You’d be stupid not to make this place your regular! By far the best coffee I’ve tried, a wide range or gluten and dairy free options (for if you’re difficult like me). Go there for the coffee or for the food, just make sure you go!! Cannot recommend this place enough!!! Keep up the amazing work guys ♥️

Work not far from these guys so it's my treat myself/having a bad day coffee!!! Coffee is really good every time, the occasions I have sat in there it has a unique charm to it so much so it could be full and yet still able to relax and enjoy a break or catch up with a friend. Staff are really friendly, food is awesome!!! Bags of character and just a really cool place to visit.

Friendly staff, great coffee, delicious and reasonably priced food, cool but relaxed atmosphere - especially on sunny days when they open the huge industrial garage door to let the outside in.

One of the best coffees around ChCh, the best Picolo and Flat White with macadamia milk I ever had in my life. Beautiful design and the food is also very tasty. Staff is very friendly.

Good range of cabinet food, including gluten free items. We both chose avocado on toast; mine was gf, his was sourdough. Both pleasantly surprised with generous servings, beautifully presented, very tasty. My drink was spiced Chai latte, his a flat white. Drinks were hot and tasty. Delighted to discover Ally and Sid.

The next reason I find that Ally and Sid truly is the best café in town would have to be the incredible menu that they provide. The food here is something to die for, they have a range of prices and quite the range of food perfect to go with your coffee or to make your day with a nice breakfast or lunch. Two of my favourites would have to be the bagel that can come with a large of spreads, and the croissant which I admit I am quite bias towards as I have it every time I am there. But it is not just the food that makes up the menu. It is a café after all. The variety of coffee and coffee beans there really makes the café as one of the owners, Sam Nimmo, is quite the connoisseur and can give you a lot of different types of coffee so I am sure that you would find your favourite here. But it is not just coffee either! They also brew their own kombucha and recently obtained their liquor license for evening events as well. Come and have a beer. Although there are many reasons to why this café warms my heart so much, I must bring this essay to a close after this third and final reason, the friendly service that they provide that is quite unlike any other place I go. Sam, Aimee, Wairepo, Adam and Mikayla make up the amazing team at Ally and Sid at the time of me writing this essay. All of the staff members are easy to talk to and very friendly while hosting you. I've found myself being able to connect to them during the hours that I spend here, and I never get bored of their service. Another aspect of their impeccable service would be their care and love of the business and every part of it and that definitely includes the community and customers that come into the café, they have a lot of time for everyone who walks through that door and it makes my day to see such a caring staff. Finally, I have to add that my favourite part of their service is quite simply the little things, from saying thank you to everyone after they leave to making an effort to learn people’s names, it's clear to see why I love the service here so much, it's like my second home. There are so many more reasons why Ally and Sid feels like a second home and the atmosphere, menu and service is just the tip of the iceberg, but you will have to make your own opinions and find out the other reasons for yourself. Chances are I will see you there and I hope to see you soon. Ally and Sid truly is the place to be anytime of the year.

Speciality coffee is always fun to come by in Christchurch. Very kind staff and a very calm atmosphere. I wish them all the success in future and only hope they move closer to me.

Phenomenal. The Earl Grey Tea was amazing, and the avocado toast is probably the best you’ll ever have! Very friendly, and definitely worth dropping in!!!
