they've created. Good for spending a lazy mornings ☺
H.
Great coffee, cabinet food and menu all very appetizing. I love the atmosphere here.
K.
What a great cafe! We love that there are so many ethically sourced and fair trade options. Food and beverages were all delicious and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and helpful and there's a great atmosphere. It does get quite busy but well worth a visit.
Z.
Good. Simple. Hearty.
Spacious with great roastery = can`t stop having yet another yet another yet another coffee. One of the best carrot cakes I have ever tried - you will lick your fingers up to elbows.
Fancy a small table? Yes they do have. Big soft sofa? Yes they do have. Chilly outside? Of course they have blankets. Cold inside? They will turn heaters on.
And from 8.00 am onwards, it is getting busy - and does not seem to stop ( spent good 5 hrs there ).
Friendly unpretentious ambience, vegans you are in the right place here. Huge muffins, meat pies. Great wifi too. Service - what a treat!
Good 4 family, friends gathering, couple whispering and solo book reading too.
Be ready to forget the time here :-) and enjoy!
M.
This place best coffee in chch staff awesome good vibes yum as food ..just too good meowwww 5 stars
P.
Always a great vibe. Great coffee. They have good nutritious cabinet food. The gift shop is also really good to get well sourced and well thought out gifts for all ages.
B.
Great place for coffee and food but prices are a little on the expensive side. Nice friendly and helpful staff. Give it a try!
I.
We had breakfast here twice. The place has a nice ambience and friendly staff, the food is delicious and there is a also small shop. 70% of the profit goes different charities. A great place for breakfast/coffee if you are visiting Christchurch.
S.
Nice place, good atmosphere, friendly staff. Small portions, and they did not let me have a side dish with a sandwich, bit of a joke - it's on your menu, and I want to pay for it... Don't need complicated rules when ordering food.
s.
Definitely very popular judging by the constent stream of people. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The coffee is their own blend of fair trade. Never had a bad coffee there yet.
I had a flat white and a beautiful piece of vegan Black Forest cake. It was beautiful and fresh.
The service was quick and friendly. The price was good value.
J.
Loved every minute of it from the moment I walked in the lovely atmosphere, the friendly staff and the great food. If you have not already been I highly recommend 👌
N.
Fantastic place and friendly staff. Food was great, I got the BLT bagel and asked for my bacon extra crispy and they suuure delivered on the crisp! Because it was so hot, one of the loveliest staff members gave our table a glass of ice cubes.
T.
Great friendly staff with excellent nd efficient customer service. Amazing coffee and food was delicious. Definitely will be back!!
G.
Love this place. Whenever I can’t think of anywhere to go I just go here. It’s so yum and the coffee is fantastic. Lots of options on the menu and in the cabinet there is an array of gorgeous looking food too. My latest being the pineapple upside down cake. Such a cool wee place to sit in the cafe or out the back on the grass.Parking can be a little tricky but worth it - some parks behind the cafe or on the street opposite
P.
A wonderful place to meet friends for coffee and food. Great staff and amazing atmosphere.
M.
Food is not to my taste for the price but I know some people will love it. Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff however. Definitely would recommend trying it out
S.
best coffee and breakfast in Christchurch hands down!!! I always make sure I stop in here on my way through, so many amazing vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options! food always comes out looking and tasting flawless and the staff are so lovely! the gift shop here is awesome too with lots of quirky handmade gifts. always so warm and inviting in here, never had a bad experience! 😊
E.
Cool local hangout with the best mix of ages, types and styles. Great music and delicious food. This is the real heart of local Christchurch. Every local loves to visit.
N.
Great place nice folks too
A.
I had a very gourmet tasting chicken pie which I'd rate 5 stars out of 5. Coffee was very nice, not the best ever but decent so I'd rate it 4 stars. The gf/vegan brownie was nice but trying to eat it after it was heated was difficult as it crumbled into a mess. Overall though I'd rate this cafe 4 stars and I'd definitely recommend it to others
N.
Great coffee and atmosphere.
N.
We love this coffee shop. We have been a few times. Coffee is always good and staff friendly. The table setup and vibe is awesome and definitely sets it apart from others.
R.
A cafe with charm and a soul. The staff is very friendly and quick. I had The Salad and loved it, the coffee is nice, too. We were here on a Sunday and it was quite full but it's still a nice atmosphere. Will come back when I'm in Christchurch again.
N.
Lovely place with good coffee and great food. Thanks!
S.
Always busy, bustling, and humming. Has great coffee I am told (I don't drink coffee). The hot chocolate is great - not sweet, with a real rich chocolate taste. Highly recommended.
L.
Bloody amazing food service superb will be back
L.
I love this establishment. The food is scrumptious and the coffee outstanding.
Staff are always super friendly and provide excellent service.
I.
Prompt service for both food and coffee, even in the Monday morning mania - had the mushroom medley and it was great.
P.
Great atmosphere, great staff, super coffee, yummy food. Bit of a wait for a table but worth it.
E.
Great cafe, great concept, great food.
F.
Excellent vibes, excellent foods, excellent coffees. Can't rate this place high enough. My go to coffee shop in Christchurch. Super friendly staff - make friends or just be treated with a smile. Excellent buzz to the atmosphere - warm and welcoming whether you want a chat or to focus on some reading. Super recommended to all!
n.
Good coffee, breakfast was maybe a bit overpriced - $21 for eggs Benedict with bacon, two eggs on small crumpets with two small bits of bacon, other places are more generous in terms of serving size. Maybe I was there on a bad day. Or it was Monday morning and I was grumpy.
J.
This has always been one of our favorite coffee stops. Had another great flat white. Not table numbers but flags of different countries identify your order!
S.
Love their “flags” ordering system. The coffee is great and the food is good. But prices are quite expensive. Best for a quick brunch with a friend/partner.
E.
Excellent coffee, great service. Nice vibe, definitely coming here again soon!
A.
Beautiful cafe with gorgeous desserts and really tasty smoothies and ice chocolate drinks.
Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is great (not too hipster, but not too old school).
I would strongly recommend their lemon slice, it was unbelievably nice.
Would definitely come back again when I'm next in the area.
P.
Great coffee still :) however the prices are getting stooopid! 21.50 for eggs bene....2 poached eggs, a split bread and a few mushrooms. I get that costs etc are going up... but really... the value has come and gone.
T.
Nice atmosphere, great service, an impressive use of quality ingredients, and they don’t charge extra for gluten free. Will be going back for sure.
B.
French toast is a pet favourite. All the other brrakfast menus are just as good.
Great service
Very busy usually, especially over the weekend but the staff do their best to accommodate you as soon as possible.
Excellent place to take kids.
N.
Love this place. Great outdoor area and dogs welcome. Food great. Coffee not the best today. Needed a few more beans! Maybe I needed to request more shots? The shop is awesome and customer service in cafe and shop superb.
M.
Awesome atmosphere, great food and friendly staff. Love the different dishes they have on the menu. Beautiful flavours.
Fun to watch the roasting happening inside as well. Great place for groups at the large table.
R.
Great staff. Great coffee. My flat white had a lovely swan image on it today.
S.
Good place to grab a coffee with plenty of space both indoors and outdoors. Do note that the kitchen closes at 2pm after which food served is from the display (not the brunch menu). We had the savoury muffin, Mexican rice salad and lamb sausage rolls - all of which were good.
A.
Took my Mother and two of our friends to lunch at Addington Coffee Co-op today for her birthday and we really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, tasty interesting food choices, lovely coffee and cold drink options, but the highlight was the staff. A great obviously happy group of young people with fantastic attitudes. Very friendly and genuine they really are a huge asset to the place. The building lends itself well to being a cafe and has a great vibe. The outside space is nice too with picnic blankets on the raised grass areas as well as tables and chairs on the paved areas, all surrounded by a grape vine with a unique fence made from bicycle frames making a sheltered pleasant spot for outdoor lunches. Thoroughly recommend it as a casual meeting spot for coffee, lunch or snacks or even take your laptop and do some work while you are there.
K.
As always Addington Coffee Coop provide great food and coffee in rustic and authentic surroundings. Open and airy on a hot summers day yet warm and cosy in the depths of winter. Friendly but unobtrusive staff add to the ambiance and experience. The great thing about this cafe is they have maintained this high standard over a long period. It is a place worth visiting that never disappoints.
D.
Great food, good service. Love the atmosphere. With the bonus of the laundramat. All just down the road in addington.
K.
Best coffee I've had ever, and the avo smash was just ridiculously good. Big serving, so it was good value for money.
Addington Coffee Co has a lot of vegan and gluten free options. Only downside is it gets very busy in the mornings!
Q.
The Addington Coffee Co op has an amazing atmosphere. The food is varied and great and there in house roasted coffee is wonderful.
K.
Great service, delicious food - cheeky banter and it has a lovely feel to it. It's become my Saturday habit
P.
This coffee shop smelled delicious and had food and drinks to match the smell. It was busy all times of day but not requiring a wait. The meals were tasty, colorful, and had some unique flairs. They were accommodating to my wife's plant based diet needs.
C.
Nice cosy atmosphere, always busy with a good vibe. Good, friendly customer service and very attentive. Brunch was well presented and a good size for the price. The food could have done with more seasoning and some more flavours, as it was quite bland but it's the only flaw to be had here, and not a major!
I.
I love this place. The coffee is the best in town and the food very tasty. The staff is super friendly and the best of all is that we can bring out little puppy!
A.
One of my favorite places in the world. Supremely good eggs bene and coffee, great atmosphere and an awesome mission. I tried it on suggestion my first trip to NZ, and one year later on my second trip to New Zealand I went out of my way to make sure I returned to the Addington Coffee Co-Op, despite only spending a few hours in Christchurch! I hope they stay awesome for many years to come.
H.
Great coffee and eggs beni. The place was packed and finding a table was hard but it was well worth it. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food very nice. A must eat venue while in Christchurch.
M.
Laid back atmosphere, delicious coffee and food. Great menu that caters for all tastes. Kid friendly. Coffee roasted on the premises. Organic, fair trade and socially conscious, just an awesome place and proud to support.
C.
I found out about Addington Coffee Co-Up from my Dad. The staff had gone out of their way to help him when he was there by himself and needed assistance due to health issues. Since then I've visited twice and both visits were fantastic. The food is excellent (vege tacos are a stand out), the coffee is delicious and the environment is warm and welcoming. Also in addition to helping my Dad I discovered that their profits go to helping people in need. Amazing!
S.
Had a coffee here with a friend. Single origin espresso was very nice. My friend is Celiac so she asked if they had any gluten-free items. They had a whole menu of GF! I loved the rustic decor; great vibe. Good service.
R.
They always do the best French Toast. I like the atmosphere and hustle and bustle there. It's always busy 9 years on. Friendly staff too.
M.
Great place, great atmosphere. The coffee was pretty good. it is the second time I buy pastries.. and both of them were too sweet for my taste and too dry. It would be great to have a bit less sweet pastries.
R.
The best pancakes I have ever had. It was not too sweet, the lime sorbet with the freeze dried raspberries provided the tartness to cut through the sweetness while adding a beautiful freshness. The customer service was excellent.
K.
Busy and fast service.
Nice selection of cabinet food.
Kitchen shut tho when there at 2pm.
M.
I absolutely adored this place! The decor inside is eclectic and modern and hipster, but without being pretentious or douchey. Somehow it gives off a proper cozy vibe and makes you feel nice and warm. Our table had fresh flowers on it, which was just the perfect touch to a rainy day.
The food was AMAZING! Can’t remember the last time I enjoyed a breakfast that much. I had The Avo, which is toast with TONS of avocado and two poached eggs (seriously, had to have been like three whole avocados), with a side of strawberries and greens with goat cheese. I can’t believe I’d ever say this, but I ate the salad first! I couldn’t help it, the salad stole the show!! It was drizzled with a sort of strawberry vinaigrette that complimented the goat cheese. The strawberries were also soaked in some kind of a balsamic sauce, which was surprisingly delicious. Every single little part and flavor was so carefully thought out, it was truly a treat.
A tall older gentleman who I think was the owner stopped to chat, and he was so kind and sweet, he really made us feel very welcome and gave the whole place a nice homey feel. Couldn’t love this place more!!!
E.
One of the best cafe experiences I've had anywhere in the world, including SF where I live. Honestly maybe the best. Beautiful interior, all wooden, quaint design, clean and old-style feeling but modern. *Amazing* coffee and espresso drinks. One of the best eggs benedicts I've had anywhere. Fast and free wifi. Plenty of seating. Outdoor space with tables and a turf lawn with bean bags. Spacious, lots of natural light. Very pleasant staff.
E.
My favourite cafe, I go here at least once a week. Love the vibe and the amazing staff... and of course the fantastic coffee that not only tastes 11/10 but is also organic and fair trade. Have brought all my friends and family here, and love it as a place to relax and destress or to focus and get productive. Couldn't reccomend it more!
H.
Very friendly and nice staff. Great atmosphere. Has a cute gift shop with lots of eco friendly and beautiful handmade items.
Food is good. Coffee is always excellent.
P.
Awesome coffee and food, service was super too :)
B.
Ethical choice , exceptional coffee & service
A.
The co-op is always a nice place for coffee and food, and it didn't disappoint this time. Once you've finished eating the fresh and flavourful food, have a browse in the shop for ethical gifts and treasures.
J.
I was genuinely surprised at how quickly the gorgeously prepared food arrived after we ordered, tacos with pulled pork and the salad with grilled halloumi were exceptional.
The best thing was the coffee, it was strong and full of flavour... 5 ☆
S.
One of our favourite coffee shops. Great coffee and atmosphere. The date scones are perfect and always sell out fast.
L.
A lot less busy than it used to be! Still amazing food, drinks and service. With all that's happening with C1, this is a cafe with real integrity.
D.
Addington coffee co-op is a consistently good shop to get breakfast brunch or of course a coffee.
Quick service however the only downside here is there is quite a queue to order.
Staff are really friendly and recommended spot for breaky or brunch.
I.
Nice ambience, food and coffee are decent! they're open on Sundays always a plus. Wifi is a little slow and not much MB, so would recommend for brunch but not to chill with your laptop
J.
My favorite Christchurch spot, and where I take all visitors when they are here! The food is always delicious and fairly priced, and staff are wonderful and helpful. You can't go wrong here!
A.
Love this place! Fantastic Staff, Coffee, Atmosphere, Free Wifi and plugs available, inside & outside seating also, dog friendly. Sometimes it's hard to get parking but, plenty of options around and worth the look!!!
j.
Not much cabinet food available was 1pm
I.
I've driven & cycled past this place so many times without going in. Today I was walking by & decided to check it out & am so glad I did. It was 3pm on a Saturday & the place was three quarters full, that speaks volumes in itself.
The venue is a big roomy shed, with a high raftered roof, which breaks the noise up nicely. It's very informal with a mixture of rustic furnishings, tables, chairs & stools. There are plenty to suit everyone & of different sizes, for 2, 4 or more, whether you want something intimate or to sit round in a large group.
I had a lovely flat white coffee with a chocolate & date slice, served with cream or yoghurt. I opted for the latter & both were extremely tasty, leaving me wanting more. Cabinet fayre aside, I cast my eye over a broad & appealing brunch menu that will undoubtedly ensure a return visit soon.
M.
My friend and I split the banana bread and fish cakes for brunch and found the portions generous, the plating stunning, and most importantly the taste delicious. In particular, the banana bread had creamy mascarpone and New Zealand local honeycomb that made it hands down the best of its kind that I've tried. I'd highly recommend.
C.
I’ve been in this cafe once, for a brunch (witch was sooo yummy) while my washing was on. First, the washing machine and the dryers were super cheap, and good condition.
Second, I forgot my sunglasses there, and when I came back I didn’t find them. I let my contact and Bruce, the manger I think, has been soooooo helpful and so nice, he send them back !!!
I’d recommend it thousand times !!
A.
AWESOME COFFEE ON MY BIRTHDAY!!! Cannot wait to return...great staff who made my Grandchildren very welcome!!! Favourite cafe in Christchurch now...lovely merchandise also and great atmosphere!!!
G.
Addington coffee co-op is always buzzing, has great drinks and a great looking cabinet. Their little shop has many unique and interesting trinkets, and their book selection is superb.
L.
I really enjoyed my trip to Addington coffee co-op. The coffee was great. The breakfast options were lovely. The staff were friendly and chatty.
The dessert options all looked amazing.
I look forward to being able to come back.
A.
This place has a lot of potential.. The owner is very friendly and makes a point to talk to his customers. My only problem is that I went daily for 3 weeks to get the exact coffee each day and Noone bothered to try and recognize me and know my order. I stopped going back because of this. Nz is known for their friendliness and not remembering a regular doesn't make me stay loyal to a place.
P.
Always has good coffee and food. Great atmosphere to sit and chat. My favourite cafe.
D.
Just the best way to start the day. Awesome coffee, amazing food. Just so busy but with the best staff. A must for me every time I come to Christchurch.
M.
The food is good and coffee is not bad either. Can get a little crowded and noisy.
S.
Great food. Fair trade and organic products. Money going towards 3rd work countries etc. Run by Baptist church organization. The inside shop is beautiful full of hand made collections made by workers from India and other such countries.
There is also a launderette there for use.
R.
This cafe is always busy, serving great food and coffee from the early hours to late afternoon. Roasting their beans onsite you can expect to walk in to a fresh aroma of coffee each visit!
D.
Really enjoyed the bacon & pie. The ice coffee topped it off. The service was great.
It's always a good sign when the staff are laughing and happy.
C.
Always loved coming here since I was a kid the owner is very lovely and had a good chat with him. The shop was very cute and the food was very good
N.
Never fails to please. Very nice food, great coffee, great people, great spot. Always busy, by the time you order a table becomes available.
l.
Busy, variety of seating arrangements like an old market place lovely nz made organics, coffee beans to buy great place to meet and mingle
E.
Was recommended as a very good breakfast stop - and it was. We had toast and marmalade, and a granola. Both were top class, and the coffee not to be sneered at either. Highly recommended.
d.
Very good VIBES!!wicked stuff! Just missing a bit of DUB MUSIC!!PUT A DJ IN IT !!
L.
Liked the loaf, atmosphere and friendly staff. Coffee was nice too. Need to go back to provide better review
N.
Great food and atmosphere and a great wee fair trade shop but, for me, the best bit is their ethos. They're part of a larger organisation called Liminal who, not only have ethical ways of doing busines but redistribute 70% of their profits back to the local community and to some of the producers and communities overseas that create their products. There's also an onsite, public laundromat so, if you're travelling, make the most of it and enjoy great coffee and food at the same time.
M.
Very sweet and lovely café.
L.
So im from Melbs, and was down for my brothers 7s tourney in hoon hay. Googled the nearest cafe for a well needed large coffee for a soon to be full day at the footy park and low & behold the Addi coffee shop. Quickly stopped by, met a very nice & down to earth staff there who took my order. Awesome staff and nice setup, fairly spacious too. Latte was great and omgggggggg, their cheese scones were to die for! Size was jumbo but it was perfect for me in my hungover state ha ha. I will definitely be goin here on my awesome Chch visits. Thanks Addi & co!! 👍
R.
Great place to meet friends for a coffee. My coffee loving friend raves about their home blend of beans. One gift always sorted!
D.
Warm and retro-stylish atmosphere. Pretty cool and busy place all the time, but they keep up with the demanding crowd pretty well and waiting time is not bad. Great poached eggs on many variates... You cannot go wrong.
T.
This is a great place for coffee and food. The flag theme is really great and is fun to discuss with friends. It's always really busy when I go in so finding a seat can be hard. Great otherwise though
F.
Good coffee. Great service. Family friendly.
A.
Excellent spot for a coffee and some food. The eggs benedict with smoked salmon was delicious and the coffee is great. Really attentive staff and a short wait time for food.
J.
Fantastic food and coffee and staff are friendly. Love that this place supports great causes in Kolkata and their local community! Feels great to spend my money here knowing some of it will help people in need :)
S.
Nice food, a really friendly staff member greeted us once... Possibly owner. The atmosphere and design is just great. Really popular place so you may struggle to get a seat on the weekend but service is fast.
R.
Our go-to cafe in Christchurch that always lifts our spirits on a day when we're flagging. We will cross town to visit, for the friendly staff and owner, and lovely coffee, food and atmosphere, unfailingly excellent.
N.
This is how cafe's should be, you can tell they care about their environment. Also good food and coffee. Also the staff were helpful and friendly
N.
Friendly staff, nice food, fast efficient service, nice setting, very relaxing. Highly recommended.
S.
Lovely vibe. Heaps of vegan options. Really friendly staff.
G.
Didn't enjoy lunch today. Bacon & egg pie was fine but salad was awful. Just wanted a nice wee lite side salad. Not the cold chickpea stodge. "We don't do side salads" was.delivered without much interest.
Coffee good. Salad thing.needs a rethink.
Z.
Great place to go for brunch. Good food and coffee. Really friendly staff, especially the man who mans the gift shop at the front (can't remember his name). Very unique place. Used to be a garage that was converted into a café.
K.
Incredible place. Beautiful food and amazing coffee. Service was incredible. My favourite thing was how 70% of their profits go towards helping people.
S.
Outstanding brunch selection, great cabinet food, and awesome vibes! I love that they have a wee gift shop attached to the cafe, and they strive with their ethical business operations.
R.
Definitely one of the top cafes in Christchurch. Always busy during weekend.
s.
Very busy place but worth the
Wait , had earl grey tea perfect
And awesome service by staff
They get more than 5 stars
Highly recommend this place
To all.
J.
Funky, cool place with delicious baked goods, with lots of vegan and GF options! And my husband loved his latte and salmon eggs benedict.
D.
I loved the vibe and the decor of this coffee shop come restaurant. It was packed out but the food and coffee came out super quick. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly but the food was even better. It is a must to visit.
B.
My favourite place in Christchurch for breakfast/brunch on the weekend, selected cooked breakfast options (french toast, farmers breakfast, etc) plus plenty of cabinet food. Staff are always friendly and the place is consistently clean. Best part is 70% of their profits go to charity projects locally and abroad!
R.
An icon of the Addington community, the co-op has been around since before the quakes, from the days when the area was distinctly less business-like. Despite the influx of suits the place has retained its original feel, although it's harder to get a seat on the couches now. There's a laundromat on site, and a book/gift store selling a rather good range of socially-aware and fair trade stuff.
Bonus points if you can identify the flag you're given instead of a table number.
S.
We decided to stop by Addington to fix our coffee cravings and not only did Addington fixed it with their awesome coffee, we even get to meet Bruce which is the friendliest and down to earth person showing us warm and great Kiwi hospitality. And yes, South Island is the best!
H.
Good coffee, nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Well frequented but not too busy. At least when we were there
S.
Great place very popular in the heart of Addington highly recommend this cafe.
G.
Great fairtrade based business. Roast their own beans and have an excellent atmosphere. Lovely staff and family friendly. Bruce is the best host you could hope for.
D.
Having great breakfast with wise and funny cool(tall) guy Bruce.
T.
WHAT IS GOING ON!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Super fresh 8:30am on a Wednesday morning, cracking off at Addington Coffee Co-op.
—
For years I’ve been a fiend for a solid but different and unique but flavoursome Eggs Bene. Being a bit hesitant to shift away from my usual epic cafes I decided from the word of a close friend to give Addington Coffee co-op a try.... and ohhhh boy I was in for a treat! The bene came out in 5mins from eftpos translation. ( it was semi-quiet I’d expect 10mins when pumping).
—
The bene from base:
Ciabatta stack with perfectly seared bacon strips. Topped with 2 clearly free-range gooey cored eggs and a house made creamy hollandaise sauce, sprinkled dukkah for that unique party in your tastebuds.
100% recommend and will happily come back ..
Ps. The coffee deserves a review of its own.
A.
Great food and coffee but really just a great all round setup
M.
Due to work relocation I haven't been here for a couple of years. Thankfully very little has changed. Same great atmosphere, same sense of respite from the 'real' world and great coffee. Will come back for food next time.
b.
Lovely spot, great food, nice friendly staff
P.
Best cold brew in Christchurch. Best service in Christchurch. Bit out of the way but worth the journey, take a lime scooter through the park and enjoy the reward.
C.
Love this place to eat, good food, friendly staff, lots of room.
M.
Lively atmosphere, fast service. Scrambled eggs disappointing, looked like one egg🥚was used. Coffee could of been hotter ☕
J.
Great coffee and service with good food. Open and creative atmosphere. Great place to hang out.
A.
Super friendly host (maybe owner?) and very cool vibe. We only got coffee, the food looked good, but the espresso was middling.
D.
Fantastic breakfast/brunch/lunch food and service in a relaxed kid and adult friendly atmosphere. Great coffee, awesome place
J.
Very good food selection - comfortable and laid back- like gift shop to
B.
Great coffee. The food looked good but we did not eat there.
N.
nice buzzing vibe, nice coffee, fast service. And they sell my favourite candle and books. An owner who loves sharing what he thinks is good.
K.
Great atmosphere but food was extremely slow coming out, then it had been reheated and burnt.. not the best. good coffee though.
M.
Nice place. Incredibly busy. Really wished we were warned about the limited table space before they sold us the meal.had to stand and walk around for around 20mins for a table.
T.
A favorite coffee shop. Incredible food, coffee and lovely staff. Sit outside under a tree on a warm day with friends, it's great.
A.
Nice ambience. The vegan, gluten-free, refined sugar-free ginger loaf was delicious.
K.
Coffee was good, food was alright, but there are so many good cafes in Christchurch, and I've already got a favorite spot, nice open space
K.
Cozy, lots of papers and magazines to browse, a pretty lengthy brunch list with something for everyone, and lots of pastries. Four stars because my eggs on toast was mostly very big toast but tasty. Some lists note this as having free wifi--it's free up to 500mb.
L.
Excellent coffee and brunch. Great buzzy atmosphere and friendly service.
T.
Top notch if you can get a table. Excellent food, coffee & atmosphere.
H.
Addington coffe co-op is excellent.
When it's busy they take time to perfect things. It's worth any wait. And they have an Addington store! AND a public laundry! It's a brilliant. I don't think I've seen or tasted better! Especially for Mothers Day! That's what I'll be doing!
S.
Spacious, bustling cafe, very popular but the coffee is worth the wait. Cabinet food is above average and the menu options were simple but well executed.
E.
Always good. Coffee excellent and consistent. Great food.
J.
Delicious food and coffee and great chats with Bruce!
H.
Love this place. It’s so cute, all the staff are wonderful and there are so many vegan options! The scrambled tofu is soooo good!
B.

Great atmosphere, lots of choice, excellent coffee and friendly staff
R.
Great coffee. Comfy atmosphere. Food is decent. Service is good. Just a solid cafe experience all round
R.
Good food and drink overall. Nice atmosphere. Can get very busy at times but the staff handle it well and are pleasant throughout
G.
Great spot, great coffee, great atmosphere. There's so much to check out there and we always love our visits. Awesome place, highly recommended.
A.
Great place, really nice staff (provide me a blanket when it was cold), great coffee and egg benedict. However, the line was really long (because people just love it here) and there was barely any place to sit.
D.
Yummy Berry shake.
Good selection of gluten free food. Friendly staff
P.
Cafe was very warm for the cold day. Friendly staff. Good food. What more could you ask for
S.
Very busy, food was nothing special and the portion was small considering the price. Coffee, service and environment was lovely.
G.
Really nice food great service and coffee.
M.
Good food, good service, BUT - BELIEVE IT OR NOT they CHARGE (a fortune) for Internet access. And even AFTER paying a fortune (and suffering through a complex registration and prepayment dialogue), you're still locked out of what they call high bandwidth sites like Google Maps. Other coffee shops in the neighbourhood offer FREE WiFi. Period.
L.
Good coffee. Ok service and liked the environment but too noisy with coffee grinding and the number of people and music heavy on the bass. Not thrilled with the choices for lunch.
T.
Great coffee, good food, friendly staff
L.
Beautiful food and drinks choices. Great staff.
B.
Cool see cafe, cool atmosphere and plenty to choose from. Great coffee.
J.
Great coffee, cake and pancakes in a cool space. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well.
A.
Top staff, really helpful and friendly. Always a great atmosphere. Top 5 coffee spot in chch
J.
Great food, great coffee, great ambiance. Be prepared for it to be busy - there is a reason this place is popular - it is good!
H.
Wanted to go here and attempted twice. Everything looks amazing but way too busy and kids taking up tables. Got coffee but hopefully will return when it's not so busy
W.
Sad I'm only a visitor to New Zealand, because I would come here every day otherwise... Extremely good coffee; friendly staff who were even interested in hearing my upcoming plans; even a cute little shop in the front.
n.
Absolutely blown away by the staff, products, atmosphere and food. One of the best cafes I have ever been to. 5 stars from me.
J.
Amazing coffee with many dairy-free options! Cute little area outside to sit and drink coffee on a picnic blanket by the grape vines. Amazing atmosphere
B.
I love this place. It's got fair trade coffee, flags from around the world as table markers and an ethical vibe. Food is delicious. Always full at lunchtime.
P.
Love the coffee and the concept
H.
Great staff, great service, great mission. I have never had a bad experience. I love the staff are all so friendly. Thank you for all your good work. I miss my more regular visits

Amazing service! Dropped a tissue on the floor and was immediately attended to by one of the staff who came with a new piece (: coffee and food was great too, especially the Big Breakfast!
D.
A favorite place to buy my coffee beans. Great flavor, perfectly roasted
A.
Nice coffee shop, plug sockets if you're planning on doing some work. Wouldn't recommend the laundry though, dryers are slow and not many machines.
K.
Not cheap, but outstanding quality of food and coffee!
J.
I love the atmosphere of this place. If you go for breakfast on the weekend, it's buzzing with energy. Or you can rock up mid-afternoon for more of a chilled coffeehouse vibe.
F.
Very nice and welcoming Cafe.. One of few places we like to go with our kids as they have a toy box..food,coffee is really good + good food cabinet options and cakes.
C.
Great coffee and a great atmosphere!! Also love the interior decorations. Super cosy and inviting.
R.
Great atmosphere and excellent coffee and food
C.
Always a very pleasant experience. Coffee is from the top shelves and breakfast has never disappointed.
Would recommend.
G.
Very busy place and understandably why, as the coffee (their own roast) was amazing, as was the cabinet food. We'll deserving of a repeat visit one dsy
F.
Also has coin operated laundry, self help. So have cofe /healthy feed while you wait for your laundry to finish! Humming rustic atmosphere.
E.
Wonderful place with a great staff. In addition of being a beautiful place, the food and drinks are also amazing. One of our favourite place in Christchurch
C.
My favorite establishment in all of ChCh! Addington Coffee Co-op is a great way to start your day. Their savory muffins, croissants and baked goods are to die for. I have yet to try an item I haven't loved. Of note: pain au chocolate, ham/pineapple/savory items muffin, chocolate and berry muffin, sausage links, omelettes and french toast. This is a great place to come for a casual brunch, a morning coffee or an afternoon snack to read the paper or do your laundry (yes, there is a Laundromat on site!). I often get a trim cappuccino that they decorate in different patterns each day.
The atmosphere is rustic casual and Brooklyn hipster. Wooden beam walls a hodge-podge of wooden tables and chairs and couch seating make up the bulk of the restaurant. The water and utensils are 'serve yourself' and flags of the world are your table markers. The small store in the front sells kitschy little gifts from pillow covers to yarn toys, grocery sacs to soaps and oils. The coffee roasting company on site, Jailbreak, is fair trade and proceeds from this co-op go to help end women's suffrage.
P.
Very nice breakfast, only one crapper though.
J.
Always great coffee. Nice cosy space inside. Parking is not always easy, but can be expected.
M.
Come here for my coffee beans they are A+.
Love the community here
O.
Good food and coffee, service is friendly and at times they can get too busy
F.
One of the most amazing breakfast I had during my stay in New Zealand, along with a very good cappuccino!
The place is nice and relaxing.
P.
Delicious food, nice place to eat and good dairy free options. Reccomend if your after good food and coffee
H.
Very interesting coffee shop, will definitely be back to try more off their excellent menu.
M.
